Located in DTLB off of Broadway and Linden, I was lucky to find a metered spot on Linden right around the corner. I was warmly greeted by one of the tattoo artists and she allowed me to visit with my friend. I only stayed 30 min and my friend sent me a pic of her tattoo and the artist did amazing work! I believe my friend said she was there from noon til the time she sent me the pic which was around 6pm (of course with breaks).

This is the second time that I've been to the tattoo and piercing shop; the first time I went with a friend and also came in for a repiercing due to a hospitalization. I'm hoping this will be the last time that I go to this shop for a repiercing, but I will definitely come back here if I have to. Joslyn was extremely professional and made sure I felt comfortable the entire time during the piercing process by double checking that it didn't hurt. I had to purchase one of their steel titanium jewelry ($15 was the cheapest one) and was not allowed to use my own jewelry that I bought from Laughing Buddha. Which is totally understandable and makes sense as to why they don't use other jewelry outside of their own. I think it also specifies in their rules or contract that you're not allowed to bring in outside jewelry, but I would call to make sure. I also did not like that they didn't have a more comfortable waiting/seating area. Those tiny chairs on wheels are not really plus-sized friendly and I would have appreciated a regular chair instead of those. The online booking experience for an appointment within 3 days was easy to use on their website. I believe there was a $5 security deposit that goes into your overall total at the end of your piercing/tattoo session. In fact, my piercer Joslyn even emailed me to ask questions about my piercing history and whatnot. I really appreciated her attentiveness to detail and for taking the initiative to understand her customer's needs. Overall, I had a pleasant experience with my piercer Joslyn and would highly recommend her for your piercing needs. Thanks again!!

I had wanted an Owl tattoo for years and I felt Charlene could deliver on the detail I wanted. She was very communicative and professional thru the whole process and everything at the studio was done under very aseptic technique. We also really had a nice time chatting during the hour or two she was doing my artwork. I got a bit clammy at the start so she gave me a little break and then I think adrenaline kicked in and nerves calmed and we tired a fan on and I was good to go. The first one was a poorly done wedding ring tatt done by a neighborhood friend. It lacked layers and defining lines and basically said what the marriage felt like and I wanted to put a bat over it with some red behind it to contrast my path when I filed for divorce. It looked incredible and it even has a tiny cute little face, and it's my ring finger! Then I had a "bat ass" tatt I needed correction from. I originally wanted the drips to be sumi-E ink style and the former artist charged me so much, lacked details, did it his own way even though he required my own specific design - he just couldn't get the interpretation down and I did not want to risk another visit with him. I knew Courtney would get it. She spent time doing her own design of my verbal input with some visual references and ended up adding extra details I could only dream of but never say aloud. She did it in 2 visits, not as heavy handed, and again the price was right. Her music vibes! Always a great time at Broadway. Also if you're into piercings, I've never seen an unhappy customer and believe me I say there for hours! I'll prob take my cousin for that. Even though I didn't have an appointment, I never felt rushed. I explained what I wanted verbally, and he immediately sketched up a design that was exactly what I had in mind. From start to finish, I was tattooed in less than an hour. It's been a few weeks now, and it has healed beautifully. I went back for a second tattoo, a small rib piece. I had sent him the font I liked beforehand, and when I got there, he whipped up a few size suggestions to help me choose what looked best. He took the time to make sure everything was spelled correctly and placed exactly the way I wanted before we started. Both experiences have been fantastic. Michael is professional, clean, efficient, and genuinely cares about the quality of his work. His workstation was spotless, and for my rib tattoo, he even used a clean drape on the bed to make sure I was comfortable while lying on my side. My little brother has a few tattoos by Andrew and only has the very best things to say, plus his tattoos and the line work look SO so good... so when my sister and I recently visited said brother in Long Beach, we had to put Retro Row Ink on the agenda. This tattoo shop is one big open room with maybe 8-10 artist-stations throughout. Everything is super clean, colorful, and welcoming, and of course there's tons of beautiful artwork by the resident tattoo artists across the walls. You gotta browse and enjoy all the different talent! My sister got a couple small tattoos, some script and then her daughters' initials worked into a tattoo she already has. Andrew sent us a link to a website where we could search and select fonts, but if you need ideas your tattoo artist will definitely have them! I like the idea of tiny tattoos on my hands/fingers, just one tiny step at a time, hahah. I decided to get a single teensy star, which I now call the North star. It looks like a classic, Christmassy twinkle star... or what a single light looks like in the dark when you have an astigmatism, ha. ANYWAY, it's the perfect tiny little sparkle and Andrew was able to draw it with the tiniest, finest little lines. I love it. I'll see how it heals and how the ink takes to my hand-skin, but I'm already making plans for my next Long Beach trip so I can see Andrew again!
