We found this place because we took the wrong turn on the hwy...and we loved it! The biscuits are really BIG and delicious. In fact all the food was really good...and you get plenty of it. If you like biscuits this is the place! I had the Jim's platter. The biscuits were the star, so fluffy and moist. I like my hash browns extra crispy and they delivered though they were a tad on the greasy side. The gravy was good, though there wasn't much on the plate in relation to the biscuits and when I asked for extra the server charged me for it. Otherwise the service was good, very attentive. They close by 2:30pm so make sure to come early. read more

This is a great breakfast place! It is clean, the staff is so nice, and the food is good. I got the eggs Benedict with hash browns and it was delicious! Their hash browns are on the top of my list, as they had a perfect crunch to them and weren't soggy, as it usually is with these types of hash browns. I recommend for breakfast! read more

A pretty good breakfast place with oldies tunes on the radio. I've been here a few times. The store is very clean. They have highly attentive staff. The coffee is adequate. Orders come quickly. The food is pretty good most of the time. I've explored around the menu a little bit, and most of it's good. I'm not a fan of the hash browns. It almost tasted like the grill cleaning chemical wasn't washed off well enough and ended up in the potatoes. I'll give it another shot to see if they earn the 5 star. read more

We where driving thru looking for good place to eat breakfast. When I found this one from Siri. We like trying Resturant that are not chains or we haven't ate at. The food was outstanding, more than we could eat. I had a bacon and cheese omelette that came with hash browns and toast. More than enough to eat. My wife had pancakes, eggs and bacon was good but the pancakes where the biggest I've ever seem. She shared but I was to full to eat. If your ever in area I would stop and eat. The service was outstanding and he helped with a problem we where having that was to do with our trip. He went way beyond the service. read more

Update to previous review: I previously made a review stating my food was cold and undercooked. This happened 4 times on 4 separate visits. The manager asked me to remove my review for compensation towards my meal. After doing so they promptly blew me off and never responded to me again. While in town for a race series we looked for a local diner and came across The Big Biscuit and it did not disappoint! We started off with a loaded biscuit and then enjoyed a variety of breakfast entrees. It was so good that we came back the next day forgoing the option of a different local diner! This was a good breakfast spot while traveling. As the name implies, they have biscuits which were huge. They were light and fluffy. We had a basic breakfast with eggs, biscuits and hash browns. So we have waited 20 minutes in line while other groups larger than our 5 showing up and getting a table before us. Apparently you can get your name on the list if you go online and get on yelp. I really wanted to like this place better. The food is four stars. Staff is super friendly however a couple of basic serving issues. For one the coffee is Horrible I mean- HORRIBLE! Waitress was extremely nice but when she brought the food she had the plates stacked on her arms where the bottom of the top plate was actually laying halfway on the food on the lower plate. I was rather grossed out by that. Then as I was still eating she insisted on clearing the plates on the booth. I was sitting on the end and she insisted on reaching over me and having the KIDS pass her the dirty plates again right over my food that I was still eating. I felt very rushed as if I was tying up her booth. We were there 45 minutes so I don't think that is terribly long. This place is charming and the food is decent. Some additional server training would benefit this place immensely. read more

The food was decent, but the service was the best. I showed up last minute inquiring about catering that very morning for work. Less than twenty minutes later the owner or manager, whichever one, was loading my car with an entire pan of giant biscuits and a pan of gravy. I just came to the Big Biscuit with my Dad. I'm from Kansas City and he lives here in St. Joe. I go to the Big Biscuit in north Kansas City and the one in Blue Springs all the time. This Big Biscuit has to be the worse that I have ever been too. First of all it took forever to get our drinks. Second, when they finally did bring my biscuits and gravy and corn beef hash to me they didn't bring silverware. Corn beef hash was burnt. I was completely done with my food when they finally brought my dad's food out to him. He ordered the exact same food that I ordered. How do they not come out at the same time?Needless to say I will not be coming back to this Big Biscuit again. I will stick to the ones that I know are good. read more
