A solid establishment... fish tacos were excellent... and I have to say the menu was reasonable in terms of prices and variety. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's nice to see a downtown place that isn't full of itself[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The old fashioned was serviceable and enjoyable. The waiter was very polite and helpful as was the hostess.

We had a large party that they easily accommodated. Drinks were great, [[HIGHLIGHT]]ambiance still has the same great industrial feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Meals had generous portions and I loved the plating.

Appreciate being able to get some good drinks and some snacks before a Badger game. Nice location for getting to south campus. J Henry Bourbon in my drink so I like the local nod. We were a little rushed by the server even tho it wasn't super busy at the time. Food came quickly. Not enough to deter us. Will try again and maybe do the desserts. Positive overall.

This restaurant just opened this month, so my friends and I came by to check it out! The interior has industrial chic vibes, the seating is comfortable, and there is a bar with some seating and three TVs. There is also a little outdoor patio. For drinks, we ordered each of the borough beers - these house beers were ok but nothing memorable. For food, we ordered the brussels + candied bacon, crispy fish taco, fish fry, and borough burger. The brussel sprouts were a bit too fried for my liking and left a lingering burnt taste. The tacos were delicious, and the chipotle crema really tied it all together. The tacos are served on flour tortillas by the way, not corn. The fish fry was tasty, especially the lemon caper aioli. Lastly, the borough burger was cooked to perfection, and it hit the spot. This seems like a great addition to the neighborhood! We look forward to trying out their brunch menu on the weekends.

Steep for $11. Menu mentions being hand battered but skeptical.

Second time here and still not impressed. I stopped in right after the opened and thought to give them a second chance. I still believe the menu prices are elevated (why would they even put on a $29 braised short rib on the menu?) and my order of cheese curds reinforces the point. For $11, I received small bits and pieces. While the menu states hand breaded, if they are, they are just one step above a Sysco product. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I don't think I'll be back. Edit: After further review, my original review is no longer available. Very strange.

I really enjoyed my experience at Borough during restaurant week! The hibiscus margarita was a personal fan favorite! Our waitress was attentive and super nice and accommodating! The space was very relaxed for a brewery, I think it was the vines that got me! The brown butter cake....I need the recipe STAT! It was warm and the blackberry sauce was orgasmic!

Food and services we terrible. The burger was dry and they had gotten the order wrong, twice. The fries that went with it were over done. The fish tacos was rubbery and there was just a pinch of cabbage and the salsa was not fresh at all. The waitress was not attentive.

I've been meaning to try Borough out since it opened but never got downtown. After reading some negative reviews, I had pretty low hopes but boy was I surprised! Immediately upon entering, we were greeting by the bartender. We grabbed a seat at the bar and were quickly given menus. I ordered a Spaten Oktoberfest, my husband ordered the pumpkin old fashioned and we shared some cheese curds to share. I knew the Oktoberfest would be good because I've had it Spaten many time but was SUPER impressed with the pumpkin old fashioned. They use Doundrins Distilling pumpkin bourbon and it's absolutely perfect. A pumpkin flavor without being overly sweet or overwhelming. The cheese curds were great as well, we got them for $5 for National Cheese Curd day! They plate or curds and the individual curds were pretty large. They were served with a chili ranch sauce which added a nice flavor. Creamy with a bit of spice but not over powering. The atmosphere is great as well! I loved Rockhound Brewing, which was here before The Borough. It has all the components I loved about Rockhound but elevated. There are Wisconsin flags hanging from the bar, large TVs to watch games, a great layout, and vibey music. We will definitely be back and I will be trying that pumpkin old fashioned!!

It had been a while since I had a fish fry. I decided to visit this restaurant since it was a beautiful night and within walking distance. They have their own beers on draft and a fish fry on them regular menu or if you are there on a Friday a special fish fry option. The special is a little more and gives you the option of cod or perch and one or two additional items. Personally, I chose to order the regular menu option. When the order came out it had a nice presentation and they had accidentally made me the special. I would still order the regular menu item because I don't think the additional items are with the extra money. I loved the batter on the cod! It was thick and not too greasy. The fries were much too salty for my taste. Hopefully a fluke! They only carry a couple of their own beers and they are ok. Not quite what I expected when I ordered the hazy. I will absolutely check the spot out again.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice lowkey spot on Park St with some yummy bites.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Full bar and specialty cocktails. The service was fast and friendly, I wanted to share a sandwich with my friend and they split it for us without asking! I will be stopping by again!

The real excitement of this place is found in the upstairs and downstairs bar areas. The downstairs area is known as the Rathskeller which is like an old dank cellar, great for parties. The craft beers they make here are decent, but on the little on the tame side, although I would recommend their I-5 draught IPA. The wine and dessert menus are very limited, but I noticed that they do sell a cannabis infused seltzer. They do keep things interesting menu-wise with monthly specials and featured Dane deal specials. The food overall is on the 3 to 4 star level which is fine as long as you're expectations aren't too high. Everything's handled on the handheld device, including the final payment and tip. They have the right formula working for them, the food and prices are fair, the beer is decent and the service was attentive. 10 photos for more insight, including the menus and bill.

We sat at the bar and ordered a few beers and some food, the girls behind the bar were great.. attentive, helpful and friendly. I ordered a Rueben sandwich and some nachos for my girlfriend. The food arrived in a timely manner but the nachos had sat under the salamander (or in the oven) too long; to the point that the cheese was crispy and not melty. The sandwich was ok, the corned beef was tough and big pieces would pull out of the sandwich when I tried to take a bite. Some beers were good and some were not, the highlight of our visit was the service at the bar.

It's the perfect place to spend a relaxed afternoon -- good beer, friendly staff, and a laid-back vibe that's never too crowded. The space itself is great -- high ceilings, big windows that let in tons of natural light, and a nice open layout. The outdoor patio overlooking the pond is especially beautiful when the weather's nice. It's also dog-friendly, which we love! Our pup is always happy to come along, and we even picked up one of their dog toys from the merch area -- easily her new favorite. They've got some fun merch for humans too. The beer selection is solid, with something for everyone. We've really enjoyed the Lil Louie Lager and Badger Club Amber, and they always have a few rotating taps that keep things interesting. The staff has been consistently friendly and welcoming every time we've visited. If there's one area for improvement, it's the atmosphere. The space itself is awesome, but it sometimes feels like it's missing a little energy I'd love to see more events, live music, or themed nights to bring the place to life. It has so much potential to be a real community hub. Overall, Wisconsin Brewing Company is absolutely worth checking out great beer, great staff, and a beautiful, dog-friendly spot to unwind. With just a little more happening in the space, it could easily be a five-star destination.

Food 3/5: we're used to Minnesota old fashions, so the watered down version seems odd to us. We got on old fashion without a mixer , and it tasted like the added water to it. The cheese curds at this place used to be hand battered, but now seem frozen. The dipping sauce was a nice compliment, but not the most fresh. The kids loved their Dino nuggets with fruit and ranch. The Mac and cheese was buttered noodles with sprinkle cheese and didn't have an actual cheese sauce, we would not recommend. Everyone else at the table got some version of the fish fry. The haddock was cooked well and the portion was adequate. The fish sandwich was undercooked/doughy and was not good. I did like their tartar sauce and thought it balanced the fish well.
