The patio/beer selection is awesome! As far as service goes, our server was not interested or cared. The food was below average, the French fries were super oily, buffalo chicken dip was fantastic but very small portion for $8.99. Over all this is a place to grab a beer and that is it! Exactly what was needed in Round Rock. The atmosphere was perfect. Great layout and the hardwood decor was slick. Beer selection was impressive, both draft and bottles. I agree with one of the previous comments - watch the pours, too much head on several of the beers we ordered. In addition, please make sure the bartenders and wait staff are up to speed on beer knowledge. This will make recommendations much smoother. Lastly, pretzels or some snack food would be nice. Our group started to get hungry and our only option was the exit. We did see someone in the back who brought food in a styrofoam box. Looked a little odd in a place like this, but not really a big deal. Overall, we loved the place and will be back often. You're off to a great start! When you talk about taps+bottles, there is no place in Austin with a better beer selection.

This location is way better than the Domain one. People are much friendlier here than domain which is starting to feel like a snobby west sixth crowd. We have had a 50/50 experience at the domain one and 100% great one at this one so keep it up!! read more

I like this bar, good beers and great service. Unfortunately the food was horrible, cold and expensive. I discovered that it was food from restaurant next door ( Louisiana longhorn cafe) and the bar should not sell or allow to sell that crappy food and that's why I cannot give you a 5 stars. read more

On the rare occasion that we go out, we like to go into downtown Round Rock to The Brass Tap. We like beer and love to try new brews and The Brass Tap always has PLENTY of options to choose from! I find the bartender and waitresses helpful and knowledgeable about most of the beers and have taken (and loved!) their suggestions on several occasions. I'm even part of their "Brew Crew" now, although I've yet to earn my Rookie T-shirt! Guess I have to drink more beer! read more

Love this place, i am a proud member of the Brew Crew, a reward system where you get points for trying new beers. and its a point system that actually pays out! definitely a must for the beer enthusiast. always been met with friendly staff, they have never gotten impatient with me or ignored me. you can take DOGS on the patio, though its a cigar patio so expect some smoke. place is always clean, never had a problem with the bathrooms. They do have a limited food selection. i have not tried their pizza but it looks pretty good, their peri peri panini on the other hand left much to be desired. This is not a food place though, a couple snackatizers and pretzel pizzas and thats it. this is a place to have beers and cigars, period. if you are expecting to have an extensive food menu, go somewhere else, then come to the Tap for a cold brewskie to wash it down. read more

I really like this place. The environment is laid back and they have a great selection of beer. They usually have live music outside on the patio on the weekends so that's good. The only thing- there's not much food so get dinner beforehand! read more

Knowledgeable friendly bar staff and they're not all bearded hipsters. I counted 60 taps of quality beer. In addition they have a great section of bottled beer. The bar is quaint and traditional. They have a cigar selection and an outdoor biergarten. Tv's, music, booths, and tables make this a well designed bar for an afterwork brew, afternoon refresher, or a late light nightcap. For food fare.....I've only tried the pretzel. Don't come for the food! Do stay and try a new brew. Great pub, not pretentious at all, but I guess it could pretend if you play that way. After a crazy SXSW night I had an amazingly relaxing time at Brass Tap. Their craft Beer selection is killer ( their beer guy is from San Clemente no wonder). They are getting awesome rarities from Oscar blues and dogfish head as well as locals an many more. A great cigar selection too. Awesome atmosphere. read more

The beer selection is large and in charge. If you want to try all kinds of stuff from people who know the ins and outs, this place is for you. Know going in that you will definitely pay for it. If you're the kind of person that finds your beer and sticks with it (me-ish), I would head across the street to Junior's, the Rock, or Coco's Lounge. I think they all have better, less expensive food and the atmosphere is a little less fancy. I'm more of a dive bar man myself. read more

What a cool place! I love this area and I enjoyed my visit to The Brass Tap. There was a huge, almost overwhelming selection. The environment is comforting there. Everyone is there to enjoy life and relax. The staff was friendly, and the beer options were good, but the set up of the menu was kind of difficult to wade through. Love this place! This is the absolute go-to spot for craft beer lovers in RR. 50+ craft taps and a ton more bottles. They often have live music on the weekends and the staff is not just slinging beers they are knowledgeable about their selection. Drinks and food were great! The service left something to be desired... we were herded like cattle to order our drinks... the waitstaff was less than friendly and definitely rude when we asked for our order! When I went up to the bar to order my groups second round of drinks, a non complicated order, we were told "this isn't a shot bar", and the waitress (the only female working), walked away from me and I wasn't able to place an order. I wasn't aware a two ingredient shot (buttery nipple), was complicated. If so I highly recommend a more in depth training to better serve your paying customers. As a result my party of 7 left and the Brass Tap and lost out on more orders, and our business going forward. I highly recommend speaking to the staff about a better way to talk to the customers going forward, as that was not acceptable. read more

Not bad but it would be nice to see more on the menu. My Pinot Grigio tasted sweet and I'm used to a dry Pinot Grigio.

The Brass Tap is awesome! Not only is their beer & wine list longer than you could hope for but the staff is great! There is this one waitress who's hair is always clipped up in this funky way & she seems to know everything there is to know about which ever beer we asked about. Always smiling, always bubbly...she rocks. I wish I remembered her name! The building has a cool back story. It started as a pharmacy in the 1800's I believe & it changed a lot since then but it is said to haunted. Spooky. It also has the original iron stamped ceiling. So awesome. read more

Went here today for the first time in honor of my 21st, yay! I know next nothing about beer except for that I like it and it tastes good, so I was a little bit overwhelmed upon entry. The bartenders were great about it though, and let me sample a few when I mentioned that I don't particularly care for dark beer and wanted to try something good. It's a bit of a drive if you don't actually live in Round Rock, but well worth it. I'd take this over some crowded Austin dive any day. read more

Had a quick response to my review which I was very pleased with, and ended up going back the following night after work. Had a great experience, and was able to take advantage of a promotion that was advertised. Great options as always for beer and was able to try some new ones I never had before. Pleasantly surprised to hear of an expanded menu as well! This will be a go to afterwork spot for my co-workers and I. Also forgot to add that they have a nice cigar selection as well that you can take advantage of and smoke outdoors on the patio. Huge selection of craft brews. We came on NYE to toast the new year. We toasted the new year with a bunch of beer-loving strangers, some of whom were regulars. For sure will bring friends who prefer to stay north rather than venture into downtown Austin for brews. You can't beat it for selection and it's a nice alternative to Rainey Street for the Pflugerville and Round Rock crowd not wanting to venture into downtown Austin. Great job, Round Rock, for attracting this type of business and for supporting it. Very good step in the right direction. read more
