Had the opportunity to visit the Brick Oven in St. Peter's and happy we did. Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon during a recent snow storm and took advantage of one of the few places open. We ordered some classic wings and a combination pizza and totally taken by surprise. I'm not a big fan of local STL pizza but the Brick Oven is different. Brick oven can not only cook traditional NY or Chicago style pizza most are familiar with, that can also cook STL style which most mid-westerners prefer. Service was awesome and very personable. Highly recommend the Brick Oven for anyone wanting a fresh pizza and a variety of appetizers and entree options. read more

This is one of the best places for Mediterranean cuisine in Saint Peter's, MO! From the extremely delicious pasta and salads, to their absolutely, AMAZING pizzas this is a great place to go when you crave a nice intimate setting for family, friends or just a solo stop in. The service is great with servers greeting you as soon as you walk in plus they are extremely, attentive to your needs. As much as I would love to leave a great review I can't. I ordered my pizza online and it was not ready by the time it was scheduled. This was not the only issue. I ordered a supreme pizza and the pizza I received was far from that. It didn't have hardly any ingredients on it at all and was told it was under the cheese. I showed the lady at the counter what I ordered online (their picture) and she said yes this is it. She was not very customer friendly at all but as a matter of fact she was dismissive and told me this is the way it was. I came in for lunch with my brother and we got chicken wings, toasted ravioli, and a deep dish pizza. The sauce for both the toasted ravioli and deep dish pizza was just off, and the chicken wings were too saucy and just not very good. The restaurant was fairly clean besides the toilet having a few skid marks in it. We were seated very quickly and the server was incredible though, unfortunately we just didn't enjoy the food. read more

If I could give them a negative rating I would. Just picked up a deep dish pizza, chicken Alfredo pizza and fried mushrooms. I was sooooo disappointed. The mushrooms were from frozen and freezer burned. The pizza crusts were possibly hand made but had been frozen before use and did not rise properly so they were very dense. The "deep dish" was just frozen crust in a deep pan with copious amounts of regular pizza sauce - no rip tomatoes, just the regular amount of old cheese. I thought from the reviews that this was an overlooked gem. Instead I find that they just have a great spin doctor and inedible food. Everything I bought is headed for the garbage. I ordered the Chicago style pizza. This review is about the food only. I ordered this from Uber eats so there is no customer interaction. First of all it claimed to be a Chicago style pizza. It is nothing more than a oversize deep dish pizza. Not even close to Chicago style. Second of all, there is no flavor whatsoever. Unless you consider salt a flavor. This is our second visit here and after the first visit we were looking forward to another pizza. We should have read the menu closer as we ordered St. Louis style and we aren't fond of the provolone cheese on it. It was actually much better the next day warmed up in the microwave! The dinner salad is quite generous in size and the house made cilantro like dressing was very good. The wine is sold by the glass, 1/2 carafe, or full carafe. Food was not good and took forever as they seemed to prioritize DoorDash and Uber eats over in store customers. A gentleman who worked there complained to us the entire time about younger folks not wanting to work the entire time we were trying to eat. The salad is served on a cheap paper plate, the salad dressing was terrible tasting and almost as thick as jello. The pasta was mush and the shrimp tasted like it was warmed up. I ordered a NY Style Pepperoni. Best Cheesiest Pizza I have had around here so far and I love the Extra Large Size. My Son Loved the pizza and devoured half of it in 2.5 seconds. We will Definitely be coming back for more. French Fries: We love their fries. I'd come back just for Fries alone. Garlic Cheese Bread: Excellent: Just wish I got more than 3 pieces per order. Well this turned out to be a bit disappointing. It started well, but the entrees failed me. The wife and I both ordered Mediterranean, rather than pizza, so you'll have to look at my rating based on this. As we were heading to our booth, we passed a table with a NY style cheese pizza that did look delicious. We started with the sample platter appetizer, and it was awesome - hot and fresh from the kitchen, with all the items delicious: falafel, kibbeh, fresh hummus, pita bread. Unfortunately, the entrees that followed were weak. My wife's Greek salad with gyro meat was room temperature or warmer, resulting in wilty, soggy lettuce and cucumbers that looked like pickle slices. The gyro meat appeared to be three pre-formed slabs of meat, rather than pieces sliced from a spit. They also were about the temperature of the salad. It's like it had all been sitting in the kitchen while the rest of the meal was prepared - which it probably was. The meat can be either hot or cold, the but salad itself needs to be chilled, not gross. My beef shawarma sandwich was okay, but it just seemed like a gyro sandwich with slightly different tasting meat - which I guess it what it is. However, other shawarma's I've had were more distinctive, especially when using a thinner pita bread that is cooked panini-style. I do have to acknowledge their very good baklava, though. Plus, they give you two decent size squares for a low price - much better than some other places that gouge you on it. read more

Really disappointed in the food.... spent close to $30 on 2 gyros mozz sticks and a salad. The creamy Italian dressing was absolutely disgusting. Couldn't eat that. I'm not typically one to give a bad review and honestly I think The Brick Oven has some great Mediterranean choices. It's a little slice of nostalgia for me, which is why I'm giving it two stars. But holey moley guacamoley I've tried on multiple days at multiple different times to call the store in order to place a pick up order and no one ever answers the phone. Like, I've probably tried 5-6 times in the last week and not once has anyone answered. I'd love to order from here but I literally can't. One of our go-to places as it is a family owned and a non-chain place and I do try to support local. Pizzas and pastas are great! Greek options never miss. Their house dressing (creamy Italian, I think?) is good and a little on the sweet side, so an easy win if you're trying to get kids to eat more greens although I do wish there were more veggies in it and something more than iceberg lettuce. Love this place for family dinners. Dad/kids get pizza and I go a bit more Mediterranean so I don't feel completely guilty. Oh, but the fries are the thick batter-dipped kind. It is my one weakness there. Service is not always the fastest, but it is always friendly and the prices are reasonable, especially since it's hard to find good Greek around here! All reasons why this remains on our short list. Will return once dining-in is more of an option for our family. read more

I know this is going to sound kind of harsh of me, but I wasn't impressed by this place. The food was nothing that made me want to go back for again. Mind you, this place is a little challenging for me to get to. The food tasted alright. Nothing really bad about it, but nothing really good either. My parents enjoyed this place and wanted me to try it with them. They weren't really excited the second time they went. We went for their lunch buffet. The cooks weren't prepared with the pizza out and ready. They were open and half the buffet still wasn't made. So, we went to The Brick Oven on a Saturday evening (2/15/2020) as we were trying to find a new pizza place. This was close (as in distance) but not close to what I was looking for. Not busy at all but service was still very slow. We ordered something that should not be easy to mess up and I'll give them that. But the Breaded Portobello Mushrooms, not good. They had a hard breading, and the breading was lukewarm while the inside was a little warmer, not really hot. I'm sure the were just dropped from a bag of frozen into the deep fryer. The pizza was Chicago Style Deep Dish. Sausage was good. The tomato sauce was OK, the crust was horrible. Absolutely no flavor. It could have been good if the crust was good. But it wasn't so I will not be going back. read more

I was hopeful, like really so excited to try this place, but unfortunately The Brick Oven fell flat. Finding parking here was fun! There were maybe 4 spots in front and the other that weren't handicap were at the complete other end of the parking lot. Being next to a salon and tattoo shop left a few spots, but barely. Decor inside is not visually appealing. Decals on the wall from Dollar Tree, and roll paper on top of the tablecloth. The bathroom was the nicest visual I could find. Ordered a beef gyro and a chicken "schwerma" as the menu was spelled (that was a first after all my years near Dearborn, Michigan but apparently there are many spellings according to Google) .... side of cheese for our fries. Chicken was blah, 2 gherkin and this was wrapped in a pita bread (like a gyro) with lettuce (what the heck?) and the tahini sauce - ugh! I'm so used to, I guess you could say spoiled, authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. Garlic sauce or hummus is usually served on this sandwich. I was let down. Hubby has the beef gyro, which clearly was a frozen product, everything sliced the same and it was just clearly not made in house. He is still wondering who puts a pickle on a gyro. This is a new one for me too. The cheese sauce was nacho cheese. Who does this? Bless her heart, the waitress tried so hard to make it better which is the only reason I gave 2 starts. I wasn't going to send my food back, because nothing else even looked appealing. She did take the cheese sauce off our bill though (just mine) so she really felt bad. Ok so I read all the reviews and didn't really care that they didn't have a brick oven. Not a huge concern of mine. I went with friends here on lunch and looked through the menu, it was a little weird to have so many types of food but whatever. After my friends came back from the buffet and had tasty looking selections, I just got the buffet also. I ate a lot of chicken and pizza. And normally you don't see good chicken on a buffet. Its usually mediocre and not good, but this was pretty good. The Pizza was good also, and my friends all like the thin crust as well as my self. I honestly don't go out to eat for lunch very often and will most likely order off the menu next time, mainly to avoid over eating. I know a lot of you would say there is no such thing but yeah you can for sure stuff your face here. PS the salad was really good also, the dressing was the star. Service was pretty good even if it was just refilling our drinks. read more
