Received a very nice letter from owner. As I stated he talks a good game. But would never let him near my bike again

We are interested in trying riding bikes, but would like to rent before actually purchasing. My question is...is this place located ON the greenway so we would not need a bike rack if we wanted to just rent for an hour or half a day? TIA

Hello! Yes, it is located right beside the parking area for the Neuse River Trail. The staff is fantastic and ready to rent a bike to you. They even have the wheeled carrier carts to pull children along safely behind you if needed. It’s a beautiful…

Huge fan of Trek bicycles! I've bought a bike from them before for my partner and it has done well…read more(we've had it about 5 years now). I came in recently because I am looking to buy a new road bike. This will be my first road bike (and I am using for a triathlon) so I was asking a lot of questions (thanks Lars!). Lars, who also does Ironmans, was very helpful in helping me understand the best bike for my needs, what type of adds I would need, and also made me aware of needing to buy pedals and shoes when I buy the bike. Who knew! While I didn't buy a bike that day, I learned a lot and am still on the hunt. They also have a bike repair shop where you can take your bike in to be serviced. It's a great place if you're looking for a bike.

My front derailleur broke, and I also needed an indepth tune-up. I was greeted by service manager Joel when I walked in, and he is absolutely the best! I can't brag about him enough. Friendly, engaging, proactive, and most of all, an expert mechanic in his own right who seeks to provide exceptional service to Trek's cudomers. Joel and his expert service team installed a new derailleur on my bike, and gave it an incredible tune-up. It now rides smooth as silk, and I can't thank everyone at Trek enough for the fine service they gave me. They can be sure I will brag about them every chance I get.

It's fairly inexpensive, and you usually get what you pay when purchasing rides. I checked out one where the electric assist did not work and put it back. The app will take some time to get used to until you've gone through your first use. It was nice to be with someone who had used and understood the service. I didn't struggle with the technology or retrieving the bike for rides. I was underwhelmed with the bikes. The handlebars appeared filthy and sticky, which was hard to notice until after I started riding. My hands were dirty until I could get near water and soap. Bike shares are known to be much safer, but I didn't feel safe. I could not control the electric assist speeds, and the seat started twisting after riding for a while. Seat twisting was dangerous for me. I'm still alive and well, but this wasn't the most enjoyable experience with rental bikes. The bike I rode seemed poorly kept up. Overall, the bikes allowed me to enjoy nature and socialization (without walking) with my friend, who I joined for the bike ride.

No slight against the Citrix Cycle program. I've used similar in London and Seattle and elsewhere…read more The docks are well placed around downtown Raleigh and as far out as the Museum of Art. It's a growing system and I did enjoy my short right a bit. That said, Raleigh is absolutely not a flat city. Even in downtown there are hills. Be sure that if you have any hills planned that you're getting one of the pedelic "electric assist" bikes. Otherwise, you're probably not going to have a good time. For an occasional rider, it's just $2 per trip or $6 for the day pass. It is hard to go wrong at that rate. Do bring a helmet because lots of people do not respect bicyclists. The used car salesman tactic is not appreciated. I've had this happen to me three times so far, so…read moreat this point it's a pattern. I always avoid the Cary store whenever I can because I've been up sold on three separate occasions, a water bottle holder, a cleaning product, and a kick stand. The latter time, my current kickstand was actually insulted before they recommended a new kick stand. First of all, the covid measures are a little over the top. Making customers stand in the baking sun without acknowledgment for 15 minutes until someone comes to retrieve them is a little ridiculous. The store is quite large and everyone is wearing masks, why so militant about the number of people inside? There was never THAT many people trying to come in the store, and there is plenty of space to spread people out in the air conditioning. Trek's covid customer experience is far worse than any other triangle area business I've been to, including restaurants. If you can't figure out a way to accommodate customers better than you currently are, you should just remain closed until things get back to normal. Secondly, the upselling was tiresome and cringe worthy. Trying to get in and out of your store to accomplish a simple task is nearly impossible. I had an appointment to drop my bike off for routine maintenance service. My time was needlessly wasted as employees suggested a host of products I didn't want (everything from cleaning solutions to a new kickstand - because the associate mocked the existing after market kick stand that had been installed). It was a waste of my time and it's an uncomfortable experience for the customer. I could have been home and back to work 20 minutes earlier if I wasn't fending off your associates attempts to sell me your crap. You need to reimagine your entire customer service experience with the customer in mind.
