Vibey with a capital V -- and the vibe is old school. The lobby is awesome, very pretty to look at but somewhat impractical because, despite taking tons of space, the chairs are not very comfortable. But it's a great spot, they should just redecorate in the same style, but with higher, newer, more comfortable and compact chairs and you can probably boost the capacity 50% in the process. The room was very nice, clean, well appointed (no coffee maker but you can ask, I didn't). Only complaint the hallways are dark, not just a little dark, not just questionably dark but oddly, scarily, creepily, this can't be the right level, dark. They should fix that; they're well beyond cool. The Italian restaurant hooked to it is decent, but no more. Suggest Bar Primi just down the street instead. The front desk is efficient, the room service was good and super fact. The doormen wonderful. And the value, this week at least, was quite good read more

Stopped into the Bowery Hotel lobby on a weekday afternoon. We sat out on the covered patio (or "sunroom") area, which was bright and peaceful, filled with natural light. It's a great option for a casual meeting or catching up with a friend away from the bustle of the Bowery. The main lobby area is cozy and inviting, with warm lighting, plush seating, and that signature vintage-meets-Old-New-York atmosphere. I had an absolutely delightful three-night stay at the hotel. Not only was it my very first time at the Bowery, I was not familiar much with the LES neighborhood as I normally have stayed in Midtown or in the Gramercy Park area on multiple New York visits. From the very beginning being greeted at check in at around 6 PM I had a positive feeling and I really liked how New York newspapers were offered to the guests in the small but welcoming lobby. I was asked if I wanted them delivered to my room in the morning, and they came in a cloth bag hung on the doorknob, a very nice touch. I was a bit surprised by the darkness of the public areas but soon grew to get used to it and realize it was part of the turn of the century vibe. I was very happy with my room--the bed was extremely comfortable and I loved the floor-to-ceiling window overlooking a courtyard that brought in a lot of natural light. It was very quiet and peaceful and there were only two things that I would have changed. The little stool by the desk was mounted to the floor and not very uncomfortable and should be a chair. I set up my laptop to work there. I had to have someone from engineering adjust the showerhead as it was coming straight down and who wants their head, eyes, and ears soaked with water. I wish there would've been a handheld adapter so that would not have even been necessary but next time I would ask for a room with a bathtub. However this did get fixed quickly and the other time I had to call for service was when the Nespresso machine wouldn't work and that was promptly repaired as well. I also had very excellent experiences in the bar for two different nights. Really great and attentive and friendly service as a hotel guest. I thoroughly enjoyed being there. The capper on this great experiences came more than a week later when I got an email notification from the front desk that some earrings of mine were found which I now believed to have been left in the safe (as they were definitely not on a countertop.) A photo was included. They are being sent back to me at this writing. I really appreciate that extra effort and I really look forward to my next visit there as I am now in love with the Bowery Hotel! read more

I have now stayed at the Bowery twice, selecting this hotel for the location and high end details. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-appointed with nightly turndown service. The lobby has oversized couches and popular bar with free morning coffee. The Bowery definitely gives a haunted vibe with its dim lobby, old elevators, and narrow hallways. I'm one that usually gets freaked out by anything that hints at American Horror Story, but for some reason, this hotel feels all good to me. I'll continue to be a repeat guest and encourage you to check it out! read more

I came to this hotel for an event that I paid for and I had to use the restroom really badly and they would not allow me to use their restroom at all because I'm not a guest that staying at the actual hotel. They told me to go across the street to Popeyes I think that this is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard and I don't recommend anyone comes here. Can't speak for staying here but the drinks were great. The hotel bar has a lot of space, both at the bar and lounging. The espresso martinis were a great night cap. I have stayed here around a half dozen times both for work and pleasure and I always have a wonderful visit. In fact, when my husband and I came to town for Thanksgiving last year we decided to mix it up by staying at a different hotel and while it was lovely we wished we had stayed at the Bowery. There simply is no beating the location! It's walkable to almost all of our favorite NYC restaurants and shops and getting a drink in the lobby bar at the end of a long day is really just the best. This review is for the Arte Agave event that took place in September 2023 at the Bowery hotel. What a night! First of all, the rooftop area and outside setup was delightful. The views are great and the place is simply beautiful. Inside were several event areas and bars that were nicely decorated and the service was impeccable. The event itself was so much fun with dancing and singing, cricket tasting and various Mexican food stations and drinks to be tasted. The special drinks were beautiful and the bartenders were doing mystical mixology shows for eager customers. I would return to the event and also to the rooftop area of Bowery hotel. We tell the host we want to get drinks. He walks us to a crowded bar with no seats left whatsoever. Meanwhile, there's plenty of open tables and seats in the lounge area. We find him again, and I tell him "is there a place where we can actually seat?". He barely even responded. I decided to walk out at that point. Apparently this place thinks it's OK to welcome guests when there's no space whatsoever, and having a a 50% empty lobby while not allowing guests to sit there just looks completely ridiculous. On top of that, they have a dismissive attitude towards customers. Avoid at all costs. read more

If there was ever a boutique hotel that had everything and never missed a beat, this is it. We just happened to stay here during the first major snow storm in years and what a great way to ride this storm out. A romantic atmosphere with oversized window view of Soho streets, folding doors to the bathroom that opened for a full view or closed for privacy. The King Size room was quite spacious with an oversized deep bath with bath salt and bubble bath and shower head. Also a large separate shower with a ceiling shower that had great water preasure. The bathroom was stocked with bottles of shampoo, conditioner, soap and body lotion. All on a large sink area with two sinks and inside the shower and on the bathtub ledges. Plenty of towels and fantastic and timely maid service to replenish everything. Cozy robes and slippers were supplied as well. The king bed was so comfortable and the first thing we noticed when we walked in was the Bowery Teddy Bear sitting up between the pillows. Cans of water and cookies were brought to the room every night. Next to our large windows was a round table with 2 chairs to eat in when ordering room service which we did the morning of the storm. Nowhere to go that day so we ordered in a fabulous breakfast which was sent up from Gemma restaurant next door, a whole other review to come. Breakfast was fantastic and brought up in 20 minutes. Plenty of drawer and closet space with a safe. Iron, hair drier in the closet. A large bar stocked with beverages and plenty of snacks. If New York did not offer so much we could of lived here the whole time. The famous 310 Bowery Bar and lounge downstairs is ornate, cozy and inviting for an afternoon or late night of cocktails. Open until 4:00 am and food can also be ordered from the Gemma restaurant. If you can get the couches next to the warm fireplace, it's even more cozy. We were able to with some friends that met us here. There were couches and comfortable chairs everywhere with tables for drinks and food. We spent a lot of time in the lounge before venturing out to the great Noho and Soho restaurants within walking distance. Bowery Hotel is located blocks from some of the best restaurants and bars in NYC also among nice residential streets. Great area to walk NYC. They do have a gym to workout but we never got there to review it. The staff everywhere is so friendly and accommodating and anything you need is welcomed with a smile and great conversation. We have stayed at plenty of boutique hotels in NYC, but nothing beats the cozy atmosphere of the guest rooms and lounge here. You never run out of anything in the room. Can't beat the accommodations here. We can' wait to ride out another snow storm here. read more

I really had high expectations for what I thought would be a five star experience. Turned out to just be expensive and not worth the hype unfortunately. Bummed. We had requested an early check in prior to our arrival to which we were put on a waitlist for- understandable. Our room should have been ready at 3pm. It was not ready until about 4pm and got offered a complimentary round of drinks.. which we didn't really want.. But it was a nice gesture and did order the two drinks. The room was incredibly small. Tripping over our luggage most of the time. The room had a street view and it was nice to have a large window view but it was uncomfortably noisy. The windows are so thin it seemed they were opened for the amount of noise in the room. They did provide complimentary ear plugs. Ordered room service for breakfast one morning, the woman over the phone was very professional and nice. She was thorough with the order. The only thing is when you have a carafe of coffee on your room service menu- there should be some options I would think, maybe flavoring/creamers/ different sweetener options?? They basically just had honey for sweetener. So the coffee wasn't to my liking. The eggs were cold by the time they reached the room and the roasted potatoes were extremely salted and just did not taste good. $40 for breakfast I didn't eat. So save your money and go somewhere outside of the hotel. Room cleaning service was pretty standard with the room. The bathroom after cleaning service had unwashed towels hung up which was unacceptable- they had brown residue. At the end out of our stay at check out, there were two guests going over room charges thoroughly with the front desk staff, felt very hostile, but now I understand why.. we waited our turn for checkout without acknowledgement from front desk. I get it, it can be stressful. But there should be some kind of customer service for other customers. Once we checked out, it seemed quick, efficient, and to the point. I was happy to check out. Checked my credit card statement to which there were no more hold and pending charges and now just charges. One charge was accurate for the stay, that I had the itemized receipt for. There was an additional charge of $100. I called to ask what the additional charge was. I was told that I 'took' the very heavy tassel keychain that the old fashioned room key is attached to. I had returned everything at checkout keys and guest fobs. It was their mistake. I was refunded right away. Highly unorganized. Wouldn't recommend. read more

This hotel is a solid 4star. Only negative is no valet parking and the lobby area is a little tired. Now for all the positives of which there are many. Staff is very friendly & helpful. Rooms are very quiet & we had a beautiful patio. The restaurant that is attached has great service & everything we ordered was very good. The lounge is a local favorite & always busy in the evening. I came here for an event so I can only speak for the event space and the staff but both lived up to great expectations for the evening. I was at a black tie charity gala, my first ever. The organizers definitely made a good choice in this venue and if I were invited to another event being held here that didn't cost too much I'd most likely return. ONE OF THE WORST dining experiences I've ever had. It's easily 100$ a seat and for my date and I expecting a semi professional and delicious dinner, it was FAR from it. The waiter approached and said, "So are you going to order something?". He had no knowledge of any specials, didn't bring bread, took both of our orders and delivered the salad, appetizer and entre at the exact same time. Had no information on any wines... just poured my glass first full first, then my girlfriends. When I asked that we be able to eat our salads and appetizer first, he put the entree's under a heat lamp and brought the exact same dishes back, 20 min later cold. This was literally one of the most abysmal displays of hospitality I've seen in living in the city the last 20 years. read more

Woke up in the country yesterday with the thought (intuition) of having to spend the night at the Bowery so I hopped onto their easy breezy booking system and got myself a room with one of the huge tubs and looked forward to some rest. Summer in the city is the best. Had I known what was to happen, however, I may have not gone, but I'll get to that in a bit. Even though I knew none of the desk greeters this visit, all were friendly. They explained the new policy where you need to book a deluxe room to guarantee a tub. Duly noted. Ramon, who I hadn't seen in awhile, remembered me right away and my beloved Pekingese Prince Booda (rip) who loved the Bowery. Booda would sprawl out on his back in the lobby bar preventing other guests from passing. He owned his attitude and everyone loved him for it. Mario's still here too and he's the best - he usually works days and is so dapper. When visiting, do plan to eat / drink in the lobby, back on the covered patio or out front at Gemma. Or, order room service - Booda certainly loved his medium rare burgers served on china. If you can get a room with an outdoor patio, they are an awesome way to enjoy your time in the city. And, also plan on biking around on one of their red bikes. In fact, maybe I'll hop on one to go see my acupuncturist later. So, why I didn't rest? Because I participated in some Keanu Reeves dream / other dimension / whatever encounters all freaking night long. And, I was completely conscious during them and wanted to wake up so I could rest. An older women was also conscious in this gathering (there were about 7 people present) and telling me to have "patience" no less - wtf?! You know, these encounters started about the time Booda and I began to stay at the Bowery - 9 years ago now. I still don't know why they happen - it's not like I'm a fan or anything - but maybe I haven't learned what I need to learn or something - like some psychic Harry Potter type schooling or whatever. When I awoke to this reality to get some rest and soak in the tub, I was pondering whether the cemetery in the back of the Bowery contributed to such lucidity last night - like a thinner veil between the worlds. Speaking of the thinner veil, that may also be the reason Sheila and I from the Ion radio show days, once saw an Angel in the flesh walk out onto the back patio one crowded night and sit at the farmost seat. We were mesmerized by him being there and then were surprised to see him smoking on the bench out front observing us get into my Porsche. I later learned the Angel was there to observe nightlife in our day and age and was intrigued I particularly would have been in such an environment. Anyway, I highly recommend the Bowery Hotel and all it has to offer. The neighborhood is totally great with a Whole Foods close by as well for some quick nourishment or food bar chicken for your dog. Bummer the Sunshine closed but you've got the Angelika not too far away or a great selection of in room movies to watch and be like Eloise tucked away in a luxury hotel having fun. read more

The low star rating on this hotel is CONFUSING! If you have the money to stay here, do it. It's wonderful. Not only is it so beautiful, warm, private with a feeling of old Hollywood, it has a great lobby that have been some of the best nights I've had in New York. It's a true New York experience! I call it the Chateau Marmont of NY things to love: Cozy rooms, try and get a corner room with a tub- they are amazing with full window views of the streets. Quality decor, sturdy black our curtains. Nice and clean room with a comfortable bed. Bath has a "rain shower head" which makes it impossible to take a shower without getting your hair wet. My largest complaint is that room cleaning service came after 7:00 pm two of four nights Nice location but you should try other restaurants. read more

I'm on the fences about this place. You can bring your dog here for free which is great but the main problem is no WiFi password. We stayed here and got hacked and it's been a nightmare ever since. I don't know who they hire as your internet security tech person but fire their ass. I'm in internet security and the first thing you learn is to put a password to the WiFi. You are a big Hotel, have passwords so your guest can be online safely. Now, when you don't have a password a hacker can make a fake copy link. So when people think they are getting on your WiFi they are being redirected to the hackers fake WiFi. Giving them access to each guest laptops. I know that's a lot but yea fired who ever you hired. And when I say got hacked this person had all my logins to all my business social media accounts. Keeps sending me fake text messages from the short numbers like 3303 saying my PayPal password has been changed. I had to create new emails and delete old ones, delete accounts and change all my credit card numbers. Once hackers get into your system its hell. I even got a new damn laptop and just broke the old one. Its crazy that hackers can setup worm software in your laptop without you even knowing, collecting your information all over again. read more

I had a great stay here. Perfect location. Kind, helpful staff. The restaurant was good. I loved the hotel guest only bar/lounge area... a beautiful outdoor space. The rooms are boutique sized, but not small. The bright windows had impressive sound cancelling glass. Pretty bathrooms. Luxury bedding. Large selection of various snacks, drinks to buy in the room. The best thing? They provide a Bowery Bear to keep you company. I'll be happy to stay here on my next visit the the city. read more
