Tried this waterfront gem In Greenwood Lake and it did not disappoint! Seating options here are endless- You can choose to sit outside by the water, inside by the water or upstairs by the water; you can even choose to pull up by boat! No matter where you sit, you get a great view of the water. Everyone on the staff including the gentleman manning the parking lot and moonlighting as the piano player- were nothing short of hospitable and treated you almost like family. I wasn't as hungry but had to try something, I went with the fried oysters and coconut shrimp, both were delicious and perfect for the appetizer I was looking for. Such a great dinner with a great view of the lake. They have a piano bar and a great outside dining patio. Our server Tracy was the best. She was fast, funny, attentive and just a delight. we came on a chilly May Day and had a great seat with a gorgeous view! Fold selections were good and prices were comparable with other places. The service was really what set it apart. our waitress was kind and attentive but not over attentive. We loved starting off the meal with the bagel chips and ending it with a chocolate chip cookie. The spicy slaw is slathered with mayo, way over the top. Glad I got it on the side. Bun was good. Fries are very good, thin and crispy. Ordered the Tyroleon Schnitzel Dinner but they brought out the Tyroleon Sub. We didn't want to make them throw out the meal so we kept it. The veal was bone dry!!! My onion soup was really good as was the burger. There were four in our party the only real complaint was that there was too much artichoke in the orzo. The service was non-existent. No one came to take our drink order. Then the waitress came to take our order. No menus. We had to ask for utensils. She brought us utensils but no napkins. Yelp does it again! Looked for an outdoor dining area I wasn't familiar with and yelp helped! We ordered, kids chicken tender, crab cake sandwich, sausages and peppers sandwich, meatball sandwich, French onion soup, mozzarella sticks and drinks. Kids tenders came with a Mott's juice box. My Pinot was good. All of the food was seasoned well and portioned just right. Kids ended up taking half of their food home. Point is...... Located on the water. Lovely scenery. Outdoor dining. I have not been here since the owners renamed the place from Tortuga to The Breezy. The inside looks somewhat the same and is ok. We ate outside where there is a great spectacular view of the lake. That has always been a huge plus about this place. We were seated fairly quickly outside where we wanted to be. The waitress came over and took our orders promptly. I ordered the "baby back ribs" with honey bbq sauce. I noticed some of the entrees do not tell you on the menu what sides come with the ribs. The waitress had to find out so I was told potato wedges. That was fine so I ordered an extra side of roasted brussel sprouts. Ten minutes later I was told they were out of sprouts, no problem so I ordered the roasted vegetables. My companion ordered the weiner shnitzel with potatoes and cucumber salad. We were given bagel chips instead of bread. Really? That seems extremely lazy in my opinion. Might as well give us potato chips. I don't need hot bread but bread with olive oil and garlic doesn't seem unreasonable. Or a very small portion of roasted vegetables is fine with me. Our orders came and my Baby back ribs were actually St. Louis ribs. The ribs were fall off the bone and good but they were not the baby back cut of ribs I know of. I do know very very well what every cut of ribs are. Consider this---when they were delivered on my plate they were cut into individual 1 bone ribs and were much fattier. Baby back ribs come in a rack, 1/2 or full. They substituted the roasted veggies instead of making it an extra part of my meal. Not really a big deal and they did not charge me for an extra side. My companion ordered a rum and coke with cherries in it. The bartender poured cherry juice in the drink making it much too sweet. When seated, the waitress gives your utensils in a wrapped up napkin. I found only a knife in mine and did not see the waitress in a long time. My companion did not think the weiner shnitzel was that good, not terrible just not that good. I think this place needs some tweaks but it could be a very good place to eat in the future. Here are my points to consider: 1. The menu should say St.Louis ribs instead of baby back. 2. The menu really should say what sides are included in the entree and the waitress should really know. 3. Get rid of the lazy bagel chips. Customers should receive better when eating here. 4. The waitress was not that bad just maybe needs a little more training. In somewhat their defense, we came to this place while the bar was very busy but there were only four tables occupied among the many empty tables. Maybe that contributed to the problems, I don't know. I really give this place 2.5 stars and rounded it up to three. The price point is way high for the quality of food you get. I will come back here because I want to support local establishments in the area and every place can have a bad day, but they really should consider some of my points above. Late lunch in August. Food was average bar food, service was very good. The view from the outdoor seating on a sunny day was the best part. My dining partner enjoyed their German beer and schnitzel. I saw some iffy reviews when this reopened as The Breezy. My experiences (4 now) have all been excellent! The food deliscious, the staff attentive, and frankly the outdoor dining right in the water us the best on Greenwood Lake. The inside dining and bar have been updated and are gorgeous. While I personally loved the old mainly German menu (and a few dishes do remain on the menu), there are now a truly wide range of extensive options- something for everyone! I've tried my old favorites and several of the more "American" standard offerings and all have been equally good. If it's your first time, or you've been heart ant to give back given a few recent changes in names and ownership, I'd do yourself a favor and give it a try. A Lakeside gem in any season. read more

The first place I ever dined in when I first visited Greenwood Lake. Pretty view, comfortable ambience, great burgers as well as entrees, I occasionally have some German specialties. I would never give this place a penny. Called on Saturday to make a reservation and inquired if they could make something for my husband who is a Vegan. To my surprise, the person I spoke with was not very helpful or even a bit interested in even trying to accomodate. Being in the restaurant business myself for many years, I have never come across such lack of customer service. Surely a simple plate of pasta with a vegie could be made,but the response was that they would be too busy to accomodate. This tells me that they probably use frozen food. When I first came to this place, years ago, I was really impressed with how beautiful it was. Truly a great ambiance, relaxed and on a lake. You can't ask for much more. I'd love to see a good veggie burger or at least one substantive vegetarian option on the menu. The food for vegetarians is okay. Options are quite limited. The waiters are young and seemed to have a bad attitude. The hostess/waiter who sat us said "uuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhh" for nearly a minute while scanning (empty) tables to seat us. It seemed a tremendous amount of effort for her to carry a highchair a few feet. I just grabbed it and set it down myself... so there's that. I was excited to come back to this restaurant since I haven't been here in years. It was a nice drive and a beautiful day so we decided to have lunch. The atmosphere here is nice with a view of the water. Too many bees buzzing around to throughly enjoy it though... First up we had some drinks. A black and tan for my husband and some German beer with raspberry syrup from the special menu for me..the black and tan was good but the German beer special was.. hmm.. yuck. It was sour and just tasted odd.. For lunch we shared the spinach salad and a rueben sandwich with a side of German potato salad. The spinach salad and sandwich were very good and the portion size adequate. If you're really hungry, you'll have to order an appetizer, maybe two cause they appeared small. The potato salad however at $3.75, was delicious but pricey. It was no more than 3 tablespoons in a small bowl! Shameful to charge that ridiculous amount for a taste... The place seems old and dated and the prices a bit high for what you get but overall a decent meal. However, next time I'm in the area, I would definitely try someplace else. read more
