My breakfast this morning was amazing! I got the Spartan Benedict (I think it was called) it was a Greek version of a Benedict on pita bread. It was delicious! It had feta cheese, sautéed onions and mushrooms and two fat turkey patties. I was so pleased. I absolutely love Benedict's and this one scored for me! Also not the mention the service was prompt. This is the first restaurant that has never acknowledged me baby. What I mean by acknowledge I don't mean the ," Aw, how cute!" The tone she used was that of a parent trying to give her children turns and trying to calm them down. She was rude and disrespectful. I don't know her name but she was as tall as a tree and wore vibrant orange hair (I didn't say red because most people would think I'm referring to fire truck red) after my boyfriend told her what he wanted she looked back at me and said in a voice as if I couldn't understand English, "You waaaant creamers?" Yes but I would also like you to leave and never come back. She came back with a HUGE bowl of creamers. That was the only thing I enjoyed about this breakfast. A cook from the back served me my coffee. Apparently that job might have been to difficult for my tall waitress. I ordered the Denver "skillet" and my boyfriend ordered the corned beef hash. I was so disappointed. The Denver Skillet wasn't served with a skillet and was obviously made on a flat top. To make it worse it had no flavor and no amount of salsa or salt could save it. What was even more disappointing is they are SUPPOSED to serve you with two slices of bread that they cut up in 4. My boyfriend was only given 1 1/2 slices served in 3. Wow. Can't even give my boyfriend the entire meal he is paying for. I understand it's half a slice of toast but he's still paying for it. Anyways this place is awful and won't be coming again. read more

After a very nice walk around Alpine , we decided to search for a nice family style breakfast spot. All of the "popular" eateries were packed or had long waiting lines, so we decided to come back into the city. On our way back, we ran across The Breakfast House, just off Highway 8 We were immediately seated. Our waiter, Tony came right over and took our beverage orders. After mulling over the menu and that was extremely hard to do because there were so many things that looked delicious, we wanted to try them all!! So we made a promise to just come back and keep trying until we eat them all! I finally decided on the Huevos Rancheros and I don't like the sauce on the plates, so I asked for it on the side and it was done perfectly!!!! My friend ordered the Machaca breakfast omelet and like all the other dishes that we saw, the portions were nice and healthy and hot!! Tony came back often to check on us and also to replenish our water and coffee. the staff took all the precautions to guarantee a safe & healthy experience and were very busy & engaging with all of the customers. A couple days ago I met a friend at The Breakfast House for lunch. She had been before, but I hadn't. It was a very good experience from start to finish. When we got there, the hostess seated us right away. We chose to sit outside since it was a little cooler than it has been lately - the freeway noise is a tad bothersome but it was probably more quiet than sitting inside. Our server was Shawna. She was one of those servers who came often enough to be helpful and attentive but never hovered... perfect! I had a turkey & gouda sandwich w/a side of fruit. The bread was fresh, the turkey was excellent, and the produce was all fresh as well. We stayed quite awhile, no problem with that. My meal was only $8.95, a great deal in my opinion. Good food terrible service. Totally ignored after food was served by my server, Heather. Never saw her again even after she said she would check back to see if everything was okay, until she brought my check and this was more than 10 minutes after I had finished my meal. Then she didn't come back after another 10 minutes to pick up the money for the meal. I finally asked a passing server to give the check to Heather so I could leave after getting my change. Again nothing until she walked by me and I called her back. She didn't have the bill but recalled that it was $15.30, gave me $5.00 back and she would take the $.30 out of her pocket. I went to The Breakfast House for my very first time to surprise my Son and his girlfriend for her birthday. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice and comfy the place made me feel. After the surprise I ordered a pretty simple standard breakfast with a couple of eggs, sausage, fried potatoes and toast because my son and his gf were already eating. I paid for all 3 breakfasts and was expecting to wait a quite a while for my breakfast to be prepared. I'm just a few minutes my breakfast was ready and it was delicious. The server knew my son and Richard and his gf Rachel very well because they are regulars. If I lived closer, I would be a regular too. Go make our toast with their bare hands!!!! I went today and ordered to go, the lady took my payment via cash register then headed straight over to make the toast with her bare hands. UGH! I didn't say anything, it sucks to have to do that. Most of the greeters are friendly and when you sit down the busers are quick to take you drink order. Servers are usually slow to take your order so don't rush to make your menu selection... might as well take your time to read the many different menu options. That being said they have a fairly large menu with many breakfast and lunch options. Everything I've had here is delicious. They also serve delicious fresh brewed ice tea (I don't drink soda or fountain iced tea so this is a big deal to me)! Portions are decent and the prices are reasonable. We understand that restaurants are under staff, people call out...we get it. It doesn't NOT mean your server should take it out on the customer. Either the server is racist or just a big B!!
