My partner and I have been to The Billiard Company in December 2018, once in 2023, and just last night. My opinion of them has been pretty similar every time. First off, I always have a great time here. The staff is super friendly and chill. The space is well arranged with many pool tables, a bar area, and some arcade games. The couches are made out of pool tables, which is fun. The drinks are tasty and service, which comes to your table, is fast. I love the music! There are some things that could be better. The bathrooms are always kind of sticky and running out of soap. I love a clean bathroom, so I hope they can spruce that up. The food is standard bar menu (wings, sliders, mozzarella sticks, etc.). The side tables could be cleaned more often. The only thing I strongly dislike is this boxing game. We were at table 20 last night to play pool, and the awful, jarring sound of the punching bag being rocked into the machine spoiled the ambiance a bit. Will definitely return. read more

Just wanted another venture, and my boyfriend and I decided on pool. I wish the location had more parking and less meter rules. Feed the meter or you'll get a ticket ! When we entered, you have to show ID and give it to the staff member at the register. There are ample amount of pool tables, gaming section, lounge, area, and hookah sitting area. We played pool for about two hours and decided on ordering more drinks. My drink was a margarita on the rocks, but it taste like juice on the rocks. The second order I had to ask for a shot to add to the margarita. The food was a C minus , I ordered the sampler plate and the fried wings were unseasoned and white. My boyfriend and I just ate the chicken fingers and two seasoned wings. I made sure to tell the server and show him how the food looked. We even ordered sautéed shrimps but it wasn't good. I had maybe 1-2 drinks my friend as well and everyone there seemed to be having a good time also. The room has a nice street View and plenty of couches to get comfy on. I came again the other night and got a completely different experience , the bartender didn't seem to be well groomed and was touching everything in sight & then making drinks and touching garnishes and straws it really made me uncomfortable to order another drink. At one point I ordered food my friend chicken wings well done they were tiny but good. My food was so oily I ordered a shrimp quesadilla there was an $8 up charge which wasn't a problem but they gave no sauces for the quesadilla not even a salsa. Definitely one of the worst pool halls I ever been to. Everything is overpriced from their food & drinks to pool rate. They had a 2 for 1 vodka offer that they have on a board by the entrance, but the bartender said that offer was no longer available. We had to insist since they lazily left the board up so she said she would offer it to us. It is $10 per person per hour. Now most pool halls reduce the rate as the number of players increase per table, but not this location. In addition, one of my group members had left and notified the bar, yet they still charged us for his time til the rest of us had checked out. The service charge is already including in the bill AND they charge you a 3.5% fee if you pay by credit card. Horrible place and service. Unbelievable hidden fees. Bathroom is disgusting!! I came here for a date actually we came to play pool & some arcade style games. The concept of this place has the potential to be greater than it actually is. Forest Hills is not the city & I refuse to pay city prices for a mediocre billiard. The drinks are outrageously expensive and contain house liquor. If you're going to charge $16 for a 4 oz drink make sure you're pouring up the good stuff! The ambiance is all off. So this place is located on the second floor above some retail stores. As you walk up the stairs you can see a menu on the wall advertising drink specials for each day of the week. I went on a Sunday and Sundays special was supposed to be sex on a beach, advertised at 2 for 1 and beer buckets 5 for $25. I was with my date and I was charged $9 per person, per hour. On my way to my table I notice how unkept this place was. The furniture was old and dirty, there were stains on the seats. The pool tables weren't much better, they were also old, dirty and stained. I asked the server about the special pricing advertised on the wall and she informed me that those specials were available "pre covid" and they would not honor the price. So I asked to speak to a manager and there wasn't one present so she referred me to the bartender. The bartender also would not honor the advertised pricing. This place has the nerve to charge extra due to covid 19. It even says on my receipt "covid 19 surcharge". Mind you they didn't follow any CDC guidelines. No hand sanitizer, no temperature check, employees didn't sanitize between customers, people weren't required to wear a mask will moving around the establishment. Wow, have billiard halls changed since the days of JC's, Golden Cue, Elite and two others from a time long enough I find it difficult to recall their names. All were well populated during the day, crowded at night and typically well lit inside, with difficulty finding a decent seat. None of this held true at The Billiard Company for the two hours I was there remained rather empty, yet sported the best real estate out of the above mentioned. Inside the decor is that of combining Webster Hall and Minnesota Fats. The lighting for the tables and on the walls is well designed to furnish proper amount for players and the viewers. The music was a mix of 1990's house and some newer dance music which I am mainly in the dark about. The floors are so worn that duct tape had to be applied in many spots, which hurts the look inside as most everything else from front to back is quite classy. Red and ruby seats designed within a pool table make for a very comfortable squat whether between shots or to have a chat over a drink. With a full bar and a straight forward menu, I find it difficult to comprehend why the hall was so empty as to patrons. Putting forth a slice of personal opinion, The Billiard Company must attract a later night crowd. Waitresses service is available and the two young ladies began their shift just as we were leaving, drat! Buying beers at the bar was a bit of a chore as the bouncer had to keep calling for the bartender, possible part owner is my guess, to address my needs. It's been a while since I've visited this establishment I tend to forget this place is in my surrounding area. I stopped by this week on a Monday & for a Monday night it was ok. We got our balls & headed to our table once settled we enjoyed ourselves playing a few rounds of pool. While playing we had a few beers not bad , since we were all the way in the back it seemed to take the girl a little time to stop by but she managed to come around & check on us. After our game we decide to sit for a bit by the couches I kinda forgot how comfy the couches are, nice seating area. They play a good variety of music , enjoyable while playing or seating down. As for the place itself nice open space , plenty of tables , comfy seating area & a small bar. You're greeted by a security guy dressed in black, who checks ID and then go to the bar for a table and services. Tables are $9 per person and the staff is polite. The decor features sofas in between tables that look like little pool tables with red cushions and pillows. The carpet is black to match the felt on the tables. Now that I think about it, a rap video can be shot here.. The felt on tables are black, uneven and moves around a bit. My hands were black when I went home and it was probably due to the felt tables. As a kid, I'd go to this place when it was completely different. Light jazz music, well-lit, nice tables and a relaxed vibe with mature players enjoying the fun. It changed and became a place that plays top-100 LOUD. When I say loud, I mean my voice was hoarse from trying to yell over it. Either way, it was definitely a pleasant surprise that exceeded my expectations in our current Covid climate. Jerell at the door was so down to earth and personable....he was really the reason we were drawn in. My girl and I also met Kevin the manager who was attentive, friendly and gave me a genuine vibe....even though he's a Mets fan =P It felt good to finally just chill and enjoy the music with some drinks without the crazy spending limits and micromanaging. TBC is best described as an upscale pool hall & lounge. As you enter, you head upstairs to the main floor where you'll find the bar and a sectioned-off lounge area with couches and tables. The larger area to the left has the pool tables and table games with more couches and bar stools and TVs along the wall, typically with sports games playing. The ambiance is pretty intimate with low lights and dark decor. They have table service so you don't need to go to the bar every time for a drink and their hookah guys that will hook you up with something to smoke as you lose to your best friend in pool. Their menu is your typical bar fare. Nothing to rave about, but this isn't the place for gourmet food. The music has always been on point when I've been here. It's typically hip hop and r&b but they've mixed Top 40 and a bit of reggae & dancehall in as well. It's not much of a place to dance the night away though. TBC never lets me down and I'd probably visit more often had I lived closer. It's not a bad place to start your evening or even to wind down and end a night out. The bouncer looked at my ID, which I am above the qualified age, and told me to turn the ID around. Then he spoke really loud at, yelling to say, how am I supposed to see the ID like that. Because I was so confused, he thought I had an attitude and threw me and my party out. I felt concern so I called the manager, Kevin. After putting me on hold for an extended period of time, on 4/27/19 @ 11pm, his response was that he is sorry but cannot let that energy inside. We then converse with the manager and bouncer, and could not finish a single sentence without the bouncer lying or interrupting or threatening our party. I would never recommend anyone who wants to spend quality time with anyone else to visit such a place. I used to come here to play ping-pong, which they don't have anymore! I was so upset. They do have air hockey and mini-basketball, so those are nice. On air hockey, the points go up to 7 for $2, so it's a quick game. We also played billiards, which was fine except for my lack of skill lol.
