My cousin and I visited The Bleu Room after seeing some appealing specials on social media. The venue has two sections--downstairs and ground level--but the separate entrances can be confusing. We accidentally walked into a private event downstairs (everyone was dressed in white with balloons and a photo backdrop) before security redirected us to the right side. Once seated, we looked at the menu and decided to order a bottle since we planned to stay for a while and there was a special being advertised. We also got a hookah, which cost $40, with refills at $25--way too high in my opinion. Drink prices ranged from $18-$28 and food from $23-$38, which felt more like upscale restaurant prices than a lounge. When I asked about the bottle special, the waitress had to confirm with a man--who seemed completely unaware of the promotion. Thankfully, I had a screenshot, and even the hookah attendant confirmed it was posted. After some back and forth, the waitress honored the deal, but it definitely dampened the vibe. The place started to fill up later on, with a live DJ and good energy. But about three hours in, the waitress came over and said, "The owner would like you to pay for the bottle now." That caught us off guard--we had already ordered food and had no intention of leaving without paying. To make things worse, she "thanked" us for not skipping out on the bill, which was offensive and completely unnecessary. Turns out, the hookah girl never put in our food order despite taking it on her handheld device. At that point, we were completely turned off. We paid for the bottle and left. The Bleu Room has potential, but their service, communication, and assumptions about customers need serious improvement. They lost out on more business by making us feel unwelcome. SMH. read more

I do not recommend this place whatsoever. We were seated in the basement and it was not a vibe. There was as no DJ, one bartender and a server who was extremely inattentive. It was chaos. Food took forever, and the portions were inconsistent especially when we ordered all the same meals. here was lackluster apology given by management but that's it. I really enjoyed my happy hour experience here on a Friday night! My friend and I decided to drive up to Harlem for a good time. First off, the atmosphere was pure vibes! DJ Critical played all the good tunes. The food was very tasty. The staff were friendly and took good care of us. Shout out to Perry our gracious waiter! No kidding. This place has blue lights inside and is very calm that way. I think we went on a slow day as it took nearly an hour to get the food. But I didn't mind cos food was amazing and service was great. They apologized profusely too! But if you have somewhere to be, this is something to consider. We started with cocktails - the rum punch, mudslide, Jamaican ice tea, and Bob Marley. Please note these are on the sweeter side but delicious nonetheless For food we started with the cod fritters which were so delicious. But they came out last almost 2h since we ordered For mains, we ordered the Ackee and salt fish - order at your own risk; I love this dish but it can be pretty strong for some people Oxtail curry - it's a favorite of mine; subtle spices making the meat the hero. Be prepared to eat with your hands if you really want 100% out of this dish Jerk chicken - so smoke and yummy; absolutely lovely with their scotch bonnet sauce. Four of us came to The Bleu Room to celebrate my husband's 75th birthday. It was our first time there and we enjoyed ourselves. They have a DJ that plays old school music. March 7, 2025 We had a great waitress and her name is Camille. She was friendly and helpful. We ordered Uptown Oxtails. They were so tender that they slid right off the bone. So, soft opening today. Word got out because the place was packed after 6:30pm!!! Ambience The music is fantastic. Roots, reggae, and early dancehall. Since it's Harlem, clearly he have to have some hip-hop/r&b. Dim lights but still a visual experience with the blue lights and soft yellow lights over the seated section. Staff is very attentive upon entry and at the bar. Very clean sleek look to the venue. Layout Bar is immediately to the right. There are roughly 12 tables for sit down service. One spacious bathroom the back and right with *ahem* "Ladies essentials", and lotions. Drinks I had the Jamaican Ice Tea. Deeelish. Even the bartender was surprised how good it was (and strong). Followed it up with the Rum Punch. Fresh fruit and store bought juice mixed together for both drinks give a very refreshing flavor with the alcohol. Bartenders were very amenable to mixing and had no problem speaking on the signature drinks. Food I had the cod fish fritters. For $14 I had (3) very nice sized fritters which were not too greasy or salty and had a nice little spice to each bite which came over a bed of veg. A young lady had oxtail with rice and peas. Falling off the bone, lol. Needless to say her plate was clean when she was done. Things to Work On Communication -There were some miscues tonight as with every soft opening. Some enhanced communication between FOH and BOH will be beneficial to this place going forward. -Social Media/Management may not have communicated business hours. Walking in at 6pm the staff looked a little frazzled people were already here and they were still setting up! However, once everything was arranged there was a good flow. -For appetizers maybe offer roll ups as there are finger foods everyone may not want to use their fingers for. Bar -Offer water from the jump. Even the bar patrons can use some water upon sitting. These drinks HIT! ***nice and crowded by 9:00pm*** If these are the only things that need improvement (in my opinion) I only see the experience getting better once they are fully open for business! As someone who actually has worked behind the bar at the Bleu Room , I will say the ambience of the Bleu Room is extremely chic and fashionable. The food is absolutely amazing. There was the pasta is so lit ! everybody that works there is extremely friendly from the chef along side, the waitress they do serve hookah and Gabby does an amazing job with the flavors. It is definitely a great local Harlem spot. They are looking to expand downstairs lounge. I can't wait. read more

I have been coming here since they first opened in 2023. I loved it at first because of the flavor & portion size to price ratio. But lately (as in the past year) portion has become utterly different. This image is a LARGE oxtail. I get this every time like a fool. This lot was unoccupied for quite some time, but was recently taken over by The Bleu Room which has been a great addition to the neighborhood. Just pass, They tried to build an outdoor dining shed during the pandemic but they never really finished it. It sat on the street unused like a shipwreck bringing down the hood, with a speak out on the street playing loud music as if to fool us into thinking they actually had a dining shed. Every employee i had to speak with was so very kind and i am super big on feeling welcomed at restaurants especially being that i usually dine alone . They were very accommodating because i did switch a few things around on the menu . Everything i ate was 10/10 . Perfect amount of flavor and temperature. The setting is nice and calm and the dj plays the perfect tunes . The blue lighting is fun being that it's called The Bleu Room . I ordered the oxtail meal with rice and peas, steamed veggies with an added side of plantains for delivery. Food came really fast and it was very flavorful and good. Quite a bit of rice, almost too much compared to the other items. Good amount of oxtails but could have left some rice off to add a few more for the size medium order. Only thing I regret is not getting extra gravy on the side. Bout time I got my food, most of the gravy had soaked into the rice. But overall, I would definitely order from the Bleu Room again! Nice flavors on food but the speed in the kitchen and the lack of awareness and apologies given for the delay was mind blowing .
