I came across Sugar & Lash thanks to Yelp and was ready to try out the Brazilian sugar wax. BLUF: I had a good experience for my sugar Brazilian wax. Would recommend! I'm pretty open minded and always ready for an experience so I had no prob having a total stranger see my lady pocketbook. That's the first thing I'd say to people you have to be comfortable with someone being all in your business. I've never had a Brazilian wax or a sugar wax so I read into it. Brazilian wax removes the hair in the front and the back. I must've missed reading the part about the BACK because I was a little shocked when she said it lol. Sugar wax is less harsh than regular wax bc the hair is pulled in the same direction. I met and talked with Mandy then I was taken to a private room. I took off my bottoms only and received a towel wrap that had snaps to fit on my waist. I laid on the table and let the lady know I was ready through the closed door. She came in and got to work. I would say it's uncomfortable but not unbearable. Mandy is considerate and would offer breaks but I just went the whole time nonstop. It's good to have at least a weeks worth of hair but not too much hair or else that's more pulling. Mandy went to work on the front and the BACK. The front was more effort than the back. The back goes really quick and is much easier to handle. A little weird feeling but manageable. I was there for about 30 minutes and it really all goes quickly. Mandy will talk to you throughout to make it less awkward and as pleasurable as possible. Overall it was not scary or way painful. I will be back for another. I know over time the hair will get thinner and waxing will be easier.

I came in with no expectations of the pain level, and it ended up hurting a lot less than waxes I've gotten in the past. When you arrive you'll need to take off your shoes at the door. There's water in the waiting room and plenty of seating and reading material. Lucianne was super patient and provided a lot of information on the process. She was gentle (as far as hair removal goes) and made my first sugaring experience super relaxing. If you're used to waxing, the pain is no where compared to a Brazilian wax. If you're nervous l, highly recommend taking a Tylenol beforehand. They sell natural skincare products in-house, and I purchased their serum created by Ritual Union (ritual_Union on IG) to use and help with ingrowns and moisturizing. It's full of great ingredients and I'm excited to be using it. If you're into skincare/body care, Lucianne recommended to check out Earth Commons on Springdale Road. They also do events, sell tea blends, and offer holistic services. Absolutely loved my experience and I think this has converted me from using hard wax to sugaring. Very posh salon with decorated black, white, and gold. I signed up for the Brazilian membership, which only has a 3 month commitment to give this a fair test. Picked up some Fur Oil for the lady bits to help the hair come out easier in the future. I liked that the Fur Oil had an excellent 79/100 rating on the Yuka app and it's in a glass bottle!!

I chose this business as it was closest to me. Booking the appointment was super straightforward & painless. As soon as I arrived, my esthetician Breanna knew who I was and offered a water. We got started quickly, and she also had a cleansing wipe for "down there" that wasn't used when I went to a private esthetician. That's a great idea. Overall, the process was efficient and I did not struggle with pain (I do have a high tolerance). I left feeling more smooth than after my waxes. I guess going kinda quick made it seem impersonal, so I docked 1 point, but it wasn't the end of the world. If you want to watch Netflix, they also have TVs available!

I appreciated how quick and easy it was to receive the service I needed that it led me to get a membership. However I did NOT appreciate an extra charge of $13 that I did not approve. When I called back I was told it was the tip.. I don't mind tipping but it is NOT okay to give yourself money from someone's account without approval. I hope it doesn't happen again. Overall the facility is small but tidy and very clean. The ability to book online allows for great flexibility. I could tell the difference of the quality between a normal wax and sugaring.
