CrossFit Eastchester has all of those features of a top notch CrossFit box. The equipment is well maintained and they have all the essentials to get your WOD on. Now here is the part that makes this gym the best I've ever visited. The culture.The culture at this box is unreal. I'm in the Army and we stress command climate and unit culture and it takes years to perfect or get it right. Some units will never get it right until new leaders take over or the whole organization has a massive turn over. CrossFit northeast has a culture of respect, camaraderie, professionalism, fitness, and most importantly fun. Everyone from the instructors to your fellow athletes have bought into the culture created at this gym. I am continually impressed by this gym day in and day out. Each coach has their own approach in assisting all athletes of all levels continually improve. Furthermore, ALL the staff pay in side-by-side with the athletes. Once a class ends they chalk up and put the f*** up. It's reassuring to see they are not only human but can execute everything they teach in class. Last but not least, the programming is top tier. I was home for a good chunk of leave and needed a spot to do my programming (Thor 3 & Mountain tactical) and I decided on CrossFit Northeast Eastchester. It was clear on day one the programming at the gym blew my prescribed workout plan out of the water. I was truly humbled when I came to execute a class instead of execute my programming and I got dragged through the mud. I eventually changed over to just following CrossFit northeast's programming. All in all I recommend CrossFit northeast to anyone looking to improve their fitness. It doesn't matter if you're 18 or 80 everyone in this special community is part of a team which I've never seen before. My abs were sore, my arms were sore, and my legs were sore! This class is challenging, but FUN! I never found myself staring at the clock counting down the minutes -- and I didn't dread my next visit either, it's hard but doable. The class is a combination of floor exercises, and the Skiers Edge machine. You rotate in a circuit between the different exercises. I'm not a skier but found I really enjoyed the skiers edge machine and it helped me activate rarely used leg and glute muscles. Shred is new to the fitness scene so they have some great introductory offers. Absolutely worth a try, they found a loyal customer in me!

The box is small but the space is really well used and thus, class sizes are also small, max 8 ppl, which means you get quite a bit of the coach's attention. I avoided trying crossfit for years given all the stigmas and and subsequent intimidation (injuries, cliqueish, etc) but Coach Martin is BIG on form, really knowledgeable, and best of all, really fun. Everyone who comes to this box is incredibly friendly and helpful- a month after joining, despite my inexperience, I was encouraged to push myself and opt in for the Crossfit Open. I had the best support system behind me and I guarantee you won't find a better team pushing you through. No cliques, your biggest competition is yourself with everyone rooting for each other. Come at least 3x a week, don't get intimidated by the weights (go at your own pace), and see the difference it makes in your life.

All classes are an hour and are very weights focused…read morewith daily rotations of different focus groups like abs, arms and back on Wednesdays for example. I started with the Solido class which was amazing and targeted glutes and abs. It literally flew by and I was sweating! Next I tried Savage, which rotated between 4 minutes of different weight training and sculpting moves and then 4 minutes of treadmill work. Their treadmills have handy guides for athletic levels and intensity and the incline and speed are easily adjusted. I liked this class and according to my Apple Watch, burned a TON of calories here, although I do not recommend doing this class fasted as jumping back and forth and the starting and stopping from moves and sprints made me quite dizzy at times. This class was on the first floor. Finally, I tried a Tonic class, which was very weights focused and had active breaks in between the working portions. This class was on the lower level of the studio. Each class has an instructional video ahead of time and moves demoed on the screens the entire time with a timer for the moves and timers to show your progress in the class which I really appreciated. The music in every class I took was always super fun and a mix of EDM, hip hop and Latin music. They also offer a spin class I believe called Stride and a boxing class called Jab The studio itself is amazing with lots of neon lights to set the mood, plants, tons of reflective details in the locker rooms and on the lockers and gorgeous seating in the lobby. The lobby has a bar with tea, coffee, some waters and pre packaged protein drinks. I do wish they had more of a selection of pre and post workout choices but I'm sure those will come! They let me know soon they'll be offering alcohol as well and free wine if you take a class on Friday! You get a hand towel for class and if you want to use their showers, they provide towels. The bathrooms are gorgeous and have amenities provided. Some of the best studio showers I've been in with plenty of room to hang your toiletries. The staff was super polite and outgoing and everything was clean and tidy. They even have a clothing shop with unique and cute workout sets from a Latino owned brand.
