Cannot recommend Hilltop Bicycle Center highly enough…read more I am a casual rider with a sporting-goods-store-quality bike that I started riding more seriously last year. I was having trouble with my gears so I began researching bike shops. Not being a serious rider, I had two concerns: 1) being sold services/repairs I did not need and 2) "bike snobs" because I do not have a fancy bike. After reading reviews and comparing prices, I chose Hilltop Bicycle Center and wow...what a great experience! Josh was working on a bike out front of the shop when I drove up. He went into the shop when he saw me, greeted me and asked how he could help when I walked in. I told him about my bike and the problems I was having. He had me bring my bike in, listened to my issues, looked at my bike and made a few different price-level recommendations. In my head, I chose what I wanted to get done based on the options I was presented, but I asked Josh what he thought I needed just to see if he would try to up-sell me. His suggestion was right in line with what I thought I needed without trying to sell me the other services I really do not need right now. They did a mini-tune up on my bike, replaced the chain (Josh showed me how to tell it was worn and needed to be replaced) and I purchased hand grips which they installed. They did great work at a VERY fair price. Everybody at the shop was friendly, they answered my simple questions without making me feel stupid and, just like Josh promised, my bike feels brand new after they finished with it. Hilltop Bicycle obviously knows how to take care of serious bikers and offers a lot of services for them, but I found them to be extremely fair and friendly to a casual biker such as myself as well. I will return here for any of my biking needs and if I get "more serious" and ever look to upgrade my bike, I will be shopping here.

A) The business is successful B) That if it is still in operation, that it won't shut down soon C) How this business has a 4.8 review on Google If indeed the business has shutdown, don't know why he hasn't made that clear on his voicemail message, on the front door of the business, and on his website.

After a year of trying to get my Aventon Sinch repaired at E-bike shops in Mansfield and Farmers…read moreBranch with no luck or hope, only months of broken promises and aggravation, I found E-Bike Central had opened in Temple. A phone conversation with the owner renewed hope my Sinch might live again. Within minutes of bringing my bike in the door it was surrounded by all four employees diagnosing the problem each of the aforementioned e-bike shops couldn't in months of trying. Within 15 minutes the E-Bike Central team had my Sinch running like new! I won't mention how little they would accept for resurrecting my bike, other than to say I had to resort to tipping each employee $20 to keep my self-respect intact. By the way, E-Bike Central's showroom is like AN E-BIKE WONDERLAND, with dozens of cool models I never knew existed despite hours of e-bike shopping all over cyberspace. These guys are not just golden, but actually renewed my confidence that excellent business-people still exist; they're just few and far between. Suffice to say my 200 mile round-trip to E-Bike Central in Temple was well worth it. I can't thank these guys enough for saving my Sinch that two other e-bike shops FAILED MISERABLY to accomplish, despite $150 out of my pocket, and hundreds of miles in multiple round-trips to the D/FW metroplex.

Gordon, think that was his name, took very good care of me. We talked about my needs and what I was looking for in a bicycle. I felt better about my experience here than the last shop I checked out. Prices also seemed way more reasonable. At this point, I'm still researching bicycles; however, I have a feeling Colonel's may be where I finally make a purchase.

The owner promptly found the problem (derailer was rubbing), adjusted my tire pressures, then watched me ride to assess the brakes. He proceeded to make necessary adjustments. While I was waiting, I talked to him about bike seats and he explained the different styles and densities. I chose one that he immediately offered to switch out, then had me ride again to check seat height and position. My bike is MUCH more comfortable now and rides like new. Pricing was fair. I felt very well cared for and I WILL be back!

We spent over $200 on a new brake system for my 12-year-old son's e-bike, only for it to be returned to us with non-functioning brake lights. The shop failed to mention that the new system would disable this safety feature, and we only discovered the hazard when a friend pointed it out. When we reached out to rectify this, the shop was unwilling to help. Other mechanics have since confirmed the entire system must be replaced again to restore the lights. I am incredibly disappointed that my son's safety was disregarded. We will be taking our business elsewhere.

Damon exceeded my expectations! Not only did he make sure my trike was ready, he replaced a tire that had a busted inner tube, at no cost to me. He took his time to make sure all parts were working. I couldn't be more pleased. His prices were also reasonable. I would definitely recommend using their mobile service. I didn't have to worry about fitting my trike in the back of my truck, which would have been a hassle. Damon's mobile truck is like a mini bike shop on wheels. My dog and I have been riding around the neighborhood in our new ride!!

Terrible customer service. I put a bicycle in for a tuneup and it required some new parts as well…read more I received a phone call and a text stating the bike was ready. So I went to pick the bike up, was told it was good to go, paid the $500 + bill, and only after I paid did they tell me the bike was unsafe to ride. They waited until after I paid to let me know my bike is unsafe to ride. There was a pre existing crack in the frame that I was not aware of. It is very seedy to knowingly let a customer pay for something they know to be unsafe. I tried to see if we could work out a deal to where I paid for the parts put onto the bike, or for any kind of resolution, knowing they did work on the bike. But, I was told it was not their problem. Per the owner's response: "The crack was found after the work was completed." Let that sink in. I paid for a "New Bike Feel" tune up package and the first thing of that service is (per Cadence's Website) a "Full bicycle strip down & overhaul of the frame (includes bottom bracket, hubs, & headset)." The location of the large crack was down on the bottom bracket. The second the front chain ring was pulled to service the frame and bottom bracket, the mechanic could clearly see the gouge and crack, work should have ceased on an unsafe frame, and I as the owner of the frame should have been notified in order to either approve any continued work, or to tell them not to waste their time servicing an unsafe bike I can no longer ride. However, we are being told the crack was found AFTER the work was completed. This tells me that one of three things has occurred: 1) At best the mechanic is inept and missed a clear safety concern while he was working on the bike (what else has been missed while servicing the community's bicycles?) 2) That they did not deliver on their promise to service the frame and bottom bracket and that is why the crack was missed until after the other parts were installed on the bike. Either way, they happily and greedily took my money. 3) This was an intentional act and they weaponized ignorance for a money grab by a seedy and greedy shop owner. Anytime I have dropped something off at a mechanic, whether it be a bicycle, my car, or even my lawnmower, the second a safety concern was found, I was notified of the matter for it to be addressed. I've even been told by mechanics that they will not work on my truck because it is too old, too worn out, and flat out too unsafe. I can respect that because it was honest and the shop was not going to let me waste my money. I paid for the work done because it was right and moved onto a new vehicle. However, here we have a shop that will either miss something completely and claim ignorance. Or, we have a shop that willfully and intentionally wastes your money knowing that they are working on an unsafe product you should not use. The shop claimed they called me (which is technically true), but I have a text stating the bike is ready for pickup and voicemail stating the same thing. Even when I was standing at the cash register, chatting with the sales associate, money in hand, I was not made aware of the issue. At no time was I made aware of the safety concerns until AFTER they wasted and took my money. One way or another, Cadence made a mistake and refused to own up to that mistake. This shop seems to only care about an issue AFTER they waste your hard earned money.
