This place has "basics," but obviously nothing more. No slim cut pants. Nothing but basic white shirts with no differing collars. Just standard, run-of-the-mill, single option things. We just left wanting more. Way more. Am I thankful for Devon? YES! He was amazing and deserves a million praises for seeing our vision through. However, in terms of leaving satisfied with a complete look, you won't find that here. Also, after looking at wedding pictures of people who used MW, it really confirmed we made the right choice. My fiance worked with Jim, who really knew his stuff when it came to measurements (including things that a regular mortal like me wouldn't consider, like leaving extra space at the left wrist for a watch), and also made small talk with me while my fiance tried things on. He made detailed notes and then the shirt was created and shipped directly to us. Jim said that they do two complimentary tailoring of an item to adjust the fit, though technically they'll do more if it isn't satisfactory. In this case it worked well the first time! In addition to dress shirts, they also had more casual wear (I had joked with my fiance whether he wanted pearl snaps on his wedding shirt and Jim said, "Oh, that's an option," I guess for more Western-style shirts), as well as adaptations like French cuffs meant for cufflinks, an embroidered monogram, etc. My fiance said in the spring he'll return to get some casual shirts.

My first stop today in my cold weather shopping spree was a children's consignment store in the suburbs, and happened to find a Patagonia snow bib there in near perfect condition so that made me feel much better about the investment. Here at the Patagonia store, I bought a snow jacket, some fleece pants and a base layer pant, and a hat. We wandered into the Worn Wear section and they had a small section of children's items there, too, where I picked up another pair of fleece and a pair of snow pants. Their children's section was a bit smaller than I anticipated. They had coats, snow bibs, some pants, and so on, but they only had a single size of each at most. But I was able to get what I needed with the exception of a neck warmer, and I will admit to being a bit surprised they didn't carry that sort of item. They had a small play area! I wasn't expecting that at all but it definitely helped with a finicky two year old who woke from a car nap when we got to this store. It's not much--a small table with some blocks and a shape sorter--but it was enough for her to have fun and keep her occupied while I was deciding what I wanted which is worth a looooooooT. Parking was astonishingly easy for an early Saturday afternoon. We found a spot immediately and there were others around too. For the Yelp event, participants got a custom made shirt. I was so pleased with the process and the shirt (with French cuffs and my initials) that I wanted The Doctor to experience it as well. Located on the 3rd floor on Oak Street, you enter from the street straight to an elevator, which opens directly to the showroom. It is dimly lit but in a good way, with spot lights on the suits and ties. Enzo has a large selection of swatches of colors and different types of fabrics. What I didn't see during my initial visit was all of the beautiful custom buttons! Man oh man, so many to choose from and so many colors as well. Let just say that working with Mason is an absolute blast! When I made the initial appointment, I asked if it would be ok if I brought some bubbles for us to drink as I knew we would be there for a bit and Mason said absolutely and even provided glasses for us. Mason is so professional and very focus on details. I love the fact that he makes recommendations, but also listens to what the client wants. He was patience in the process and at no point did we feel rushed. While drinking bubbles, me and The Queen got to assist in the process of selecting colors, fabric and buttons...so much fun! We ended up settling on a lovely pastel pink fabric for one shirt and a blue one with a delicate pattern on it. Both are going to look great on The Doctor and I already have plans for the pink one for date night...both of us in pink and it will be glorious! This is definitely going to be a place that gets repeat business from us as The Doctor is now thinking of having some suits made as well as slacks. And The Queen and I are planning a visit in the Fall as that is when they will have patterns specific to women's shapes.
