Games are cheap but one of the games was down and there wasn't an "Out of Order" sign. There is an outdoor patio behind them but it doesn't have a bar and the music isn't as loud. I truly cannot believe I am even writing this review, but the experience I had here on St. Patrick's Day was so wildly unprofessional and bizarre that I feel morally obligated to warn others. I went to this bar with a couple of friends just to celebrate and have a good time like everyone else. At one point, one of my friends was asked to leave. Totally fine, they left willingly and without any argument whatsoever. No yelling, no scene, nothing. We assumed that would be the end of it. But apparently that was just the beginning. One of the bartenders immediately started calling my friend and our group "tw*ts" behind the bar, loudly enough for everyone to hear. Classy, right? While I was simply standing there minding my own business and finishing my beer before leaving, the same bartender started asking if I knew "those people" and then proceeded to call them "motherf***ers." At this point I was honestly shocked at the level of hostility coming from someone whose job is literally customer service. So we decide to leave and go to another bar like normal adults. You would think that would be the end of the story. It wasn't. This bartender actually FOLLOWED US outside and down the street as if we were criminals on the run. I am not exaggerating when I say it felt like we were being chased. He was apparently trying to get ahead of us to "warn" the staff at Wooden Robot about us as if we were some kind of international crime ring instead of a few people walking to the next bar. I have been to bars all over the place and I have NEVER experienced anything even remotely close to this level of unhinged behavior from staff. It was uncomfortable, embarrassing, and honestly just bizarre. Management seriously needs to evaluate who they have working behind that bar because the level of aggression and name calling was completely out of line. The Blind Pig is in NoDa, conveniently near the light rail. I love how affordable their drinks are. It's a fun place to hang out, have a couple of drinks, and also play some arcade games. It's perfect for groups. They also have a machine on the wall, where you can select a song. The bartender on Tuesday night was friendly and helpful. They do check your ID as you walk in. You have to be 21 years of age to enter. It's a fun concept, and there's also plenty of seating both at the bar and just behind it. They also have an outdoor patio area too. You'll have to come see for yourself. I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for affordable drinks, good service and fun games with friends and family. read more

Nice spot in Noda with games to enjoy and of course a bar. They even have a snack machine. We loved the photo booth and hubby loved the basketball game. It's different than what I'm used to when going to a bar and I like it. Most games were only a dollar. I liked this place a lot! They have several different TV's playing sports, movies, etc. A huge game arcade game area which was super fun to play. Music was super good too and decently priced drinks ($5 well drinks on Saturdays). Overall the vibes were great inside and we got served pretty quick even though it was packed. Looked like a fun place and the only bar playing good music in NoDa this particular Saturday night. Before entering you have to show ID and pay a $1 fee. It was very crowded but I patiently waited to get a drink at the bar. They seem to not put much alcohol in the drinks because I didn't taste it at all. I liked the idea of having a section of arcade games in the bar. My friends and I tried playing a few but a lot of them weren't working. The ones that did work were not very fun. After waiting a while, my friend and I got more drinks. She wanted to put hers on her own tab to be able to close it out but the bartender said he didn't have time and made us put both drinks on my tab. So we had to wait even longer to be able to close her tab out before leaving. He was very rude and unfriendly. I noticed him acting the same way to other customers at the bar. After reading other reviews, I noticed that I am not the only one who encountered rude staff here. I will not be returning to this bar unless I see a change in reviews. read more

The Blind Pig, to me just doesn't appeal with me anymore. I guess that I've passed my time as far as going to bars and just getting drunk. It was a little bit disconcerting that when I decided to get a seat outside on the picnic benches, that there was a guy asking to get money for his moped and was oddly checking out unfinished drinks. Which made me think that he was actually there just to bum money off those who were intoxicated and then drinking unfinished drinks... Yeah, it's a bit shady. He also hung out in the dark corner right next to the park benches and it was pretty shady. Inside, it's changed since the last time I've been there. They have all these arcade games now, basketball, video games, a dollar per punch machine (which I thought was pretty ridiculous), a big galaga LED type of arcade shooter, and skee ball. They also have the main bar, and a mini bar near the arcades. I would have to say that the bathroom, is pretty much atrocious. I think it can differ from night to night, but holy shit. It was nasty the night I went. Let me describe it: When you walk inside, you look to the left, oh, why is the sink overflowing? Oh, it's because someone vomited in it and the smell of urine and the acidic smell of the vomit hits you all at once. Looking at the floor, you see that it's wet, and your thought automatically goes to the thought that it's not water... it's urine and whatever else is there. Now you're thinking, well since the sink is pretty much overflowing, ever guy that you see going in that bathroom and coming out isn't washing their hands. Yeah, you can see where this is going. You're sharing darts/dapping people up, it's pretty nasty. Now hearing about the woman's bathrooms, women are just as bad at not washing their hands. I had hand sanitizer so, yeah. Is this place 5 stars? I don't think so. I've been to clubs that had clean bathrooms. Strip clubs had clean bathrooms. At least have the sink open so I can wash my hands, the smell of vomit just basically made me disgusted. I didn't even want to know what was in the stall. Hey, I guess that's why people get drunk and to forget what horrors lurked in the bathroom. If you're looking for a club, I would suggest to go elsewhere for arcade games. Personally, I think I would have had a better time at Dave & Busters. read more

Stopped by this place to play some arcade games and was kicked out before we could spend a quarter. The bartender said that anyone under the age of 21 had to leave so we proceeded to leave mainly because of his attitude. However, there was a baby there, so we were confused and it was mentioned to the bartender. He decides to call the police which was crazy. The good old pig! Always a fun time! This bar is loaded with video games, giant life sized games like Jenga, a see saw, and pretty good music. A huge place and also an outdoor patio with ample seating and room to move around. The service is ok, hit or miss. The drinks are decent depending on who makes them. A dive bar with some arcade games. $1 per play, and the machines are all equipped with a card reader so you can pay with credit! My girlfriend and I wandered in because we saw the big space invaders screen from the street. They also have basketball, air hockey, skee ball, billiards, darts, a boxing punching game, and a claw machine. I actually won the claw machine for the first time in my life after putting a dollar in as a joke, so that was very exciting! We came in on a Thursday briefly and came back Friday to play more games (we love barcades). On Thursday it was a relaxed dive bar. On weekends it's a $1 cover charge and they have a DJ, so it was pretty loud, and attracted a pretty rowdy crowd. Pick your night to pick your vibe. Overall, a fun experience. read more

The Blind Pig is one of the bars I went to while exploring Noda in Charlotte and right before deciding to live there. It was at the very end of a long Saturday that included brewery hopping for 12 hours. Since then, it's been a perfect capper to a few nights for me and my friends.The Blind Pig has cheap drinks, fun games, and space to hang. I guess you can't really tell from outside, but there's some space to this bar and there are a few very different areas where you can hangout. 1) There is the front game/side game area. This includes a stand at the very front where you can buy drinks, a bar in the side area where you can buy drinks, and a bunch of games you can drunkenly play. I frequent this area the most, playing Space Invaders, pop-a-shot basketball, and watching macho dudes play the punching bag game. 2) There is the inside bar area. When you walk in and head straight downstairs, you end up at the bar. This is the most traditional part of the Blind Pig, which allows you to hang in the area with TV's above the bar, tables to sit and stand at, and some board games if you're feeling up to it. 3) One of the best parts of the Blind Pig is the outdoor area. I definitely recommend chilling out here for a while when it's nice out. There's big Jenga, big Connect 4, and a few other things to keep you occupied which includes a mustache see-saw that is always entertaining. All in all, the Blind Pig has something for everyone, whether you want to play some games, have a regular bar experience, or step outside for some fresh air. If I could give zero stars I would.....I walked in with 8 people....I was so excited to show my team this place. The music is great and the games are really fun. We came to celebrate an event. When I walked to the bar the bar back guy (he said his name was Zach) looked at another guest and said "I already hate this crowd"...please explain why we deserved this treatment? We were excited about our day...wanted to celebrate our success and this guy had the nerve to judge us before we even got to the bar. This was a pretty cool hangout spot myself and my friends stumbled on after dinner at Cabo Fish Taco. They charged $1 dollar for entry, and as you walked in the music was flowing with great beats from the DJ. Turning to the left we notice skeeball, basketball shot, and other fun games including darts and pool. It was like a very small Dave and Busters in NODA lol. That was the best way I could describe it, instead of a token card you used YOUR personal credit card or Apple Pay to purchase your games of course lol. Oh and your prize, you ask? The VERY cheap drinks specials they offered #winning. My friend shared, "yeah this is a low key college spot but I'll come for the cheap drinks lol." We felt a little out of place but rocked with it and enjoyed our drinks. For $18.00 we had top shelf liquor for a Long Island and Crown Apple on the rocks and my {non alcoholic} Shirley Temple. Such an awesome spot located in NoDa (North Davidson) which features a few games but the fun is located outside. Drinks were reasonably priced and the staff was attentive to those waiting for drinks. If you're a beer drinker, they have a spot at the entrance to grab a quick beer with really no waiting. After grabbing your drink, head outside for some floor model Connect 4 or Jinga. There are other games happening but these were my favorite and met some really awesome people. Very diverse crowd which I really enjoyed. The games on the inside are pretty basic but you can still have a bit of fun inside and the music is heard throughout the bar and the music was very diverse and great. In a neighborhood where the majority of joints are either named after something artsy or life inspiring (the Muse, Dolce Vita, Sanctuary, Revolution, etc.) or something with an animal (Beagles, Smelly Cat, Rat's Nest) one would think there has to be an online formula on "how to name your business." Maybe some sort of wheel with a descriptor and an animal. Whizzzzz.... Shy Monkey. Whizzz.... Lazy Squirrel. Whizzzz.... Punctual Three-Toed Sloth. But I digress... Taking over the space formerly known as Boulevard and Lark and Key on the corner of 36th and North Davidson, the Pig has an ecclectic feel. No real common theme or identity, Jerry and the crew appear to be filling whatever bar need the neighborhood might need. Cheap beer and drink specials? Check. Place to watch the game? Check. Place to roll Skee-Ball and shoot arcade hoops? Check. Place to test your drunken navigational skills while walking down the ramp from the door to the bar? Check. Place to watch Sons of Anarchy because you let your cable subscription lapse? Check. (Seriously, they advertise SOA night on FB.) Place to show people why you didn't make the cut on one of the society degrading television shows that is just glorified karaoke? Check. Like most hood joints, the walls are adorned with local artists to remind you that it MAY still be the Arts District. Love the Erich Moffitt pieces. They have a fair selection of craft beers on tap and by the bottle. The bartenders are quite capable and make it a pleasureable drinking experience. Early on a Saturday evening, I strolled into The Blind Pig ready to annihilate my husband at shuffle board. While I didn't experience victory at said game, I did find out that my skee ball arm is in great shape. The Blind Pig is a spacious bar with an emphasis on gaming. You'll find shuffle board, shooting basketball, boxing, Pac Man, Buck Hunter, two pool tables, arcade bowling, and the aforementioned skee ball. The games range from $.25-$1 per play, so you can certainly get your money's worth if your ready to throw down. Bartenders were pretty friendly and the beer list offered a handful of local brews at affordable prices. The Blind Pig sits In the heart of noda and almost always ends up being our last stop of the night while out in noda. It's a pretty big space and usually has a good mix of different people which helps put me at ease about fitting in (I sometimes feel out of place due to my lack of tattoos and edgy hair/clothes when in noda or plaza midwood). It can get pretty crowded on weekend nights which makes it incredibly difficult to get into the single person bathroom located in a busy hallway. I always avoid this bathroom and either stop at a restroom before going to The Blind Pig or hold it until we leave. The best part of The Blind Pig (besides their late 90's music playlist) is the game room. We definitely hit up some skee-ball, basketball and air hockey last night. I may or may not have set the record for the night on the basketball game and embarrassed my husband. They also have a car racing game, the punch bag game (in case it's necessary to quantify who the biggest douche is in the bar), foosball, pool tables, and darts. Most of the games have seen better days. I witnessed girls standing on the skee-ball games and another girl fell and spilled beer all over the skee-ball. And the air hockey table is not level so the puck always gravitates toward one side but what can you expect in a bar? Overall not a bad stop when making the rounds in noda. read more

Im here if friends make me go,its right in the heart of noda on corner of 36th st. and everytime I go, I feel like I want to knock atleast one person out. Everytime im here, soooo crowded, and then you have to deal with a big bad security guy that takes his position way over the line, lol. Last night, I went to the Blind Pig and had a very disappointing experience. I was drinking a beer from a pint glass, when I found a large, thin shard of glass in it. This was very alarming because I could have easily swallowed this piece of glass and it would have definitely cut my throat and stomach. I went up to the bar and said to a bartender, "I just found this shard of glass in my cup, is there a manager or the owner that I can talk to." Her response was, "oh that happens all the time." And then pointed me over to a man, that I believe was the owner of the Blind Pig. When I went up to the owner and told/ showed him the same thing, he took the glass, threw it away, shrugged his shoulders, and kept working. I was completely shocked and disgusted at the owner and bartender's reaction. They did not seem to care that large shards of glass are in their pint glasses "all the time." Along with this obvious health issue, I am shocked at their customer service. I did not get any acknowledgement that this could be an issue and could be very dangerous. I expected at least an apology and some eye contact. If I ever do go here again, I will be buying my drink out of a bottle. read more
