Pineapple Eddie Southern Bistro GOOD - solid southern-style food, friendly service, fun and warm atmosphere BAD - Not much, the service on the slow side and prices are a bit high for the type of food. Neither of these hurt the review because though slow, service was very friendly and I would just cut out the app if I want a better price. PE was an enjoyable experience. It's nestled right in every day suburbia which made it fun - the local place. The fried chicken and waffles was very good and portions are fair. My server allowed me to sub mashed potatoes instead of the day's veggie, which I appreciated. I was excited to try "blueberry glazed" wings which, major bummer, we're seasonal. I got the sweet-hot. The wings were tasty but a little sog - slightly longer fry and good to go. I recommend Pineapple Eddie and I'll be adding it to my Erie rotation when I visit again

One of my favorite restaurants in Erie and always have to make a stop if I'm in town for a few days. They always have amazing specials that I usually go for, can never go wrong with one of their steaks. The caesar salad and cornbread biscuits are a great start. Make sure to save room for their homemade desserts, always rotating selection- if they have the peanut butter pie make sure to try! Service is always fantastic and the vibe is southern comfort.

We love pineapple Eddie's! It was quiet when we came on a Saturday night. Our server was amazing and our food is always perfect. One of our favorite erie restaurants. I had the pecan crusted chicken with garlic mashed potatoes. My boyfriend had the snapper fish (I think lol). We got the crab hush puppies as an appetizer. Everything was great!

Highly rated by the locals. Overall, I enjoyed the experience but not sure I would be craving a return visit. Very good service. Street parking which is not always easy to find. Plenty of space inside. Outdated decor. Nice complimentary corn muffins. They make you sign a waiver to eat the Nashville friend chicken sandwich...still not sure why. Fried chicken and bourbon chicken were good. Side of rice was very flavorful and my husband absolutely loved the Mac and cheese. Overall, worth a stop by to judge for yourself.

Round 2! I gave Pineapple Eddies a second try during a visit to Erie and this time it did not disappoint! We arrived on a Wednesday evening around 6:00pm. We were seated right away at a table towards the front. The room was dimly lit and slight Smokey. Most of the tables were full with a steady flow of patrons. Based on a recommendation we ordered the hush puppies for dessert and it was a large portion of hush puppies on a bed of remoulade. For my entree I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas and a side of veggies. I thought the chicken was really spicy but the rice and peas cut the spice down. The veggies were a nice portion (cabbage, kale and carrots) but they could have been cooked just a few minutes longer). My colleague ordered the jerk burger and said it was good, but the best but he was satisfied. I wanted to order the chocolate cake for dessert but they were out. I would return again maybe when they open to ensure I can get the dessert I want.

Solid first meal at Pineapple Eddie's. We did not have an advance reservation on a Friday night , so we were seated downstairs in the dining room by the bar, which was fine by us. Our server was very polite and prompt, as were all the staff. They had a specials menu with a fresh catch that my husband ordered (I think it was red snapper) & I had the shrimp n grits. We both enjoyed our meals. They also make their own desserts. We easily found parking on the side street.

I've come twice since my first visit and the food is amazing every single time. Our servers were very helpful and provided excellent service. There's a large variety of drinks that can cater to whatever you prefer to drink. The food is some of the best food in Erie. Everything was cooked to perfection and packed so much flavor. Highly recommend the bourbon sugar fried chicken, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. There was live music one night, which provided a nice atmosphere. If you had to choose one place to eat at in Erie, this is the place

Does Pineapple Eddies have any gluten-free alternatives (pasta, bread), gluten-free menu or gluten-free friendly at all?

They must have some gluten-free options because one of our family members is strictly gluten free and she had a great meal there!

We love A Fransico's and I've given it a 5 star review on Google. We went here on Saturday…read morespecifically for Virgil's pizza. They had Gary, the owner of Virgil's, making his pizza and I was very much looking forward to having it again. He had my favorite pizza and I missed having it. So when I heard he was making his pizza again, I booked a reservation. Now, for the record, A. Francisco's is my new favorite pizza, Colin is a pizza genius. But I missed Virgil's, so I ordered my go to pepperoni pizza. I was pretty disappointed. As soon as they put the pizza down, I knew it was different. It didn't look like I knew Virgils to look like. The crust was different. The pepperoni was different... it wasn't Virgil's. I've eaten hundreds of squares. I would get 6 squares and eat them for lunch and want more...this time I ate two... just to be polite. The biggest difference was the dough. It didn't look like Virgil's and it didn't taste close to what Virgil's tasted like. My wife had the house made spaghetti with shrimp and it was very good. The buratta balls were excellent. Those were from A. Francisco's menu and we always have excellent food from here. But for someone who loved Virgil's, this was NOT the Virgil's that I remember and loved. I don't know what happened to his dough, but tonight I'm going to A. Francisco's for my new favorite pizza made by Colin. I'm not a fan of their pepperoni, so I go sausage and arugula. If they ever get the old world pepperoni that curls up, I'll go back to my go to.

Crispy on the outside with perfectly melted, gooey cheese inside, and served with a marinara that was flavorful without being overly sweet. For our entrees we tried the OG (added sausage) and the prosciutto e arugula (added mushrooms). Both were delicious, featuring a well-balanced, crispy oven-baked crust that wasn't overly crunchy, elevated by parmesan, red pepper flakes, and a touch of sea salt. I also had an Aperol spritz to drink which was refreshing and perfect. Our server was quick and kind, and the vibe was modern and moody. We definitely see ourselves returning.

Reservations are strongly recommended, especially when they have a band performing. My go-to dish is the short rib dish. The mashed potatoes are amazing and the short ribs are packed with flavor. On this particular visit, they were a bit skimpy on the au jus sauce (it's normally got a healthy laddle of pan sauce on the bowl) but that's okay. I did splurge for my birthday and get a slice of the peanut butter pie. It was super rich and exactly what peanut butter lovers want in a peanut butter pie.

We started with "the 33" and "Black Widow", but I swapped the tequila for mezcal and that was a good choice! The 33 was absolutely delicious...but they did run out of Penelope for the day. So, a second drink unfortunately didn't happen. We put our order in for food about 10 minutes after getting there. No joke, the food arrived almost an HOUR later. We had to ask the bartender what was up; there was no proactive alert as to when the food was arriving. That was off-putting. The food was very good. It's hard to get a pork chop right and they managed to achieve it. The sides were also delicious. My husband's steak was very good and the spicy crema that they put on top was a nice touch. The wait time for the food was unacceptable, honestly. Something should have been comped, but the bartender was too busy to notice. No water refill for close to 30-40 minutes either. We would return but definitely on a different day, when they maybe have more employees working in the kitchen. Or maybe just skip food altogether. *shrug*
