We were a party of 8 for the Easter brunch this morning. I had no expectations of a great breakfast buffet because usually they are lacking. HOWEVER, I was pleasantly surprised!!! Interesting and looked promising... I had dinner as it is next door to the hotel i was staying at, which you can access from inside the hotel. I often look for hotels with a "restaurant on premises" when i am traveling so that i don't have to go back out for dinner. Service was slowwww even though i was practically the only one there. Everyone was starting to break down for the evening and kinda ignoring me. It was an hour to closing, so I ordered the pasta and broccoli to be safe. The next morning there was buffet breakfast set-up. It's a pretty big place with tables and booths and a big semi circle bar. They had the windows open to the street side and it was kinda chilly. There was a couple eating at a booth near me, and for breakfast I was the only customer. Breakfast food was kinda cold- i looked and saw that the sterno cans had gone out. "Well breakfast is almost over" was the response i got when i mentioned it to a server. Came here on a whim as it was suggested to me by Yelp. At the Double Tree hotel by Hilton in Mahwah between upstate NY and 20 min from the GWB (NYC). This place came as a sweet surprise!! Jason our server (a student at Ramapo college) was excellent this was his 3rd shift at this restaurant and he was so nice!! The place was very empty with just two other tables occupied when we arrived. The restaurant itself was very nice and updated had very nice seating and a nice bar. Would be a great place to rent out and throw a party. They have happy hour during the day on Saturday & Sundays and the prices were good. I ordered the chicken wings (6) very nice and crispy with just the right amount of buffalo sauce and truffle Parmesan fries (huge portion) and they were crunchy and delicious too, Meanwhile my husband had the Cheeseburger and French Fries lunch special and he enjoyed it very much. I also ordered two speciality drinks which were $10 each and didn't disappoint, I had two different ones and they were both delicious made from Santiago the bartender. They seem to have a lot of things going during the week... karaoke, open Mike night, comedians etc...We'd love to come back for a comedy night and see what the vibe is like because I'm sure there must be more people and things too look around at then when we went. I hope the place stays I hope Jason is still a waiter if and when I go back since he was so easy to talk to and you could tell a hard worker. Overall I give Booyah an A for food & service. My wife was excited to try this place out , so we went with a friend to give it a try. The vibe is nice and I loved the decor and the music was great. For the service, it leaves you wanting more. My wife and my friend had ordered a Apple Crisp (or something along those lines) Hot Toddy , the first time it came I saw ice so I thought maybe there is another drink on the menu with a similar name and it's served cold. However when we had inquired, our server promptly stated no it's not supposed to be cold. I was scratching my head as to why that is, so both my wife and friend walked for the actual beverage and they received an iced lukewarm Apple Crisp Hot Toddy. We waited for our food for about 45min and during the length of time twice we mentioned where is our food, the first time we were told something along the lines of "should be coming out soon, any second now". And while we waited I was looking around and noticed our server just casually chatting with the lady in the front who had seated us , not sure if she was the Floor manager (although she wasn't dressed like anyone in that position) or if she was just a greeter of sorts. No one came to say "sorry for the wait we have a banquet next door" , my wife was told in passing as we were heading out the door. I don't know what the total bill is as our friend footed the bill. I just hope the tip was minimal or non existent because this was poor management if they are not able to juggle two aspects of the establishment. We went on St Patrick's day around 5pm with a baby, they have high chairs and boosters. There weren't many customers there, which I preferred. There was good nostalgic music but not too loud, cute 90s trivia cards, and MTV and sports on the many tv's. We had burgers, the Clint Eastwood and truffle Mac and cheese, they were exactly what we wanted. Not a gourmet burger, but a solid bar burger. Fries were very crispy and good, vanilla milkshake was nice and thick too. Staff was very friendly, place was clean. I'm not sure if I would try all the menu items, like the salmon. I absolutely loved this place the first few times I tried it. The last few times I went, the food was way over salted and over garlic-ed! But the food is the reason I kept going back. Unfortunately something should be said about the service. The servers don't seem familiar with the menu or the bar options. They're very friendly but it's frustrating to ask a question about the menu or a drink and your waiter doesn't know the answer. Also hire another one!! Clearly these poor guys are struggling. He barely came back to the table, didn't bring bread, didn't refill our waters, didn't check if we wanted another drink, didn't ask how the food was, took forever to get our check after multiple requests and took a long time to bring our to go boxes. My wife and I went to Booyah to see what the food was like, and because they are catering the New Year's Eve gala at the Doubletree Hilton next-door. We were mad at the door by Carol, who showed us to our table and will absolutely make sure that your evening is a delightful one. We ordered fried calamari and garlic Parmesan wings, and they were both perfect and delicious. As an entrée, my wife had the pork chop marsala, and I had a fantastic Burrata salad with sliced steak (medium). Although it was only a salad, it was fantastic. Very tasty and the steak was cooked perfectly. My wife's pork chop marsala was also cooked to perfection and came with delicious mashed potatoes and asparagus. Our server was named Santiago and he was so attentive and so pleasant to be around that I can't recommend him any higher. All I can say is if you haven't been to Booya for drinks, snack, snacks, or dinner I suggest you hightail it over there as soon as possible and see what all the good reviews are talking about. 10 out of 10 for me. read more

My waitress came back and took my food order. NY strip and onion rings.... She repeated back NY strip and French Fries, I said no onion rings.
