The food was amazing and the portions were a good size. I had the wings and fries and for my meal I had black rice and fried fish. The place is huge and they had a live band playing. I came from out of town looking for something to do on a Wednesday night of all nights...nevertheless, I found this place and I enjoyed myself to the fullest...mature crowd, beautiful people, karaoke, great food, great music...the energy of the place was amazing!!! A Cover??!! In Dover?! Ok fine since they had live music I paid it. Music is good. Food was ok. Service was good. They do have live bands which is why I gave it 2 stars. My biggest problem (this happened several months ago) I wanted to go out to my car to have a smoke and was told if I left I would have to pay the cover again. WHAT!!?? After trying to reason with the door guard for 10 minutes, I went back into the bar and told my group, and one of them got a manager. I was told that I would be "allowed" to go out and not pay a cover. Allowed. That's the word he used. for the life of me I could not understand the policy not not allowing grown adults to go out to their car without paying a second cover to get back in. Few places in Dover charge a cover in the first place. I hope they revisit this policy. I will not go back until they do. read more

The DJ is horrible. They are in denial. The dance floor is quite empty right now and people are on their phones. They asked for requests but don't play the songs. What did I pay $10 cover for? They are playing the songs NOBODY wants to dance to. We asked thr DJ why were they playing these songs and he blamed the owner.. We asked the owner and he blamed he blamed the DJ. The place is nice but the service is HORRIBLE our server came back several times to clarify our drink and food order and still got it wrong. We watched other tables with different servers get their food and we didn't get our drinks. It got so bad I just walked up to the bar to order and since we had wristbands that allowed re-entry we walked up the block to the pizza shop to grab something to eat. Also I can't prove it but it tasted like the drinks were watered down, and for the prices they were charging it was insane. Other than the poor/slow service and possibly watered down drinks the venue is cool and I mean cool as the AC had to be set to 60 degrees and I'm a big dude but it was cold. IMHO I'd suggest pre-gaming and eating before coming here and if you have to order drinks stick to beer and wine as I strongly suspect their alcohol is watered down. read more

I'm not a night club person, but love live music. This place has live music most Saturdays. I met friends for a birthday celebration and I was surprised st the quality of the food. The food is really excellent. We enjoyed most of the appetizers! This is a really cool place to enjoy a drink and food. There is t a lot of places like this in Dover. The service is HORRIBLE! I had a waitress named Crystal. I arrived at 6:45 pm for a 7 pm jazz concert. It took about 15 minutes to seat me even though I purchased my ticket online. After 25 minutes, I had to grab a random waitress and ask for service. About 15 minutes later, Crystal, walking pass me asked if I'm okay. I say I am not okay and cones back to take my order (pre-purchased). It takes her 20 minutes to bring 1 drink and as I write this message, it's been almost 2 hours and I still do not have my food. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the service at The Boulevard. I visited this restaurant/club on two separate occasions to get a feel for it and both times it was underwhelming. The first time I went was for dinner. The food was very basic and unsavory. There was a DJ playing "old school R&B" which I have a deep appreciation for, followed by karaoke. The music selection was decent however the audio quality was frightful! The entire time the microphone was crackling and screeching. It was painful. When the music played it sounded of low quality reminiscent of a bad tape recording recorded over the radio before the days CDs were standard. After finishing a poorly prepared drink and having a few bites I left vowing not to go back. Now being in a small town with limited options I decided to visit The Boulevard again for dinner and Latin Night. Upon arriving at 645pm we were seated and given only the drink and appetizer menu. After some time the waitress came to us and asked what we would like to drink. I asked her about the Peach Rose but she recommended I try the Strawberry Hennessy instead, interested, I decided to give it a try. (Never did she mention there was an "upcharge" for this drink) A few minutes later she returned with the drink and asked what we would like to eat. I asked her if there was a full or happy hour menu since the menu we had was very limited to a handful of items. She let us know that happy hour ended at 7pm so I preceded to ask for the full menu, her response was "I just got here so I don't know what we're serving let me check" Puzzled I just went with the flow and sipped on what tasted like an overwhelming amount of daiquiri syrup with a splash of Hennessy. She eventually came back with the full menu but by that time I was committed to just eating appetizers since it took so long. The waitress made her way back and asked if I would like another I drink to which I responded clearly with "No thank you I am ok," however she promptly came back with another Strawberry Hennessey. Despite my date urging me to return it to the bar I did not want to be rude so I took a sip. I'm one who will drink just about anything and loves sugar so when I say after vigorously mixing the drink and taking a sip it tasted like pure syrup and had to spit it out, I don't say that lightly. By this time dancing lessons commenced so we moved closer to the dance floor and my date ordered another drink for himself, his third. He had zero complaints with his but as soon as the drink was brought out she gave us the check. Two reasons I was taken back by the check, one, we were not ready to leave as it was only 9pm and we did not ask for it and 2, it was $54 for two orders of fried pickles and 5 drinks. I will gladly pay for quality drinks but these were not. Also, looking at the menu the prices listed were below $8. How the Strawberry Hennessey was $12 a drink baffled me. Since I only had one sip of the second drink which I did not ask for and was ill prepared my date asked to have it removed. I do not know if it was the owner or the manager who he spoke with but they went to the back office for 28 minutes. Yes I timed them since I was sitting there by myself not knowing what was going on. Eventually my date exited the office and told me they were only deducting $8 which was the upcharge for the strawberry drinks. (He claimed that patrons always complain about not liking the drinks so he hears this all the time and is tired of fixing the problem. Hm, this really should tell him to fix the drinks or the prices) By this time of course we are ready to leave as everyone at the bar was aware of what was going on since management wanted to discuss it publicly until my date asked if they could go somewhere private to discuss the matter which is when they went to the office. Ultimately my date never had the opportunity to even drink his third drink, our date night went downhill especially since we hoped to stay longer for Latin dancing but it was abruptly cut short and The Boulevard lost our business over poor service. This is not a place I recommend and I'll be sure to let others know of my awful experiences. read more

I like the new management and the food. The Boulevard is a great for people who like live entertainment and dancing. They have great DJs and Bands. They even teach country line dancing on some nights. This is a great atmosphere to have fun with friends. read more

I'm not sure what this place is trying to be. The music genres are all over the map. They mostly sell tickets to their events. It is not really a restaurant it is more of a dance place in entertainment venue than a restaurant. Last time I went they were charging a cover so I left. I'm not going to pay money to sit down and eat. read more

The "Boulevard" is just what Delaware needs. The food, entertainment and entire atmosphere is great. It's refreshing to be able to go out and not have to travel to a larger city just to enjoy good live entertainment. Everyone need to support this place.
