Went for the Friday fish fry and it was really good. We will definitely go back. My husband especially enjoyed the walleye.

Visiting the area with children and grandchildren we were looking for a local (non-chain) place to…read moreeat as we walked the area. Thew the dart on the map and decided to check the place out. We found a cute little sitting area in the back that we could push some tables together. The wait staff worked as team checking on us as they came by. The menu consists of more that just typical bar food, so we were able to find items to satisfy our individual taste buds, including the pickiest of the little ones. The Tavern burger was reportedly good from one of our group members, I enjoyed the Cheesesteak sandwich along with the Cheese Squares. The littles did not complain about the chicken tenders. The beer was good too. OK pricing considering the current economic situation.

The wait was a little bit long but I couldn't see how busy they were inside . My wife order the shrimp sandwich and I ordered the Peruvian steak sandwich. Both with sides of fries. My wife said the shrimp sandwich was an eight out of 10. Pretty good. Best part was definitely the buns felt fresh. The steak sandwich for me was a bit bland. The sauce was the star. I feel like the sauce was not there would be a pretty bland sandwich steak did not have any flavor unfortunately but still a decent sandwich. We are planning on coming back down to Kenosha and trying this place again. It may be checking out the other things they have.

Such a great spot in the downtown Kenosha harbor area for food, drinks, and a great vibe! Friends…read moreand I sat out on the patio for some drinks and a good chat. Service was prompt and attentive while we relaxed and took in the sun. The drink/cocktail menu had something for everyone and great taste in their creations. The house margarita was refreshing and perfect for a summer day!

It happened to be an earlier dinner, so we got the "Happy Hour" menu along with the standard menu. Our server was Mariella "Mari." She was attentive and kind. She was quick, and the whole visit was perfect. We started with the sliders. They come 2 each per order. We chose the meatball slider and Smash slider. When these arrived, we shared 1 each of the slider types. But, much to our surprise, these sliders are more like a full-size burger. We both really enjoyed the Smash Burger more. We followed that with a Pinsas each. He ordered the cheesy garlic, and I ordered the Caprese. Both were good, but the Caprese was better and topped with so much goodness. There are several tables inside and outside for dining as well as a small parking lot and street parking. There is a full bar, although we only ordered water. The lighting is a bit dim, but not too bad. There are several TV. The entrance doesn't have steps. Rather hip spot to check out.

Our burger club always ventures a little further out during Thanksgiving and the summer when our…read moreschedules are a little lighter, so in 2025, we ventured out to Kenosha for The Garage. It was a weeknight, but the street we were driving up to get here was a little dark and run down. But don't let that deter you. They have a nice sized parking lot for their location. Then we walked inside and found a narrow room with a bar running the length of one long wall and counter height tables and chairs perpendicular to the opposite wall. They really jammed in as much as they could in the space that they have. The ambience was dark and moody. They were playing hard rock and the bar had a couple of regulars sitting inside. At the end of the bar at the far end, was a cubicle of a kitchen. That's where the magic happens. Their menu is simple: appetizers, burgers, and build your own burgers. That's it. We all built our own burgers and they have a LOT of options. However, the build your own may start at $9, but each topping adds to the cost. But who cares? The burgers were phenomenal! Their website clearly states, "Best burgers, ever." And they're not wrong. The burgers were juicy, flavorful, and delicious. Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. And everything is made in this tiny area at the end of the bar. We were the only people in the place after about 20 minutes, but again, who cares. The staff were extremely friendly. Their playful banter and bickering when they cleaned up was hilarious to listen to, and they were lovely to talk to as well. One of our group wanted to pick up some Spotted Cow beer (you can't get it in Illinois) and asked about a place to get it nearby. They suggested Shenanigan's with a drive-through just a couple blocks away. We have to make another trek back. They are awesome and their burgers are great, too!
