The best bar in Forrest Hills, in the heart of historic Station Square. Super tight space, stuck in the 90s in the sweetest way possible. Fun menu, with some chefy touches on many dishes beyond the usual bar food (I know the pork chop has a loyal cult following) but I usually rock with the reliably solid and sloppy pub burger medium rare, likewise the best I the neighborhood. I recently got a pro tip to go with the molten and pungent house made Garlic Cheese and I was glad I followed her recommendation. Staff are seasoned pros and the crowd is generally full of interesting locals and heavy on longtime regulars befitting its longevity. The tight premises especially at the bar encourages conversation between fellow patrons. I would say in theory this would be a great spot to hit before or after a show at Forest Hills Stadium which it's basically located at the entrance to but unless you are somehow first in line as soon as the door opens here for the day I can't even imagine getting close to the entrance of the place on a show night. read more

Brunch was decent overall. The eggs on the Benny were poached well, and the burger patty was cooked just right. Nothing really stood out, though. I did ask for my potatoes extra crispy, but they didn't come out that way. Also, I was curious why there was only one burger option for brunch, and it wasn't even served with an egg option. The place itself felt a bit dark and cramped, and while our server was fine, they didn't check back in during the meal to see how everything was. This little dive bar ( they pride themselves on that) has amazing food. More than the name Pierre is French here. Great cocktails, and super friendly staff. Service was great. It's tiny so not really built for large parties, but we managed to high top table for 5. Had mussels to share, steak au poive , a steak sandwich ( 1 of 3 varieties) great salad, perfectly cooked burger / fries & onion rings . We'll definitely try it again when I'm in the area. "Kitchen opens at 5!" But you can't be mad about it when you're in the most fun dive bar in all of Forest Hills. Yes it's giving divey vibes with Cajun charm. The inside has such fun decor that as soon as you walk in you can't help but smile. Couldn't stay for Mussel Tuesday's but you bet your bum I'll be back to try them. Shout out to the dude tending the bar that was super friendly. A High Noon was had by my friend and I as we quickly caught up before heading to our next commitments. Finally, I loved the ode to Queens with the vintage posters. Also fun memorabilia with Jon Fevaro's autograph darning the wall. I am a huge fan so I found this super cool!!! I love the wings and the vibe and servers and bartender Matt, but the favoritism by the manager really sucks. My husband and I are locals and we used to come once a week. But every time we come when the manager is working, we see her giving random people chocolates or shots. Very selective. What really disappointed us was the size of a glass of coquito this year. The glass was so small and filled with ice. We only got less than 4 ounces of coquito. Very distasteful compared to every other drink they serve including the hot cider. I had to write a review because the experience really sucked the last time we went. read more

Ok..... I'm gonna gush!! I was born in Forrest Hills and come back to visit my family. I've never been to Dirty Pierre's!! What a fantastic place!!!! The character. The charm. The amazing bartenders and servers. The steep stairs to the basement bathroom! The awesome fish tacos. I had such a great time. Jessica served us one night and Matt another. Both amazing humans I hope to see again. Incredible. I haven't been here in years, but was sooo glad to have returned. Came here with a couple of friends for brunch on a Sunday. The place is small small, so my expectation was that it would be a while before we could get a table for three. I was wrong, we were seated almost immediately. Maybe we just had good luck. Brunch menu was pretty great -- something for everyone. Some brunch menus are pretty weak, but this had a nice selection of things I probably wouldn't have made at home. I opted to go for the California club. Again, my expectations were blown away. I thought I'd get a small sandwich with some fries. This sandwich was HUGE. I usually clean my plate, but I had to take half the sandwich home. As good out of the container as it was on the plate. Drinks were also great. We had more than a few, including the one that came with brunch. Service as prompt and pleasant. Food was delicious. Ambiance was chill. I can't wait to go back and I'm kicking myself for not returning sooner. read more

Brunch experience Food: ordered the pancakes (fruit cooked within) with a side of salad (substitute bacon) and sangria for my drink order. The pancakes were very well cooked and delicious. You get a large portion (3 large discs). I could not finish it. Having them cook with the fruit is the way to go. The sangria was just okay. The salad was a basic salad mixed greens but the dressing was yummy. Service: server was very nice and attentive. Continued to refill water and refill our second drink order in a timely manner. But was never overbearing. Was there for a while and never felt rushed. Price. Decent price for amount of food... drinks might not be worth it. I've had better brunch drink options for the price. Ambiance: the place is a bit dark and worn in. You can tell people that come here are regulars. This was my first time here. Sat in the back by the window that was covered by some makeshift drape. I was disappointed to see a roach crawling on the drape. Tried to kill it but didn't die so I covered it with the little syrup container. I would love to come back but the roach made me uncomfortable to sit in a dark place for eating and makes me wonder about cleans lines of the kitchen. read more

WOW!WOW!WOW! Best burgers ever! The two sliders were huge and shareable because we ordered the mussels. One of the best mussels I have ever had! They are swimming in an extremely flavorful broth that was taken home to use with pasta and shrimp the next evening! That was incredible too! The restaurant is small but was cozy. Arrive early so you don't have a long wait. (absolutely worth it if you do). Raquel is the best! She is welcoming, friendly and lovely to chat with. She is very busy but she makes you feel at home and like you are dining with your best friend. She makes visiting a lovely experience. I lived in the area for many years and it took me moving away to finally come here. What a mistake on my part! Where do I even start. This is one of the best hidden gems in Queens. The vibes are absolutely phenomenal. The staff is so personable and fun. It's nothing but laughs the second you stop into the door. Do not miss the popcorn chicken, fries, onion rings, or the chorizo quesadilla. Pre-concert service by Jessica and las was epic. Food delicious and hot! Plenty of money well spent. Post concert experience with Mohawk manager was unprofessional and over the top. One of our silly friends went through the kitchen door and we obnoxiously pressed the service bell. Where we understand we should not have been in the kitchen but Mohawk manager screamed and berated us until we left the establishment. I came here for the first time last night after driving back from the Catskills. My Father-in-law recommended the Bistro Burger. Which is served between two English muffins (which are HUGE)! My one mistake, was I didn't read any reviews, including the one from the Post, which mentioned the delicious Garlic Cheese. So, I had cheddar and added sautéed mushrooms and scallions. Y'all, this burger was definitely a fork and knife adventure....but good golly miss Molly! It was delicious! The fries were perfect bistro style fries and the spring mix with the burger was magnificent! I can't wait to come back and try some other dishes at Dirty Pierre's! This is one of the best restaurants in Forest Hills! We view this as our steak and potato restaurant. The food is always top quality, whether we have gotten steak, a burger, or the mussels. Everything from the semolina bread to the amount of garlic is great. Don't come here though expecting fancy seasoning or complex sauces. What they do best is keeping things basic and high quality. Beef stew is lauded but I feel I have had better and my wife has a better and much more delicious take on this age old classic. 40 types of beer. I've been coming to Dirty Pierre's since my college days and it's a spot I frequent with my gf now as well. It's just a chill spot with amazing vibes. Food: French Steak Sandwich: Simply put, this is just an amazing sandwich. Good steak, garlic cheese and sautéed shallots. It's great because of its simplicity and the flavors just go well together. Love their collection of sides, it just feels right to pair a steak sandwich with some great onion rings. All in all, the food is the perfect pair with a beer. I've also gotten a ton of other items on the menu from their quesadilla to their mussels night, all amazing, so can't go wrong with anything here! Drinks: I love the huge collection of beers. I always opt for the golden monkey, it's become a staple drink for me now. But they have def also make some great tequila sodas. Always a pleasure to be here. Especially on a cold night. Really warm and welcoming. Yummy cosmo. Actually all cocktails and drinks are very good and pretty potent. Wendy, Pam and Raquel are always amazing servers. Super friendly and helpful. Food as always is really good. It's burger night so hubby had one with caramelized onions and I went for portobello mushroom with roasted peppers and mozzarella. Just perfect. It smells really good in here and the juke box is playing cool tunes. We must have been here 40 times and it's always a good time. See you next snowstorm. For date night I was in charge of chosing where to eat before catching a movie at Midway. I chose DP because I was craving a shrimp quesadilla. Upon entering I was quickly reminded of how small of a restaurant DP really is. We were greeted instantly and were seated within two minutes which was good because I started to feel claustrophobic. My heart was set on the shrimp quesadilla, but I found it strange that it didn't come with your standard salsa and sour cream. Instead it came remoulade. The quesadilla was delicious. The shrimp was fresh and lightly seasoned, but the three cheese blend with the sautéed peppers and onions stole the show. I asked for sour cream and sliced avocado which was an upcharge. My hunny ordered the mussels which seems like a staple at DP. Every other table had a big bowl of it. The aroma from the mussels filled the area which you couldn't help but moan and look over to see who had what. We both ordered coronas. I had mine with grenadine. I listened to a friend who told me that I should try the mussels and I am so glad I listened... they're delicious and I can't not get them every time I go! The other options are good though too, and i really like the fries! The service is consistently good and although it's not on the menu, I asked for a spicy margarita (it's summer now!) and the bartender did a fantastic job - just enough kick but not overly spicy so that I can't enjoy it. My husband and I have been meaning to come here for the mussels. Since we are moving within the next month, we are trying to knock things off the Forest Hills bucket list. We've been to DP other times, but only for beers at the bar. Overall, the mussels were disappointing. The mussels are what this place is known for and they just missed the mark. They were on the verge of rubbery and overly salted (yes, mussels are naturally salty WHY ADD MORE?). I am sad to say that the mussels just missed the mark. DP doesn't offer happy hour specials either which I assume is because they are a small business - WAIT, did you know they were a small business? because they freakin' plaster it everywhere. The table service was pretty unfriendly/ not attentive. I believe tuesdays are their mussel nights were you get a huge bowl for ~14$ (not sure if the prices are different now because I went at the end of 2019). I would had never thought that mussels this amazing would come out of a bar. Typically when I think of seafood I imagine an actual seafood restaurant. The flavor of the sauce that the mussels are sitting in is unmatched. I've only had mussels this good at a place in London. You MUST get a side of bread with the mussels. The bread dipped in the mussel sauce is so incredibly juicy my mouth is almost watering thinking about it. One bucket is more than enough for two people to comfortably share as long as you order the bread. I took off one star because I wasn't too crazy about the buffalo wings although they weren't terrible. I did enjoy the grilled andouille which we ordered as another appetizer. I love this place. I have been here numerous times and I'm always happy with the food, service and atmosphere. We went for Sunday brunch. We ordered the mussels, chicken pasta dish and a BLT. Brunch comes with 2 drinks and we all had the Sangria. We love the mussels! The pasta is a huge serving and is really tasty. My friends love the white sangria. I'm not a fan.
