I wouldn't recommend this place. First they pierced my tragus wrong. The owner apologized, fired the guy, and made amends. When I went back to get my jewelry changed, the guy took out the old jewelry in my tragus and didn't put in a needle so it wouldn't close up while he was getting the new jewelry to put in. The piercing hole closed. He tried to force it in multiple times. There was a lot of blood. He lied and said there was a little. He barely cleaned the blood off my ear. I had to clean it off when I got home. I was in a lot of pain for several days. He also bruised the inside of my ear with the tool he used and now I have two large bumps on the inside and outside of my piercing. read more

My daughter wanted to get a memorial tattoo to honor her dad after loosing him to Covid. On her 18th birthday, I took her to Black Pearl & she was paired up with Red to do her tattoo. Their shop is very clean & I love the private rooms where they tattoo their clients. It's much nicer than just being in a big, open space with other customers. Red explained everything to my daughter & checked several times to make sure the size, font & placement were exactly what she wanted. I appreciated that very much! He was very thorough & kind to her while ye was doing the tattoo. He explained what he was doing & what she would feel so she was prepared. When he was finished with the tat, he made sure he had her full attention while he went over the cleaning & care instructions & answered any questions she or I had. Her first tat experience couldn't have gone any better & I highly recommend Black Pearl. We have had numerous piercings here but this was our first tattoo experience. This review will be in two parts. First off, we drove from Richmond, Tx area. My wife wanted a tattoo for the longest time. She did quite a bit of research and homework on different tattoo parlors around Houston. She decided to check these guys out from a mention on 104 KRBE, she looked up some of the various work from the tattoo artists and quickly liked what she saw. So we took a chance... We talked to Mr. Miike, a very friendly guy. She explained the idea and how she wanted it to look. He immediately was excited to get to working on the tattoo. He told us to give him an hour or so to draw up picture and if need be he would correct it if she was not satisfied with the end result. So we decided to grab something to eat and a hour later we drove back to see what had become. First impressions: the place was nice. Decor was a skull and bones pirate theme. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They made us feel comfortable and relaxed. My wife was a little nervous but they made it seem like it was not going to hurt. So that made my wife feel a little better as she knew it was going to hurt.... A lot! She has one other tattoo but nothing like what she is about to get. Second part: after dinner they said they were ready for her, the actually area where the tattooing is done was nice and clean. Brightly lit area with a tv and a overhead speaker system cranking out the jams! Mr. Miike had everything sterile and ready to go. He liked to joke around which made us feel relaxed, but when things got down to business he was in a state of concentration that nothing would distract him. Occasionally he would tell and joke or two and we knew he didn't fall asleep or anything. So after 2 1/2 hours or so, he had finished. My wife never wanted to look and him whiling he was tattooing finally got to see. She was in tears, her tattoo looks great. Mr. Miike did a great job on a original idea that he had never done before. I think anybody considering a tattoo should check out Black Pearl Tattoo. It beats driving into town for some over priced tattoo on westheimer. read more

The piercing room(?) is INSANELY clean and sanitary, like a doctor's office. and I always see the same guys here and they're awesome!! Very nice, easygoing, and always make sure I'm comfortable. Every tattoo I've ever gotten has been from Red (except one). He is always awesome, very funny, and very good at what he does. He always draws up the design exactly how I'd like it, and the tattoo always comes out looking as good as or better than the drawing. He's also incredibly experienced at tattooing, so he gets the job done PERFECTLY and IN GOOD TIMING. He is my go-to tattoo artist, and I always recommend him to everyone I talk to. When you walk into the shop, it smells like a doctor's office, which is quite reassuring about the sanitation of the place. They are very professional there but also very friendly. I love this place! Okay so I got my tattoo done by J. I think his name is actually Jason. He worked with my budget and was sooooo nice and comforting! I love him fr I was hesitant to make an appointment, bc I just walked in and showed them a picture and asked for a quote and wanted to get it done the same day, but it was totally worth the wait to get an apointment with him. He made the design even prettier for me than the picture. I wish I would of gotten all my tattoos from him deadass bc it was a great , safe, cool experience. Some other shops will charge you CRAZY amounts and their artist talents aren't no where near his.! And he is fast!! Not heavy handed! I just got such a feeling of genuineness and never trying to rip me off from him . Like he is talenteDD and I'm sure the other artists at the shop are too. I even really like the guy at the front counter here! Everyone so nice and chill and just love the honest vibe from black pearl. They do have a $100 tattoo minimum so my one thing is if your getting a small tattoo try and shop around. But I'm done w small tattoos and will only get tattoos from this guy from now on. I really love this place, and I'm pretty picky about who does my body-modding! I actually have been here a couple times and just remembered I need to write a review due to the fact I remembered I wanted to get the Daith piercings in both my ears last night. I had actually gotten a tattoo by one of their artists not too awful long ago. My friend and I went in together to get matching best-friends tattoos and I can't remember the artists name, but she was really cool! My friend has been back to her a couple of times for tattoos. I'm not a heavily tattooed person or anything, but if I think of something I'd like to get next time I wouldn't hesitate to go back to her. I'm also not really THAT big into piercings (though my pictures my lead you to believe otherwise!) and piercings are not generally something I enjoy, but I really wanted to try the Daith piercing to see if it really does help with migraines. I got both ears done by Mike's wife. (I'm sorry I don't remember your name, the artist I used to work for was named Mike so his name stuck with me!) She was very very sweet and answered all my annoying questions haha. She made pleasant conversation and kept me nice and calm. Luckily I'm not one of those people that freak out at that kinda stuff, but lots of people do and the way she handled me I'm sure translates perfectly to people who may be nervous or squeamish about that kind of thing. She had the best bed-side manner of any piercer I've been pierced by and I absolutely recommend her. I was also in and out in like 20 minutes. She set up very quickly and I was done before I knew it! Yeah.... I got leopard rips done. By the time it healed the colors were all jacked up and everyone was like dude.... It looked bada$$ the night of and a day but that was it!!!
