    French toast

We spent the morning at Lamar Valley and decided to drop by the small quaint town for a quick breakfast. Not having internet connection, we tried this place out of whim. It's your average breakfast diner joint with limited menu options . I got the combo #1 which came with egg, choice of meat, pancake and toast. It was alright and expected. My son got the French coast combo #4 with choice of meat. My wife got the breakfast special. Overall, it filled our tummy but nothing to write a 4 stars review on. The wait staff was very nice although the interior looked a bit run down.

Trout, French fries, veggies, and salad!

The food here was terrific! The French fries are homemade and amazing!! The service was decent! We sat outside, which was very nice! We did end up spending $70 for two people, and the restrooms were small and not the best in town

Decided to grab lunch here after driving across Lamar valley. The place had both indoor and outdoor seating. It was a bit busy when we arrived around 12pm but got even busier when we left around 1pm. I went with the rainbow trout which was cooked in a pan. I wished they had a healthier version where it was grilled. It tasted ok. My included fries they were crunchy in terms of texture which is always a plus but tasted a bit dull as if they were out for a while. My wife went with the salad that had turkey. It was just an average salad. Finally we got two coffees and they were pretty cold. We had a weird incident where our waitress refused to give us the WiFi password stating it was for employee use only but overheard the other waitress giving it to another customer. We just asked the other waitress to give us the password and she did. Overall would try a different place if I were here

Small breakfast spot in Cooke City to stop before heading into Yellowstone NP. Not much else was open so we decided to try this place out. The service was great. Not very busy here thankfully. Good was very filling and great. I ended up cleaning my plate and sharing across the table too! Bacon wasn't the usual crispy bacon I'm used to but still cooked and tasty though. Eggs and hash browns were fantastic and I was so full after stopping here! Coffee here wasn't quite a favorite though. I did hear that the coffee/tea at elevation can be a little weaker so I'm not sure if that's what it was. I'd recommend stopping in through if you are taking this route into or out of Yellowstone though.

Cheeseburger and fries, made fresh to order and very delicious!

During our trip to Yellowstone, my girlfriend and I drove through the northeast entrance of Yellowstone National Park and decided to stop by a place to eat before coming across the bistro in the small town of Cooke city. According to the Yelp reviews I've read, People say this place is overpriced but honestly this place isn't that expensive considering this restaurant is in the middle of nowhere. Check was $23 for 2 burgers, fries, and a cup of coffee. Sure the menu was pretty basic compared to your average restaurant, but everything was made fresh to order and the Fries were piping hot. Also the server was very attentive and laid back. The only gripe I had with this place is the lipstick stain on my girlfriends cup of coffee(time for new ones?).

Knew we weren't going to find a lot of food options in Yellowstone, so chose to stop at the Beartooth Café before entering. Cooke city is a cute little town that was hopping at the end of August. We did have to wait 10 or 15 minutes for a table, but there is a cute souvenir shop right next-door that kept us busy while we were waiting. The restaurant staff is super friendly and helpful, and the food really hit the spot. We were grateful for the chance to get something good to eat and use the restroom before heading into the park. They also have a gas station so we could fill up and not have to worry about that either. If this is the route you were taking on your visit to Yellowstone, I would definitely recommend a stop here!

Food was a simple and yummy find across from our motel. My burger was charred just right, the bun wad very dry; the side salad was deliciously crisp. This was a shock to us, never heard of such a thing!!!

We walked in here with not the highest of hopes but hungry bellies, and were extremely pleasantly surprised. The staff were warm and welcoming, and made us instantly feel at home. And the suggestion of the roasted red pepper soup was on point. That soup is probably the best thing I've eaten so far in the state of Montana. The burgers were good and juicy and I'm kind of sad that we didn't get the fries because the next table over had them and they looked delicious. The iced tea tasted fresh brewed and this would be a foolish spot to miss if you're in the area headed into or out of Yellowstone the prices were reasonable and it looks like they do live music and I would be excited to come back and eat again. Wheelchair accessibility: this is a historic building and would be within its rights not to be wheelchair accessible. But that is not the case! There is a zero rise door entry; you do have to get through the saloon doors and then there's a traditional door behind that so you might need a hand but coming out you look like an old western bandit ready for a high noon shootout. There's plenty of seating options and lots of space to maneuver. The bathroom door was light and the bathrooms are spacious with plenty of room to turn around, and grab bars.

Our other orders were the bison burger special and the "juicy lucie" burger with fries and tots. Both burgers were fresh and well prepared and the sides were served hot and crisp. The restaurant is in the Soda Butte Lodge and the whole space is in need of some updates, but don't let that turn you off. If fine dining was your priority, you probably wouldn't be in Cooke City to begin with. Onion rings and tots were fried to oblivion in old cooking oil. Plastic utensils, empty condiment bottles and mustard and mayo packets on the table like a food cart place. I hate to bash family run places, especially in small towns where tourism is what they have to rely on but we are just hoping that we don't get food poisoning from our lunch today. Avoid this place like your gut depends on it. Hot dog dude across the street, Sup Dog, was a much better choice after we couldn't finish half our meal.
