Common living area

Beautiful, cozy, warm B&B with inviting common areas furnished with an eclectic mix of furniture, art, and Moroccan rugs (had a great conversation with the owners about the rugs). Incredibly friendly and inviting owners who recently took over and clearly put a lot of time and TLC into upgrades. We stayed on the second floor with a private bathroom. We overheard other guests being surprised by a common bathroom and shared suite bathroom, probably more used to "air BNB" private homes than traditional B&Bs. The second floor balcony was a great spot for a glass of wine. First night we were there my wife and I found the downstairs common area so inviting we came down from our room and sat for over an hour talking and listening to the jazz played on small speakers tucked out of sight. Very nice breakfast spread and coffee, tea, and ice water was available all day. We were in town for my niece's wedding but plan to go back on our own at the end of the summer.

Having a great time, al fresco, eating dinner one night on the porch. There was a beautiful cool ocean breeze the whole night.

My family and I had a wonderful time during our stay at the Bentley Inn in Bay Head, New Jersey. We created such fond memories thanks to the entire staff, including Kim, Mike, and the Innkeeper, Glenn. They were all so genuinely friendly, caring and accommodating throughout the entire stay. You don't normally expect to get a great breakfast at a hotel, motel or B&B. But, the food served for breakfast at this B&B was extraordinary. I always requested the daily special, made-to-order Omelet each morning. I definitely highly recommend it and it's only a couple minutes from the boardwalk at Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. We are planning on coming back again soon.

I reached out to an old friend who recommended the White Sands hotel. I didn't realize how large it is. My husband and I are staying in the main building and my daughter and family are across the street near the pools and ocean which is fine because they have small children. I have a king room which is fairly large with a nice little patio. It's called the parking lot view, but I can actually see the beach from here and on a clear day, the ocean as well. There's a restaurant on site as well as an indoor pool and hot tub. There is also a bourbon bar that opened which I haven't tried. The room is very clean and looks like it's been recently renovated. Since we are at the shore, it is a blessing not to have a carpet in the room trapping sand. The housekeeping staff does a really nice job. The bathroom is small just has a toilet and a small shower with the sink in the main area just outside the bathroom. That works for us. The only thing I would recommend is an additional nightstand. There's only one nightstand, although there are space for one on each side of the bed. I am using a crate to charge my things. There's a small microwave and a nice small refrigerator. We are one block from the beach. We have wristbands that open the doors to the room and also allow us pool and beach access. The beach is a little on the small side, but it is private with a lifeguard. Point pleasant is a nice little town with a lot of rental homes in the vicinity of the hotel. It's a quick walk to the boardwalk and the amusements it far enough away where it's quiet. It's only the weather would cooperate. You have to book these rooms by February and there's no telling what the weather is gonna be like so we've had some rain and clouds. We're thinking we'll be back next year. So far, a wonderful stay.

I'm at this motel. It's 3:45am. Usually I save my reviews for after checkout, but this place is…read moreextra special, so here we are. The sheets and pillows are WET. When we checked in, we noticed they seemed damp, but we turned on the AC unit thinking it would dehumidify the room while we were at the beach, and we went out for 8hours or so. Then we returned, pulled back the covers and found that the sheets were also really damp. And the pillows were still damp. My 10 year old was super uncomfortable, so I called the front desk... "Hello, this is room 16...umm....our pillows seem really damp...is this something the other rooms are experiencing too?" Front desk clerk, "That's because the humidity has been so high and it hasn't been hot and it's because of the air conditioners making them cold. They are just cold. I felt them myself earlier." Me: "oh...Umm...ok, thank you." Nobody tell my husband we paid $195 for this room. I'm sure they have a dryer on the property. Or maybe a couple spare pillows that aren't wet? I used to work at a hotel, and I can't imagine allowing a guest to try to sleep with wet pillows and sheets. They are so wet that if you lay on them, it makes your skin wet. Both beds. It's not comfortable. Survival tip: Take the wet sheets off the bed and sleep on top of the comforter, and use your packed vacation clothes on top of the pillows to keep your hair and face dry. ORRR...take the comforters to the car and sleep there and bring them back in the morning. Right now my dress and leggings are keeping us from dying. I turned the heat up to 80 in a fruitless effort to evaporate the humidity. Then back to 72. Then back to 80. Then back to 70, because my daughter was hot. I'm sure whatever money they saved by not giving these blankets and sheets an extra 10 minutes in the dryer they have surely lost in electricity from my trying to fix this problem... We turned the AC unit off for a while, since it seemed to be doing more harm than good, but an exuberantly loud Italian guy was outside smoking and talking, while his female friend kept telling him he needs to be quieter because he was "seriously louder than loud dude" (her words, not mine). I personally enjoyed listening in on their conversation, but my family found it annoying as they were trying to sleep. Italian dude thinks that companies are hiding the cure to cancer because it would cost them money to cure it. I think that's a pretty big conspiracy theory, and he didn't have much evidence, but hey...the pillows are wet so, waddya Gonna do? AmIRight? Check in was ok. No masks on anyone, which would usually bother me but I'm vaccinated so...okie dokie. Front desk lady was terrible at recommending a restaurant. (By the way, if you want seafood, "The Shrimp Box" was expensive af but realllly good.) She didn't mention any place by name, but she was nice. Note: They no longer have half price beach tags at this motel, ever, according to her. The room was very clean. The shower is a one-piece surround, so no mold cracks. But the pillows were WET... There was no dust on any of the blinds in the 3 windows...But wet pillows ... The refrigerator and microwave are clean. But...w.e.t PILLows... There is no hair dryer. There is also no air vent anywhere, not even the bathroom. I chose this place because it looked like the closest to the beach...walking distance. But seeing so many available parking places right up by the boardwalk, I should have booked a nicer hotel with a little drive instead, and paid the $2.50 per hour to park. It may have even been cheaper. But right now, I would sell my soul for some dry sheets and a dry pillow.

I'd highly recommend staying here! No frills but VERY clean and 5 min walk to the boardwalk and…read morebeach. Beach passes can be purchased at the front desk for half price. Paying in cash when you arrive will get you a small discount! I stayed in room 5; the bed was super comfortable! I will definitely be back!

A/C window unit was a little noisy but did the job even in 90+ weather. Breakfasts were excellent with options for side dishes. Good location one block from the beach on a quiet street. The wrap-around porch has plenty of seating and is a lovely setting for breakfast. The dining room is rather charmless but large with plenty of seating. Coffee and iced tea available all day. The only bummer was the umbrella. Pro tip: Do not pay $15 to rent an umbrella for a day. The umbrella was poor quality with plastic ribs that collapsed in the wind. We couldn't use it - had to take it down. But the manager refused a refund. The response was, "It was a windy day." Yes, it was a windy day. There are a lot of windy days at the beach. And on this particular windy day everybody else's umbrellas were standing up just fine. None of them were collapsed to half the size like this one.

I called to book instead of using booking and we got a better price & a better room than booking.com had. Truly best vacation we have had. Pros : -affordable -family friendly atmosphere - Beautiful view ( bayberry building ocean view with balcony raised first floor) -very clean -ALL the staff was SUPER friendly and helpful -Private beach access (trust me it's so worth it) -Clean pool -LOCATION- best location hands down right at the beginning of the boardwalk and on the beach. You can see the fireworks that they have every Thursday right at that end of the boardwalk. -The room got cold fast and stayed cool all day -OFFICE DOG literally coolest fog ever -next to a cute breakfast/lunch place -next to an ice cream place that has the best water ice and ice cream we've had ever. Cons -little outdated for sure -beds are not super comfortable but tolerable to be honest. -you can hear everything through the ceiling (but that's just apart of it not their fault) -balcony is right next to the walking path where people wash off from the private beach Overall it was so worth the price for just the location and view. We went on days we knew wouldn't be as busy. I loved it and would go back again but they are selling according to their FB. So hopefully whoever buys it keeps the family friendly atmosphere!
