Went in on a Saturday night and it was quite busy so take that with a grain of salt. The food was okay, we had wings and a chicken wrap. However it took over half an hour to get our food, at one point having to ask for an ETA which apparently annoyed the bartender/server because the service after that was horrendous. No wet naps or extra napkins with the wings, didn't ask once if we wanted a refill on our drinks. Also had the unfortunate view looking directly into the kitchen expediting station and were less than impressed with the hygiene we observed. Lastly after having to flag down for our bill because the server didn't come by once to clean up plates, he just handed us a machine although we were intending to pay by cash, still gave a generous tip but weren't even asked if we wanted change, nor did we get any sort of goodbye. My sweetie and I are on our Pumpkinfest Weekend Tour! Swooped into Picton for lunch at The Acoustic Grill. Carter, our friendly server seated us next to where the live band plays (but not now). Our fancy today was a Ham and Corn Chowder Soup, 1 lb Chicken Wings Dry Cajun plus an order of Shoestring Fries. Love the crispy but inside tender juicy wings. Fries done just right. The chowder was very salty as we noted to Carter. He was going to comp it out but I said to just give us some hot water to dilute the soup; recovery plan worked. Nice decor. Excellent service Carter. Heard a blues guitar from the street so decided to check it out. Shortly after we ordered, he started playing and it was way too loud for a small place. I don't mind loud music, but it was the kind of loud that is used to cover lack of talent. I ordered the corned beef sandwich on sourdough. They were out of sourdough (didn't tell me until the food arrived) and substituted with Wonder bread. Wonder bread! Awful. Came here for dinner pick up based on reservations. Plus they were one of the few places open and accepting take out orders on Labour day weekend. We ordered a salad, acoustic jam burger, chicken wings, and the corn beef sandwhich. The honey garlic chicken wings were delicious to start. The salad was good too. The Corn beef sandwhich was a little plain. I thought there would have been more mustard to help with the taste. It was overly salty. My Acoustic Jam burger was so extremely charred. I wish we ate in so I could have told the server. It was inedible in some parts because it was just entirely burned. I had to scrape off quite a bit. It was so disappointing. The chicken wings were really good and the service was really, really good! We had their Cajun rub wings and honey garlic wings and both orders came out plump, juicy with a crispy batter to round out the perfect wings. What I loved about this place was their service which I have to tell you about. I arrived in Picton before my friends and chose this spot because it was 2 minutes from our Airbnb. After I ordered my drink, I got a text from my friends saying that had arrived at the B&B. I offered to leave my credit card to hold my drink and table with the bar tender- and she was super friendly and insisted that it wasn't necessary. I was surprised but I guess this is the small town service people rave about. After returning with my two friends 15 minutes later, not only was my bar seats reserved for me but the patio table that I was waiting for was also ready and waiting for me! We went out to the patio and they had a little reserved sign on the table. All the tables are taken but it did not take us long to get a table. We came here around 9 and this place is lively. It is a young man singing that night. I ordered the "best cider in the world" and my husband ordered the pineapple IPA. Both cider and beer are pretty good. We ordered a sandwich with sweet potato fries. It tastes OK. Food: 4/5 for beer and cider, 3/5 for the sandwich Overall, I think this place is a nice place to hang out during the summer time. It has a nice patio and nice beer. My husband and I were looking for a casual dinner on our first night in Prince Edward County, and the Acoustic Grill fit the bill. It was busy on a Tuesday night, and we didn't have reservations, but luckily a table had just opened up. I'd say that a table for two without reservations is doable, but any parties bigger than two should think about making reservations, even if it's a weeknight. I had the black bean burger and opted to upgrade the side to some shoestring poutine; my husband ordered the Cuban and also a side of poutine. The black bean burger was okay. The patty is definitely one of those patties you could buy in the grocery freezer section, rather than a house-made one. The Cuban seemed rather small, and not a true Cuban, since the sandwich wasn't pressed and grilled. But the poutine was pretty good. I love that they use vegetarian gravy, and that they heat the gravy enough so the cheese curds get melty. We were satisfied with our meal because we hadn't wanted anything fancy, and found the location convenient since it's tucked behind Picton's main drag, but wouldn't make this a destination dining spot in the future. read more

The Acoustic Grill is located in the rear of the quaint shops that line the streets of Picton. This is a great place to grab food with a group of friends and family. Pull up a chair, grab a drink, and put your feet up (figuratively). They boast a chill atmosphere and even have live music from time to time. It gets busier in the evenings, but their burgers and sweet potato fries definitely make it worth the wait. Their Jam Acoustic burger is a winner! You can also try The Oh My Darling if you'd prefer chicken. The ingredients were fresh and the burgers themselves were juicy. Also, you should note that it's worth upgrading to the Sweet potato fries. Even the poutine was good with plenty of gravy and cheese. Although you should be advised not to get the warm potato salad as it's very bland. Parmesan chicken wings were OK and you can get better wings elsewhere. My advice is to try the burgers here as that's what they do best! read more

We just got into town and didn't have reservations, but despite the packed house, we still managed to get a table. The beer selection is excellent, and the burgers were some of the best I've ever had. To top it off, there was a live accoustic performance by an Americana band (the Fluffy Little Cowboys), touring to promote their new album. I'm really glad we decided to go here for dinner, and only regret that we aren't locals and can't return more frequently. Be warned that it can get crowded and loud, so it's not a great place for a romantic dinner or a nice conversation. When I go away for weekend get aways to Prince Edward County, I insist on making the Acoustic grill a part of the "need to visit" list. The food is great, the people are great and there is always live acoustic music happening early on in the evening (also ending early in the night due to the residents living upstairs.) It's one of those places that you feel like you are at "cheers". Everybody may not know your name but they are certainly glad you came. You may even get the pleasure of seeing one of the local musicians perform at the grill one night and then playing music at a winery the next day. The waitress said the health regulations had changed and that was how they had to serve it. The burger bun mushy. The charming town of Picton may not be rife with options, but the Acoustic Grill is a solid casual spot to add to the itinerary when visiting Prince Edward County. With both an indoor bar and tables and an outdoor patio with seating, there are several options depending on the current weather. They also have a small stage set up inside with rotating musical acts. The beer and cider options vary, but what is nice is that they carry local selections like the latest from the nearby County Cider. As for the food, the bowl of popcorn is a simple buttered variety, but is a nice beginning to nosh on alongside a refreshing brew. As for the mains AKA "Headliners" I was a bit disappointed with the Acoustic Jam Burger, which came out a little cold. However, the chicken tenders tossed in honey garlic were outstanding. For either option, or any of the other Headliners, I would recommend upgrading to one of their premium salads or...a side of poutine. Not only do they have a traditional shoestring with cheese curds and gravy, but they also have a couple more unique offerings as well. Personally I really liked the "Bacon Cheeseburger Poutine" which included ground beef and bacon with melted cheddar and mozzarella on shoestring fries. Meanwhile my sister raved about the "Supreme Vegetarian Poutine" which actually used sweet potato fries topped with cheese curds, roasted corn, fresh tomato, red onion and a vegetarian gravy. You can get the poutines as a bowl by themselves, but honestly it is a pretty massive serving and we found the sides were just enough to satisfy without going overboard. Although reservations may make your life easier, you may get lucky and be able to snag a reservation without depending on the day. While The Acoustic Grill isn't a place I'd go out of my way for, when you are in the area, it is a nice place to grab a drink or a bite to eat. read more

Thought that based on the review the place would be great, went there after a day at the lake for some bevies and food. I wish I could give a critique on the food, however after waiting for 2 hours for our order, I had had enough. When I went to address the issue with the staff, I received excuses and I also received attitude. Understandably, we were a party of twelve, however, I counted 16 people that were seated well after us, they were served and had already left. My message to staff would be in future, there are 2 ways to deal with such a scenario: a: Advise the customers that you are not able to handle such a large party and turn them away, or b: Advise the customers that due to the size of the party there will be a long wait for their food. The other suggestions, which I can't stress enough are: a: When a customer's service has failed, prioritize the order, and ask for assistance to get the table served immediately before other customers are served b: Never give the customer attitude, or argue with the customer. In defence of the restaurant, there were regular customers, that did approach us to say that the service is usually better. They did say that the owner was not there that night and service was not at its usual standard, in his absence. read more

I also opted for fries on the side, and sadly, they weren't crispy (apparently that's an oil issue?). But this review is about my friend's meal. He also got the burger and it was burnt. I don't mean just a little bit, I mean full on 100% should not eat burnt. It was returned, the server apologized and brought a new one. Problem solved? Nope. There was a hair baked into the bun. My wife and I went to Picton PEC, the last week of august passed. I was kind of surprised by the small number of places to go in Picton. It is a very small town so I guess the number of places is proportionate. We went to the acoustic grill based on the B&B owners recommendation. It's a bar so don't go looking for Chilean Sea Bass on the menu. But if you're in the mood for a burger and beer then this place will do. The nachos, a staple of the bar business..... were...... not good... yeah, that's about all I can say. Don't get them... You'll be disappointed. Onto the food. I had the Acoustic Jam Burger and wow. Best burger I have had in a very long time. Local ground beef with some corn salsa and a great mayo. If I had the room I would have ordered a 2nd one it was so good. Wife had a steak salad with a bunch of other stuff in it (I was drooling over my burger, didnt pay attention to her plate) and she said it was excellent. We went there for lunch. It was busy even during the day while no performance was on. I could imagine how crowded it will be at night. I ordered the Cuban sandwich. I've only heard of the name and saw it on tv once, but never tasted one myself. So I had no idea what to expect. When the sandwich came, it didn't look much. Then the first bite......OMG it was good! I fell in love right at that moment. I googled how to make Cuban sandwich right there and realized how much work is involved to make a decent one. And I realized the bread wasn't coated with butter or been pressed. But who cares, it was such a great tasting sandwich that I didn't care if they called it PEC Sandwich or Acoustic Sandwich. What a fabulous burger!!!! We are from NJ in the US and have been camping for the last 6 weeks. We eat out often and have been to the Acoustic Grill 3 times in 10 days . That's how good it is. The burgers come with their home made chips or you can upgrade to have fries or sweet potato fries. Last night we went back on a Saturday evening and enjoyed our dinner while we were entertained by a singer/song writer guitarist. The owner came around multiple times to make sure everything was ok.
