Overall this was a great experience! I used the BlackTux for my wedding last month. I scheduled an appointment with the Chicago location for my measurements and to get fitted. I received the suit well in advanced of the big day, and everything fit perfectly and looked great. It was super easy to use, especially with several people being from small rural areas that don't have access to a men's warehouse or other location to rent suits from. They just submitted their measurements online and that's all that was really needed. The price point was just right as well. I really have no complaints. We arrived 15 minutes late, but they were completely understanding and immediately started walking us through the process. I got married in October 2016. The Black Tux is top notch for tuxedo rentals and makes it easy for a wedding party that is fairly well-distributed geographically. Originally from Cincinnati, 3 of my groomsmen and father are located there, best man and father of bride in Cleveland and two others in New York - plus the wedding was in Nashville so any service that tethered us to a particular location was going to be an issue. I did my due diligence and contacted the company very early so that I fully understood the timeline to ensure orders were guaranteed and the process by which to deal with fit/order issues. A couple of groomsmen and my father had initial fit issues but the The Black Tux team was extreme responsive in assuaging the issues in a prompt manner. It was really remarkable the ease at which the fit issues were taken care of, and the fact that the original orders fit so great initially for the majority of the group, especially considering that all the size/measurements were entered by the men themselves (not trained tailors by any extent of the imagination). Also, the tuxes are totally killer. The midnight blue tuxedos were a huge hit and the fit of these bad boys is sleek and modern. Fantastic. Couldn't recommend any higher. read more

The ordering was very easy. They email a few weeks before shipping to make sure they got all the info for the right fit. The pants were a little tight once I received the tux but I was able to let them know and they were able to send another size of pants in enough time for the event. read more

It was easy. Sent measurements in and items were sent. Something was to small or didn't fit right I called and they fixed it right away it was even on a holiday weekend. My son was a groomsman in a wedding this weekend. He was excited that the suit fit him well in the shoulders which he has trouble finding and wanted to buy it since it fit well even though it was a navy blue instead of charcoal which is really what he needed. During the first dance at the reception, the slacks tore- right from the back of the seat down to the knee...in the center of the pant leg...not on a seam (!). The material is obviously defective. CAUTION- they are using inferior material. If your groom tells you this is what you have to wear then you have no choice but don't plan on buying it since it's not made well....AND be careful wearing it since it may shred while it's on you which can be totally embarrassing. Be sure to bring spare pants to change into if your pants should shred upon contact with your legs. Pity, the jacket fit well. read more

So here I am (The Bride) 11 days out from my wedding, with an approaching holiday in between, having to clean up this mess the Black Tux has made. The groom received his order with only a white shirt and shoes in the bag - nothing else. THE GROOM. Of all people's orders within the wedding party, we could at least get this one right. To top that off, his shoes are the wrong size - too tight. Let's get to my soon to be brother-in-law whose pants won't fit over his calves because he was sent a skinny/slim fit pant. Finally, we have my dad whose suit jacket is the wrong size. What was the point of even coming in to do a fitting? This is a really unsavory experience, and I wish we had gone another route for the tuxes. Here's hoping my guys have all of their correct and CLEAN attire come wedding day. read more

The Black Tux is great! We used them to get suits for our wedding party. I can honestly say it was the best suit, both fit and quality, that I've worn for a wedding. All of my groomsmen's suits fitted great and it's such an easy rental process from beginning to end. One of the guys in my wedding party is actually getting married in February. He initially had a tux rented through Men's Wearhouse but once he got his suit for my wedding and felt how great it fit, he actually switched over to use Black Tux! WHATEVER YOU DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.....DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE...DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!! This place does does deserve a single star. Where to begin... My physical experience trying on the suit and service at Chicago location was good-4 stars. NO problem there. Here is where the bad experience came in: When my suit arrived, everything was small. I am a 42L and received a 34R and wrong pants size and wrong shoe color and wrong shirt size. Ok, I gave them the benefit of the doubt, fine. Now, I called customer care AND IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I forget her name but she answered with a very ride tone and was not helpful at all. All I was asking was an explanation of what might have happened and that I was disappointing of the service and demanded getting a resize and expedited shipping. I am fortunate to live near a Black Tux location--Chicago-- so I told customer care I will be going in as soon as they opened, 11am. This is where she begin to be EXTREMELY RUDE. She begin to raise her voice saying " We discourage walk ins and you will not be helped" I said, "Well, since I do not remember my sizes because apparently they were lost in the process, I need to get refitted." She said " Regardless, you will not be helped" Really? You are not going to help fix your mistake? She said " I will call you back in 1 hour" and hung-up the phone. I am the groom and you are telling me you do not care? Additionally, one of my groomsmen got the sizing wrong and had an EVEN worst experience with Customer Care calling him a liar and and inept at reading suit sizes! UNBELIEVABLE! I then went to Chicago Black Tux location and they were VERY HELPFUL and did not understand why Customer Care would say that, they have plenty of availability! Black Tux, if you are reading this, retrain your customer care agents, this is disappointing and unprofessional for a company like this. I certainly will not recommend this service TO EVEN MY WORST ENEMY. You have disrespectful and unprofessional customer agents working there and if I had time, I would haply not use your service. read more

Suit was okay, overpriced. First one came wrong size, delay in communication and shipping the second, tried to upcharge me on shipping. I went international with the right size suit, left the wrong size at home. They emailed me 24 hours before the return by date, this was the first I had heard of the deadline. I had 2 suits in different places and only one shipping label. They were rude and did not care- said I should have read their policies page and charged me a late fee. I cannot recommend this company in good conscience. read more

First it is Hard to get an appointment to get fitted. They recommend everything done online. Called head quarters and spoke with Harlene. Harlene wouldn't even give me the local number to their downtown location in chicago, she stated they didnt have the number. Just an advice, why not keep a two hour window for walk ins? Working with The Black Tux was an awesome experience! Though the I had to pay to try out the tux I was interested in, it was 100% worth it to understand the quality & fit I was going to expect. The ability to enter fit preferences & specific measurements resulted in an awesome fit once the real deal arrived. For my groomsmen who received poor fits during wedding week, Black Tux hooked them up with the correct sizes with plenty of one to spare. The return process is super easy, too! I can't say enough how amazing my concierge, Sarah D, was! Would NOT recommend renting Tux from this place for a large group. the tie store is very nice. the customer service is very lacking in attention and more concerned about getting us out in our 1 hour "appointment". we had a wedding party and many had issues with fit of their jackets and needed to order another size to be Fedex'd to them. the staff did not seem to care and were very inexperienced. one guy asked a girl for help but many items got screwed up. i would think a national company would properly train people BEFORE they deal with customers getting a Tux for one of the biggest days of your life (wedding). if i were in management, i would be upset with all of the extra overnights of pants and jackets to make up for the sales staff mistakes (profit killer). never again. also, when we noticed this issue, we offered to drive to the store for a new size but were told they do not have inventory in the stores. read more

Stay away! This is by far the worst rental experience I've had. I trusted the reviews here and ordered from them for two of my events... BIG mistake. The process: For my first event, me and the rest of the groomsmen went to the store to get fitted. We tried on a few of things and eventually found the right fit and style. They recorded all of our sizing into the computer including our demographic information. I was surprised when they told me that we would need to order the suits online and that it would be mailed to me. At first, I thought this was pretty cool and different. But I was wrong. Reality: I ordered the suit on their website as did the rest of the grooms men. The suits arrived and each of our suits had something wrong with them... (jacket was too small, length of arms were too short, shirts were to tight in places, pants were too small/too big) We all had to order replacements for different garments. Some of us had to expedite the replacements which cost more money($20 extra), some of us had enough time and had it shipped for free. My replacement arrived and the suit fitted...but there was no way to really tell if the suit was going to actually fit this time. If you expect some anxiety about this ...specially if you're the groom...You should probably stay away. To top this off, while wearing the suit... i started to notice some pain and redness around the neck collar. You'll notice when you receive the shirts that they are heavy and tough. The shirts are heavily starched! I asked the rest of the grooms men if they had the same issue, and 100% of us had redness and pain on our necks where the collar is. It's been 5 days since my first event and I still have some rough patches on my neck. For my second event that is coming up tomorrow, my replacement arrived... the jacket arrived folded into a square and shoved into a tiny Fedex box. The jacket was completely creased and it was missing the replacement shirt that I requested. I asked customer service if I can pick up a shirt at the physical store. They replied that they do not have that ability at their "showrooms". They also stated that "replacements are part of the process." So sounds like everyone will have to go through what I went through. They offered to overnight a shirt but it would not arrive until after my event. So now I'm stuck with buying my own shirt and having to wear a creased jacket. The only consolation that came out of this experience is that they did refund me for my shirt rental($15). So bottom line, if you want a stress free rental experience then Black Tux is not for you. read more
