Highly rated by the locals. Overall, I enjoyed the experience but not sure I would be craving a return visit. Very good service. Street parking which is not always easy to find. Plenty of space inside. Outdated decor. Nice complimentary corn muffins. They make you sign a waiver to eat the Nashville friend chicken sandwich...still not sure why. Fried chicken and bourbon chicken were good. Side of rice was very flavorful and my husband absolutely loved the Mac and cheese. Overall, worth a stop by to judge for yourself.

Round 2! I gave Pineapple Eddies a second try during a visit to Erie and this time it did not disappoint! We arrived on a Wednesday evening around 6:00pm. We were seated right away at a table towards the front. The room was dimly lit and slight Smokey. Most of the tables were full with a steady flow of patrons. Based on a recommendation we ordered the hush puppies for dessert and it was a large portion of hush puppies on a bed of remoulade. For my entree I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas and a side of veggies. I thought the chicken was really spicy but the rice and peas cut the spice down. The veggies were a nice portion (cabbage, kale and carrots) but they could have been cooked just a few minutes longer). My colleague ordered the jerk burger and said it was good, but the best but he was satisfied. I wanted to order the chocolate cake for dessert but they were out. I would return again maybe when they open to ensure I can get the dessert I want.

Solid first meal at Pineapple Eddie's. We did not have an advance reservation on a Friday night , so we were seated downstairs in the dining room by the bar, which was fine by us. Our server was very polite and prompt, as were all the staff. They had a specials menu with a fresh catch that my husband ordered (I think it was red snapper) & I had the shrimp n grits. We both enjoyed our meals. They also make their own desserts. We easily found parking on the side street.

I've come twice since my first visit and the food is amazing every single time. Our servers were very helpful and provided excellent service. There's a large variety of drinks that can cater to whatever you prefer to drink. The food is some of the best food in Erie. Everything was cooked to perfection and packed so much flavor. Highly recommend the bourbon sugar fried chicken, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. There was live music one night, which provided a nice atmosphere. Staying overnight on our trip to the Finger Lakes in NY we checked Yelp and saw the great reviews for Pineapples Eddie's so we got a reservation (not sure it was needed on a weeknight). We were seated in the downstairs section of the restaurant which has a very cool old bar. I started with a hurricane that was very tasty but not sure up to the punch of the ones in NOLA. They serve hot corn bread muffins dripping in honey butter as their bread - very good. I had the spicy shrimp with plantains and dirty rice. It was quite good. My wife got the pan fried catfish which she like a lot. The prices were very reasonable compared to a lot of restaurants these days. Much appreciated. Our server was excellent. She was very attentive without being intrusive. A nice touch at the end of the meal is the hot towel for your hands. One more five star review for this place!

Southern Fried Chicken with Cole Slaw and Plantains

Been wanting to try this place and so glad I finally did! I read about the crab meat hush puppies so had to try that out. Each entree comes with two sides. I decided on Southern Fried Chicken with coleslaw and plantains while my bf got the pan seared catfish with chef's rice and beans and yellowstone grits. Everything was so good! Chicken was perfectly crispy, not too oily, seasoned very well, and juicy. Coleslaw was delicious and I could eat a whole order of just the plantains. Pan seared catfish was light and tasty, and it had a salsa sauce on it. We were stuffed at the end. Wish we could've tried the creme brulee because I was eyeing it on my way in but maybe next time! Such friendly and quick service! The table has a note that says understaffed so service may be slow but we didn't think so at all. Loved the vibe, the music. Will def recommend to my friends. Try it!!

Stopped at this place as tourists and were blown away by how delicious everything was. I had the pleasure of ordering their jerk chicken and yes it was definitely spicy but that didn't matter. I ate throw that with a runny nose, it was that delicious. They gave us cornbread before our order came and those were also yummy. The atmosphere was calming and enjoyable. Looking forward to coming back every time we stop in to Erie!

Does Pineapple Eddies have any gluten-free alternatives (pasta, bread), gluten-free menu or gluten-free friendly at all?

They must have some gluten-free options because one of our family members is strictly gluten free and she had a great meal there!

They had Gary, the owner of Virgil's, making his pizza and I was very much looking forward to having it again. He had my favorite pizza and I missed having it. So when I heard he was making his pizza again, I booked a reservation. Now, for the record, A. Francisco's is my new favorite pizza, Colin is a pizza genius. But I missed Virgil's, so I ordered my go to pepperoni pizza. I was pretty disappointed. As soon as they put the pizza down, I knew it was different. It didn't look like I knew Virgils to look like. The crust was different. The pepperoni was different... it wasn't Virgil's. I've eaten hundreds of squares. I would get 6 squares and eat them for lunch and want more...this time I ate two... just to be polite. The biggest difference was the dough. It didn't look like Virgil's and it didn't taste close to what Virgil's tasted like. My wife had the house made spaghetti with shrimp and it was very good. The buratta balls were excellent. Those were from A. Francisco's menu and we always have excellent food from here. But for someone who loved Virgil's, this was NOT the Virgil's that I remember and loved. I don't know what happened to his dough, but tonight I'm going to A. Francisco's for my new favorite pizza made by Colin. I'm not a fan of their pepperoni, so I go sausage and arugula. If they ever get the old world pepperoni that curls up, I'll go back to my go to.
