I went here for the first time for a drag trivia night. The hostess was great, very entertaining, and the crowd was fun. Trivia questions were interesting; I haven't done one on pen and paper before. I had a couple pints of cider; always happy to have the option since I'm not a beer drinker. There are food trucks outside if you're hungry. My friend said the food was really good. This space is your typical awesome whole in the wall bar that's been serving beer and drinks for years! Super chill vibe, you can actually bring your kids on Sundays it's all ages. I was lucky enough to be allowed to have my older kids (20 & 13) celebrate my birthday here last weekend. We reserved a table up front and bought tickets to see some cover bands perform for Metal Night! (Foo Shot, Crazy Train and Damage LLC) bands were sick! Will definitely be a "local" here from now on! What a unique hole in the wall with super reasonable prices! I was here for a cancer benefit and the staff was super helpful and the bartending staff was absolutely friendly. I really cannot wait to try the Jamaican food truck out in the back and I was surprised that there were two volleyball nets and four full teams out there on a chilly Sunday afternoon! I came here for a friend's memorial in the afternoon into evening. it's a fun little dive bar with a lot of places to sit away from the stage as well as a nice sized dance floor with a big stage for the live bands. I was expecting to be able to order food but didn't see anyone eating or smell food and no menu. So it wasn't until after the fact that I found out there is a food truck out back that rents the space. Ugh now I know! They do have an extensive bar and lots of selections for whatever you want. We came on a Saturday and we showed up with a 2 year old. They turned our friends away because of the 2 year old. We also had to pay a $15 cover charge. We went to go play volleyball and 20 minutes later we saw a family come in with a toddler. Our friends arrived an hour later and they told us they were not charged a cover charge. It's honestly all over the place. Poor service for having special treatment when their rules are posted. Why would you turn away a child but let another one in? And why would you only charge some of us a cover charge? A bit disappointed. read more

This bar is terrific because it doesn't relegate itself to the basic "come in and have a drink" mold. With all of great themed events, you can come every week and have a hello hellova good time! I came for Drag Queen Bingo--and let me say, this is completely worth investigating! The banter between the drag queen and bar patrons can be hysterical, and there are fun prizes to win.  The bar staff is great too! I strongly suggest checking out Hanover's some evening! read more

My friend and I went specifically to watch a cover band. The posters at the bar said an earlier time (2 hours) than what the band indicated on there website. This place needs to do what's right and advertise the correct time. They had a couple of food trucks in the back and volleyball tournaments were going on Friday night. The guy bartender seemed annoyed while serving but the female bartenders were so nice. The ambiance was typical bar environment and nothing special. read more

I work in the area on Wednesdays and have come here for a night cap on several Wednesday nights now. I like the relaxed vibe and the space, but most of all like that the bartenders are friendly, awesome, great at mixing drinks, and always down to make anything. There is no cover or live music on Wednesdays, but usually some good music playin and often even a random couple or two enjoying a little dancing. Oh and Western Whisky Wednesdays! $5 for a few different options is great. Only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is we tried to go one recent Wednesday around 10pm. They were randomly closed early because apparently business had been slow that night. We were meeting like 10 people there, so it was a bit of a last minute shuffle to figure out somewhere else we could go nearby (that would allow food, like Hanovers does). read more

Stopped by to see the War Daddies perform. They were awesome. The bar itself is pretty nice. It was large and had a couple of larger rooms in the rear. I had a couple of brewskis. The prices were reasonable and in line of what you may pay at other bar. We didnt eat but the beer and the service was terrific. I think you might enjoy the bar so give it a try. Now that I've experienced all that Hanovers in Pflugerville has to offer I can honestly say I had a really good time each time I went to Hanovers and for sure I would give Hanovers a strong 3 1/2 stars. This review isn't quite a 5 star review because the mixed drinks at Hanovers are always weak & with no drink specials this means I'm paying full price for a mixed drink that does not make me feel a lil bit prettier..no bueno! But that's an easy fix..next time I'll stick to ordering something bottled & I do have to say on my most recent visit to Hanovers they were selling Jell-O shots for $1..again, the shots tasted really yummy but could have used a wee bit more alcohol. My wife, and neighbors came here to see LC Rocks, I was amazed at the $8 cover charge, but I like LC Rocks so it was worth it to me. The drinks and Jello Shots were cool. One thing about the cover charge is they had their tablet ready for those of us who don't carry cash on hand anymore. That was a plus in my book. I cam here a while back and it reeked cigarette smoke during the day with no people inside much. I was amazed at how clean bar smelt when I walked in this time. They cleaned up the air quality in this place big time for those who remember that stench smoke smell. The staff was very friendly and very watchful. They had a waitress picking up all the empty glasses like clock work. Very cool and I am sure for safety reasons. Great live music for sure. One positive, was the bartender was able to catch a mistake they made with my tap and another person with the same name as mine. I was like holy crap I am shocked someone had the same name as me. We've lived in Pflugerville for over 2 years now and this is our first time visiting Hanovers -- a pleasant surprise. Very spacious seating indoors and out, easy to social distance. Drinks are cheap, drinks are strong, you can't go wrong. The bartender was very welcoming and friendly. Definitely try their special Bahn mi sandwiches with pho broth dipping sauce. Great post-drink meal to soak up the alcoholic juices. I'm hoping the sandwiches become a permanent option on their menu. It's earned a spot on my list of cravings. My boyfriend and I came during emo Karaoke night for the first time and my boyfriend's drivers license was expired at the time, mind you he is 25. The woman behind the bar that has reddish brown hair accepted the drivers license and then served us repeatedly throughout the night. Tonight was our second time coming, my boyfriend ordered a drink and they did NOT verify his ID at first his transaction. Later on his mother ordered a drink THEN the same women came to our table and ID is all. I had mine, my boyfriend had his expired DL, his mother's was also expired. Mind you when his mother asked for a drink they did NOT verify her Drivers License as well. The woman even smiled and said she didn't need it. But when she found out my boyfriends Drivers license was expired the took his drink off our table and confiscated it and denied service. If you're going to have rules, make sure you follow them with each Parton. Don't pick and choose who and who isn't of age or able to drink. Thankfully our last time coming, we'll be sure to let our friends know as well We also have about 6 different people who are witnesses to my boyfriend being served with an expired drivers license the night of emo night. His brother also has alcohol drinks without even being verified as well. read more

There's a cool outdoor patio away from the bar area. They often have music events with live music, drag bingo, hair band cover bands. You name it.. they have it at some point... Will no longer require masks as of March 10th according to the bartender. Sad. I was standing in line for Bahadi's chicken, which by the way is amazing. There were two guys in front of me with no masks. I have been here on many occasions to see many different bands and repeatedly come back to see my favorites. It has kind of a divey feel, without being trashy. There are volleyball courts in the outside back section along with BBQ. I've heard the BBQ is good. I can't really comment on that personally because I don't eat BBQ, but others have said it's good. Drinks are reasonably priced and it's been a good place to bring or meet a group of friends. Service is ok. No cover charge before 8pm. Just good folks. Good atmosphere. Nice bartenders. Managers have been accommodating, like when I asked if I could raise money for foster kids Easter baskets. I've been going here regularly for about 4 years. I play volleyball, I buy a few drinks, occasionally order food. I really have not had a thing to complain about. I'm impressed with the efforts they've made during the pandemic: groceries, free handmade masks, food, community outreach, etc. They have and are making the effort to support their staff and help the community. read more

Hanovers is my home away from home. So many of my greatest memories have happened in this bar. It's a community...a family...and the only place I feel like I can just come as I am. Ever since the first time I stepped into Hanovers back in 2014, I felt at home. After the first visit, I was pleasantly surprised when I came back the second time and the whole bar staff remembered me and my name! It is one of my most favorite live music venues, and I have so many wonderful memories at this bar! It's where I met my husband, some of my best friends, and lyrics from my favorite Austin bands have touched my soul. I've hosted two shows at this wonderful venue, the staff is nothing but helpful, fun, and so sweet. This was a very interesting place.....I haven't been to a bar with a smoking room in years! From the outside, I did not expect this place to be as large as it was. The inside is very roomy. They also have a large outdoor area with a sand volleyball set up for more outdoor fun. The BBQ was just eh, but the atmosphere made up for it. The staff was friendly and the drinks were great. Just ordered groceries and drinks from Hanovers. It's a big help in this strange time. It's awesome to be able to fill in between H-E-B pick up orders and get same-day grilling groceries and drinks for a sense of normalcy. I ordered on Facebook DM, bc I find that easier for a list situation. They call before they dispatch someone for your CC information (so you don't have to blast it over DM). The person I DMed was quick and informative. Thank you! Before the 'Rona, we came to this dive bar for good drinks, friendly service and outdoor seating. Pflugerville, you continue to disappoint me. We came to Hanover's on a Sunday afternoon to hangout. There were a lot of people playing volleyball and that might have effected the staff, but I've never paid more or been more unhappy with a Sunday afternoon drinking trip. Our Miller Lite tallboys were $5 a piece and I only got them after pulling teeth with the bartender about if I could find a Sunday deal. The bartender motioned to the entire bar and said I could get whatever I wanted, while asking if I had never been to a bar before. I said I had, but normally expected the staff to be a little better helping find something to drink. The atmosphere was good and we should have had a good time, but high prices and mean service don't mix for our Sunday funday. When we asked about the bucket and were told $27 we bounced We also had some BBQ. Wasn't the best, but the BBQ guys were nice enough and it wasn't real expensive. Probably wouldn't eat there again, but at least they were nice. read more

Located in downtown Pflugerville, the downtown area looks like the little old town it used to be. This building has a lot of history, since originally this saloon was built over 100 years ago. I spent the majority of my later childhood and all my teen years living in Pflugerville, and then some after college. And of course I end up coming back when I'm up north. You see, Pville may boast over 50,000 people now but there aren't a lot of bars to choose from still. Just 3 that I'm aware of. And Hanover's is the best it gets here, and its not a bad place local bar/hangout if you're in the neighborhood. The crowd is diverse (or getting more to be) and definitely has some devoted, local clients. Live music every Weds, Fri & Saturday with a measly $5-$10 cover is nothing to complain about. I've seen friends of mine ( locals) play shows here as well as "bigger" local bands like Vallejo. Always a blast. Its spacious along with a huge outside patio that is used for shows with volleyball courts. Karaoke Mon, Tues & Thurs for those brave souls, as well as poker nights on Sundays. Offering pool tables, horse shoe pits and darts there are plenty of things to choose from. But be aware this is not Austin and smoking is not banned in Pflugerville. They also claim to be pet friendly, but I wouldn't bring my dog to a bar. Within walking distance to the other 2 bars in downtown Pville. You've got options between dive bars. And unlike downtown Austin, parking isn't an issue here. read more

We visited this place after the parade on Dec 1st. Food Quality: Abysmal - Literally the worst BBQ I have ever eaten. The food was almost not editable. The brisket smelled like vinegar and tuna. We sadly and comically passed the food around to smell because our beef smelled like fish. My wife and I officially ranked it 3rd worst quality food we have ever eaten behind Thomas Super Buffet and the Golden Coral on Parmer. A random patron heard my friends were from Chicago and apologized to them and told them this was NOT Texas BBQ. The Potato salad tasted like pure vinegar and the macaroni was complete slop. We all checked in with each other the next few days as were were all concerned about food poisoning. Luckily it only took 1-2 bites to figure out we weren't going to eat the food. Service: Mean - The guests around me kept getting the wrong plates. When each guest let the cooks know the meal was incorrect (including myself), the older cooks just became jerks. It got worse as time went by. They yelled at the guy taking orders all night and it wasn't his fault. We are literally 3 feet from all the fighting and can see exactly what going on. Amenities: The outside courts are great for kids, I'm sure the bar is fine. How can you screw up beer. Conclusion: This BBQ was so bad we can only laugh about it now and we will never go there again. I am just curious to how this place is open at an establish food joint. I gave these guys a 25% tip because you pay upfront and the cooks surely didn't deserve it. I just hope some of it went to the guy taking orders who had to put up with their crap. read more

On the dive bar scale this bar rates about a 6, with 10 being the most dive-ish. Wood floor, old tables, stools with holes in the vinyl upholstered tops, pool tables and a juke box made the "dive theme" work. Plus bartenders who serve the loud drunks before those who wait patiently for their attention. Jerks. We were here last night to hear a friend, Kevin Havron and his talented young sidekick Earl, who's last name I never got. Kevin is a great guitarist and song writer and Earl is multi-talented as well, singing, strumming and playing the drums for the headliner band. We enjoyed meeting all the Pflugerville throng that hangs with these guys. Kevin plays many original tunes and it was apparent the two crowd favorites are"Longhorn Orange" and "Pflugerville". Both are audience participation and the more beer you drink, the more you are allowed to participate. A big plus--Hanover's serves my favorite pear hard cider and they have a large selection of beer--more than 15 varieties on tap which makes Hubby happy. The one BIG downer is that Pflugerville has not banned indoor smoking. Ugh. read more

We took some family to this bar for drinks and dinner last week. We went about 6 months ago when we first looked at homes in town. The food was really good back then. We wanted to have our daughter and husband find a good play to hang out in Their new community. It appears like the menu had changed and they only had sandwiches. Last time they had meat plates which we really liked. We all thought the sides were over spicy even though I grew up in NOLA. This food was hot and not spicy over flavorful. I really did not like my brisket sandwich because the bun disintegrated on the first bite. We will probably give them another try and hope for the best. read more

Hanny's is cool local bar in Pflugerville... It does take a little getting used too but it grows on ya. Seems more folks around during warmer months due to the outdoor volleyball tournaments, which is cool to watch while chuggin' brews. They have a pretty good variety of beer. Inside is kind of dark and lots of wood everywhere. 2 pool tables and of course the stage. Have seen several decent bands there who i dont really know...but they were good. If you've never been here you'll think 4 stars is too high but hey, gotta prop my local bar. Best thing about Hanny's... I can walk home if i need to. Also...I often call this bar Hanovers on the way in and Hangovers on the way home. read more
