Worst worst worst possible service. These guys are scammers and deserve less than 1 star. They kept my car for almost a week and did nothing to actually repair it. I reached out to them and they said that they got the car when it wasn't running and because they got it to run they didn't need to do anything else. I literally expressed that I wanted whatever was wrong with my car to be fixed. He said that they checked everything and the car was all good. My car died within of a day of getting it back. If they ran all these diagnostics and said that the car was fixed then why is this all happening? I called them to let them know what is going on and they wanted to charge me even more. My car is now not working and needs to be towed. Worst mechanics ever. STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS. They don't care about customers in anyway and pretend that they are here for you, just to scam you out of your money. I will be taking extra steps to make sure that they are held responsible. The saddest part is the business owners response. They refuse to hold themselves accountable and deny any wrongdoing even though they said they would fix it and gave me the car back in worst condition than I dropped it off. This place is great, when you want that Hialeah back yard "mechanic" experience in Hallandale then this is the place.

I came to this shop basically just to use the lift - needed to install one of the rear muffler. The original muffler was cut after the accident so the whole job was just to lose 2 bolts, hang the muffler on 2 rubber bushings, tight 2 bolts back (zero welding) - 10 minutes job plus I brought all the parts. To my amazement the guy charged me $90 (!!!!!) For literally 10 min job. When I asked for some discount he replied if I am CRAAAZYYY... Seriously??? I have known the owner Steve for over 30 years since he started at Brake World in Miami shores on US 1 and I was in high school. I take my BMW here for maintenance and repairs. I went to Brake Authority on the recommendation of a guy who works at An oil change company. They worked on my axle and I bought used tires from them. Their prices were very fair they were fast and were kind enough to show me each part they had replaced and the reasons for it. Steve was fantastic and I will definitely be returning to them next month for some other work. They do work on cars... Whatever you need. Went to this shop in error thinking I was at Brake Kingdom. I should have kept searching. A few months ago I went them for brakes only to be diagnosed for work that wasn't necessary. I was told by phone that I needed all 4 rotors replaced with brake pads. I rushed over and only fronts needed to be replaced. Recently I discovered that they replaced the front with low quality rotors vs the high quality sport rotors I previously had. Disappointed. read more

I was at brake authority at Hallendale, hallendale beach blvd., for a heat shield adjustment. He was quick enough to bring my 12 year old car in and lift her to show me what he would do to adjust it. He told me there were two options. The first was to remove the heat shield completely. The other was to clamp 2 sides with wires to stop the 'rattling'. I opted to clamp it with 2 wires. I asked how much and he said 50. I tried to negotiate to 30 for (as he said "2 minute job") it. He started to yell at me. "My time cost 90$ an hour and you bringing me down? Take her off the lift!", he barked at another employee. My son and I left. I don't mind being told no, I highly doubt this was the correct way to go about it. I am NOT recommending this outfit, purely for the customer service it provided. read more

Best mechanic I've been to yet in South Florida, and I've been to a lot. The owner Steve helped me out when my car was overheating. He was honest and did a great job on the car, charged fairly, didn't gouge me on the pricing. Came in with what I thought was just a brake issue but turned out to be a loose bearing that shredded the inside of my wheel hub and damaged my CV joint & Rotor. Steve (the owner) walked me through every step of the repair and showed me everything that was damaged & the new parts they were going to install. A stand-up guy w/ great mechanics and very reasonable prices. It wasn't a cheap repair to begin with, but he definitely went out of his way to help me out. This place is amazing, definitely recommend! I had a late afternoon run-in with a parking block that dislodged the plastic covering under the motor at the front of my car that left the plastic hanging and dragging as I drove. I wasn't anywhere near home and couldn't risk driving like that for very long. I called a bunch of places in the area but it was 6:15pm so they were all closed or closing. I heard about this place from a nice man at jiffy lube who told me Brake Authority might still be open. I called and a saint named Steve answered my panicked call. He told me they were closing but asked how long it would take me to get there. I told him 10 and he told me to come by. I dashed over, the entire time praying that this place wasn't going to charge me an arm and a leg (and probably my first born child) as some places tend to do to women. Steve promptly attended me and I was in and out in under 20 minutes and for a completely fair price of $20! Considering I kept them open late, the service was amazing, and the price was incomparable, I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anybody in the area. Got my brakes and rotors changed on my car. Service was great and quick. Price was pretty fair as well. Came back a week later for them to fix my truck. Referred me to a tow truck driver that gave me a nice price to have my truck towed to their shop. Figured out the problem was my gas pump, fixed it for a great price. They even referred me to a lock smith with great prices. This is definitely going to be my new auto shop to take care of all my vehicles. read more

I feel the Brake Authority really cares about their customers and are honest mechanics. They don't nickel and dime you, their too professionals. When their is something wrong with your car they explain why it needs to be repaired and will show you the part that is damaged. They have very reasonable prices and would never rip you off.
