I got the beef wonton nachos with Korean beef bulgogi. Omg those were some of the best nachos I've ever had. The wontons were light and crispy. The bulgogi had the perfect flavor ! This place is okay. I came here with some friends on a cold Thursday night and we were able to get a table with no problem. Service was friendly, although I would say our server didn't know anything about the beers but in her defense, they had a large variety of beers on tap. They are quick to mention that the food comes out when it's ready, so the food we got for the six people in my party came out over a period of about 15 minutes. Since that was disclosed up front, I didn't think it's an issue but if you're someone who wants to wait until everyone is served before digging in, you may have to eat cold food. My mom and I were in town for ChosenCon and staying nearby -- we wanted something light to eat before heading back in for panels, and online this place said it had wine and charcuterie which we thought would be perfect. We came in at a time when it wasn't really busy, but it took forever for our server to come around. Ordered two glasses of red and the cheese plate only to be told after we received the wine that there was no charcuterie -- at all. Not a "need to substitute" or "we're missing one of the items" just completely 86ed. Despite being prominently featured at the top of the menu! Since we already had our wine, we had to order something else. I went with the cheese sticks, and my mom ordered a hamburger based on what the table next to us had. When she got her burger though, despite us ordering the same as the table next to us, it was a completely different burger. She ate it anyway and my cheese sticks were okay for pub food. But overall, a really disappointing experience based on what we expected. And we had to hunt down the server to pay so we could get back to the conference on time. read more

I went before a show at Middle C Jazz, great place to grab a quick bite or drink before or after a show. I wanted something light yet filling so got the tomato soup added grilled cheese. That soup was so delish. Grilled cheese was good but I mean it's just cheese and bread so not much to say there lol. I sat at the bar and was served immediately. The place seems to be extremely popular for the after work crowd since they are right below Wells Fargo. Great late night find if you're looking for a spot where the kitchen keeps up with the bar - no "kitchen closed" signs here even well after midnight. The beer list is legitimately impressive; easily one of the most extensive and well curated selections I've seen in a while. Whether you're a crisp-Pilsner purest or hunting for something obscure, they've got you covered. Food wise, solid overall. The Brussels sprouts were on point unfortunately the chicharrones fell flat as they were drowned in hot sauce which made them soggy almost immediately. Tip - Try them with the sauce on the side. Spot was quiet on a Wednesday night and the vibe was laid back and unpretentious. This made for efficient service. Not sure how a busier night would unfold. This restaurant is walkable distance from Nascar hall of fame, excellent for hanging out with a group and to watch sports on giant TV. They got a huge bar and a massive dining area. The restaurant in general has dark ambiance lighting with some sunlight from the front. I got the waffle and chicken from brunch menu. The waffle was really good but the chicken could have been more moist. The hot chicken biscuit was a good sandwich. We switched my fries for a salad, but then later found out I was charged for it. When it came back, it was clearly the same burger with something scraped off -- and now it was overcooked on top of that. On top of that she is allergic to the thing the scraped off. That is completely unacceptable and honestly gross. If a dish is wrong, it should be remade, not altered and re-served. I also ordered two beers and the limes that came in them were old and expired . I do want to note that the hostess was the only bright spot. She genuinely tried to make things right and was apologetic, but there's only so much she can do when the kitchen handles a situation this poorly. Highly recommend! Came here on a Sunday evening before flying back home to Michigan. Plenty of seats to choose from but that might have been due to the rain. Located on a well-lit corner downtown is this bar/restaurant. The bar has an inside portion, as well as an outside bar rail that opens to the patio. TONS of alcoholic & non-alcoholic drink options. Vast food menu that will leave you indecisive. We are gluten free and we still had a ton of options. The bartender also has allergies, so she understood the assignment. Casual attire. Ordered drinks and food from the bar with my wife before a show. Started on our drinks and the food came. Took a few bites of the chicken bites and it tasted like they hadn't cleaned their fryers in months. Nearly made me sick. Then, before I can even say anything about it, some manager starts harassing my wife over an a beverage can (nothing alcoholic) she had in her purse and telling her she had to get rid of it. She actually complies and then he walked away without another word. Then the bartender comes over and says she can't serve us anything. So we tell them to take the food off because it was inedible anyway and we would go somewhere else. They refuse and of course they get a card when you order. We just walk out and I see later they charged us $77 far more than anything we ordered. Currently disputing it with Amex. This place must be in serious trouble and if this is how they treat people, then it's no wonder. read more

We came in on a Thursday at 10 pm, and it was dead, but only for a short while. There were no table service, I appreciated them telling us we needed to order at the bar; thus, we sat at the bar. The bartenders were wonderful and very helpful. Their old fashions were awesome. It was nice to find a place that knows how to make them. My partner got the wedge, which he really liked. I got the parmesan chicken sandwich, recommended from the bartender, and fries. That sandwich was or as he called it . It was amazing. I wish I hadn't shared it with my partner. It was so good, I woke up thinking about it this morning. The fries were also REALLY good. They had the perfect seasoning on them you didn't even need ketchup. I had a lovely dining experience that I'd rate an 8/10. After a long day at work, I was ready to indulge, and the meal didn't disappoint. The chicken parm with pasta was flavorful and hit the spot. It was perfectly cooked, and the pasta complemented the dish really well. To accompany my meal, I had a glass of Single Post Ockfner Bockstein Riesling Kabinett, which paired wonderfully with the flavors. I also had their espresso martini, which was perfectly executed--extra creamy and just the right balance of coffee and alcohol. Everything arrived at a decent pace, and I appreciated that, especially after a busy workday. The service was attentive without being overbearing. Do not, do not, do not, waste your time here. I promise. Unfortunately had to send my food back 4 times due to it being wrong each time they brought it out. When I reminded the staff for the 3rd time that I did not want ketchup on the burger, they attempted to wipe it off and still left ketchup all over it. Next time I sent it back to get a fresh burger, with no ketchup, it came back with a hair on it. At this point, I decided I was just going to not eat. When my husband asked the food runner to return the burger and to ask the cook to make a new one with no ketchup, the food runner said, "what? Is she allergic to ketchup?" The attitude was extremely unprofessional. Our waitress did not care about the mistakes that were made and actively ignored us when we were trying to express our concerns. Thankful for the sweet, sweet hostess that helped us get seating and got the manager for us. Additionally, two of our friends ordered fries with their meal and received 4-6 "house chips" instead of the pile of fries that comes with the meal. He also had tomato on his burger when he ordered it without. Overall, the food was low, low quality. The only reason I'm even giving 1 star is because I have to. Hands down, a great choice in DT Charlotte! I wish I had taken pics!!! We were just so hungry and had landed off a plane and completely forgotten to. This spot is a true public house/ pub but with a modern twist! They had these beautiful lights hung up in the dining room ceiling to the left of the bar that were so pretty! The bartender said that the colors change based on seasons/ holidays too! Service was fantastic! There actually was no serving staff the night we were in so we had to order from the bar. BUT the bartenders were wonderful! At one point, some wine fell on the table and the bartender saw from a distance and already began to run over with stuff for us and the table! I barely had made it to the bar to ask for paper towels and she had a whole tray of stuff ready to help! She was also very kind in general, even outside of helping us with a mess. The beer list was extensive and there were even bottles of wine that were delicious and reasonably priced. The food was really good! I can't remember what anyone else in our group got but I got the PB&J Burger and it was epic! It even had a kick because of the jalapeños. I'd recommend this burger and this spot! We decided to go to Public House instead of a fan event for the game and we're excited to see a popping sports bar with plenty of folks and lots of games on tv. Unfortunately, that's where the excitement ended. Our server was super nice and somewhat attentive, but our food definitely ruined the experience for us. We ordered the cheese charcuterie board, fish and chips and the steak frites as well as a couple of drinks. The board was more like a plate with half the food on it. The fish was burnt to the point we couldn't eat it and the steak frites were painfully average. After 2 drinks, and 3 appetizers our total came to a whopping $107 without tip. I was in Uptown around 9:30 pm and looking for a place to get something to eat. I tried a couple of places with no success, so then opened my trusty Yelp app and found The Public House was close by. When you walk in, it appears to be just a bar. There was no wait staff when I was there. You have to order from the bar. Despite having a good crowd that night, I didn't have any issues placing my order. Unlike some places where you have to fight to get the bartenders attention, the bartenders here noticed I recently came in and made sure to come over and take my order. They have a full bar, but the star for me was the huge draft beer selection. Local and regional beers on tap. The food is small plates and entrees. The entree menu is nicely diverse.
