Went to see JoJo in the Jared admission section, and it was a really good performance. The check-in process was very fast and easy, the employees were efficient and nice. Prices at the bar were high as expected. I noticed that the seating on the balcony was very small and did not look as comfortable as I had imagined. I'm glad that I got GA pit tickets instead. Audio and lighting were good throughout the performances. Would come back to see another performer given the fair prices of the tickets. read more

Went here for a concert and had an amazing time!! I was in the general admission pit area and honestly, it was such a great spot to really feel the energy of the show. If you like being up close and fully in the moment, GA is perfect. The venue itself is cool--industrial vibe with high ceilings and great sound. You could really feel the bass, and vocals were incredible live . Lighting and production were also on point. GA area did get packed, but it didn't feel too squished. Staff kept things organized and the crowd was chill. Only real downside: parking can be kind of rough. I just used uber/lyft. Overall though, great venue for intimate and small shows! read more

I am a fan. We have been coming since it was originally called the Bomb Factory. It's easy to access, intimate and an overall great venue for live music. Other Yelpers complain about the view and that's the main rub. You need to get a good spot to see. Otherwise it's really fun. Clean bathroom, plenty of bar available and good sound. Doors open an hour before the show, there's usually a small line to get in I'm sure it gets much longer closer to the opening act and the main Act. You will need to go through a metal, I appreciate the security and they do enforce their bag policy must be a clear bag or a very small handbag, I just wore shorts with pockets in them. The merch line was long but it felt like it moved pretty quickly. The bathrooms were big, well lit, and there was a bathroom attendee, no lines of ladies restroom! The sound quality is not the absolute best, but I think the stage feels like it's pretty close to the first few rows and overall did not diminish the experience. I like this venue and I've gone to multiple shows over the years here and enjoy the renovations they have done. Rock on read more

First time attending this venue to see Nothing But Thieves and I definitely had a good time. I arrived pretty late so it was already pretty packed inside and trying to get to the front was a tall task. I opted to stand on the side close to where the bar was and I had a pretty good view. The sound system wasn't bad either for where I was standing. It was only when they would play more mellow songs that I could hear people talking loudly, drowning out the song being played. Merch line moved pretty quickly even though there was a pretty long line. I'm not sure about parking situation here since I ubered from my hotel to get here. Wouldn't mind coming back to see another concert. read more

My first time here, and my experience rocked. The gal checking me in had a bit of an issue scanning me in, I bought my ticket on Groupon, but it scanned just fine. She was under the impression that tickets needed to be scanned from the vendor app. Not so! Get yo Groupon, on. Some were surprised that this is mostly a general admission venue, which means standing room unless you have a VIP ticket on the balcony. You get that old school club feel, with superior sound quality. I am 5'5 and everywhere I moved around, I had a great view. Dinks are always going to be pricy at a show, the bathrooms and clean, and I thought the experience ran very efficiently. I came early and parked in the lot under the overpass, right down the street, for $5. Also, Collective Soul rocked. read more

We came here for Dabin (an EDM artist) in March of 2023 for his Sanctuary Tour, and it was a lot of fun: a large space with high ceilings and nice visuals. I'd say as a venue it's definitely a step up from most Texas EDM venues, and significantly better than something like NOVA in San Diego or Academy in LA. The only issue was later in the night, it definitely got uncomfortably packed, and we were squished tighter than a pack of sardines. I'm not sure if they oversold the venue for that show--- the other negative is Deep Ellum as a location is becoming progressively more dangerous and it's definitely noticeable. If you have an artist you like though, definitely come with friends, stay safe, and you'll have a great time read more

I saw many a show here well before the Factory dropped the "Bomb". This was back in ancient times when tickets were only available printed on paper! I was younger and less discerning in those days so I considered it to be one of my favorite concert venues. Now that I'm older and wiser I'm also more particular. That, combined with the fact that some things have changed over the years gives me a new and less rosy perspective. I'll start with the negatives. 1. The sound quality isn't the best. Clearly certain levels need adjusting because the instruments really bury the vocals at times. 2. Visibility ranges from not so good to "why did I waste my money when I could have just watched a concert on youtube?" unless you show up very early and claim a spot close to the stage. The alternative is to shell out extra money for upstairs balcony access. 3. The cocktails are downright awful. On top of that, they're just as expensive as they are odious. However, there still some positives. 1. Accessibility has always been good, especially compared to other venues in the area. Whether you choose to park or take an uber/lyft, it's fairly easy to get in and get out. 2. Restrooms are clean and spacious. Even at a sold out show I never saw a line. 3. Security is much tighter than it used to be. Everyone is required to go through a metal detector upon entering, yet the line still moves quickly. Also, they have bag policy which states that all bags must be either clear plastic or vinyl, OR no larger than 4.5in x 6.5in. I don't know how strictly this is enforced though. read more

The factory is a cool small-ish concert venue in Deep Ellum. They have lots of paying parking around the place and they have a good organization to go inside the place (and security). I have been here twice- to see Portugal the man and most recently The smile (Thom York). The 1st time the sound was awful. It seemed they had the bass way too loud and it was very hard to hear the vocalist singing. But I remember we were able to stand by the balcony upstairs and it was perfect to see the stage yet not be too close and smashed by people. This last time the sound was amazing (but obviously bc it was Thom York and he is definitely a perfectionist). However they now charge extra to stand/sit at the balcony area. So basically unless you pay more there are not good spots to see the stage unless you are near it and smashed by the crowd which I'm too old for that now . I was pretty upset about that. Fortunately we found the right spot a bit behind the balcony where we were able to stand and see the stage from a decent distance. But of course like I said Thom York and Johnny Greenwood from Radiohead are extremely amazing and I knew they were not going to have crappy sound. Genuinely awful staff. Brought a tiny point and shoot with me and was told I couldn't bring it in. Upon entry EVERYONE AND THEIR GRANDMA HAD A POINT ABD SHOOT CAMERA! of course, mine got stolen because venue security wouldn't let me keep it with them after I asked. Was told to put it behind a door. Upon my exit I asked about it and was literally told to f**k off by the staff. LITERALLY! VERBATIM! I try not to be upset about things like this but that's just awful. I work in the music industry and have NEVER seen such disrespect from a staff. Appalling behavior that really brings down the venue. In short, deplorable, awful, incompetent, staff who clearly do not care about their guests. To the venue, I will not shut up about this. LCD Soundsystem will be my last show at this venue. Like many others have mentioned, they oversell the tickets to the point where it is dangerously packed. Tonight people were crammed in all the way to the back...and I mean the BACK. Almost impossible to see. My 13 year old son is a Type 1 diabetic. If we'd needed medical help, it would have been too crowded to get out. Allowing a venue to be this packed is extremely upsetting and dangerous--avoid at all costs. read more

I have visited and enjoy various clubs for musical events. I enjoy the cocktails. Food and suites at each of them. There is one thing that defines The Bomb Factory at Deep Ellum from the rest. Simply two words, "Customer Service!" Caitlin was simply superb in understanding my needs for privacy for me and my guests (due to covid19) and accommodated me quickly with all I needed. I truly appreciated her for her unique genuine care towards my special needs. I was able to enjoy the performance of Jacob Collier in a nice private suite with a private bar, bathroom and attendant. My guests enjoyed the customer service and efficiency displayed. Thank you Caitlin for showing me that Custoner Service still exists such a high level of concern. I definitely plan to attend your facility again when it holds an event we wish to see. As a member of the National Press Club of Washington DC and Founder of Get Up Radio Media, I understand the definition of customer service / loyalty, business and entertainment. ENJOY! read more

Two stars, only because of the friendly staff. But, I will not go back to this venue. I have been to 2 concerts here. I see a lot of concerts and both times at The Factory I left about 1/2 of the way through. I have only done this twice in my life and both times at The Factory. Note that this review applies to GA, which is a vast majority of the venue. If you don't mind arriving early, you can get a good standing spot on the floor where the view and sound are both decent However, don't even try to go to the restroom or bar, because you will have a hell of a time getting back to your spot. The other option is to stand at the back or sides (under the balcony), where the bar and restrooms are accessible. However, the views are so badly obstructed and sound terrible that it is not even worth seeing the show. I would not go again, even if the tickets were free. Both shows that I attended, New Order and The Marias appeared to be badly oversold for this venue. Let me put this in perspective. At New Order, I had about 20 friends in 7 different groups that attended this event. None of us was ever even able to hook up due to the packed crowd. Of the 7 groups, 5 of them said they had the worst time ever (social media posts). 2 of the other groups had a good time seeing the band. But, they didn't even try to get a drink or make a trip to the restroom. The Factory is losing a lot of potential customers, despite the fact that they draw some pretty great entertainers. It's not that big of venue, maybe 4,000 ? But, it seems like 20,000. IMO, they should cap the number of tickets sold by about 20-25% less. Instead, people are packed like sardines over a large floor area and under the balconies. Being under the balconies is the worst. Don't even try it. Unfortunately, a lot of people had to do it. read more

Simply put, the worst venue to experience live music in the metroplex (unless you maybe get balcony tickets). Poor acoustics (not even an L'Acoustics K2 system can overcome a square concrete room with no dampening treatment and no delay speakers under balcony), poor visibility from floor due to zero incline, poor bar setup and flow of traffic (they should cap attendance at 3k or 3,500 and block off bar areas). It also doesn't help that they book competing shows at the Studio which is not isolated from the Factory, and both shows bleed into each other. Staff is friendly and helpful, no complaints there, but the venue simply isn't designed with a good patron experience in mind (imagine if you took every complaint about House of Blue and multiplied it by ten). read more

Waited in a line outside wrapped around multiple blocks that was an hour or more long. The line bobbed and weaved in and out of sidewalks, alleys, and traffic maybe a mile long. Strange and absurd for a venue that has multiple shows per week here? maybe get a better system? The show started over an hour late because they were waiting to get everyone in. Merch line was even slower than admission--writing this review from the 45 min mark and i still can't even SEE the merch table. Wild! I'm sure they won't change anything since they're booking decent acts and likely to remain sold out, but don't expect a customer-forward approach to concert going at The Factory. read more

Went for the Joji concert! It was my first concert ever, so maybe I don't have the most experience, but I loved how personal it was to the stage and the overall atmosphere. However, it was overly crowded, leaving very little space to move, and lacking proper crowd control for people who have passed out and needed medical attention. Went to The Factory last night to see Testament/Kreator/Possessed. This was my first time at this venue and I was impressed by their level of professionalism and customer service. The staff really made us feel welcome and was very helpful. This establishment has a great layout and the food we had was also very good. I will definitely be back for future shows. read more

I really enjoyed my first concert here. The staff is very polite, the bathrooms are cleaner than any venue i've been to, and general aesthetic is nice. Obviously, at a concert you're expecting to get hot, but I did feel nice breezes of air conditioning throughout the show even though it was almost literally freezing out side. A few people passed out and the team responded quickly. There were some technical difficulties that slowed down the concert, but overall a good experience. read more

I'd leave zero stars if I could. My friend and I drove up from Austin to see Colter Wall on 02/17/2023 for a sold-out show. There is NO way that venue can safely hold 4,300 people. I know that 4,300 is their maximum capacity because I asked multiple staff members and security guards. I was in such disbelief at how overcrowded the show was that I couldn't help but ask. The standing floor section was completely packed with no wiggle room. I saw at least 2 people get lifted over the floor/stage barricade because they had no other way to safely exit and needed medical attention. All of the ramps and stairs were lined with concertgoers that couldn't see anything. Management - are you so greedy that you can't cap the ticket sales at 3,500 so that those who bought tickets can actually enjoy their show? Get your shit together. read more

We attended a LGBT event at the Factory this week and the VENUE staff was very rude and unprofessional. They were arguing with vendors in front of attendees, the staff was clearly pointing and making comments at attendees and we all felt very uncomfortable. The overall experience made this visit feel very much not a safe place for us to gather, considering it was rented out by a LGBT party promoter. If they knew the attendees they should have been prepared better, or not taking the appointment. read more

I really hoped that The Smile show at the Factory was gonna be amazing, as it was the first time I would be seeing Thom Yorke. And it would've been if I could've actually Seen the show. This venue has a great location. Great vibe and the staff was awesome. But standing room only for a band of this stature was ridiculous. I had to stand all the way into the hallway at the back of the venue just to be able to catch a glimpse of the band. And I would've even been satisfied with this if the venue has projected the show so all could experience it visually. While I stood jockeying for a vantage point there were 2 large flat screens scrolling adds all night. Could of just projected the show there! On the positive side the band did not disappoint and the acoustics were amazing. Not coming back to the Factory again! read more

Woman are being drugged with GHB and blacking out after 1-2 drinks. Receipts are NOT itemized so you won't know who your bartender was until it's too late.
