What an amazing place! We sat at the bar and watched the World Cup game. We had an amazing bartender who was always on top of things. My wife had a Bloody Mary which is made white their homemade mix. It was awesome! I had a local IPA which was also amazing, so I had another. My wife got the pot stickers and I had boneless wings. Both were very good and we would definitely have them again. Disappointing tonight! The kitchen was just not on its game. My Rattlesnake pasta tasted good, but was barely like warm. Sent it back, and when it came back the top was hot, but the rest was still barely lukewarm still. Took about 3 bites, and took the rest home. The Club Sandwich bacon was overdone. Baked potato was waaaayyy overcooked. So skin was hard. Boneless wings had some chewiness to them. The pasta did get comped, so can't complain too much! And I took the leftovers home. Server was great! I felt bad for complaints about the pasta, but she was awesome. She was very attentive, and kept drinks filled. She lent my kiddos a pen to do the kids menu activities. I wanted to love this place Fun, atmosphere, great layout, incredible staff. But the food was a huge miss. I am from Florida, and if you're going to put crabcakes on your menu, you should know what they taste like. I didn't order the surf and turf. I got the flat iron steak, rare. and shrimp, grilled (you have the option of crabcake instead of shrimp, not falling for that again). The steak was med well. And the shrimp was fried. Wow! Why isn't this restaurant and the people who work in it by our home? We live in Spring Hill and came out this way to see a car. We had a little time so looked on Google and decided on this place. Our server Denae was so friendly and attentive! She was always checking on us, refilling drinks, and was prompt. Great lunch with really good service. I had my standard scratch veggie burger and Brussels sprouts. It was exactly like I expected, hot, tasty, and fresh. My hubby loved the unlimited soup & salad. He loved the baked potato soup. He enjoyed the steak soup as well. He wasn't really crazy about the Caesar salad because he likes a really sharp, zingy Caesar dressing. This was pretty bland to appeal to the mass. That's ok, I was happy to see him eat some of it! I was very disappointed in the keylime pie. I don't know where the lime flavor came from in this "pie" but it's just odd. It's like a piece of cheesecake with inconsistent citric acid flavoring. The service was not to my standards. I felt like I was beeing judged. The waitress was very rude at the beginning and the manager at the end of our meal jumped at me because I was asking for a recipe. From another waitress. In my opinion, they looked at us like I couldn't pay for dinner. They need to not judge a book by its cover, before making a judgment on people of other races. The staff are amazing!! We came on a Saturday during lunch rush. As you can imagine, it was packed. We were seated pretty quick and our server was on top of it the whole time! Our wait time for apps and food were 5-10 minutes which was impressive for how busy it was! My boyfriend got a ribeye and it ended up being overcooked. With how busy it was, he wasn't bothered by it. Evan (I'm assuming was the owner/manager) brought the steak to us and apologized and said he could take it back because they already started another ribeye. We said it was totally fine! Went at 2pm for a late lunch. Waitress took forever to even bring water to the table, so we placed our order when she brought the water. Food came out pretty quick but the spoon brought out with my soup had dried cheese or something on it. Finally saw our waitress to ask for a clean spoon & by time she got it to me, my soup was ice cold. She acted like I bothered her when I asked for another bowl since this one was cold. She was very short with me & grabbed the bowl & walked away. 10 minutes later she finally returned hot soup. When travel to the Lake of the Ozarks we stopped here for lunch. We try to do local restaurants when we can ! This place did not disappoint. The restaurant was lively and full for a Thursday lunch . But the staff handled it well . Our server was so great! We had the gringo dip , salads , all American burger , soup. Everything came out piping hot and in a timely manner. The menu is loaded with options from steaks to burgers to pasta dishes and everything in between. I did my usual ask the waiter/waitress for their favorite. The waiter suggested either a burger or the spinach artichoke cream pasta. So i opted for the pasta. The portion was plenty and it even had plenty of chicken and shrimp mixed in too. Want just all pasta coats in the cream sauce, it had protein too! The grilled chicken strips was nice and tender and the shrimp was cooked just right. Shrimp wasn't rubbery like you get in some pasta dishes. The thing that got me was the cream sauce just seemed really salty. The staff was super friendly and the place was busy. Worst manager, EVER! I'm eating at the bar, and my friend, who is female with her daughter,ordered nachos with everything on the side. The manager Jake brought them out and told her she could not order them with everything on the side again. We were on our way to AZ from MN, spent the night in St. Joseph, MO and our hotel recommended 54th Street Grill for dinner. Three of the four of us ordered the filet mignon. Someone, not our waitress, came to our table and said they only had two filets left so I changed my order. He came back a SECOND time and said they only had one filet left so my sister-in-law ordered a pasta dish instead so my husband got the REMAINING filet. When it came, it was very Rare and he ordered it med rare so sent it back. Came back and it was STILL rare so he sent it back a THIRD time--it came back very charred on the outside, still rare on the inside so he just left it on the plate. Our waitress apologized profusely and said she'd make it right but didn't. Said she took the filets off our bill--the ONLY one who got a filet was my husband and his was inedible so he left the restaurant hungry. She did take his off the bill--the rest of us had to change our orders. Our food was okay but not what we wanted. She then said in addition to taking the filet off our bill, she'd take 10 percent off for all the trouble--not done. She charged me for a salad that was supposed to come with the filet but since I changed my order, she charged me for it even though she told me she would make it "right" since I had to change my order. We should have asked to speak to her manager but at that point, we were tired, frustrated and just wanted to go back to our hotel! Not a good experience!! read more

The atmosphere inside is really cool and reminds me a lot of how Red Robin used to decorate their restaurants. We started off with the Bavarian pretzel appetizer and they were delicious! The pretzel tasted comparable to an auntie Anne's pretzel and it came with a well-flavored white cheddar cheese dip which I've never had with pretzels before. I'd highly recommend them. For my dinner I had the chicken fried steak with a baked potato and Mac n cheese. The chicken fried steak was pretty good, but I wish I had gotten the chicken fried chicken. But getting to our meal...the steak was super tough and stringy which was not their norm...my Brussels sprouts had a weird taste and his adult mac and cheese was not edible...this was a disappointing meal for us..one we did not finish! I prefer the batter fried compared to the breaded, but they were still good. Husband had a French dip which he said was the best he's had in a long time. Daughter had plain burger and fries which she also liked. I tried the protein bowl (grilled chicken, steamed veggies, and rice). I wanted something with less calories after Thanksgiving. I have been here now a few times, only because I stay at the local Marriott. It is business of course, because I have a hard time anyone coming to St Jo's Missouri for pleasure. They have a decent beer selection, and the waitstaff is OK. The clientele is basically what you'd find in a backwoods dive bar but the G-rated version of the same. You see 20-years old mother of 3, trying to have an adult conversation after the kids bedtime so they are fuzzing like they'd do in an airplane seat - and at the same time you see a date going on in complete silence while all attention is on the big screens showing football.
