Super cute local bar/pub vibes. We were excited to find another local, dog-friendly restaurant, but were pretty bummed to be subjected to several patrons smoking cigarettes next to us. Food was surprisingly tasty and we loved the neighborhood vibes. However, an employee confirmed smoking is allowed everywhere on both the front and back patio besides the tent which is a definite deal killer (and pretty sure it violates Title 70.160.020) Pretty confusing since they thoroughly advertise this as a kid and dog friendly bar, and subjecting them to second hand smoke doesn't make any sense. read more

This is a local place. You have to relax and just except the moment and adapt to where you're at in White Center. The standard drink is a Rainier and some Jim Bean or a PBR. I really like this place and it's laid back and a place to relax, have a few drinks and chill. read more

This is a friendly neighborhood bar that welcomes everyone. They offer a wide variety of alcoholic beverages with some great bar special cocktails based on the time of year. The food is great, especially the Mexican items like the chips and three salsas, which are freshly made there. We always get that along with the Tacos Dorados and my husband gets the burger and fries. Ignacio in the kitchen knows his stuff! The service is great even when they are busy. read more

Overrated, small, gossipy bartenders. Don't waste your time or money on this bar, go to Georgetown where you can have fun without judgement.

Chose the spot based on their online presence where they claim to have good food and a friendly environment. Then again, it also claims they're in Georgetown even though this is White Center, which maybe should've been a red flag. When we got to the bar, there were 6 other customers there, three at the bar and three at a table. The place was quiet and very clearly not busy. There was a gal behind the bar and a guy doing random tasks. We walked in and were totally unacknowledged. Sat down and for several minutes waited for anything to happen. After chatting for about ten minutes with no movement our direction from either employee, we figured it must be bar-service only and went to order at the bar. At no time were we offered a menu or asked if we wanted food, so we thought maybe the kitchen and settled in to enjoy our drinks. As we neared the bottom of our drinks, the bartender brought out food to the other table, so clearly that wasn't the case and they just must not be terribly interested in actually serving their customers or making money. The drinks were good, and that's the only positive thing I can say. Would've happily stayed for dinner and another drink or two if the staff had been anything even approaching hospitable or at least competent. Instead, we left after one and we won't be going back. If you haven't already been, skip it. There are much, MUCH better options within a block or two. Their website says that their goal is to "build [their] business on loyalty and longevity." Well, here's some free advice: Loyalty is usually based on positive experiences and longevity comes to those who actually provide the services they advertise. read more

I'm gonna give three stars. Only because the service is pretty outstanding and the ambiance was great. It had been several years since I had been to this establishment. My husband and I went when it first opened in White Center. A new restaurant in our neighborhood is always a fun time. The first visit was great the food was good and the atmosphere was amazing. So it's been a few years, and i've really wanted to go back and hang out. My husband is not a real big bar food fan, so he just really didn't want to go. I call my friend I'm like. Hey, let's go check out this bar she's like, great, let's go. Well, the service was amazing. However, the food just really fell flat.I was very excited to eat the painted Hills Burger. I'm pretty particular about my burgers.. I like a nice sear on my burger. Fresh vegetables cheese the whole package. The Burger didn't feel like it was cooked appropriately. The vegetables felt like they may not have been very fresh. The garlic aolii was not good. The fries were too salty. It was just a terrible meal.I may go back, but it will probably just be to have a beer or two. I'm not sure if I want to risk the food again. It is a cute place though. read more

You can see below an exceptionally unfair review from a fellow that has a dog who shouldn't be in an area where there are children and other dogs. There is a leash requirement and yes, I lagged on that, my fault. However, to one star an establishment that is one of the best places for kids, dogs, food, games, people, in White Center, because of me, is simply asinine. Yelp is tricky that way, gives the keyboard warriors a say in something they couldn't handle on their own. As you can see, the one star is an outlier, from an outlier. New digs from a G'town stalwart that got mowed into a parking lot. Just yesterday mentioned, Blu Geouse is gone... Slid out of MacClendon's for irdseed, and see the Blu Grouse sign in White Center at 17th & 98th. Short menu this soon i to their new opening. Parking is a bit light. A decent amount of shade kept the place cool, which in July is most welcome. Friendly staff, decent offerings with a much more roomy space. This is between work and home, and I can forsee many more visits. read more

What a fun place. I arrived not knowing what to expect but was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. There were some tables with a few customers up front on the covered deck as you walk in at the bar just hanging out with their food and drinks. It was very laid back and relaxed vibe. And then I walked through to the area in the back yard with a few tables spread out and it felt like I was at a friends house with a few coworkers. But what I was most interested in was the set up I had heard about for dogs and there were already 5 dogs on site just hanging out with their people. I found that pretty cool and all the dogs were friendly and fun loving too. I had planned to take my dog but she already had plans to go somewhere else but I'm sure she would have loved it. I just had a couple beers and hung out with coworkers but the food they ordered looked yummy and the feedback was very positive so I'll try it next time. I'm going to return again soon but next time with my adorable Westie. I know she'll love it here They have a few beers on tap and a full bar too. Plus a nice young lady bought me a drink after I told her she could use a couple of the chairs we weren't using. What a fond memory of a comfortable and laid back place. One of my new favorites.. I love this place!! Small inside but big beautiful patio.. Enclosed and open section. Pet friendly, I love to take my pup and hangout outside and let him pay. The handful of times we have tried to come here, we have opened the door before being hit with a defeaning wall of noise from a pair of speakers. I can't imagine that this place is winning over more customers than it's driving away with such a ruckus on a Friday night no less, but clearly they aren't interested in winning over any business from those wanting to preserve any semblance of hearing function. read more

Dog People Beware I was delighted to find another restaurant to hang out and eat with my leashed dog. The Pitstop down in Burien was a great dog-friendly restaurant while it was open. At the Pitstop, care was put into the handling of dogs- owners had to have dogs under control by leash at all times. Eating with your dog indoors- It was downright civilized! When I heard that the Blu Grouse was dog friendly, I was excited. The food here is great, and the place generally has a mellow, laid back ambiance. Folks smoking out in the back felt like a great throwback to the Seattle 90s vibe. Now, if you aren't dog motivated, like me, then the following part won't apply to you, so you can skip it- go enjoy the Blu Grouse. But if you do bring your dog into the back yard, keep in mind that one male regular customer (he was there every time I went to the Blu Grouse) with a german shepherd will insist that your dog has to meet his dog. He lets his dog off leash like it's the off leash dog park while at the restaurant. So if you don't give consent to him have your dogs meet, then he will have to leash his dog. He really hates having to leash his dog. Leashing his dog will make him petulant and he will throw a tantrum and just have to settle your hash. He will interrupt you mid-meal to insist that your dog meet his dog to prove some ridiculous point. When you don't give your consent, he will accuse your dog of being vicious, dangerous dog, as though the onus is on you to prove anything to this petulant toddler. He is a self described 'good friend' of the owners. I am sure his dog is great with people and many dogs, but his dog barked and bared his teeth at my dog with each encounter. It would be good if the Blu Grouse established and maintained a stated dog policy for its patrons- for example, if it's an off leash park/restaurant- let folks know in advance. Going forward, I will be spending my weekly 'going out to eat' money elsewhere- with or without my dog. read more

To the guy who left a bad review, it seriously sounds like a "you problem" considering all of the reviews on his profile are 2 stars because he didn't get an extra 4 sides of ranch or he wasn't immediately acknowledged; YOU TRASH SON. My wife loves this place and she hates quokkas. You hear that? What type of souless hell hound doesn't like quokkas? Anyway, I digress. Look at the good reviews and see it for yourself. You will be welcomed, fed and feel like family. And hey, if for some reason you aren't welcomed, be a normal person and talk to the bartender instead of pounding away at your relevance device you clearly bring everywhere to show you have some iota of influence. The atmosphere, food, and staff were great. I felt very comfortable in the old house "vibe" and the patrons were very friendly.

Wonderful welcoming atmosphere, open and breezy. EXCELLENT Food (best quesadilla ever), service, company. We will most definitely be back!

If you like crispy fries and and meatball/ meatloaf flavor burger you won't be disappointed. It's on point.
