Awesome mashed potatoes! Not really anything unique about them, just really good homemade real mashed potatoes. The white gravy is awesome too. The only entree they serve or offer is chicken strips but they're lightly battered and really tasty. The mac and cheese is also really good. Potential but needs help quick. I like the idea of this joint, fast quick and simple....but needs some changes to be successful in my opinion. The major issue is the place only offers the chicken tender portion of the "bird", and some pathetic sides. If you are going to claim "The Bird" title, you better offer some wings or thighs at least. Otherwise, it should be appropriately named "The Chicken Tender". Restaurant is very basic with little seating/eating area. Needs advertising pictures, more food options, and major improvement in quality of food for the price. We tried a few tenders, tenders on roll, cornpones, and mac n cheese. The only thing that was OK was the chicken tender itself.....partially attributed to the sauce options. The tender on roll is a joke.....you get the long skinny tender thrown on a tiny round roll with nothing else. The mac n cheese was lame, honestly had much better from frozen boxes. Cornpones were ok, but the tiny raspberry butter was disappointing. Overall I feel like this place was a quick and poorly thought idea to make some profit with little thought as to what customers want. After my first visit I feel a bit ripped off. I will wait a long time to try again....hopefully it will still be open with some good improvements. read more

This place is pretty good. We were heading down to orem from a family party and knew we weren't going to survive the rest of the drive unless we ate, so we stopped here. At first I was not happy with the amount of food for the price because it didn't look like much. But man was it good and shockingly filling. We ended up having a few mini bites left over. I am always so excited when something new pops up in Syracuse. I finally got to try The Bird today and it was tasty! I always worry places in Syracuse won't stay open unless they are perfect. The chicken tenders, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes with white gravy, and cornpone were all great. My only issue was with the service. I saw 5 employees who all saw me, but I was only acknowledged by two of them, with one being a half smile from someone in the back. I was the only person there and the sauce bar was messy. I don't know why someone couldn't clean that up as they were obviously not busy or why one of the employees who were having a pretty in depth conversation about the benefits of a real book vs a Nook. People still use Nooks? Food can be great, but everything else has to be, too, for them to survive. I would be a bit more lenient on cleanliness/customer service if they were busy, but they were not so it's 4* from me. read more

I stopped here for a snack after riding my bicycle on Antelope Island. I had a tender slider type sandwich. The chicken was crunchy outside and tender inside. I enjoyed it immensely. I also had the Mac and cheese side and it was ok. It was creamy and cheesy but Mac slightly overdone. read more

My husband wanted to try this place, and I have to say I walked away disappointed. The tenders were juicy, but the breading was soggy and there was so much pepper I had to dip it in quite a bit of sauce to temper it. This is my first time here. I haven't tasted the food yet. But the customer service was very poor. I don't like being yelled at when I walk through the door. Wait until I reach the counter to ask to take my order. Maybe ask if I have any questions instead of asking what I'd like to order today. If I am asking what sauces you have, maybe I don't know. We used "The Bird" to cater our Company Christmas dinner. The food was ready to go when I arrived. The staff were very friendly and helpful in hauling all of the food out to my car. The portions were generous and we had plenty of food for our group with enough left over for lunch the next day! The food was hot and delicious and they sent everything we would need right down to the little cups of raspberry butter for our corn pones. This place is AMAZING!! We live in Syracuse and waited Way to long to try this place. The mashed potatoes are too die for!!! We got the family feast and had enough for my husband and I, our three kids and two neighbor kids. We got the mini bites, mashed potatoes, and fries. My kids and husband loved it all!!!! This little chicken place is great! Their nuggets and strips are fresh and handmade. The nugget bowl and salad are both delicious. But those corn pones are the BEST! Their raspberry butter is heavenly and pairs perfectly with a warm fresh corn pone. The good: The chicken was tasty and the mac & cheese the menu is simple to understand. They have a large variety of sauces as well I taste of three different kinds and they were all good. The bad: Looks like Management was nowhere in sight just a bunch of teenagers like your typical fast food. My food came up in less than 30 seconds so I'm not sure if that's good or bad. The teenager didn't really seem to want to be there. Typical... He didn't bother asking me if I wanted it to go or stay. So they put in it to go container and I eat it there. Not much for seating. And if you're going to tease me about a spicy chicken for Tuesday's please don't put it up on the menu. Especially if I'm not local and I can't get it now. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. You should have it every day. Find another reason to get people in on Tuesday. On the meal plans portions are small. worst customer service ever. ordered online through the bird website and received 2 sides and cornpones. when i ordered 3 complete family meals. i was told it was not their problem. so i went to the store to pick up after paying 30 dollars for delivery. when i got there they were hanging out with non employess and were distracted. my order was sitting in the to go orders. so clearly it was on the store. i figured i would call monday to let the owner know of the issues. i had hoped that she could help clear this up, but i was treated far worse by her than her employees. read more

It pains me to have to post a bad review. Being that this is a new and local restaurant, I would love to see it succeed. The concept is great and the atmosphere is nice and inviting. The food and customer service was awful. The first thing I wish I knew was that there is really no place or convenient way to eat at the establishment. This however has no effect on my two star review. The service was just awkward. Any questions we asked were basically responded to with confusion. I had to ask for our drink and water cups twice. We were given a limited number of sauce cups. This made me wonder if we were limited to only that many sauces. Still not sure if that was the case. We ordered a family pack for the four of us. There wasn't any plates available. There was only three seats at the only table inside. We ripped apart the to go boxes and pulled up a bench to accommodate ourselves. The food was completely unacceptable at any price. I can microwave a frozen meal with better results. The only possible saving grace could have been the cornpones, but they were cold and tasted slightly stale. The raspberry butter tastes great. read more

The decor is minimal but works. The fellow at the cash register seemed timid but warmed up when we started talking. He explained how the menu works. We ended up getting the chicken tender and bites with fries. They have a self serve sauce station with a variety of sauces. We had the fry sauce and sweet and sour. Everything was fresh and good. Very tender chicken strips! Actually, probably the best I've had while in Utah. Their sides weren't bad at all. The prices are excellent!
