Experience is night and day depending on who you get, and if bought online, or prepaid discount pkg (usually sold after a great first time experience). Similar to other reviews, once money is sunk, you'll likely see shady practice where "the good therapist" is usually unavail or they'll double book and game your time until you settle for others. I had a great first massage, followed by some of the worst by others...barely any effort or movement. One essentially just held my hand for a good 5 min (I thought she fell asleep). When I started itching for a massage, I decided to check groupon to see what was available. These days, yelp spoils me so much that right next to the groupon window, I almost always have a yelp window open to check reviews before I purchase anything. Yup, I'm that chic. No shame over here. It's money so I better make sure it's well spent. From the description, they were offering a "pure relaxation" massage and I instantly had images of myself laying on the beach with a big fat umbrella, two insanely hot guys fanning me, the sound of slowly lapping waves in the distance, and some ice cold water being handed to me by an insanely hot chic. Ahhhh.. Back to reality. This is a massage we're talking about. I saw Tommy's name mentioned a few times in the reviews so I decided to book with him. Upon walking in, I was greeted, offered water and then introduced to the man himself. He walks me back to his private room where he shows me the table, asks me which spots he wants me to focus on (lower back, scalp).. He proceeds to give me a super relaxing, firm (but not super firm where I would consider it deep tissue) massage. The hour flew by and before I knew it, it was time to go. Bodywell is better than Coffee...an hour at The Bodywell is like having a body overhaul. When I think of deep tissue massages I picture a muscular woman w/cankles, named Helga, slapping your back then digging her elbows through your muscle like a knife into soft butter until she reaches bone or you scream UNCLE! As one who doesn't enjoy being tortured, I never considered massages but I knew my knots need some serious attention, so I made my appointment. There's no Helga at the Bodywell, instead Jocelyn appeared and a curious thing happened. After our session, I felt better than if I had drank an entire pot of coffee. I was suddenly resolving problems that I'd been thinking about all week. My brain was in GO! mode and my body was ready to join a marathon! Forget the Rockstars, Power Bars and 5 Hr drinks, do yourself a favor and get an invigorating massage from the Bodywell! Yay, I'm a fan! Went in today to redeem my long-ago-purchased Yelp deal and got a 60 minute massage with AJ. AJ knows what she's doing and worked on my problem areas like a pro. She was very knowledgeable and inquisitive, and definitely attacked the areas that needed attention. Not even sure where to start! Bought the Groupon some months back and it's been sitting on my Groupon clip. Called and was able to get a same day massage. Walked in and was greeted by Jocelyn. Spoke with her for a few minutes about what I like and don't. She got busy and gave me, hands down, one of the BEST massages of my life. I am a deep-tissue girl and Jocelyn is amazing! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! i came in for a 1 hour massage the day after i raced a half marathon, so my legs were pretty sore (esp since i pushed hard throughout the race). AJ was fantastic, here's why: 1. she used a variety of modalities to work on my trouble areas 2. she used hot stones to loosen up my very tight runner's legs (which also felt great since it was a cold & rainy day) 3. she kept constant communication with me, so that i knew what was going on 4. she used hot towels periodically to soothe the muscles and wipe me down, and also left a few so that i could clean myself off after the massage. 5. she had a friendly, relaxed demeanor, which put me at ease throughout the session. the cons: 1. the office is conveniently located in san jose, however, it is a bit hard to find. after circling around the office park/buildings twice, i had to call their front desk to get specific directions on where to park, and how to find the office. 2. the bathroom is outside of the actual office (shared by the businesses in the office park). unfortunately, on a cold & rainy day, i wasn't too keen about leaving the office, walking outside, using the bathroom, going back outside, and back to the office. overall, i would recommend the bodywell, and highly recommend AJ. read more

Buyer Beware: You aren't getting a quality massage if you buy on a discount. I didn't get a massage at all and they still kept the money. You are a "low-priority" customer. They rescheduled my appointment twice stating that the better massage therapists don't do deal coupons. I paid 150 bucks! They also refused to give me a refund but tried rescheduling during inconvenient times. I explained that I bought this for my boyfriend as a present for our anniversary and they wouldn't budge. That is $150 down the drain. The receptionist told me that they don't get the majority of the 150, but that the coupon distributer does. It is non-refundable. It is a great scheme because they just make money without having to sacrifice time or effort, burdening the buyer. They reschedule to inconvenient times with unpopular or reluctant therapists in hopes that you don't pursue the deal. Yelp keeps nagging me to make this review so... Came here on a Yelp deal about a year or two ago. Worst first massage experience ever. The massage itself wasn't horrible - it was the preaching. The massage therapist, A.J., was late and nearly the entire time all I heard about was Jesus... Why? Because during what I assumed was going to be some intermittent small-talk, I think I mentioned that my mother was Catholic. Now this is what opened the flood gates of my own personal 90 minutes of awkward hell. At one point she said a prayer over me while doing a massage. Would I go back? It's been two years so, no. I know that A.J. meant well but it's just inappropriate. Especially when your client has clearly stated they don't share your personal beliefs. read more

Came here during the google offers promo, and was told I needed to pay extra for any type of pressure like Swedish, on top of what I already paid. The massage felt clumsy, and unenthusiastic. The worst part was that my massage therapist was playing "relaxing music" from an iPod, which is not bad, but it was some cheapo service - I had to listen to Dominos pizza ads and Doritos ads multiple times. I have been going to this place since June, and i figured now i show review this place after coming here 4 times. Each time i came here i decided to try someone different. Reading the reviews on here has helped a lot and i was able to figure out who to ask for and what to ask for. First off, this place is quite hard to find. Its in the back of the complex, and i had to call to ask where they were located. I talked to a girl and she was quite nice and helpful about it. She stayed on the phone with me until she saw me outside the doors. What i first noticed was that they share with a chiropractor. The girl at the desk said that they are two separate businesses. To make things easier to see and read i had made notes about my likes and dislikes about the four therapist i had, so here's my quick review: Very first appt: AJ - 60 Min Custom Likes- uses Hot Stones, hot towels, and sambra? (i think thats what its called), she uses massages in a deep but relaxing way. she uses her elbow to help me crack. she cracked me 3 times in my back and once on my hip. Dislikes- she talks a little more than i expected throughout the massage and her music selection was different than expected. nothing too, too bad but id give her individually 3.5 - 4 stars. Bottom line: I would go back for her only bc she used hot stones and sambra. 2nd appt: Juliana- 60 Min Custom Likes- my consult with her was awesome, she greeted me with great energy and spirit. i could tell she was quite a chipper one. what i liked most about her massage was that she would slowly go deep and she would ask me how far deep is comfortable. what struck me was that she would try to be consistent with the pressure that i was comfortable with. dislikes- she was stay in one spot longer than i expected (maybe a little too long), otherwise thats all i could really say about her. individual rating: 4 stars Bottom Line: I would schedule with her if i want more focus points on certain areas, but at the end of the appts she does give great advice as far as what i could do to help myself. 3rd appt: Mitch- 30 min compression the front desk offered me this coupon of a $10 30 min compression to be used for their externs. i was quite hesitant about having an extern work on me, but it was only $10 so why not. this was different than others. it required clothes on and no oils. but i kept an open mind. likes: as he progressed on a certain spot he would get deeper and deeper which was nice. in only 30 mins it seemed like a long massage. i fell a sleep i guess in the last 10 mins of it. dislikes: weird with clothes on and no oils. he forgot to turn on the music, so i heard the phones ring at the front and people talking. individual rating: 3.5 star Bottom Line: I would not book anything him any time soon, only until he gets more practice considering he is an extern. 4th appt: Tommy- 60 Min Custom Likes: HIS MUSIC SELECTION IS AMAZING!!!!!! loved his music throughout the massage. this was probably one the main reasons why i loved his massage better than the last two. my consultation with him was informational. he was telling that i need a new bed, which gave me an eye opener. but his justifications made sense. his pressure was perfect and when i told him that it was good, he was telling me that that was his warm up. we were laughing throughout the massage, but he certainly relaxed me and fixed the areas that i told him to focus on. Dislikes: i should have made the appt longer. individual rating 5 stars Bottom Line: I would quickly reschedule with him, as soon as i can. I went here for a pre-natal massage before trying out Jocelyn Amadeo and LOVING her. My experience at The Bodywell was more like a back rub with oil than an actual massage that worked out my kinks. The woman who did my massage was really nice, but I left my 90 minute massage wondering why I was still in pain (especially after spending $150). Plus, there is a chiropractor working right outside the room and the noise of the machine is super loud and annoying while trying to have a relaxing massage. The person at the front desk was HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! She made several RUDE comments to me, for example: "You're 4 months pregnant? Well you should consider not having a baby shower until After the baby is due. You never know what will happen and nothings guaranteed until you're holding your child in your arms." "You want to have 2 of your own children then adopt? Oh gosh, please don't do that. I mean, make sure you can do a good job raising your own kids before trying to take care of someone else's." Ummmm seriously? This was the one and only time I went to this particular spot, although the massage therapist was nice, and the place was clean, but everything else from my particular experience was pretty awful. I've been coming to The Body Well for over 8 months and LOVED Jocelyn. However, last Tuesday, on the day of my appointment, I received a call from Mary. She told me that I would be NOW be seeing Tommy, that Jocelyn would no longer be available. After stating multiple times to Mary that I did not want an apointment with a male massage therapist, she FINALLY made an appointment with another female massage therapist . It took me a lot of inquiring as to why Jocelyn was "no longer" available, however Mary FINALLY stated, in a very rude tone, that "she" would not be returning to Bodywell. Later that afternoon, I received a call on my way to my appointment stating that I would be seeing Tommy. AGAIN, I stated I wanted a female massage therapist and was given AJ. When I arrived, Linda at the check-in counter greeted me with a big smile and pleasant conversation. However, needless to say, the greeting from AJ was as if I was "putting her out" and having to remind her of my recent surgery multiple times, I was not a happy camper. The massage was "rough", as well. The ONLY reason I joined the Wellness Club was because of my experience with Jocelyn!!! I was so disappointed by my experience, I decided to search for Jocelyn on Facebook. She was difficult to find, as I did not know her last name, but I did find her! My sister n law found this place on Yelp and we wanted to give it a try. We are always looking for a great place for massages. Made an appointment and we arrived 15 minutes earlier then our appointment. Came in and waited for the receptionist for about 5 minutes. Then she came out of another room and had us fill out a 2 page form. Once we were done, my masseuse came out to greet me. When we got into the room, it was a normal routine, asked questions and see where I needed the focus on. I told her my shoulders and lower back. The disappointing part of my massage was that she kept putting hot towels on me and barely massaged me. Out of the whole hour, she probably worked on me for a total of 25 minutes and that's not what I paid for. I've gotten many massages and this is probably the worst one that I have encountered. I was probably better off getting the foot massage for $20. Really disappointing. I thought that I was the only one, but my sister n law said that hers was even worst, they started late! read more

WOW. I purchased a session from Groupon, and I am so thankful that I stumbled upon this place. I called and left a voicemail, crossing my fingers for a last-minute/same day appointment availability. I actually got a call back from Mary within an hour! I scheduled to go in ASAP. She attempted to give me directions, but I told her I had GPS and would figure it out. Biggest mistake ever, lol. My GPS led me VERY astray, in the middle of Christmas shopper+rush hour traffic. NIGHTMARE. I sat at one light on Winchester for 4 red lights!! That was the only downside to this experience, and to no fault of Bodywell's; thus, why I am still rating them 5 stars. WARNING: If using an iPhone, don't click directly on Bodywell's for directions!! Speak the exact address instead!!!!!! Mary not only stayed with me on the phone and gave me directions, she accommodated my appointment time, rather than telling me it would cut into my massage. I was SO RELIEVED! The situation could have possibly been different if other appointments or staffing were not in my favor, but I definitely had the most favorable outcome of this experience. I arrived, did my paperwork, and was scheduled with Tommy. My Groupon was for a Swedish 60 minute. I told him most of my pain/soreness was from working out hard the last few days, and he tailored the session to be more of a sports massage. EXACTLY what I needed!! One of the best massages I have had. Tommy is VERY, VERY good at what he does. His style was very fluid and very thorough. He checked in with me regarding the volume of the music, room temperature, and massage pressure. He focused on the areas I mentioned, but did not leave other areas out. Hands and feet included. I remember thinking to myself, he can't possibly have time to do my front side, but he did. He divided his time extremely well. After my session, Mary handed me some information and told me about all of their packages/membership options, without trying to SELL ME anything. Very polite and non-aggressive. I really like the fact that they have package options and you don't HAVE to get a membership. I called my boyfriend immediately and told him to book an appointment for himself. Okay, I can leave a 5 star review in good conscience for the excellent massage I received from AJ. First, the location here is very utilitarian. Bodywell is not a spa, it is strictly an office in a medical park with individual rooms for each masseuse. One of the massage therapists also doubles and usually covers the front desk duties. I've actually been to a similar set-up in Virginia. What I liked about AJ's massage room is that it was was nice and dark (no windows) and had mood lighting and the table was comfortable. I've gotten quite a few professional massages now and am used to lackluster pressure and a seemingly general "one size fits all" massage no matter what you tell the masseuse. What I really appreciated about my massage with AJ is she really went to town on my wrist/carpal tunnel issue. She covered the area with Sombra (same lotion my chiropractor recommends) and put on hot towels which felt freaking AMAZING and made my wrist and fingers feel a million times better during and for a couple days afterwards. (If I actually took care of my wrist and typed less the feeling would have lasted longer). It was also a good amount of pressure on my back which I prefer. I felt very relaxed and well looked after. I was kinda blissed out during my massage (which is not always the case!) but I remember thinking when I got up that AJ really put a lot of effort in and would sit down, kneel, stand etc. to get the best angles and pressure. Just came back from my first massage from The Bodywell and I was extremely satisfied with my overall experience! I discovered this place via GroupOn and decided to try it out because the overall ratings were decent. Typically, I usually request a female massage therapist just because I've always booked with a female in the past. However, since I booked a massage the day before, the only therapist left for the day was Tommy. Thus, I decided to try a male massage therapist for the first time and he was awesome! Tommy explained in clear detail what the 60-minute pure relaxation massage would consist of and also asked what areas I needed work on. Also, he made sure to let me know if there's anything that he could change to make my massage experience as comfortable as it could be - temperature of the heating table, music volume, massage pressure, etc. Thanks Tommy for a much-needed massage session! I would highly recommend booking with Tommy at The Bodywell if you need to get rid of your knots and tension! I was in desperate need of a massage and my two go-to places were booked so I turned to Groupon. There I found a fabulous deal--2 90-min relaxation massages for $59. It was easy to book an appointment, the receptionist was helpful and easy to work with, and she gave me a good tip on where to park (all the way in the back between the M and N buildings). When I got to the place, the front desk person tried to up sell me which really pissed me off. She explained that the relaxation massage was just light touch and we wouldn't be able to focus on any problem areas. WTF? There is a standard definition of a massage and it's not light touch without working on problem areas. I told her I'd talk to my massage person first. I go onto the massage room and spend several minutes with Tommy. He asked what my problem areas were and I explained it to him and he starts telling me what he can do. Then, after all that, he says, wait, you bought the Groupon for the relaxation massage right? When I confirmed, he said, well, that massage is just fluff (his exact word). In order to work on any of the issues I said I had, I'd have to pay more. So I did because I bought a massage to actually get a massage. I feel this company's business practices are shady. Why not just charge the proper amount up front? The extra $15 they charge for a real massage would just make it $45/ 90-min massage which is still a great deal. Why not just be upfront instead of this bait and switch approach where they bring you in, then upsell you? To make matters worse, I didn't enjoy the massage at all. The room was too cold (my hands and feet were freezing), the music choice was distracting and was so loud I had to ask him to turn it down. (Hawaiian and some latin with lyrics). I didn't enjoy the massage techniques. It was a poor experience. Maybe he's a better fit with someone else. I considered not going back to use my second voucher, but I paid for it, so I went back to see Jazmin. Oh my goodness I'm so grateful I did. she is UH MAZ ING. It was my first time here and I found this place from a great deal through Groupon. My masseuse was Leona and she was great with everything. She was great about asking if the pressure was too much, or if the damp towels were too warm. The towels were DEFINITELY the best part as they lessened the knots down from my back. She even showed me some great stretches that I can use in the morning and/or night to help better improve the nasty knots in my upper back. The ladies at the front desk were both very nice as well. I will definitely let my family and friends know about them for anyone that is looking for a good massage business. Thank you! I gave Bodywell a try after seeing its fantastic Yelp deal -- $39 for a 60 minute customized massage (regularly $80). And I can say with complete confidence that I'm a Jocelyn believer. It's evident from the get-go that not only is she a trained professional with an intuitive understanding of the body, but also genuinely cares about her clients' well-being. I actually arrived at my appointment (5:15, the last one of the day) 15 minutes late due to traffic, but the receptionist and Jocelyn were very understanding about it and super friendly to boot. (I do have to say that organization doesn't seem to be Bodywell's strongest point, since they had to hunt around for my Yelp code, even though I provided it over the phone when I made my appointment. So be sure to have yours on hand, if you bought the deal.) Like everyone else said, the place is quite clinical and the walls are paper-thin. But if you're like me and you care more about results than ambiance, then it's not a big deal. Jocelyn led me into a low-lit room and went over the problem areas I pinpointed on the forms I filled out earlier at the receptionist's desk. Rather than just repeating what I'd written, Jocelyn went further and asked about my work conditions (sitting in front of a computer all day) and what kind of physical activity I do (hiking and some rock climbing/bouldering). Taking all this into account, she designed a massage that would focus on exactly what I wanted (shoulders and arms), while still paying attention to the rest of the body (especially back and legs). Everything's interconnected, after all! Jocelyn really went above and beyond on the massage, not only exerting perfect pressure (not too light, not too painful) but also bringing out hot stones and cooling gel to thoroughly melt my stiff-as-a-board muscles. (The hot stones part is when I thought, 'Damn, Jocelyn deserves a good tip!') Afterwards, I kind of expected her to just wipe her hands and be done with it. But amazingly, she came back after I finished dressing to discuss the massage in detail: why she used the techniques she did and what kind of stretches I can do to prevent building up further tension. That is some five-star customer service right there. (One thing, though: please use more comfortable face-towels for the massage table! At least, mine was a bit rough and scratchy.) Anyway, seriously, give Bodywell a try (and request Jocelyn!). You won't regret it. Note: the clinic is a little tricky to find, given that it's nestled in the labyrinth that is Winchester Plaza. (At least, it felt like a labyrinth at night-time.) After you enter the plaza, you'll want to follow the alphabet arrow signs to the "M -- O" building. Head to the entrance on the right, where you'll see "M" labeled on the right and "O" labeled on the left. I treat myself to monthly massages because my back gets pretty messed up from sitting in front of a computer all day and lugging my laptop/crap around. However, it took me a long time to find a massage therapist that could really be effective. Well I have found my place! I purchased a Yelp deal to try them out, and Eddie was my therapist. He was so great, that I was sold on their monthly membership that day and signed up! I went with the monthly membership that was $60 per month (paid at the beginning of each month) for a 60 minute massage. They have since increased the monthly price to $65, but I don't mind. I have since received massages from Eddie, AJ, and Tommy. They all have their own style, but always ask me what I prefer, and check in with me during the massage. Eddie and AJ use rocks, and AJ likes to use this great cream (almost like tiger balm?). Tommy is great at deep tissue massages - he can really work on those knots! I am happy to be scheduled with any of these three, and it really just depends on who's available. Please keep in mind that this place is not meant to be a frilly day spa. They are all about therapy. Yes they are located in an office park, but all I care about it is getting the knots out of my back. In summary - I'm so glad I found a place with effective and reasonably priced massages. read more

So I went and had my massage and everything was perfect! I was so relaxed and at ease when I left. They were even super understand when I lost my debit card and worked with me on that. I booked another appointment for my brithday and was totally looking forward to it! Unfortunately when my birthday rolled around my friends took me out of town and I had to cancel my appointment. I canceled 3 DAYS ahead of time via email- in response to a confirmation email i had received and assumed everything was ok. Low and behold on my birthday while out of town I get a call from the owner clearly irritated that i was a 'no show'. After repeatedly telling her i emailed the therapist she said i'd have to resend the email before she unmarked my account as a no show. I told her I would be in touch when i got back into town but it would be a couple days. I resent her the email and she called me back apologizing, saying it was a problem with their email server or something and she DID receive my original cancellation message. which I thought was nice, I guess. A friend of mine was moving out of the area and had some groupons she had purchased for a few different massages. I took her Bodywell massage after looking up the two different company's she had bought them for. Bodywell had great reviews so I decided that would be the groupon massage I would take. I get massages about every one to two months, and have had a wide variety of different types of massages. I carry most of my stress in my back and love a good trigger point massage to break up those knots. When I got to Bodywell I was suprised to see it was also a chiropractic center. I thought I would get a pretty good massage being that they were also knowledgabe in chiropractics. Boy was I right!! I had a great massage with Jena and was able to relieve alot of pain, stress on the right side of my back and neck that I had been carrying around for the past couple of days. Jena also told me about a monthly membership club they have, where you can get a 60 min massage each month for $60 vs the regular price of $80 and if you come back in the month for a second treatment, you pay a member price which is at a discounted rate. Went in yesterday and used my Yelp deal. The office is easy to find if you follow their directions. Park all the way in the back in between M and N building... walk in between those two buildings and Bodywell should be on your right, sharing an office with a chiropractor. Inside decor was more of a business/office type rather than a holistic environment; however, the massage rooms did have a comforting feel. First I filled out the paperwork, including the one where I mark the location of the pain/tension on my body. Then I am greeted by my therapist, Nicole. She leaves me in the room to undress and get under the covers before starting. I asked for a medium-firm massage to relieve the tension from my shoulders. Nicole did her best to alleviate my shoulder pain but I still could feel a little bit of it when I left. Besides that, she did give me a great full body massage and provided helpful advice to help my shoulder. I was definitely in heaven for an hour! They even gave me a BOGO FREE coupon for me and a friend to come for a 60 min massage at the same time... now I just have to find a friend who can and wants to come with me! read more

I have been getting massages at The Bodywell for coming up on a year now, once a month. Tommy has been a great therapist in that he is very aware of your particular responses on the table to be sure you are in the best zone of comfort during your massage. I prefer a particularly deep tissue massage but if I'm particularly tense in a spot, he eases off and let's the muscle do the work it needs to do. He is very in tune with his clients and will even make sure you have your favorite sounds and soundtrack, if you prefer, during your time. Go for a 90 minute. After a while, 60 minutes doesn't seem to cut it. Also try the 'Melt Massage'. 60 minute massage, 30 minutes in the steam tent. I think The Bodywell may be one of the very few, if not the only place in this part of the Bay who offers this. It's absolutely DREAMY! If you really want to melt away your aches and pains, and truly let your mind go, this is your ticket. read more

I tried this place since Groupon had a great deal. I did not find the welcoming great, even though it was me that forgot my Groupon and had to spend some time looking it up on my phone. I figured they would have had the number since their on-line reservation requests it. The place is setup like a rehab. center and not a spa. The room I was in was a bit bright because the sun was peeking through the blinds. AJ was was my massage therapist. The music was soothing....running water, birds chirping...BUT it was a bit too loud and the radio she was using kept going off and on and became a bit annoying. She did finally change out the CD about 20 minutes into my massage. At first AJ talked a bit too much and I thought, "Oh no, I just want to relax!" But she did become quiet after about 10 minutes into it. She gives great shoulder and neck massage. She used hot stones on me. I really don't care for them and it's not a negative in this review. I just don't find that they do anything for me. After my massage AJ told me to drink plenty of water, but never offered me any even though there was a picture of water in the room (but no cups). "Minus 1 star". A big drawback is that there is no bathroom in the office. Though the bathroom is right outside, it's definitely an inconvenience. Come on, your face is all messed up, probably your makeup is a bit smeared and your hair is a mess. Do you really want to go directly to the front desk, then outside before tidying yourself up? This definitely looses a star. If you want a good shoulder and neck massage, AJ will definitely give you one. read more

Tommy, from the Bodywell, provides on-site massage services at my company. He's friendly and professional, and has really helped loosen up my back. After just a 15-minute chair massage, I feel significantly better, so I'm going to keep signing up for his services. I redeemed a Yelp deal and booked a massage with AJ (Aileen). Overall I enjoyed the massage. It wasn't the best overall experience compared to other massages I've had (even those purchased as "deals") but it wasn't the worst, either. First let me say: do not rely on Google maps for driving directions - totally led me in the wrong direction a few miles away, and the receptionist said that other clients were having the same experience. I thought the staff, including the receptionist, were friendly, attentive and conversational. This is not a spa but more of a clinical massage therapy office. Know in advance that AJ is very chatty and will talk to you throughout your massage. It didn't bother me, but I did find it unusual at first. In terms of skill, she was great; AJ targeted my trouble areas and used the perfect amount of pressure that my body needed (which was pretty intense). Towards the end, and unexpectedly, she slathered on what felt like IcyHot-times-10 "to relax me", and at first it was too intense for me. I wasn't given the heads up she was going to do it, then all of a sudden I felt the hot sensation that was only made more intense with a hot towel placed on top. It was unsettling but afterwards it felt amazing. Aaah confusion! I'm kind of conflicted on my total experience, all things considered (can you tell?). But after the massage I literally felt as if my body had exhaled a sigh of relief. Some of the pain I was carrying was also alleviated - I didn't believe this was possible in just ONE session - especially with the knots in my shoulders. I'm not sure I would go back, but my body did benefit from the 1 hour massage. read more

My boyfriend and I have been coming here since September 2011 and are very happy with their services that we are now monthly members. We were both last there on 3/8/12. Bf's massage was with Tommy. Bf usually gets his massages booked with Jena but he was very happy with Tommy's services. Says Tommy had the strength that was needed to work out the knots in his back. From now on he plans to alternate between Jena and Tommy. I had Jasmine for the first time and she was great. She took the time to listen to what my aches were to make sure we have a plan before getting started on my full body massage. She used just enough pressure (w/out bruising me) and before leaving gave me a lot of helpful tips and advice on my posture and where it was that I had the most tension. Overall we were both satisfied and will continue to do business with them. read more

I went to The Bodywell for the first time because of a Yelp deal I had purchased. I went with a friend who got the same deal. We had a little bit of trouble finding the building and showed up about 5 minutes late, but they were very gracious and after we had filled out a couple pages met our therapists and began our 60 minute massages. I was very impressed by the professionalism and knowledge of my therapist, Tommy. After more than 60 mins (!!) he informed me of the different areas that needed more attention in the future and the things I can do to strengthen and loosen those muscles in the meantime. It was a Saturday afternoon so the complex was very quiet and I had an all around peaceful and pleasant experience. :] If you go for your first time with someone else, ask about getting both 60-minute massages for $80! Kind of a two-for-one as long as one person is new! read more

Linda at the front desk was wonderful to deal with. The hubby booked the appointment and Linda called to confirm and then called again when she knew the therapists were running a little late. Walk in, fill out your forms and wait for your therapist to get you. My therapist was Jazmin and Jazmin is AH-MAY-ZEEN! She beat me up but in that "hurts so good" way. I told her all my issues and she was able to do what no other therapist had done before and actually brought some relief to my constantly tight neck and shoulders. She used a myriad of techniques from the finger jabbing underneath the shoulder blades to the elbow on your ribcage to the hot stone flesh burning massage. It sounds harsh but let me tell you, I walked out there feeling like Gumby on the surface of the sun. I melted and I loved it. The next couple of days however, I would karate chop you if you even remotely tried to touch me in the tender areas. But I can definitely say, I would do it all again in a heartbeat. I came to The Bodywell with a Trubates deal for a 60 minute Prenatal massage. My massage therapist was Jocelyn and she was fabulous. You know how when you go to most other massage places and they ask you about your trouble zones, but then they don't do much different during the massage itself? Everyone gets pretty much the same massage with maybe a few small changes? Well, that's not the case here. My massage was specifically tailored to my needs. my massage therapist, Jocelyn, was very knowledgeable and friendly. She already knew what standard pregnancy aches and pains I was having, which proved to me her experience with prenatal massage. She spent a large portion of the time focusing on my back, hips, and joints, which I had requested, though she didn't skip out on other areas (including an awesome scalp massage at the end that left my hair an oily, rat's nest of a mess but felt soooo good!) Everything was perfect and I left feeling so much better. The pregnancy pillow is a little awkward to get in an out of, though I will admit it was really nice to be lying face down for the first time in 6 months and have all the pressure taken off my hips and sides. This was definitely not a spa-type Sweedish/relaxing massage, more like a therapeutic experience. But I'm a fan and will be back for one more round before baby gets here! read more

I was impressed with their approach, providing enough time before your massage to write down the areas you need work on, any problems or injuries you may have had in the past, and sharing any of your concerns. To me, asking this information is important if your massage therapist is going to work on you properly. My massage was with Jasmin and she did a good job. We discussed what I wrote down and she asked me a few questions. She then went to work. The 1 hour just seemed to float by. She gave me the relaxing massage I asked for. Overall, I think she gave me a good, relaxing massage. All of the staff are very friendly and accommodating. If you want to get a massage from a well-run and caring place, this is a good place to visit. read more

This review is specifically for the prenatal massage. I had been here once before for a regular Swedish massage and liked it but wasn't mesmerized with it. . Once I noticed they had a pregnancy pillow (based on other reviews) and a yelp deal I couldn't resist, so I gave them another try. Jocelyn did an awesome job and was very familiar with discomfort areas due to my pregnancy. I am 9 months pregnant and have not been able to lay on my back or stomach for the last 6 months so it was such a pleasure to get my massage and be able to lie on both due to their prego pillow. I had been to 2 previous prenatal massages somewhere else and they were not relaxing or comfortable at all. they made me lie on my side with a pillow and did one side oat a time, problem with that is that my shoulders and hands kept falling asleep. Got a massage via trubates and decided to come check it out. Waiting room: a couple of forms to fill out, receptionist was nice; environment was relaxed. Massage: Eddie was my massage therapist. I pointed out some couple pain points on my back as I sit in front of a computer all day and minor aches start to form over time. He gave me a deep tissue / Swedish hybrid? massage and found some knots I didn't know existed. Great guy, answered all my questions and gave me just enough firmness (I like harder massages) to work out all that stress in my back. Once it finished it felt like I was waking up from a good dream.
