We just ended a lovely stay at the Bentley Inn. Service was impeccable, room and bed super comfortable. We really appreciated the black out blinds! The breakfast was so fresh and delicious! Homemade yogurt and granola, hard boiled eggs, blueberry coffee cake, fruit that was so sweet and ripe, prosciutto and gourmet cheeses. We are already planning a return visit. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast--a short walk to the ocean. read more

The only thing that was really great about the inn was the staff. They were very friendly and quick to assist. However, our queen bed was so uncomfortable. My hip hurt for three days. Also, the AC was very loud and right next to our heads. The breakfast was nice the first day, but it was exactly the same the whole time we were there. I doubt we'd ever stay again. Wanted to add an updated review for The Bentley. (And some updated pics!) I am generally not a B&B type but was pleasantly surprised at the layout and workings of the Bentley. Everyone was super accommodating. Two blocks from the beach and a parking lot. That in itself is so amazing. No worries about street parking and tickets here. Two badges per room, beach towels and outdoor shower area and hose for feet, chairs etc. The Bentley has been updated recently with paint and more modern bedding. We were super comfortable and the B&B was really quiet. We were in room 12, we had a King and our own bathroom. That was a must for me... Breakfast every day was a huge variety of danish, breads, cheeses and fruit. Legit enough to hold you over until dinner! Stayed here 6 nights and enjoyed every one. The Bentley is a gem for sure. You can choose how you want to stay whether it's a private bath or a shared. Lots of great options! read more

We spent $200 in off season for uncomfortable twin beds, a bathroom across the hall and a porch light that glared into our tiny room keeping us up all night. It was the WORST experience and WORST stay in our lives. We threw our backs out on the terrible tiny twin mattresses and we were up 10 times due to noise, light and a ridiculous bathroom across the hall. Save your money and go to a Holiday Inn. The Bentley is a high priced run down RIP OFF! read more

We stayed at the Bentley the weekend of April 13th. It's close proximity to the beach was the selling point for me. Glen manages the facility, he is very helpful and was quick to answer our questions about the house and nearby attractions. We stayed in room 211. Everything in the room worked. Took the old television for a spin and borrowed a VHS from the library downstairs. April is consider their pre-season, so we were the only guests in the house. For light sleepers, the fog horn starts going off in the evening and continues all the way to the morning hours. Point pleasant beach is minutes away from the house. Jenkinson Boardwalk had multiple arcades, an amusement park and a lot to entertain. There's also hiking trails at Edwin B. Forsythe national park. read more

The Bentley Inn is a warm, cozy Bed & Breakfast just 1.5 blocks from the ocean. Glenn is a wonderful host and very accommodating. I called last minute to check availability for an overnight business trip and he really saved the day! The room was quaint and as another described "like grandma's house". I had a private bathroom which was well worth it. I wish I had a little more time here. The only con: outdated decor, very hard bed. (But you need to expect this if you have never stayed at a Bed & Breakfast). read more

Beautiful, cozy, warm B&B with inviting common areas furnished with an eclectic mix of furniture, art, and Moroccan rugs (had a great conversation with the owners about the rugs). Incredibly friendly and inviting owners who recently took over and clearly put a lot of time and TLC into upgrades. We stayed on the second floor with a private bathroom. We overheard other guests being surprised by a common bathroom and shared suite bathroom, probably more used to "air BNB" private homes than traditional B&Bs. The second floor balcony was a great spot for a glass of wine. First night we were there my wife and I found the downstairs common area so inviting we came down from our room and sat for over an hour talking and listening to the jazz played on small speakers tucked out of sight. Very nice breakfast spread and coffee, tea, and ice water was available all day. We were in town for my niece's wedding but plan to go back on our own at the end of the summer. read more

My family and I had a wonderful time during our stay at the Bentley Inn in Bay Head, New Jersey. We created such fond memories thanks to the entire staff, including Kim, Mike, and the Innkeeper, Glenn. They were all so genuinely friendly, caring and accommodating throughout the entire stay. You don't normally expect to get a great breakfast at a hotel, motel or B&B. But, the food served for breakfast at this B&B was extraordinary. I always requested the daily special, made-to-order Omelet each morning. I definitely highly recommend it and it's only a couple minutes from the boardwalk at Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. We are planning on coming back again soon. read more

Stayed at this B&B recently using the Groupon and it turned out to be a great deal. Had a cozy little room with a private bathroom, AC unit, closet and vanity. Breakfast was served every morning from 8:30-10 am and it was delicious, with a good set of options to choose from and good portion sizes too. The house is generally pretty quiet and old fashioned but it was perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff was friendly and courteous throughout the stay, and the location is a few short blocks from the beach. The beach itself was very nice and clean, and we were even provided with beach passes and towels. A short drive will from here will get you to restaurants, shopping, the boardwalk and several other beaches in the area. Two thumbs up! read more

Just back for a short stay. Glenn is a master at what he does--a very talented and warm person as well as innkeeper, and he really puts his heart into his craft. Classics American B&B hospitality does not get any better than this.. I began going to the Bentley around 10 years ago, and make a pilgrimage back there once or twice a year, once in the summer, and once off season, and have always had a happy experience. It;s one of the nicest locations--across the street from the beach--on the Jersey shore, and former carpenter and rock 'n roll drummer (yes, he made the big time). innkeeper Glenn and his wife create a very accommodating, comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. Glenn cooks a mean breakfast, and great coffee-cake cake creations each day. Try the outdoor shower. Heaven! read more

The staff is super courteous and the plentiful breakfast choices are yummy. (Not to mention, you'll enjoy a complimentary freshly-baked treat every day in the dining room!) No need to pack beach towels, as fresh ones are provided daily and parking is on the premises. Just pin on your free beach passes and stroll to the shore! You also have the option of just chillin' outside. The wrap-around porch was directly accessible from our room, which also had a private bath! Went for a winter birthday getaway at the end of January with a few friends. Glenn, the owner, is super nice. Rooms are absolutely spotless. Rates are a steal off season, and since we were the only folks in the whole place, he gave us a free room upgrade! The decor is everything you expect out of a bed & breakfast. Lots of books, knick knacks, and a stockpile of VHS tapes. It all adds to the charm. After dinner at Labrador Lounge, friends and I spent the night playing Cards Against Humanity and drinking cocktails in the common room downstairs, then to our rooms to settle down with a movie. Breakfast in the morning was deeeeelicious! B&B's are not really my thing during the summer, but for an offseason beach escape, this place is just what the doctor ordered. read more

We have stayed at the Bentley Inn for the past 3 Memorial Day weekends. We have stayed in the same room each time with a shared bathroom with another room. We have not found this to be a problem at all. Glenn is very kind and helpful. The staff of young men and women he has had working there every summer have always been helpful and very respectful. They make staying there a pleasure. Breakfast is always very good and coffee and tea are available all day. You can sit on the porches or in the living room area to relax. You are so close to the beach and other than the traffic down Rte 35, which is hardly an issue, it is a pretty quiet neighborhood. Looking forward to next year's stay already. read more

Clean and close to beach but rooms are so small and cluttered you trip over each other. Bathroom is way to small you get hit with the door no matter where you are. Very old looks like grandmas house. For the cost it doesn't pay. Mine as well stay in a local hotel. read more

Bentley Inn is an adorable inn that is located a block away from the quiet beaches of Bay Head, NJ. It has a very warm and homely feel to it and is quaintly decorated with all kinds of cute little trinkets - all in all a very welcoming place. The Innkeeper/Owner Glenn is a gracious host and cooks a kickass breakfast as well as bakes a delicious cake every day that guests are welcome to enjoy. The rooms are a little on the smaller side but nothing unmanageable. There is a Bicycle rental place nearby that drops off bicycles for the weekend (sorry, can't remember the name) so my friends and I didn't need a car at all ( the NJTransit Bayhead train station is a mile away). Glenn also provides towels for the beach. Overall, my friends and I had the most wonderful experience at Bentley Inn and I look forward to making my next trip there! read more

A very comfortable, accommodating place to stay with all the comforts you could think of. Glenn, the owner, is a friendly, approachable, helpful host. The rooms are neat and finely furnished. The house is 2 short blocks from the beach. It feels like staying at your grandma's cozy house, with all sorts of classic furniture, antique framed pictures, knick knacks and old magazines furnishing the place. There is also a filling breakfast served, and unlimited tea/coffee! One warning: most of the bathrooms are shared. However, my mother and I had no difficulty with that as the bathrooms were always unoccupied whenever we needed to use them. read more

I had to make a last minute trip to the Shore at the end of December - I had no idea where I would wind up - and I was delighted to find a warm, restful and cozy place to stay at Bentley Inn. The owner Glenn was available if I needed anything, but i also had the sense that I was blissfully on my own and able to fully relax. The rooms are sweet and very comfortable, the beach is incredibly close and the Inn is also within a mile or two of great restaurants. A really great find apart from a series of motels at the other end of the beach. I will be back! Thank You! read more
