Ok - this time it went MUCH better. I had a masseuse whose name I think was Kim? No awkward pauses where I felt like I was a table or palms over my eyes... Her pressure was perfect, I upgraded to some hot stones and they were the perfect temperature. The only thing that I think could have been improved upon was one side of my back got more attention than the other, but for all I know it's because that side felt like it needed more work - so I'm not going to dock points for something like that when the whole service was exactly what I wanted out of a massage. Next time I think I'll spring for a longer one though - 60 minutes wasn't quite enough, I wasn't ready to go back to the real world! I had been excited to finally check this place out after a friend gifted me a gift card for my birthday. I finally got around to using it on Labor Day, which seemed perfect since my neck and shoulders were feeling especially stiff. Booking was a breeze, the place is clean, and there's plenty of parking, so no complaints there! Unfortunately, the massage was just so-so. I couldn't get past how rough the masseuse's hands felt, which made it hard to fully relax. For the record, I was advised that I could terminate the session within the first 15 minutes. It's too bad the masseuse started over the covers so the rough hands situation wasn't immediately discovered and the timing to bring it up felt questionable. The biggest surprise, though? My gift card had somehow shrunk 45%! Apparently, it was charged a fee back in January. Definitely something I wish I had known about. The receptionist was emphatic and offered a $10 credit. For the pricing, I believe there are better options out there. Nice enough experience overall, but not a place I'd rush back to UPDATE: the business swiftly corrected their system issue and provided a refund for the shortage on my gift card, this was unexpected but much appreciated. A fantastic local gem. Allee massage is always impeccably clean, smells wonderful, and feels tranquil. The staff are professional and consistently excellent - I haven't had a bad massage here yet. My wife and I like to get couples massages here once a month and they have a number of rooms that can be combined to enable it, so it's easy to schedule. Pricing is good considering the Bay Area and you can get a membership that lowers the prices further. Parking is tricky around dinner time as the parking lot is shared with some restaurants and a local dive bar, but during the day it's very easy. read more

The deep tissue massage here is incredible. Alex is fantastic and is great at getting all the knots worked out. The spa is very clean, smells great, and quiet. The only thing that bugs me is scheduling. Majority of the time when I book an appointment, they will call asking to shift the schedule. The first few times it was ok but now that it's happened roughly 90% of the time, it seems to be the norm. It puts me as the client in an awkward position. It's a massage parlour done well. Booked online, got two singles but they saw us come in together and offered a couples room for me and my wife. I booked Ming. Wife booked Alex. Ming was very skilled and applied the right amount of pressure in the correct areas. Never once said I feel like I was being overworked. I asked him to target my upper traps, and boy did he. I got kneaded like a piece of dough and left feeling super loose. I wouldn't exactly call it relaxing, but getting knots out of sore muscles never really is. Alex was also quite skilled, I think he had gentler hand for the wife which was good. She also described being kneaded like a piece of focaccia and pressed on a griddle like a smash burger in the best possible way. Came here with my boyfriend, booked a group massage: Swedish for myself and a deep tissue for him. They contacted me 2 hours before our appointment asking if they could move it 30 minutes earlier. I thought this was pretty odd and a little unprofessional given the short notice, but we happened to not have anything going on so I said that was fine for us. We got there and checked in and then the person at the front asked if we would like to get a conjoined room (there's a wall in between with a sliding door so we can still see each other) or a couples room. She said it would be a slightly longer wait for the couples room (about 10 minutes after the time they moved our appointment to), but we wanted to be together so we said we would wait. After a while the person at the front says the conjoined room is now available if we'd like to go in that room. I asked how much longer for the couples room, and then she said they didn't know because a client was already in there and they can't be sure how long it will take. We're now a little irritated because we said we wanted to wait for the couples room, but now supposedly they don't know how long it will be. This, combined with the fact that they had requested we come in early, rubbed us the wrong way. But we decided we would just settle for the conjoined room because now we don't know how long we'll be waiting for the other room. We get there, get undressed and under the blanket, and then our masseuses walk in. I think they might have seen us in the hallway talking to the person at the front or something because my masseuse then asks if this room is okay for us. I told her we thought we would be in the couples room, and then she says we can wait for it if we'd like, and it would only be another 5 minutes. So I guess they did know all along how much longer the couples room would be occupied? But at this point my boyfriend and I are already fully undressed and on the massage beds, so it felt like too little too late. So we just gave in and decided to stay in the conjoined room, but we're pretty disappointed because we wanted the couples room and said we were willing to wait for it. The massages were alright. Although we've both never had massages before so it's not like we have anything to compare it to. I was pretty comfortable, there were times that the pressure was a bit much but I assumed it was because of my tension. My boyfriend's deep tissue was obviously more intense and painful, but in the end he didn't really feel much different than before. We both felt that the ending was a bit abrupt. At the end of our time, our masseuses quickly said something like 'okay, all done, hope you feel better' and then immediately left the room. This is no fault of our masseuses, but afterwards we both felt quite oily. They did wipe us off with hot towels but I think those just have water on them, and water + oil don't mix. I saw a shower in the hall earlier so we decided to ask if we could rinse off. I guess this might be abnormal because when we asked my masseuse in the hallway and she looked a little surprised. But she talked to the front desk person and they brought us some towels. I don't know if we broke some sort of etiquette by doing this or maybe it's obvious that you should go straight home and shower, but I have sensitive skin and eczema and I was already starting to feel itchy, so I very much wanted a shower right then and there. Overall it was an alright experience. It was clean and quiet. But the combination of being asked to come in early and the weird communication about the couples room frustrated us and killed our mood before we even started the massage. I booked different massages for us. * My massage: 60 minute Swedish massage with added hot stones. The receptionist walks you to your room and instructs you to take your clothes off leaving underwear on. My masseuse started off with asking where I want the most attention. She starts off with adjusting the blanket over and reveals the back while tucking it into your underwear. She then applies some lotion/oil and then gets in with the massage. This was my first time getting a Swedish massage and it felt like it was super long strokes and paused pressure. After doing the back she does the legs and ask me to flip over. The added hot stones felt really nice so I do recommend adding that to elevate your experience. They constantly replace the hot stones it seems after heating them up and then using them. The only complains I had about my experience is that my masseuse was not completely thorough with wiping off the lotion/oil she applied on my body. It felt super quick and I almost wanted to ask if I could take a hot towel and wipe myself off. Also my masseuse kept giving long sighs and it felt like she did not want to be there which kind of made the experience not so great . * Mother's massage: 60 minute hot stone with added upgrade to deep tissue. My mother loved her experience and said her masseuse did a great job and was very thorough. We got conjoining rooms and in between there is no door so we could see each other. The inside of the rooms were nice and dark. Nothing too special. I recommend trying this place. Our total came out to be around 290 without tip yet. read more

Got a couples massage today & it was fantastic! The two ladies that did our massages were so friendly & had great technique. The spa was lovely. They offer beverages in the waiting area but we didn't partake. We did use their restrooms though. One had a shower in it. We weren't given the option to use the shower afterward. Maybe that's with a specific treatment? That was okay though. Overall the restrooms were very clean. The room we were in was at the very front of the spa so I was a little worried about noise bothering us and while I did hear a few people go in & out the front door, the noise level wasn't terrible. I also appreciated seeing a very large digital clock in the room. I hate when I get a massage somewhere & I don't know when they start or end (because I take my watch off or put my phone away before the massage). I know that at one place in Palo Alto I wasn't given the full 60 min. from looking at my watch after the lady was done with me, so seeing that clock was reassuring. This place is fantastic! You can call them and see what their availability looks like and they will work with you on getting the date set. There is a decent parking lot that is shared with other restaurants and store but not difficult to find. I appreciate there are many rooms, an option to shower/wash off, refreshments available for before and after massage. I had a great experience with Grace. My appointment was on a Sunday morning for a 90 minutes deep tissue massage. I got there about 5 minutes early. There's easy parking in the lot. When I walked in, I was immediately checked in by the front desk reception and was taken into my room. I settled in and laid face down on the massage bed until my appointment time, and Grace knocked and then came in. She asked me about what I wanted her to focus on, as well as my preference for pressure. She checked with my periodically throughout the massage that the pressure was okay. I asked for medium pressure, and it was perfect. I felt so much better after. I work out a lot, and sometimes I forget just how beneficial massages really are--until I get one like this. I asked for a deep tissue massage because I carry a ton of knots in my traps and upper back. I like a LOT of pressure--borderline painful--because I know that's what my body needs, and both therapists absolutely delivered. The first therapist I saw did an incredible job working through my traps and upper back and really opening up my shoulders. I walked out feeling like a completely new person. The pressure was intense (to the point where I thought I might have to tap out), but honestly, it was exactly what I needed after not getting a massage for over a year. I'd also been dealing with lower back pain that felt similar to sciatica, and the pressure-point holds and deep work made a huge difference. Even the foot massage was next-level--he released knots I didn't even know existed. The second time I came in, I worked with Alex, and he was just as amazing. Different technique, same level of skill and effectiveness. I'll be honest--calf massages are my least favorite because they're so painful--but Alex worked through them so well and got rid of knots I didn't even realize I had. Painful, yes--but incredibly worth it. Both therapists had their own unique approaches, but they were equally effective, and I was not disappointed either time. I went to take myself out for a birthday massage and I wish I hadn't. I've been here once before a year ago and had such an amazing experience, so I decided to treat myself again. I had the massage with hailey who did techniques that were not just relaxing but relieved my muscles. She wasn't available. The only available masseuse at the time was Daniel. I figured that since hailey was so good, her co worker should be similar. I was wrong. I used the groupon that was for a swedish massage that involved different techniques as said on the groupon, but his style was very much deep tissue and even the receptionist agreed, "yeah he's a bit more rough and his style is more deep tissue." Why didn't anyone tell me this before hand?! I hate deep tissue! I had to ask him to go softer on me 3x. While he was working my foot, it hurt so much that my foot automatically kicked out in pain. The entire time was so uncomfortable for me. I was feeling really hot from my body clenching to brace from the pain and the only time I was able to relax was when he wiping oil away from my body or not touching me. Also, he did a really painful neck technique where he was squeezing his fingers into the spine of my neck. I was able to hear my neck bones moving! It hurt sooo much that it was almost concerning, like I can potentially receive permanent damage from it. Please don't do this on your clients! Oddly enough, I left with so much oil left in the base of my hair and noticed after leaving right away that my lower back really hurt. I was hoping it'd go away. It's been 4 days and although most of the pain is gone, I can still feel the discomfort when I lean forward and backwards. TBH, I felt like I paid for someone to give me an hour of pain. I tried telling the receptionist nicely about it afterwards and after she confirmed he's more rough, she just said, "sorry we'll give you someone else next time." read more

I wanted to treat my wife to a prenatal. She said it was the worst massage she's ever had. It felt like the masseuse was either on her phone or falling asleep. My wife was debating on leaving in the middle of the massage but thought it might get better and endured. Im so sad that my pregnant wife went through this.
