The person taking the order asks "what size?" I repeated my order, the dbl cheeseburger Carolina style. She asks, "what toppings?" I say, Chili, slaw, mustard and onions. She says back something but I couldn't understand what she was saying but I heard her say "pineapple". So I repeated the toppings again. She wraps uo the order and I get my food and head home. When I open the cheeseburger, it's just a soggy mess and I see pineapple chunks. I don't understand how pineapple got into the equation but pineapple is what she was determined to give me. I drive back to the restaurant and at the window, the same girl (tattoos all over with pimple patches on her face) who gave me the order greeted me. I said, my order was prepared incorrectly with pineapple on the burger but that's not what I ordered. She says, "You said pineapple". I said, "No, I ordered "Carolina Style and repeated the toppings three times." She grabs the bag and says "you don't need to have an attitude". I said, "I don't have an attitude, I would just like it remade". She says, "that's not a problem, we were gonna remake it for you but you dont have to have an attitude!" The window closes and as I sat there waiting, I call the restaurant and ask to speak to the manager. The woman they put on the phone asks how can she help. I tell her I'm in the drive thru returning an order where pineapple was put on the burger and she interrupts me stating she was the one who took my order and that I had said pineapple and that she is remaking the order herself and it will be a few minutes. I tried to let her know about the conversation with the girl at the window and how she told me I have an attitude. The manager repeats herself again stating the order is being remade and it will be out soon. I thanked her and just waited on the food. A different girl hands me the bag. I check it and they still didn't get it right, leaving off the mustard but at this point I'm not going to say anything in fear of how I'd be treated. So I went home and the more I thought about it, thought these unprofessional types probably spit in my food so I just threw the burger away. The onion rings were dripping in grease and the batter was falling off and they were just soggy fried onions soaked in grease. I will never spend another penny here and after reading other reviews, it sounds like a common issue. My advice: Maybe you need to get a new intercom/speaker/microphone system so people can hear orders correctly and spend some time training your staff on professionalism, customer service and quality.

I always order the fluffy on GF with no cheese, and he always orders the Italian on GF with no cheese. There is cross contamination, so if you are celiac, you can ask them to change gloves, use a clean knife, and keep your sandwich away from the others. We have almost never received the correct order without cheese the first time, but they don't make a fuss when asked to remake the sandwiches, and they are very apologetic. These sandwiches are generous with the meat and other fillings, and the pizza-crust-as-bread works so well. We also get their delicious potato salad with our sandwiches. The seating area is not huge, maybe ten tables, but we've never had to wait for one, and we often take our order to go. The restaurant is clean, and parking is fairly convenient. Even with the issue of having to remake sandwiches, I still rate Blake's a solid five star. It's consistently delicious, and I like supporting a small business in my home community.

Neither me, my family nor Slim are originally from Siler City, but you'd have thought we'd all known each other for 30 years. They brought our food out promptly and Lynn spent time working the room (lol) with her mix of warm, welcoming personality and a sense of humor that had customers smiling and laughing everywhere she went. Slim and I had a chance to chat a bit about his story, and at the same time he made sure everything was exactly the way it should be. Getting to know both of them and hearing about the journey they've been on over the last few years was honestly one of the highlights of our visit. The mild chicken wings were exactly what my family has been searching for ever since leaving the Southwest, where bold flavor and great food are simply the expectation. Today, I'm happy to report that The Bone Yard has officially become our East Coast BBQ spot! We sampled a little bit of everything, including the mild wings, a full rack of ribs, and a half pound of pulled pork topped with Slim's own Carolina mustard sauce. Every single item brought something unique to the table. Nothing tasted ordinary or mass produced. The ribs were tender, juicy, and practically fell off the bone. The pulled pork was packed with flavor, and that mustard sauce put it over the top. Every bite showed the care, passion, and pride that goes into the food. You can genuinely taste the difference. As I looked around the restaurant, all I saw were smiling faces enjoying incredible food, and I knew we weren't the only ones who felt this way. In our opinion, this is hands down the best BBQ we've had anywhere in North Carolina. Would we drive 40 minutes just to eat here again? Without hesitation... hell, we might do it again tomorrow.
