I loved this place a lot. Coming from Detroit Michigan, stopping for the night, we chose this restaurant for dinner. The food was great the prices are right, the service amazing. Thank you Cole + trainee for welcoming & serving us. I loved the size of the food, we actually ate it all. ( no overflowing plates that I hate). The bourbon was amazing.

I ordered the BLVD burger and it was a good burger for the price. The staff was friendly, showed a lot of care for their guests. They have a decent bourbon selection, and I am looking forward to see their food delivery service, and what they have in store for the the residents of the BLVD. I will definitely return.

Went for the firsr time for lunch with a friend. Venue is a lot more spacious when you enter. Nice ambiance. No wait to be seated, lunch time was not busy. Nicole was our server and was super friendly. We orderes queso and chips. I know the owners own Suggins, so I knew their chips would be delicious! Our salads were huge and very appealing! Neither one of us could finish them. We checked out bar area and it was also pretty spacious. Will definitely go again and try dinner options.

While our family lives in the neighborhood we had not eaten at this restaurant before. The atmosphere was casual and friendly. The perfect place to meet with friends. The menu offers something for every taste. I ordered the burger for "burger week". It was cooked perfectly and tasted good. My wife had a chicken taco that was served with chips and salsa. We also ordered cheese fries that were covered in Cheese and bacon. We enjoyed our first meal there and look forward our next visit.

Good ambiance. A bit noisy. Well priced food and drinks. Seemed a lot of regulars knew one another. Worth a trip back to explore the menu.

WOW! What a gem of a place!! I love to support mom and pop small restaurants and was blown away by…read morethe food, service and value. The menu is a unique mixture of American, soul and ethnic options. I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken Garlic wrap and pasta salad. Hubs ordered a Club sandwich with potato salad. Everything was SO DELICIOUS! Highlights were the sumac seasoning on my wrap, the HOMEMADE bread on the Club and the whipped texture mixed with the potatoes in the potato salad. The gentleman who runs the restaurant was kind and attentive and I swear I could taste the love in the food he prepared. We were staying a couple of miles away at a hotel for a road trip pit stop and needed dinner. Dinner exceeded my expectations and I KNEW I had to leave a review to encourage others to visit. But wait, there's more!!! 6 months ago I was at a hotel in New Orleans for 5 nights trying to order their "famous" bread pudding for a late night treat. It was Out of stock my whole stay and I left a bit bummed. So when I saw bread pudding as an optional dessert I ordered some to-go. BEST. BREAD PUDDING. EVER. It came with real, homemade whipped cream. I put the whipped cream in the mini fridge at the hotel and pudding on the counter for an hour or two to allow time to digest dinner. When I finally dug into the dessert I was in HEAVEN! The bread pudding still had some warmth. I tried a bite on its own and was delighted by the combination of big bread chunks with lovely syrup, touches of cinnamon spice and CRUNCHY SUGAR pieces. Then I tried a bite of the VERY full container of whipped cream. It was light and fluffy, very creamy and partially frozen and has a fluffy frozen custard vibe. The combination of the two was a flavor climax that I can't even properly describe. Don't miss out on the bread pudding!! The restaurant wasn't busy at 7/8 pm on a Thursday night. It's tucked away in a neighborhood shopping strip. Don't let the inconspicuous look fool you into believing that my review is in error. Also, it seems small but has a roomy dining room with a bar in the adjoining space. If you try the food I can guarantee you will taste the love and quality that is a rare find these days.

I got the Mediterranean Chicken Garlic Pita Wrap and my son got Buffalo Chicken Tenders and fries. The service was good and the food was pretty average. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but it's a good little neighborhood cafe.

Southern Cookhouse features scratch-made dishes using local ingredients, a variety of burgers, pizzas, and classic Southern entrees. I started with the Chicken & Sausage Gumbo because I love soup and all soup-adjacent things. The gumbo had a good, rich flavor from the roux, with subtle heat and a sweet finish. The chicken had a nice flavor, a little saltiness, and it was tender. The Andouille sausage was cooked well and rounded out the flavor profile. The tomatoes and scallions added brightness and crunch. The rice had a few hard pieces, but overall it was good. I do want to mention that I did find a few chicken bones in the dish, just so people are aware. My wife tried the Dunwoody Cobb, made with Grilled chicken breast, boiled eggs, bacon, avocado, tomato, and blue cheese crumbles, with spring mix tossed in Dijon vinaigrette. The lettuce was crunchy and fresh. The bacon had a great salt level, crunch, and crispiness. The avocado added a creamy richness to each bite, while the tomato's acidity cut through the Dijon mustard's sweet and bitter notes. The star of the show was the salty, nutty, creamy blue cheese crumbles, which meshed well with all the other components. The chicken was cooked well and had good flavor, but it was dry. While I avoided it, my wife said the boiled egg was well-cooked and added it to the salad. I had the Nashville Hot chicken, which comes with spicy pickles, coleslaw & mayo on slider rolls with potato salad. The potato salad was mustard-and-mayo-based. The potatoes were soft but still offered some texture. The mustard and mayo balanced each other and added flavor. There were eggs in the potato salad, but they blended into the background and did not stand out. The sweet pickle relish added crunch and texture without being overly sweet. I'm not sure if it was made in-house or from a container; it was good nonetheless. The slider was fresh, soft, and nicely toasted. The slaw was medium-chopped, with a great mayo ratio and a good sweetness, tasting fresh, crunchy, and creamy without being so rich as to drown out the vegetables or the chicken. The pickle was not spicy, but a thick-cut bread-and-butter type with a little sweetness and a velvety, buttery flavor. The chicken was juicy, tender, and cooked well. The Nashville-style spices were mild to medium, just enough to know it was there but not so overpowering that it was all you tasted. It was not overly oily either, which often plagues sandwiches of this type. The entire sandwich worked well together. Southern Cookhouse has a full menu, but some items do rotate or are seasonal. The bar is fully stocked, offering draft beer, tea, and soft drinks. They offer counter ordering, and the staff is very friendly. The Fat Man says that Southern Cookhouse & Bar is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.

Spam was a little salty (duh, that's to be expected) but well fried. The fried sunny side up egg was amazeballs too, so rich and runny. Fries were hot and crispy as well, but honestly the spam and eggs (which also came with sticky rice and macaroni salad) was so filling that I barely touched the fries. This delicious smorgasbord was only 9 dollars! My colleague had the juicer, which is mahi mahi with cabbage slaw and spicy mayo. He also got the Hawaiian style fries. Topped with spicy mayo, sweet soy, house chili sauce, green onion, and sesame seed, this is an extravagant dish! He enjoyed it.
