This is a place of a new Culture Traditions and Legacy and more . This place has a huge parking area.that can be seen from New Hampshire Avenue. As you go inside to the right you see the dining area , To the left , They have an ialse to go get take out . Far down the restaurant area yoy see the barista cashier area wirh great cashier staff and Ooe concept kitchen where they perform their magic to make your best foods you could ever want or ever find anywhere else . I hadn't been back in 7 years since the pandemic. This was my first time back . I handed in my resume to get the csshierand food runner position there . This place has their huge menus sign abive the barista when ordering inside or people can call in from ordering through the internet website QR CODE. MY Favorite things there are baklava , Spinalcopuda , Little Lamb Giro and more . This is a place where others tgat come there can be a part of something much bigger than themselves exploring and encountering a new Culture language and heritage. I hooe to come back here again sometime soon to have a new Job in Uganda the management will give me a chance prove myself what I can do as cashier and food runner . This place is a good place to come too to kick back and relax and have a great time . Please all Americans , Let's come back together there to boost business in . I remember how delicious Big Greek was back in the day. They had the Big Greek fries for (I think) $5, and gyros for a special price as well one day per week. My colleagues and I were obsessed, as was everyone else! Now it's just...average. Not sure if trying döner and shawarma made me feel like gyro is just a knock-off, or the quality went down, or I just don't like it anymore...but their prices are fair. There is ample parking. It doesn't taste bad. It's just...kinda average when compared to other options. Sad this day has come, because I really did love them way back when. In fact, I was a supporter. Absolutely filling and delicious. I ordered the gyro and it was everything I could've wanted. The lamb slices were juicy and tasty, the tzatziki sauce was on point (should asked them to put it on the pita first, and then the gyro meat, and then some more on top), and the pita was solid too. I ordered the hummus appetizer to be for takeout, and when I got home, it tasted great. The inside has some chairs and tables for seating and eating. Good amount of parking outside. The people working were pretty nice and my food came out within 10 mins (wasn't super busy). I'm definitely going to check them out again. read more

We had a little difficulty finding it even with GPS and had to make a u turn at a busy intersection but it was worth it. I got felafel over a Greek salad, my husband got gyro meat over a salad, my vegetarian cousin got Spanakopita, another cousin had shrimp over the Greek salad and my other cousin got grilled pork chops and another cousin got a pork bowl. Everyone was very happy with their food. Restaurant and rest rooms were clean. You order at the counter and they either give you a number or bring it to you. I've been here quite a few times and let me tell you, the fries and greenbeans are where it's at. You can get the fries plain, or with feta, or loaded up with meat and other stuff as a meal. At many places I try to eat somewhat healthy but it's a crime to come here and not get fries. The green beans come in a tomatoey sauce and are surprisingly delicious. What about the actual Greek stuff? It's ok. The gyros have good flavor but are often a little bit overdone. I would skip the chicken, it's bland. They recently swapped out their soda fountain from pepsi to coke (hubs was excited) and it's hard to beat the Wednesday special except now that I know you can just get the fries with gyro meat on them... hmm. Dilemma. It's not the absolute best Greek food but they are the best fries in town, IMNSHO. read more

While this little outpost has corporate looking decor ,the food is pretty close to the original. Gyro salad turned out to be a good choice. I am sad to report that the food did not live up to Greek standards. What do I mean? Well ... please read on. My wife and I ordered the "Big Greek Feast" which came with a pork skewer, a chicken skewer, and gyro meat. It also included 2 sides where we selected the "Big Greek French Fries" and a Greek Salad. All the proteins that came with the "Feast" were overcooked, to the point where some pieces were not chewable. So disappointing. And the Greek Salad was served in a container where there had a watery mess at the bottom ... so it did not appear to be freshly made. The fries somewhat saved the day, but even they appeared to be previously frozen. I know this in one visit, but I am not sure I would want to return. This was definitely a fantastic surprise! The gyro was so delicious and was so stuffed! The pita was fresh, just rightly toasted to perfection! I could've had more tzatziki sauce because I like it super saucy but it was good enough.I wish I ordered fries, they looked good at another table. Next time... I usually don't try new/different things but I decided to give the big Greek a chance. I order a Gyro as they were half price and the calamari. The bread on the gyro was DELICIOUS as was the the meat. Only thing I didn't like was all the Onions. The calamari was ok but I've definitely had better. The side of lettuce they give they might as well keep. The staff was extremely friendly. The place was nice and clean. Big greek bowl (chicken) - Not as big as the name suggest. The bowl was plenty of food for a normal serving but not more than many other rice bowl restaurants. The chicken was flavorful and moist although it didn't seem like there was much. I enjoyed the vegetables in the bowl a lot although they are vegetables I don't like at all restaurants (They did well on the vegetables). The white sauce was a very delicious yogurt taste and stood out as something I enjoyed a lot. The rice was very plain and had a sticky texture that didn't mix well in the bowl. Overall, not bad but not somewhere I would go again for a rice bowl. The fries had a great texture and were crispy even when cooled down. Although they didn't have any special flavor and could have used more salt. The price was high for the quality and quantity being very average. My friends got sandwiches and described them as decent but not a great value. The employees were friendly and could be seen working hard from the register. Service time wasn't fast, but was fair. Wife and I went for a lunch. This time we knew how big the portions were, and we ordered just one chicken salad bowl and an order of Greek French fries. Again enough food for a family of four! Really, really great Greek food. Service was fast and employees were friendly and helpful. We ordered the chicken big Greek bowl and the gyro (only $6 on Wednesdays!). Both were a lot of food and really flavorful. The bowl had lots of veggies, and the chicken was cooked well. The pita bread was delicious and came with multiple slices. So happy that the Big Greek Cafe opened up in Hillandale! I've enjoyed their other locations previously and am so glad to have had them for lunch today. I ordered online and the food was ready on time. The location is conveniently in the Hillandale shopping center next to Chipotle and the Mattress Warehouse. Started with dolmades and they tasted homemade! The side of tzatziki sauce was generous. I had the Big Greek bowl with chicken and it was flavorful-I couldn't get enough of the delicious chicken. Hubby got the the Famous Gyro Pita with Greek fries. The Greek fries (with feta cheese crumbles) were so good. Can't wait to add this place into our regular restaurant rotation! I love this restaurant not only for the great food but amazing customer service from CERTAIN employees. My mother and I came in 30 minutes before the place closed wanting to eat in, granted we weren't aware that it was closing. The cashier said out loud we're closing in 30 minutes very rudely and quickly and when I asked her what if she could repeat what she said, she replied "Never mind". RIP, $5 gyro deal on Wednesday (it's $6 now, and while it's still a deal, it just doesn't have the same ring to it as the $5 deal). I came here for lunch on a Sunday. Service was excellent! I wasn't expecting much from such a casual spot. We ordered the falafel (comes with three pieces and a side salad) and calamari as starters. The falafel came out looking extra crispy. They were deceptively small in size but just one piece was plenty filling if you want to save room for the rest of your meal. The calamari was adequate (on par with what I was expecting for the ambiance). We also ordered a small and large avgolemono soup, thinking that it was a cup vs. bowl scenario. The sizing is actually based on the carryout container size, so the large was quite large (I would estimate about 2.5x larger than the small). The soup also comes with fresh pita. The employee brought out our dishes as they were ready, and I appreciated that she announced each order as she set them out. All dishes were delivered with care. For my entree, I chose the spanakopita plate which comes with two sides. I chose the rice pilaf and roast Greek potatoes. I would've liked the spanakopita to be a little flakier, as it was a little soggy when I finally cut into it (but in a nit-picky way). It was a generous serving of the feta topping and Greek potatoes - one could have easily had their dinner in potatoes here! Wow! We had the regular fries and the Greek fries, the Greek burger, a fish sandwich, and a gyro! The gyro was absolutely fabulous! We highly recommend it. The fries were good by themselves! They are crunchy and delicious. I didn't think the Greek fries were anything special, because the fries by themselves were so good. The burger was good - big and tasty. On a friend's recommendation we tried the Big Greek Cafe in Bethesda and I gave it 5 stars a few weeks ago. It was terrific! Back in that area this past week and we decided to pick up dinner from the New Hampshire Ave location. Once again, absolutely delicious food! I ordered the moussaka and it was out of this world. Heavy in the meat , some eggplant and potatoes, topped with a bechamel and tomato based sauce that combine to make an incredible dish. This came with two sides and since there were three of us, we got two orders of fries. Crispy and delicious. I could have the moussaka daily! Large portion so I had the remainder for lunch the next day. Fantastic! The pork souvlaki was well received, tender and tasty meat, and it us served with Tzaziki, pita and salad. The gyro sandwich is plentiful and delish. So much meat that DH couldn't finish it! If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Looking forward to being back in the metro DC area again so I can enjoy another one if these fantastic meals! read more

As an appetizer we got the feisty feta (aka the best thing I've ever put in my mouth), and we split a piece of baklava cheesecake for dessert. Super excited to have tried this place out so near to wear I do my thrift shopping. The customer service was very friendly and professional, and the food was phenomenal ! The salmon bowl which is what I had was just perfect in every way. I can be so indecisive when it comes to choosing what I want to eat and that bowl was a perfect combination of healthy but filling all in one. The salmon was so flaky and moist and the sauces on top just blended so well with it all, the crunchiness of the cabbage and carrots were so satisfying I would order that bowl once a week maybe even switch it up cause they have options of different proteins which I love ! The chicken tenders was for my kid but they were so good couldn't help but to have a little bite, their fries were so crunchy and so soft at the same time loved it. The baklava was also good I saw they had a cheesecake baklava which I'll have to give a try, I enjoyed the syrup that was in it.
