Shrimp Wrap
Dee-Dee W.

I was in town for the FIFA Tournament. I stopped by just for a quick eat but had a really nice time. There were a ton of fans so there was lots of cheering and chanting. It's a small bar but I was able to get a seat right on the end. I got a shrimp wrap that included bacon. Everything was super tasty and fresh. I don't remember the beer I had but it was an IPA. The more bitter one. All beers on draft are local or foreign I believe. I waited on my food for a little and the bartender was nice enough to take half off my wrap for the wait. I didn't ask. There were only two girls behind the bar and they were really working hard, which is why I appreciate one saw I hadn't gotten my food when I hadn't made a fuss about it. I'd go back for sure. Super reasonable and good food.

We will return, whenever we visit Charlotte! Staff was amazing! Their Chef came out personally to meet us, and discuss our special dietary needs (dairy/gluten-free) and our options. Very thoughtful ! We had the pork tacos in corn tortillas, fries, burgers, and the green beans. Everything was spot on. We had children with us and the whole staff was very accommodating and patient . The gorgeous hand-made tables with their Val Halla Pub and Eatery logo, and the rest of the decor was so tasteful ! Can't wait to return.

Came here for Sunday brunch and it was delicious! I had the fish and chips and I really liked it. I'll definitely be back for that for sure. It was actually my first time trying fish with the malt vinegar and I'm a fan. So thanks for introducing me to that lol. I've came for drinks before and they don't disappoint. Good beer selection and tasty drinks for sure!

Ragnar's Corned Beef Reuben was delicious--perfectly seasoned and stacked just right. The beer really hit the spot, and the location couldn't be better. Great spot to relax and enjoy a satisfying meal.

It's a Small place with plenty of seating, but minimal space to walk around. Be aware that it is loud if the place is full. The staff is all very fast to greet and serve you, and the drinks are tasty and served in good time. I had the shrimp tacos, and fries, both were delicious good and a good size helping. Also Moderately priced.

Lunch Special: Chicken Noodle Soup & Grilled Cheese
Kate T.

I recently dropped in for lunch with coworkers, one who suggested Valhalla. Having never been before I recognized it definitely has the "bar" vibe. We were welcomed by friendly staff and seated in a booth along the wall. After looking over the menu, and hearing the daily specials I went with the special, a creamy chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese. The soup was good, but large chucks of chicken that were hard to eat, since we were only given a spoon. In addition, the soup had raw jalapeños which was a little strange to me when it comes with chicken noodle soup. The grilled cheese included a perfect amount of cheese and toasty bread. Overall it was a nice lunch, and if back look forward to trying other menu items.

Sentinels Torch
Murphy M.

The food was very good! I had the sentinels torch which is a spicy gin drink and it was perfectly balanced between the sweet honey flavor and the spice. I also had the LODBROK'S LAMB BURGER and it was exactly what I was expecting! The flavors went really well together and if I go back I would get it again. It was pretty loud music wise which was fine. The service is where I felt our trip fell a little short. I accidentally tipped over a cup of water and there was no notice to it until we had already grabbed napkins from the bar and cleaned it up ourselves. I just feel like it was a very transactional but I will most likely be giving it another try since everyone has an off day

Love Valhalla! Service is always good. Awesome food and vibe. I tried their lamb burger for the first time and loved it. Chai spice old fashioned was a bit too strong, but loved it - perhaps I needed that ;-)

Great little city bar. Seating in the front with a nice private room in the back. Great bar food. The 2 options we had were both very fresh and tasty. Headed back soon to try some other menu items.

This is the coolest little place in Flett. I found it having lunch here. The decor is really good. All the staff is just happy faces smiles and really really really good. I freaking love it if you're coming to Charlotte you gotta check this place out.

The Brussels sprouts were on point unfortunately the chicharrones fell flat as they were drowned in hot sauce which made them soggy almost immediately. Tip - Try them with the sauce on the side. Not a "need to substitute" or "we're missing one of the items" just completely 86ed. Despite being prominently featured at the top of the menu! Since we already had our wine, we had to order something else. I went with the cheese sticks, and my mom ordered a hamburger based on what the table next to us had. When she got her burger though, despite us ordering the same as the table next to us, it was a completely different burger. She ate it anyway and my cheese sticks were okay for pub food. But overall, a really disappointing experience based on what we expected. And we had to hunt down the server to pay so we could get back to the conference on time.

I'd recommend the sampler plate with the Jalapeño Cheddar Bratwurst as one choice ( you get three) and Jumbo Pretzel with Cooper Bier cheese & Düsseldorf mustard.
