We made the trip to Prince Edward County on Victoria day long weekend to enjoy some wine, breweries, and gastronomy. I did my research, and this restaurant has been ranked highly by others here. We came here early around 4 pm and it was not too busy. Reservations are recommended here as they do get busy on the weekend. We were a group of 6, and we ordered a lot. 1. Calamari $16.99 2.Seafood linguine w/marinara sauce $31.99 3. Lobster tail with jumbo shrimps & scallops $57.99 4. Lobster and King crab $63.99 × 3 5. Fish tacos (3) $17.99 There are regular sides included with the meals and gourmet sides. There's an upcharge between $2 - $5. Food was served promptly. The lobster tail and King crab were delicious however it may not satisfy the biggest appetite. I would suggest pairing this dish with an appetizer or upgrading to gourmet sides. The lobster tails were gigantic, cooked perfectly melted in your mouth. Kudos to the chef, and they also sprinkle some salt when they grill the lobster tails to finish it off. Fish tacos were huge and also served on soft shell tacos. I recommend these fish tacos. Great for smaller meals if you're looking for some seafood. The service was excellent and friendly. They came by regularly to check on us. Will definitely come back and try the boathouse seafood feast for 2. This beats the big chain seafood restaurant out of the park. The only downside is that they don't serve any complimentary butter biscuits. The interior decor makes you feel like you're in a boat. Nice ambiance and great view of the harbour. Too bad the weather was rainy, so we couldn't sit on the patio. Belleville has a nice downtown area too bad the rain prevented us from enjoying a nice walk on their downtown area. The seafood here is excellent, a bit pricey for king crab. They have an extensive menu including some dishes influenced by New Orleans like creole shrimp, jambalya. The rest of the menu is comparable to other places, and there's definitely something for everyone.

A nice place to grab lunch if ever in the city. There food isn't crazy and it's pretty affordable. I ordered the shrimp tacos and it's literally shimps on a bed of guacamole. If you want your monies worth in avocados then yes, this is worth it. I used my salad at as filler for substitutions considering the tacos had no texture. The mussels aren't fresh and the creole sauce was horrible. We didn't like it. My friends got the fish and chips. The fish is small but because it's slathered in batter it looks otherwise. You can probably skip on this too.

There's more than one Boathouse that's become a quaint restaurant with a waterfront view. This spot in Quinte/Belleville is no exception! After exodus from the big city, we arrived here for dinner noticing it was quieter than usual due to the earlier rainstorm & gloomy weather. It was pitch dark outside but a perk was that we seated into a spacious corner booth to enjoy an intimate family meal. Seafood is aplenty on the menu to align with the Boathouse theme. The Haddock New Orleans was an inspired attempt at flavours of the French Quarters with fish blackened & topped with abundant shrimp on creole sauce. It was lightly spiced with mild herb flavours. Instead of just fish & chips, we also tried the Captain's Feast with crispy breaded scallop, extra large battered fish fillet & coconut shrimp. With heavily fried food, we only dented into half of the feast! For kids meal, the Pasta Alfredo was quite plain in both taste & appearance, but did come with a cup of juice. Of course, you can't have a seafood feast without chowder! It was sadly forgotten here till our meal was nearly done. An energetic waitress kindly apologized. The miss was no big deal, except chowder ingredients (shrimps) were cooked till mush. Better to stick to fish & chips! Hard to tell if this soup was just an end-of-day scoop. A summer lunch visit would certainly be more ideal at this local favourite.

Stopped in on a weekday afternoon with my mom and 5 month old daughter and we enjoyed our visit. When we arrived it was early afternoon after the lunch rush but the patio was still busy, so we were glad to get a table outside and there was lots of room for baby's stroller. Since we weren't super hungry, my mom and I decided to split an appetizer and an entree. We chose the jumbo shrimp cocktail and the fish and chips with two pieces of fish with an upgrade to poutine. The shimp cocktail was tasty, served cold of course with fresh lemon and cocktail sauce. The fish and poutine arrived a while after and was tasty. The batter on the fish was light and crispy and I liked the housemade tartar sauce, which was more on the sweet side. The poutine was good too, made with real cheese curds and lots of savoury gravy. We ordered a slice of lemon merengue pie to split for dessert, which was yummy. We enjoyed the food so much, we ended up ordering their seafood chowder, housemade biscuits, bacon wrapped scallops, coconut shrimp and a slice of cherry cheesecake to go for dinner that night. The other food items were all very tasty, especially the biscuits and the bacon wrapped scallops. I did find the chowder a bit underseasoned for my liking but I just added a bit of salt and pepper and it was tasty. Would for sure return again if in the area!

It's a cozy place like being inside a boat. We had the salmon (not pictured but nicely presented) and the fish tacos. Both were excellent! Great service.

My sweetie and I are on our Pumpkinfest Weekend Tour! Our dinner stop is The Boathouse Seafood Restaurant & Waterfront Patio. From the vast menu, I selected the Battered Haddock with a second piece of fish, garlic mashed potatoes and the vegetable of the day (medley). My sweetie selected the Breaded Shrimp Trio Platter with a cup of soup (mushroom bacon) and garden salad (Italian dressing). Excellent fresh delicious seafood and flavourful meals. Serving size was plentiful as we sampled each other's selection. Yes, fried foods are not healthy, but I didn't invite my family doctor out tonight. Krystal, our server was friendly and attentive!

We were on a mini getaway in Picton and dropped by Belleville for a night. This was the best rated restaurant on Yelp and so it was a no brainer! During COVID-19, they are practicing physical distancing and proper sanitation of the tables. I actually watched the designated staff go around the entire time just wiping down tables and chairs VERY meticulously. It made me feel so comfortable because this was one of the first times since the pandemic that we ate at a restaurant inside. I'm so impressed with the precautions they've taken. We waited 45 minutes for our table, and we were happy to wait. When we got seated, I wanted to eat everything on the cute menu they have. But we opted for bacon wrapped scallops (which were delicious), haddock fish and chips (great cook), and the server recommended New Orlean's style creole sauce with shrimp and salmon. My salmon was cooked perfectly and that sauce was to die for. I 100% enjoyed my meal and actually struggled to finish it. The portions are generous (or in my boyfriend's case, perfect). I ordered a daiquiri and they kindly put the alcohol on the side in a shot glass so I could decide how much I wanted in there. It was so good and perfect to go with our meal. I wanted so badly to try the lemon meringue pie as well, but we were stuffed silly and would be heading to bed soon (we got our table pretty late). If we come back to the area, this is 100% the top choice for us. We both enjoyed our meals and the service was absolutely excellent. The staff here took so many precautions to ensure everyone felt safe and had a good time. For the first dinner, we forgot that we've been going through a pandemic. It was lovely.

Yelp review Covid edition: I'm super impressed by how much precautions they're taking. First off, I'm here on a Sunday and no reservations. You can call and get put on a waitlist and they'll call when your table is ready. Make sure you bring a mask because you'll be required to wear one when you go inside the restaurant upon checking in. Annissa was our server, she was super friendly and gave really good and honest recommendations. The lobster, shrimp and scallops was great and buttery. Seafood chowder was good and stuffed, artisan salad was great and coconut shrimp was really good too. Drinks wise I had a shrimp Caesar and brandy Alexander. The Caesar came with 1oz which is a bit light for me but if you're a lightweight then it should be great. Coconut cream as dessert is a nice way to top off the night. Highly recommend! Imagine being here, by the waters, nice patio weather and great company.

No matter where I travel, I gravitate towards bodies of water. It must be the fact that I grew up in the Beaches, and seeing a lake or something similar makes me happy and at home. The Boathouse is a restaurant that hugs Belleville Harbour. I was at Quinte Mall and needed to get some lunch. Nothing at the food court made me want to eat there. There was nothing wrong with me. I wanted something different. I decided to drive over to The Boathouse. Parking is somewhat limited where the restaurant is. Luckily, you can either park on the street or in front of an abandoned restaurant next door. I did the latter. It wasn't all that busy at 3 pm on the Sunday of the Civic Holiday long weekend. I saw the sign outside that said that there are social hour specials that start at 3 pm. Great timing! I had to wait a bit before being seated. You have the option of dining outside and soaking up the view, or inside where it's cooler. I decided to eat inside with a great view. I then went outside to get a closer look after my meal. I got the best of both worlds. It is gorgeous here. I got to see loons swimming around and boats leisurely gliding along the water. My server was gracious and enthusiastic. I got a boathouse caesar to begin. You get a huge shrimp, pepper, and olive with it. It had a special Sunday price of $5. I am normally not a caesar person, but this drink changed my mind. It was delicious with a bit of a spicy kick. For my late lunch, I got the coconut shrimp off the social hour specials menu. I then got lobster rolls that were not. That's okay. I will have lobster rolls as long as it's on the menu and are available for consumption. I love them so much. Really, I LOVE them. The coconut shrimp were perfectly done. So good! The dipping sauce completed everything. The shrimp were so plump and fresh. The coconut tasted naturally sweet and delicious. The lobster rolls were insanely yummy. I loved each bite. You got generous chunks of lobster. The lobster mixture was flavourful and did not make the toasted, buttered bread soggy. I am drooling as I write! I had room for dessert. I got a slice of lemon meringue pie. OMG, the tartness was divine! It wasn't too sweet, but I love a good balance of sweetness with the natural tart lemon flavour. My pie looked so good that the woman next to me got it. We spoke and she admitted that looking at my pie sliced sealed her fate. I told our server that I should get commission and we all laughed. The washrooms are by the main entrance. They were clean. I had a great time here with terrific food. When I am back in Belleville, I am stopping here again for some more good eats. (350)

Lobster, shrimp and scallops combo; with sides of garlic panini with cheese and the soup of the day (curry chicken)

Lovely seafood restaurant by the water! Initial service was sort of shaky. There wasn't a worker in sight when we first entered the restaurant. We came during the summer, which is probably considered busy season. The wait time for indoor seating was over 30 mins, while the deck outside was practically entity. However, since it recently rained, no one had wiped down the place yet. We chose to get seats out on the deck. The interior of the restaurant was jam packed with people--and quite frankly too humid. The seats outside took a while to prepare though, which was partially understandable because of the rain, but the workers also seemed to pass on the task back and forth to someone else. Definitely call ahead for reservations to avoid extended wait times. When we finally sat down, our server Andrii was a lovely fellow! He was great to chat with and seemed to really like socializing with customers. He gave great menu recommendations, in addition to some tips on places to see in the area (Prince Edward County is quite a touristy spot in the summer, after all). We got the lobster, shrimp and scallops combo with 2 sides: garlic panini with cheese and the soup of the day (curry chicken). The seafood was very good! It was lightly seasoned, which really highlighted the flavours of the seafood. The garlic panini was pretty straightforward and cheesy, nothing too fancy here. The curry chicken soup was taste too, but sort of salty for my bland tastebuds--so take my word with a grain of salt. Overall it's a lovely restaurant. The view on the deck, especially around late evening to sunset, is very pretty. The food is also pretty solid as well! The only issue is the price tag is a bit steep--but I suppose that's what you expect for a touristy spot.
