I recently ordered the Chipotle Chicken BBQ Folded Flat and was genuinely surprised by what arrived. The menu photo and description led me to expect a flatbread -- what I received was a single corn taco. As a pescatarian, I substituted shrimp for chicken and was charged an additional $6.89 for the swap, bringing the total to over $17 for a single taco. What arrived was cold pesto shrimp in a cold corn taco topped with a few black beans and pieces of corn. A combination that didn't work, and one I did not order. At that price point, I expected something much closer to what was advertised. I'd encourage the restaurant to update the menu photos and description to "taco" so future customers know what they're ordering. When I called, I was offered a refund only for the $6.89 shrimp upcharge, which didn't feel right given I couldn't eat the dish at all. They also have a fine selection of quality ingredients should you wish to build your own. They offer other items other than salads like sandwiches, shareable plates and hearty soups. On my trip, I went for their seasonal spiced pear with spiced pears, cranberries, goat cheese and avocado with a drizzle of jalapeno honey dressing. What I appreciated the most is how they go about preparing the salad. It's just a handful of greens tossed into a bowl with all the other fixings -- they take the greens and they are chopped finely which I absolutely loved! I had lunch here with five other women on a Friday. We arrived shortly after they opened and easily found and put together a couple of tables to accommodate the six of us. We each went up to order, most of us chose the pick two specials. Unfortunately mine was the only one that was correct in the entire group. Most people either had the wrong soup or the wrong salad, one had both wrong. We are an amiable bunch so no one complained, in part because correcting it would mean another wait for those who requested it and besides that the line was quite long by then. Some of our party swapped their items among themselves to correct it where possible or to trade away something incorrect that they really did not want. But really, I was shocked. I've never been anywhere that 5 out of 6 had their order messed up. My salad was very good and I was pleased with it. It's a nice dining room, and the bathrooms were clean. This isn't just about slow service or a small mistake -- it was clear the employees genuinely did not care and acted like it was a burden to even acknowledge customers. It felt like they went out of their way to be unpleasant. I've never written a negative review before in my life, but this experience was so outrageously bad that it needed to be said. This is hands-down the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. The workers acted completely incompetent, careless, and ungrateful. I really struggle when I have to leave a negative review but this one is a health hazard. I'm a huge fan of crushed red and have eaten at several locations. I always get the custom salads and love the variety of additions I can utilize in my dish. The ingredients at this location seemed fresh. I have struggled with slimy spinach at other locations but this one was crispy and delicious. The lost stars was 100% about cleanliness. When I stepped up to the ingredient bar it was literally swarming with fruit flies! The salad artist actually had to swat them away to build my salad. Two lazy over fed flies even joined me at my table. It was actually appalling. I looked up the cause and potential danger of fruit flies in a restaurant. This is an avoidable situation even with the food sitting out. (Which it should be covered until they get rid of the bugs) It is also dangerous because these flies go wherever there is moisture from the mops and floors to the open food bar. I can't believe they have let the infestation get so out of control! I kept looking at the team members waiting for someone to mention the obvious insect issue that surrounded us. Now that I've fully investigated the potential dangers of this situation I will definitely not be returning to this location and I would advise other crushed red lovers to steer clear. read more

Tried the Tulsa Twister (I think that's the name) and it was excellent! The steak is tender and flavorful and the other ingredients work so well together. Crushed Red is one of my favorites. Today I ordered the artichoke dip for probably the 15th time. It came out with the flat bread and lavash , however, it must have been the bottom of the bag because 3/4 of the crackers were no bigger than my fingernail. I politely asked the food runner if I could have some bigger pieces of lavash and she replied "that's just the way they come." I'm no, these are basically breadcrumbs. She eventually did bring me out some more. After my second bit of discovered the dip was ice cold in the middle. I could have asked them to reheat but at this point why bother. Sometimes it's hard to find restaurants with a menu that has calorie content, but they have a new nutritional calculator so you know all the micros and macros. First time visiting Crushed Red. The menu looks great. Lots of custom made to order salad choices, pizza, flatbread and soups. I chose the Two for You option which gets you a small entree and choice of soup. I picked the Chipotle BBQ Chicken folded flat bread and Butter Nut Squash soup. Ordering was easy and counter service Team was great and pleasant to work with. After paying at another counter/drink station you are are provided with an order number placard and self service beverage glass. I wasn't seated more than 3-4 minutes when my order was delivered to my table by a server. The Chipotle BBQ Flatbread looked appetizing and prepared carefully. The flatbread was fresh as was the BBQ Chicken filling...very nice. Butternut squash soup....is absolutely amazing!! It's smooth and rich tasting....doesn't disappoint! I enjoyed both very much, not too filling, just right. The dining area and tables were clean and each stocked with silverware and cloth napkins. Tables were cleared by staff quickly and replenished with new silverware and napkins. This is a gem of a restaurant. I will definitely be back to try new menu items. read more

The butternut squash soup was thin & runny, & it had a plastic or chemical after taste. The South Coast Shrimp fat bread was awful. The crust was doughy & undercooked. The pesto shrimp tasted like they'd been sitting out all night! Chewy & musty as did the sauce. The tomatoes were fresh. I tried to make it work by removing the shrimp & popping the flat bread in the toaster oven, but it didn't help. The one thing that was very tasty was the Urban Zest Dip. It's a limited time app (I believe) the crushed tomatoes & oil was balanced very well & it had a great fresh, herb flavor! Plus the pita was cooked, salted & seasoned wonderfully! (I almost didn't order it, but I really glad that I did because it ended up being my entire lunch) I'll probably give it a second try... because the food inside looked good & smelled good... it just did not taste good... that was a disappointing $24 lunch. read more

I gave it another chance this time around and tried their salad which was waayyy better than their salads had been. The employees are very welcoming, pleasant, patient (my ordering technique requires a bit of patience) and I appreciated it. Reuben prepared my salad with precision and lots of TLC. I went with the mini size Limited Edition LobStar Salad and created my own little Veggie Flatbread. The order was up in a few short minutes; delivered right to my table. I was checked on throughout my stay ensuring everything was enjoyable (I appreciated that as well). The restaurant is nicely decorated, TV's mounted for your entertainment purposes & all.
