Let's start with the charm. It's a beautiful facility with a large, old fashioned parlor full of antique furniture and a hillside view of Ilwaco. The rooms range from a bit small to generous, each has a bathroom and comfortable beds. Downstairs is a large kitchen and dining area, with a refrigerator and everything you could need to make a meal. There are also some basic foodstuffs as well as chocolates and a bottle of red wine for the guests. The proprietors are enthusiastic and very helpful. They were evern fine with me playing my guitar in the former chapel space! We spent years coming to the Long Beach penninsula and have stayed at many places. No, this is not a bed and breakfast, but very resonable and perfect for anyone who wants to bring their own food and cook it up in a very nice facility. This is now our first choice. Apart from that, the staff is very nice and the location is great if you are planning a beach vacation in Long Beach. The accommodations are nice with a beach house motif, spacious living room for relaxing outside of your room, and it is generally clean. The room and bathroom are a bit small, but comfortable. Also note that guests must check in by a certain time, which was very inconvenient for me but I made it work. If you're planning on arriving late, you might want to reconsider. read more

In the heart of the old fishing village of Ilwaco, this is a real oasis. Nearly everything in this historic building has upgraded and modernized. The rooms, while not large, have modern clean bathrooms. The real treat is the expansive parlor, complete with some goodies. Downstairs is a full breakfast and kitchen area. While they don't serve a full breakfast, it's easy to snack on what is provided and you can walk down the street and pickup anything you might want to prepare in the kitchen. I brought an acoustic guitar and had the owners full blessing to play in the attached chapel area with wonderful acoustics. We enjoyed just reading in the parlor, and nothing on the long beach peninsula is very far away. The owners were friendly and gracious and we will be back! read more

I stayed here one evening while having some plumbing done on my house in early May. I love, love, love this place! Leanne and her family were amazing, helpful and kind. My room was small, but I knew this when I booked it. It was really cute and comfortable. The price was very reasonable. It was immaculate and well appointed. Me and my husband stayed there for one night. Really nice place, clean and interesting looking building inside and out. Friendly owners and adorable dog. I normally don't sleep well outside home, but their bed was very comfortable, so I got a good night rest. The breakfast was delicious, too. They had waffles, a lot of berries, yogurt, cereal, boiled eggs, bagels, meats, cheese and beverages. We brought a bottle of alcoholic beverage (sparkling wine) with us since it was my birthday, the owners gladly put it into their fridge and we had no issues with that. read more

While on our honeymoon, the wife and I travelled around Oregon and Washington and our travels lead us to this place, Ilwaco WA. In that place, we decided to priceline (search) a hotel, and so we found a great deal for a little place called "Inn at Harbour Village" and we very instantly intrigued when it turned out to be an old church that had been converted into a community center, then renovated and converted into a Bed and Breakfast. The rooms are fun, and unique decor makes this a place to remember. The owners are very friendly, and the breakfast was delicious and the company even better. " Old Historic Bed and Breakfast with great Artifacts " My wife and I visited the Inn At Harbour Village, Bed and Breakfast in Ilwaco, Washington two weeks ago. We were so pleased with the Inn. The entire old historic building is loaded with historic Furniture and Artifacts which makes the Harbour Village feel like you are spending the night in a Museum. The Inn used to be an old church and still has the original bench seating. The Inn at Harbour Village now hosts Weddings, Plays, and Lectures in the old church. The Breakfast in the morning was Awesome, with home made waffles and other top notch food. Rooms are nice but very small. Website has many false truths. There are no free appetizers and wine. There is no view of anything. There was hair in the bathroom. We paid $149 a night for a queen room that was a 10x10 room with a bathroom( door didn't shut). Would have put 1-Star had the owner not been amazing. He totally understood our complaints have is our money back and allowed us to check out early. read more

We stayed at this inn and the bed broke from underneath us. I was just getting out of bed and it broke. We alerted the owners. They came in and moved the mattress to the floor for us to sleep on. The next morning we had a cold deli style breakfast provided by them. No breakfast really provided by so-called bed and breakfast. We asked the owner what he could do about the bed collapsing. We could have been hurt. He yelled at us that he should charge us for the bed! He said we were rough housing. However, my friend and I were knitting and hand sewing. We left the room immaculate, but he tried to say we left it "nasty". Such a rude lie. We left as quickly as possible as we were very upset. We made a review on another booking site. They immediately retaliated by charging me $200 to my card supposedly for the bed. I fought that charge and won my money back. However, this was a bad experience that really put a damper on the rest of our trip. I do not recommend this place at all! read more

Unfriendly people running a sub par establishment. We had booked two rooms at about $160 each. I showed up with an unopened bottle of bourbon I had gotten for my birthday that day, so I brought it into the hotel from the trunk of my car. I frequently bring an unopened bottle of wine to a hotel with me. The owner came into the lobby after we had already received our keys, looked at the bottle and said, "we aren't that kind of place and you need to leave." I have never felt more instantly judged. I travel all around the world for my job and this is the first time I've been treated so horribly by a hotel for doing absolutely nothing other than failing to "hide" my unopened bottle of liquor. This is a cute bed and breakfast located in Ilwaco, Wa. It is a converted church, which makes it more unique. I liked the quaint seashore country chic. The main living space is cozy and quiet. I reserved a room with a view. I expected a bit better view. It was through the tree and power lines. Oh well... There are complimentary toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, & soap, but no lotion. Hopefully they'll add this in the future. The parents of the manager of the inn were super friendly and told us to make ourselves at home. They also chatted about the various bear encounters they've had. I wish the breakfast was a bit more robust. The waffles were tasty. However, I wanted maybe an egg dish like a quiche or a baked egg dish. There were boiled eggs, but I wanted something warm. The coffee was great & there was plentiful fruit options. read more

Our 2nd visit and it was better than the first. Kevin and Leann, the owners, are excellent hosts. Provide great information on things to do and areas to explore, the beach, books stores, coffee shops, etc. Each room has its' own full private bath. the rooms are very tastefully decorated. The dining area is very clean and the breakfast is enough to keep you going until you stop for lunch while you explore the area. This is a very nice and well maintained BNB in the SW corner of the state of Washington. The Lewis and Clark museum is a must see as are several light houses. Long Beach, Washington is a few miles to the north and is great for kite flying. Astoria, Oregon is a short drive away across the Columbia River. Check out their website to see the various amenities. This place is great. While you're going into an old building, it's a great old building. Lots of attention to the details and a great way to meet the town. The staff is super sweet and attentive - true kind hearted hosts with lots of tips for the town. The breakfast was an extended continental with all of the staples and a few more. Good coffee. The innkeepers here will treat you like family. Like the family that includes a grumpy uncle who eats all your food and falls asleep snoring in your favorite chair. It's obvious from the moment you arrive they are just tolerating your intrusion on their home. If you are there with a group expect them to horn in on your activities and plop down in the middle of the common room among your friends. After all, it's their living room, and you're just imposing. When your group is eating in the dining room expect them to come busting through the middle of it with their shaggy sheep dog to take him for his potty break. No, he doesn't respect boundaries, they let him romp through it all, if you're allergic, tough. There are so many other ways to exit their private quarters to take him out. But, why bother? You're the intruder after all. Add to that the joy of dirty, torn carpeting (covered over with clear packing tape to reduce the tripping hazard), grime on the stair rails, showers that don't work, toilets that don't flush, lamps that fall apart when you touch them, and non-working ceiling lights, and no linen service. Need a clean towel, turn in your dirty one and get another from the tub we bought at Home Depot. If there was a local YMCA you would be better off there. read more

The new owners are absolutely awful and I would NEVER promote or stay at this establishment. After working with the old owner who was kind, gracious, generous, lovely, and proud of his establishment I have never been so disappointed with new management. We have two gift certificates for two nights each and the new owners REFUSE to honor these. THEIR NAME IS ON THE CONTRACT. If I had a new business I would welcome anyone with kind, open arms in order to grow word of mouth. Apparently these new owners are not concerned with their reputation. We have had a retreat here for the past 7 years. New owners took over 3 years ago. Rooms were nicely redone, but the rest of the 3 story Inn is still sadly in need of repair. Carpet is old and worn. Stair carpet had large holes and were a trip hazard. The owners solution was to put packing tape on tears which now causes it to be quite slippery. Guest toilet upstairs is broken, and shower hasn't worked on top level in a few years. Kitchen faucet has been ready to fall off for 2 years. Leather furniture in lobby is terribly worn. Exterior and landscape no longer holds its charm. It is such an attractive location and was a great venue but now shows little pride of ownership. read more

Way back or March 27th, I knew that I wanted to take my wife out of town for a nice overnight getaway. I chose Long Beach because she had never been and I remember having a great time there while visiting my grandma when I was young. I went onto the Long Beach official website and from there, I started searching for their tourism business partners. Under lodging, I found three different recommended places and after reviewing all three, I decided on The Inn at Harbour Village. I made my reservation that day and I claimed the Captain's Suite for Saturday April 4th. After I proudly announced to my wife the itinerary of my planned trip, she reminded me that we could not go away on that day because the next day April 5th was Easter and we had plans to be with family for Easter. I immediately called The Inn at Harbour Village and on the other end of the phone was a nice lady who totally understood my dilemma and promptly cancelled my reservation with no fee. After that, I immediately jumped back onto their website http://innatharbourvillage.com/ and was planning on snatching up the Captain's Suite the very next Saturday April 11th but it was already booked. It was also booked for the 18th but low and behold, it was available for April 25th. This was great because it was only 4 days before my wife's birthday so now I would turn this into a birthday get away for her. We left our house early yesterday so that we could stop and have brunch and then take our time driving down from Federal Way to Ilwaco. We took in the scenery, we stopped at a light house and took a short hike and just took it easy. Partly for the recreation of it all and partly because check in wasn't until 4:00pm. We arrived at The Inn at Harbour Village at about 3:20pm. This place is gorgeous! I'll post pics. You enter into a small foyer and just past the front desk is the parlor. Towards the rear of the parlor was a full size church complete with pews and a large stage. The rooms are all quaint and homey and a few actually made us feel like we were just staying with friends or family in their spare room but boy were we excited to get that Captain's Suite! After a short wait, the manager came out and greeted us. Rick, was a very nice guy but as he looked at the list of people who were suppose to be checking in, our name was not on the list. Not only was our name not on the list, but the Captain's Suite was already occupied and had been booked for the entire weekend from Thursday night through Monday morning. This Inn is located just a few miles away from Cape Disappointment and now I know why. Rick explained to me that he had just recently been assigned to manage this property and that the woman who worked there back on March 27th when I made my initial reservation conveniently no longer worked there. He did apologize and he offered us our choice of any of the other available rooms. He gave us a tour around and showed us the rooms but we were too disappointed I think to really settle for less. I didn't completely rule it out however but we said that we would go and see what our other options were and that maybe we would return. We didn't. We found another place in Long Beach and since Rick had made no mention of a possible discount for our troubles, I opted to take the less expensive room at the other establishment. If you do make a reservation at The Inn at Harbour Village, make absolutely sure that you get a confirmation from the staff and even then, I'm not sure they won't bump you. Our theory is that because I only reserved the room for 1 night, they bumped us so that they could secure the reservation for the whole weekend from the other party. Not that anyone would ever admit to this but that is what I think happened. The place like I said is amazing. The rooms are small but cozy. The whole place has a nice mansion in the Hamptons feel to it and they do offer some cool extras like a Wine social in the parlor in the evenings and complimentary breakfast each morning. It's a great space to hold an event like a wedding or retreat or reunion etc... I just wish we would have had a better experience with them. read more

What a treasure to find this bed and breakfast!! Beautifully remodeled historic building in the port town of Ilwaco. There is easy access to downtown Long Beach, and it's just 15 minutes across the bridge from Astoria, OR. The innkeepers are so warm and welcoming, they make you feel like you're truly "at home" in their home. The accommodations are immaculate, with very comfortable beds!! There was warm tea waiting each afternoon if it was cold outside; homemade cookies, and wine too;). In addition, the innkeepers have dozens of books about the surrounding area, the history and historic sites around the region. They are knowledgeable and most helpful. read more

This inn has seen better days. We had had a retreat here for 7 years consecutively. It started out as a nice little retreat inn that was a pleasure to look at as well as peaceful and charming to stay. It has lost its charm. New owners took over about three years ago and the place has steadily went downhill since. This is a historic building. The rooms got a little facelift like new sheets etc but, It is obvious they have put no money or labor back into the inn and it's starting to really show. They treat you as if you are intruding on their personal space. You always get the feeling like you are a relative they begrudgingly host in their home and you will quickly wear out your welcome, not like a paying guest. The upstairs shower has been leaking and unusable for two years. The kitchen sink faucet has been falling off for three years. The ovens are broken and may or may not work for you. The rugs are worn and torn. The solution is to put clear packing tape over them and tell you not to slip. You are never sure what will break while you are there and if it does they will be sure it's your fault. This is an old historic inn and upkeep and repairs are ignored. Please don't bring them up is the attitude. If you do bring them up be prepared for an excuse. There will be a reason why it cannot be fixed and why you are just rude for expecting it to be. You will not get what you paid for here. The lights don't work, the landscaping is nonexistent these days, if you want towels get them yourself out of the yellow and black tote from Home Depot they plopped in front of the desk, after you bring us your dirty ones. Be prepared for the innkeepers to join your activities uninvited any time they feel like it. After all you are invading their space. Be prepare for their smelly sheep dog to come running through your activity and knock things over or come running into the dining room while you are trying to eat. They have their own entrance and yard but they can't resist letting him interrupt what's going on with you because YOU are the intruder here. Wet smelly dog is not an appetizing breakfast or dinner aroma. The handrails are covered in gunk, the stairs are treacherous in the front, inside due to carpet issues and especially the back outside stairs which are wood and badly in need of repair. The windows in your room will not stay open unless you prop something under them like a book etc. The pews in the church are gone, and the service is non existent. read more

My husband and I spent our second wedding anniversary at the Inn at Harbour Village. What a beautiful and unique setting. Kevin the Innkeeper is really great. He upgraded our room after getting my note about it being our anniversary. If/when we return, I'll specifically request room #6 (in the back with the original bathroom and claw foot tub.) The bathroom and the living area both had window seats. I LOVED the shabby chic décor and wanted to take the bed home with me. SO COMFORTABLE. I'd give this place a six stars if I could. The staff, Scott, was incredibly helpful when we checked in and out. The rooms, while yes, they are a bit small, are super cozy and very clean. When we went to go clamming, another family there helped us get to a good spot at Long Beach. When we came back, Scott and that family taught us how to clean and carve them, and they even helped us cook a pan of them. Next time I want to go clamming, I'll definitely come back here. read more
