    Cute decor

Naples, Fl - Hungry after a day of travel, my Dad recommended this diner. The decor was grove themed with a pretty blue sky above and large lemons and vines winding around the rafters. The main menu includes many American favorites like meat loaf and turkey with Thanksgiving sides. A separate menu includes many Greek diner staples. Service was quick and to the point. Though it was around 5 pm the snowbird crowd was streaming in. I ordered a gyro platter. It was VERY generous! There was so much meat I had to take a box home. Unlike other platters this one was kind of do it yourself with the onions, feta, dressings and bread all served separately. Priced at $17 I felt this was a pretty decent value. If one is looking for solid, homestyle cooking while in Naples, I would recommend Golden Grove Kitchen.

Golden Grove Kitchen, formerly Mel's Diner, opened yesterday. We were waiting for them to open, since we're familiar with Mel's. When we walked in, we had the door opened and were seated quickly. For new decor, they added tray ceilings, some brickwork and new carpet, but it looks pretty similar to Mel's. The menu has a variety of sandwiches, salads and dinner options, with a reasonable price. Our server Melanie mentioned The Grove buys locally sourced, so everything is fresh. This is good news, farm to table is the best and supporting local farmers is the way to go. My choice was the grilled cheese, ham and tomato sandwich, it was delicious on grilled buttered bread. Hubs got the French dip with onion rings and slaw. I tried an onion ring, it was very tasty, especially with the dipping sauce. We both liked the sandwiches, the food is good and we heard the kitchen chef came out to a table yesterday to remove the bones of a grilled Bronzino. This is a personal touch and the kind of service you'd expect to see in a fancy restaurant. We enjoyed having lunch here and chatting with Melanie. Five stars for The Grove and their servers and we look forward to coming back soon.

One of my favorite places as a Naples local. Great food every time and the people are nice. Easy for to-go food also.

We had a great EXPERIENCE! Three of us had the Grouper special. Mom had the lamb chops!! The food was GREAT. The service was outstanding! The Golden Grove team was so kind and attentive!! The food was tremendous. I can't put in words how great this restaurant is. Go there!!! Very good!

The service was fine. Nice manager. The food was actually really bad, with all due respect. I got the poke bowl and the person I went with got a steak bowl. Both plates had vegetables that tasted gross, as if they were old/expired. The tuna tasted wack and the mango. The sauce was nasty. 2/10 food. The ambiance was fine but it was dead inside

What a treat!!!!! We came for breakfast, but the menu and the special had us try both the breakfast and the lunch. Classic and true to the heritage the gyro was impressive in its presentation and quality!!! Hubby had the country fries steak and eggs, the chef is not afraid to season his dishes- appropriately!!! I added a picture of the Mother's Day menu, just because it's so reasonable in pricing and choices!!!!!

    Liver and onions.

Very reasonable and wide variety. The portions were generous. I got the pot roast and would not recommend it. I offered a sample to 4 people at my table and they all said I should send it back. (I did not)). Very weird consistency and strange tasting gravy. They also had a very talented singer but he was WAY TOO LOUD for a dining room. We asked if he could turn down the volume and it actually sounded like he got louder. So if you don't like screaming at the people at your table, don't go on a Thursday night. We will definitely go back but not for the pot roast and not on a Thursday night. The picture was of my friend's liver and onions and she loved it.

Great food, the service was excellent. They did a lovely job on the decor. We can't wait to go back.

Prime Rib with potato plus homemade soup. Just $26 Delicious. Also you get warm baked biscuits. Super friendly family owned business.

From the minute you walk in the door, you're greeted with the best hospitality from the owner! Even on a Monday, the restaurant was popping with regulars. They are great about getting customers in and out quickly (without you ever feeling rushed). We waited for about 10 minutes to be seated and were promptly greeted and our order was taken shortly after! It took maybe 10 minutes for our food to come out and it was all hot! I'm not usually a fan of coffee at breakfast spots and diners, but I gave it a try and it was probably the best drip coffee I've had! Our server had asked if I planned to share the full order of biscuits and gravy and I'm so glad she asked because the 1/2 order was HUGE! We got all kinds of things: the western skillet, the western omelette, the darling breakfast (kids breakfast), 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy, hash browns, bacon, eggs, toast, a biscuit, pancakes etc. everything was incredibly delicious and will keep us full all day!! We witnessed how much the owner & staff care about their customers and could tell the majority of the restaurant were regulars! Thank you for such a great experience. I kept fighting back tears thinking of my nana and how much she would have loved this spot. The artwork and decorations are so cute and so funny! We will be back!

From the moment we walked in, the hostesses and manager made us feel welcome and had us seated right away. Our server, Angel, was fantastic. He walked us through the menu, explained how many of the dishes were prepared, and made thoughtful recommendations without ever feeling pushy. We started with the octopus and fresh focaccia with honey. The octopus was exceptional--easily one of the best I've had and on par with dishes I've enjoyed at Michelin-starred and James Beard-recognized restaurants. We also shared the beet and goat cheese salad, followed by the local snapper and the ribeye cap topped with lobster claw and tail in chimichurri. Every dish was beautifully prepared and showcased the quality of the ingredients. The cocktails were well balanced (not overloaded with ice), and the Thyme on Thyme is an easy recommendation if you're looking for something light and refreshing. The wine list paired nicely with the meal as well. Watching the sunset over the water while listening to music drifting across the park made the evening even more memorable. Thanks to Angel and the kitchen for such an outstanding experience. Seventh South has earned a spot on our regular rotation whenever we're in Naples.

Our server Mike, did an excellent job taking care of us. We started off with a couple cocktails. I had an Old Fashioned and my wife had the Not Bogged Down. For dinner I had the Chorizo Encrusted Red Snapper and my wife had one of the specials which was the Tripletail. She said it was the best seafood dish she has ever had. For dessert, we split the special Crème Brûlée topped with diced fruit. We enjoyed the dessert so much, we purchased one for a sweet family of four sitting next to us. Our server Mike and the owner, Barry, helped make that happen and we appreciate it.

It was a little cool at first, but once the sun came up it warmed right up and was super comfortable. The waitresses were so nice and really on top of everything. There were seven of us, and we ordered a mix of breakfast and lunch. Everything came out fast, fresh, and hot. Breakfast was a hit--especially the pancakes. They had this perfect little crunch on the outside, and of course we had to order some "for the table" because that's just what we do. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and all the bacon and sausage were delicious. The lunch crew was just as happy. The bleu cheeseburger looked amazing, and the fries were perfectly crispy. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken fried steak again because he loved it last time, and he said it was just as good--tender, flavorful, and that gravy was spot-on. Overall, Alda's Diner is such a great find. Good, simple, home-cooked food done right. We'll definitely be back, and if you haven't tried it yet, you should!
