Came here due to the awesome reviews I saw online and have to say I wasn't disappointed. First off, everything was very near and tidy and the entrance was well lit. I got checked in right away to a big room which was a delight: usually massage rooms are small spaces but this felt really spacious and it's well suited for couples massages as well. I had my massage with Estrella who was strong and attended very well to my deep tissues. I mentioned areas where I wanted deep pressure which she did a great job of, but that deep pressure continued everywhere else too which was then painful from time to time. I think I will remind more next time onwards. Overall it was a good experience. Very few professionals can attend to the deep pressure so I am glad Estrella did a good job of that. read more

Astounding, Amazing, Incredible they all apply! They are located fairly close to O'connor hospital in what looks like a former medical office complex. However once you walk in the front door which is on the second floor, I think I saw an elevator, you are warmly greeted and the entrance is very inviting and relaxing. They talk with you again just to confirm what services you are in need of and asking if you have any particular areas of concern. They also ask about medical issues that are of importance or would affect the massage. The massage rooms are well appointed, soft music plays and I loved the heated table. Many thanks to massage therapist Andrea Galicia. A massage is supposed to help you relax, to help your muscles relax and the tight knots get out. At other places, they claim to be deep tissue but end up being a fluff and buff!. That's not the case at Astounding. When I scheduled my appointment I told Andrea that I needed a deep tissue massage. She asked how much pressure and I told her I needed strong hands and that I have some incredible knots in my shoulders and legs. So I did a lot of stretching before my appointment to loosen up as much as I could. Haha, believe me she used all of her training and skills to really get to the problem areas and work on the knots and tight muscles. She did an incredible job! Since we discussed some particular problem areas ahead of time she was able to concentrate on them and not the areas I was not concerned about like my back. My shoulders weren't very tight but she loosened them up as well. The incredible knots in my calves and hamstrings were ... well incredible and she did an amazing job on them. One of the better massages I've had in my life. This isn't one of those relaxing massages where you accidentally fall asleep. It hurts SO good, but they will fix all of your problems and knots and aches. I've heard wonderful things about the owner Cynthia, but have only seen Estrella since Cynthia's schedule fills up pretty quickly. Estrella is amazing and always learning new techniques and tricks. She listens to your concerns and makes sure to address them. I've suffered from TMJ for years and seen multiple doctors, chiropractors and even tried Botox for it. I went upstairs to 202 only to be notified that there is another room downstairs by another client. Cons: hard to find. I circled twice to find parking when it was just out front. Both these ladies do great work in their unique way! Quick review of the place: rooms are nicely decorated, love the music, and waiting area is inviting. My first appointment I got a full body massage by Cynthia. She used various strokes in different areas of my body. I liked the tools she used to compliment her work. I also got some deep work done in focused areas. I loved the gel she used to massage me. It felt amazing when I left! Made an appointment by calling 4hours ahead. I had a hard time finding the building because all the rain! It's on the 2nd floor of the building. Andrea Galicia was pleasure to work with. I told her I have been having neck pain for a week or 2 and I wanted to focus on my upper for a 60min massage.As soon as I arrived for the therapy, she greeted me with a big smile and asked if I need to use the restroom. Found Astounding Massage when searching for a place that does myofascial release treatment for my chronic back pain. I was thrilled to see a business so highly rated and the site seemed like it would provide services that could help with my issues. Easily made an appt online for next day when my back was really bother me. I added a note with details of my chronic back pain, which was a nice option. Came in on a Sunday and it was so dead in the parking lot, I thought I was in the wrong place. The office is in a property that looks like an old 80's style apt building made into a makeshift office; it wasn't that inviting. Andrea was warmly welcomed me. From the Yelp reviews, it seems like Cynthia is the main massage therapist to see. Andrea was very friendly and made me comfortable. Her massage was firm, but there were times she seemed to hesitate or not go all the way through where I felt a knot was about to get hit. As other reviews mentioned, she did talk a bit during the massage, which was ok. I found the massage to be good (on a 1-10 scale, I'd say it was a 7 or 7.5), however, I have chronic back pain and need real therapy. I made two appts - one here and one at MyoTechnology for the next day to see the difference and which one was better. If you have chronic back pain, I'd say MyoTechnology will more likely be a fit for you. If you need a good massage, I would recommend this place. read more

This review is long overdue, but anyways this review is for a visit on September 1st, 2017. My cousin was coming to town that weekend, and we wanted to get a couples massage in the San Jose area. Luckily, I was able to book a massage with this place about a week before my cousin came. I had no problem booking an appointment, all I did was go online, pick the day and the time and that was it! Upon arriving at this place, the atmosphere was nice and calm. My cousin and I felt very welcome, and the first thing they asked us to do was fill out the info sheet. After that Cynthia and Andrea ( the ladies who were going massage us), took us to the couples room and told us what to do. I frequently have massages, but this was my cousin's first time so it was really nice of them to go over some basics before the massage. Now for the actual massages. THEY WERE GREAT!! My cousin and I really enjoyed our massages, it was amazing for both of us! Cynthia and Andrea were both awesome and checked in with us to see how the pressure was. Afte the massage, Cynthia and Andrea let us know what they felt while massaging us like where we had the most tension and stuff like that. Before leaving they gave us water and chocolates! My masseuse was Nikki, she's excellent, over the years I have been to many places, this one is something worth experiencing, went with cour muscles and severe body ache and my masseuse worked on all the areas on unlocking the knots and relaxed them. Taking note of Harini's review that 60 minutes is too short, I booked a 90 minute couple's massage for the beau and I for his birthday. Cynthia responded back right away and was very accommodating to the time I wanted. The place is super cute and easy to find. Parking spaces were clearly marked 'Visitors' so it was a no brainer on where to park. Cynthia and Nicole were waiting for us upstairs. After she asked us about our preferences, Nicole led us in the room to get undressed. Nicole worked on me, and had very strong hands. I told her I worked at a computer desk all day long, and she really worked my upper back, especially my scapular area! I was pretty sore the next day. She also massaged my pectoral area and when she did, I knocked out! It was THAT good. The beau loved Cynthia's massage. He has a problematic back and she relieved it for him for the rest of the day. I liked that she kept asking him how he felt and if the pressure level was good. He told me after that her massage was amazing. Let me give you some insight on the stress I put my body through: I'm a grappler. I do martial arts. I literally take a beating 2-3 hours a day, 6 days a week as a hobby. I had just finished a competition and my body was feeling it. My shoulders were so tight, it was hard to even reach around my back to scratch it. My elbow was also messed up. It was hyper extended by an "arm bar." So there's my physical stress. I'm also a receptionist and a student. There's a lot of hovering over books and a desk and sitting up all day. I don't really catch a break with my body. I booked an appointment with Cynthia with a gift certificate I got for my birthday. Man, oh man. That lady worked some magic. I thought I was going to be worked hard because of how messed up my body was. I expected to grunt and maybe even cry but I took a few deep breaths at most. Everything was super comfortable and I occasionally drifted in and out our conversation. When she was done, I felt completed liberated from any tightness and pain. My elbow used to hurt when I'd bring it around my back but the pain hasn't returned since! I can't even begin to describe how brand new my body felt. This place is true to its name! My husband and I booked a couples massage a few weeks ago and were accommodated on a Friday for the last appointment. The place itself is really cute and Cynthia was really great at listening to what I needed out of the massage :) I went in with a very tight muscle in my right neck and shoulder area (+ a fair amount of pain!) and Cynthia did a great job of loosening that area with her expert hands! You can choose what pain level you want to be at and I went for a 5 at first, but moved to a 7 by the end of the appointment. I would say 7 is bearable, especially if you really want her to get deep into the tissue and get all those knots out. I felt a lot better after the massage for sure! A few days later, I was good as new! Things to remember: - Hydrate before and after the massage. It's very important. - The more specific you are about what you want out of the massage, the better the end result will be. My husband just tagged along with me and didn't have any specific areas that he wanted work on, so he ended up with a fairly ok massage (he had a different masseuse) - If you are going in with a problem, book a 90 minute appointment so that Cynthia has the time to work on your problem areas and also give you a full massage. My first appointment was only 60 minutes long and she wasn't able to finish my massage in that time! - I was a bit sore the day after the massage, but an ice pack helped. I'm unsure of the tipping policy at the place though. Ended up giving a flat 20%. read more

His massage therapist was Cynthia and mine was Nikki. The place was very easy to find. It's one of those houses turned business offices along The Alameda. They had ample parking at the front house; and street parking is available. My pre-natal massage was aaaamaaaazing. It was my first pre-natal massage ever. Nikki had me lay on my side; with a long pillow tucked under my top leg. It was very comfortable. She asked which part I wanted focus on; which was my upper back. She did exactly as I asked and avoided points of my body that are not safe with pressure during pregnancy. She then had me switch sides to even out both sides of my body. My husband and I came out so refreshed and relaxed. I would definitely do it all over again. They are such professionals I am very pleased. Many massage therapists do what they think you want--but Cynthia listens. Many clients think a massage is a massage is a massage. No. I am a persnickety customer, but Cynthia got the pressure perfect. She used the right oils. She worked the right area on my neck. She drew some fancy-pants diagram on me (I may have imagined that last part-but I know she took notes). Cynthia is warm, and generous; and she has a great voice. You wouldn't think this matters, but when you're naked on a table, and chatting about personal issues, voice is key. After reading the yelp reviews of this establishment and the fact that they were just so very close I set up a couples massage last week for my husband and myself. First off I have to say how quickly they responded online. I have requested information online from a bunch of different companies and rarely if ever got a response back within the hour and it is pretty much unheard of to get a response back within 20 minutes. Astounding massage did just that astounded me with a reply in 20 minutes or less. Okay first let me start with what a gorgeous building their facility is in. Nothing like a beautiful establishment to get you in the right frame of mind - or maybe I am just strange? You go up stairs and into the intake area and are greeted with warm and smiling faces. Cynthia & Mars are very nice and easy to talk to. You start out with your intake interview and they are very attentive and ask great questions as well as making you feel comfortable at the start. You then go into the room and they explain how the massage works etc. Now to the good part: Cynthia worked on me and Mars worked on my husband. They make sure to check with you about your comfort and pressure without it messing up the relaxation of the massage itself. Let me say after our first massage we immediately set up one for this week. We just completed our second massage and it was even better than the first. What a great find - there is a part of me that didn't want to share about this place because I want to keep it to myself however, with such talent it is important to share it with others.
