I've waited a really long time to write this review because I like the staff but I can't help but feel bamboozled. I spent about $4k on Emsculpt Neo when it first came out, and it made absolutely no difference in the appearance of my abdomen or underarms. [I took my own before and afters]. I've never had any plastic surgery or anything like that but wanted some help with my problem areas that I'm super self-conscious about despite being fit and wasn't willing to go under the knife. A few times I came to the studio, the paddles were down or something was malfunctioning with the machine. I don't know if that affected my treatments, but I can for sure say that it was not worth the cost. Sure, maybe celebrities or the ultra wealthy see a difference having this done on a regular basis, but a normal person will not be able to afford that many treatments to get results, and I wish Doc Melina was honest about that instead of selling me on a package. [And no, it wasn't my diet. I was working with a dietician and my diet was very strict during my cutting and maintaining cycles.] The tech was pleasant and cool, but I'm writing this as a cautionary tale to those considering Emsculpt Neo. Dr. Melina and Andrea are so awesome! I'm so happy with my Coolsculpting results, I literally tell everyone about this place and the process! I'm 5'8, 140 lbs, 30 years old, and very athletically built. I lift, run, and do spin classes. I eat healthy and take good care of myself, but despite all that, I've alwayyyyssss had a little pooch at the bottom of my stomach. Didn't matter how many abs I did at the gym, no change. It wasn't even enough where it was hanging over my pants, but it was noticeable and I've been self conscious about it for years. So earlier this year, I selected this clinic to try out the process based on reviews and price. I did a Groupon for $600, which covered one treatment using the small suction thingy. I literally had 0 down time! I drove myself home after the 45ish min procedure (30 min with the machine, 2-3 min massage, then a couple min to relax) and went grocery shopping. The next day, I was back at the gym and spin class. I even went to an amusement park and rode tons of rides 3 days after the procedure. The only minor complaints were swelling - that last around 1.5 weeks. Dr. Melina has a $10 band you can buy to help with that. I wore mine for a few days. My stomach was a little numb and randomly tingly. That went away after 3-4 weeks. The worst part was the 2-3 min massage. When the fat all comes to the top post-machine, Andrea massages it back out for optimal results. If you've ever had your nose or belly button pierced, it's that same bodily reaction - you'll get sweaty, maybe a tiny bit dizzy, and it's slightly painful. But it's literally only 2 min of your life and totally worth it for the results! Andrea will text you to remind you of your appts, as well as to check on you after the procedure. Dr. Melina answers all your questions and makes recommendations with your budget in mind. Overall, amazing experience! I started seeing results around 4 weeks ... then around month 2-2.5, I woke up one day and it's like my entire stomach had disappeared haha so awesome! Dr. Melina and her staff are amazing! I've been seeing Jennifer there for my hydrafacials, dermaplaning and micro needling. I don't trust many people with my face, but Jen is definitely one of them. She is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to skin care. Her extractions are by far the best. I've consistently been getting hydrafacials there or micro needling every 4-6 weeks. Since May 2021 I have been lucky to be a client of Dr. Melina's Body Sculpting Studio, so I've been thinking of this review for some time! Dr. Melina, her wonderful aesthetician Tim, and her excellent Nurse Patricia are all genuinely friendly & extremely professional! I feel welcome and taken care of each time. They care without upselling. They provide Beverly Hills first class service, at Valley prices - meaning, they are fair and do not overcharge. The location is centrally located in Studio City, has ample free parking, and the offices are always immaculate! I have tried several services here, and my top 3 favorite ones have been: 1. the regular facials with Tim are SUCH a treat! I've never been one who enjoys facials, but unlike anywhere else, my skin comes out feeling like velvet when Tim is done doing his magic!! So I keep coming back for more; and even my aesthetician friends have complimented me on how good my skin looks. 2. the gentle way Nurse Patricia erases the frowns lines between my eyebrows - we have had 2 Botox sessions together, and I love how precise she is with the needle. I have had several appointments for cool sculpting. I was skeptical if this treatment works . Dr Melina knows her cool sculpting and her assistant Andrea is awesome . The cool sculpting has given great results. I had some small amount of fat stores that have never gone away, and the cool sculpting did its job . I do exercise a lot and have a clean diet, but the cool sculpting helped get rid of stubborn areas! Very happy with my results. The only painful part is after , when the massage to warm back up the skin happens, otherwise pain free. I get microneedling to help heal a facial scar and hydrafacials for general skin wellness. Jennifer always tailors my facials and treatments to my specific needs at the time (dryness, breakouts, dullness, etc.) She recommends products that would be helpful for my skin but is not pushy at all. It's a medical skincare center so don't expect a spa treatment, but you won't get results like this at Burke Williams! This will be a review of the Cool Sculpting procedure and of The Body Sculpting Studio so you get a good idea of how this works. About me: I am over forty and very fit. I work out very regularly, watch what I eat, and was really achieving the midsection I wanted thru diet & exercise, to the point you could see my abs...until they disappeared behind what I called the 'inner tube.' A layer of stubborn fat around my midsection. I tried everything, and nothing got rid of it. That's when I really looked into Cool Sculpting. Prior to my experience, I did a lot of research on the process and the company and who performs these procedures and how it's supposed to be done. It was important for me to choose a practitioner that was well educated in this field and experienced. Dr. Melina is an Internist and a Nutritionist. She's also a Triathlete. Her associate, Andrea, has been in body sculpting for close to fifteen years. After my free consultation with them, I booked my treatment. I had two "paddles" done on my midsection as one treatment. There is a sticky protective film that goes on your skin between you and the paddle. Each paddle takes a half an hour, during which there is Netflix for you to watch. It's cold, to be sure, but if you're in comfy sweats and fuzzy socks, it'll make you feel much more comfortable. After the freezing treatment comes the worst part...the massage. It's important to know that there are some studios that DON'T do the massage, because it sucks. But if you read into it, this is *super* important. Andrea comes in and massages the cold area. It is really really uncomfortable...but they give you a lavender scented towel to grab on to. All-in, I was there for close to two hours. After the treatment, I was back to work, but a little swollen for a week. I began to see results after four weeks, and after eight weeks I was ecstatic with the results. It's important to exercise and move as soon as you can, and support your lymphatic system since that is what's draining the dead fat cells out of your body. Throughout, Andrea kept in contact with me via text to make sure I was alright. Dr. Melina & Andrea are both educated and experienced with Cool Sculpting. They are professional and kind. This place is amazing. First off the staff...it's a two WOman show (Dr. Melina and Andrea) and they are both just as caring and friendly as anyone can be. I was extremely nervous and anxious to have something done about the stomach fat I've never been able to shed and Dr. Melina not only took her time to explain it, her positivity helped ease my mind. As it turned out, I was a great candidate and the procedure was booked for the following week. She gave me as many discounts as she could, which I appreciated because it was a rather big expense for me. The day of, I was told what to expect and we were off. The procedure itself wasn't bad at all...just very very cold. They ensured I was as comfortable as possible and even offered snacks. After the procedure I was consistently texted to make sure I was progressing OK. I wasn't expecting that level of attention. As far as results? YES! My upper and lower abs decreased by quite a bit and this all happened after I fell off dieting and exercised. If I had stuck with it through healing, it would have been that much better. Speaking of healing, for me it wasn't bad at all. Some tenderness, but nothing debilitating and I slept like a baby every night. The numbness tripped me out a bit, but that's about all. I'm too shy to post my before and after, but they may have posted them. I planned on getting it done again to focus on my lower belly, but will have to wait a while for personal reasons.
