I love this place. The acrylic nails are so fun and last such a long time. No matter how stressed or in a hurry I am, the experience leaves me relaxed and with a great product to show for it. I especially love the level of professionalism shown by all the staff. One thing I absolutely hate is constant meaningless personal chatter while I am getting a treatment. Had a great massage with Allissa on Tuesday. I have arthritis in my back and hips so I was a little nervous the massage would make things worse. She was great though, just the right amount of pressure and that night I slept like a baby. The next day I had the least amount of back pain I've had in a long time. The girls up front are wonderful and I find myself often having business meetings there in the front room. I'm not sure about the coffee but the hot chocolate is great. My husband had been working long days on his feet for several weeks (not typical for him), and decided he needed his first pedicure. After finding out 2 days before our Saturday appt that another salon (*cough* Sprout) could only do each one-hour pedicure one at a time, I called Brick House. They were able to fit us in at the last minute. My husband got the "sports pedicure," and I got the classic. Our nail techs were great. Friendly, but not overly chatty, and didn't ask a bunch of awkward questions trying to fill the silence. (I once had a pedicure at Spa Paradiso where the lady asked me why my bf of 3+ years and I weren't married--really?!) My husband was nervous but they put him at ease. I really like that they make their own brown sugar scrub, and the whole process was leisurely and relaxing. It was definitely not the quickie pedicure that you'll get in a strip-mall salon. I haven't had anything other than a pedicure here, but I will go back as money allows. I haven't tried their waxing, but if you don't tell them explicitly what you want, it isn't their fault if you don't like it. read more

I have been to the brickhouse COUNTLESS times. I have never, not once during any of my massages have I been disappointed. You do have to try a few different massage therapists out because each has their own style, but as soon as you do find one you like the experience is always great. My massage therapist would warm her oils in her hand before putting them on (unlike other places where they put it cold...Come on!) Everything was very pleasant. All my appointments were kept, I was even late a few times and they still gave me the full time. The front desk is very friendly and approachable, not arrogant like other places I've been to. This was my very 1st facial, and loved how it made my skin feel. They recommended some great natural products for skin care. Repeat client for massage and pedi. I made an appointment to have a pedi done, then called back to check and see if another time might be available,told no-which is fine, but the person answering the phone both times was so rude, short, and unfriendly that I called back later and cancelled. FYI, that person was also rude and short with me. If you can't even sound friendly and courteous on the phone, I can't image how you will treat me once I'm there. I will stick with Spa Paradiso or the Davenport Spa. They are always friendly, helpful, and nice. My husband and I have visited The Brick House several times in the past. I booked z full day of services for our anniversary. Massages, facials, manis, and pedis. This visit, things were a bit bumpy. They forgot to enter my phone number in the schedule so I had to call to ensure they had us scheduled (they usually start reminders several days in advance). Unfortunately, one of the nail techs had a family emergency, so they canceled my husband's mani and pedi. Not her fault. The replacement service of an extra foot scrub, rub, and paraffin dip was lack luster and the young lady who did the service seemed annoyed at best. My manicure didn't make it a full day. The polish bubbled and the edges rubbed off by noon the next day. Under normal circumstances, no biggie, but I was headed to a wedding and didn't have time to fix it. The facials were great, as were the massages. But the desk staff were not as pleasant as usual and could not or would not answer what seemed like simple questions. "Do you still sell those awesome robes? Do you still have our paperworkfromour last visitor doweneedtocomeinearly?" Anyway, if you go fir a massage or facial, so worth it. Skip the nail services. I had a pedicure today with a young Russian woman whose name I can't recall at this time. She talked loudly throughout the pedicure and I was hoping she would just focus on the task at hand. At any rate, I noticed that she applied the cover coat very thickly two times and I couldn't imagine how it would ever dry to a smooth finish. My big toe nails are now lumpy messes covered in bubbles - - not what I was hoping for to wear sandals at a wedding this week. I also noticed dried blood on a toe. Overall, a very disappointing experience. A girlfriend and I went together for pedicures to celebrate our birthdays. Thankfully, she was pleased with the results of her pedicure from a different technician. Friendly service. However, I am a licensed nail tech and nearly 50% of my mani and pedi did not get completed. Highly disappointed, especially when my mani and pedi with gel polish on my hands was over $100 . I was getting my mani and pedi for a special occasion - my daughters wedding- because i don't typically take a $100 splurge like that. I chose to get gel on my hands since the wedding was still 4 days away and I wanted it to last, but by doing so my toes and fingers did not match in color and they do not put the gel on the toes. My feet were not scrubbed nor were my heels or sides of feet relieved of calluses. My fingers were not soaked and cuticle removal was not done. I do keep my feet up and realize that my feet do not need much extra scrubbing however, when I pay for a service, I want all steps completed. read more

Don't even bother TRYING to book a time at this place. Why? Because they won't even uphold your appointment time. I had booked a stone massage for my dad, and the appointment either got cancelled or pushed by them for another time. When I had finally booked for the third time, at a SPECIFIC time at 4PM EVEN AFTER CONFIRMING THE TIME BEFOREHAND, my dad got a call asking why he hasn't shown up at 2:15PM. I call again asking why I was put down for 2:15, when I had confirmed for 4pm. The only thing the receptionist could say is "I don't know what to tell you." I am beyond livid. Is this how you guys conduct business? BrickHouse clearly doesn't care about customer care and how to handle their customer disputes. I'm disappointed as I know my dad was looking forward to it, but BrickHouse lost my business and I'll be mentioning it to friends where not to go. It's unfortunate because I can't even finish my review on the massage itself. Customer service deserves a big fat F. read more

Awesome place overall. I had a massage there one time that I got as a gift, and it was so great. I also recently started getting my eyebrows waxed there and they always do a great job, they are so flexible and can squeeze me in when I need it. I don't know if I've ever had the same lady twice to do my brows but it's always very consistent and well done. The setting in the room is very relaxing as well, usually almost fall asleep when I'm in there lol. The receptionist is really great also. read more

Only complaint I have is since they have moved to the valley mall, the walls are very thin and you can hear everyone walking in and out of the lobby and talking. It kind of interrupted my relaxation. My mom also goes to Reese regularly and is thrilled with how it has helped her knees and legs feel better. I had a 90 minute massage and a 75 minute facial and the spa itself is super cute and very cozy! My massage therapist Ariel was very sweet and she did an amazing job on my massage. I feel bad saying this but my facial was not good. The lady who did my facial was very sweet but the whole thing felt extremely rushed and abrasive which made my facial not relaxing at all. She was very knowledgable about the products but the application of all of them was super intense and abrasive and fast. I definitely would recommend the massages though, that was awesome! read more

I went to Brickhouse 5 days before my wedding. My mom and I had gift cards, so we decided to make an afternoon of it. We signed up for manicures, pedicures, and unfortunately, I signed up to get my eyebrows waxed. Five days before my wedding, I lay on the table as the young woman starts gooping up my eyebrows with wax. My mom was trying to be friendly with her and asked where she had gone to school. As I lay there with hot wax drying on my eyebrows, she proceeds to tell us that she wouldn't recommend her school because she had to teach herself everything she knew. Should have been a huge, red flag, but I've never had my eyebrows botched before, so I didn't think anything of it. When she handed me the mirror, I laughed because I didn't know how else to handle the fact that a quarter-inch more than necessary was gone from the inside of one, just one, of my eyebrows. Now that I think about it, she plucked, and plucked, and plucked. After staring at myself and wanting to burst into tears, I said, "funny how you hand someone a mirror after waxing their eyebrows, yet there is nothing you can do about it if they are unhappy..." or something to that effect. For the next week I was stuck making jokes about myself getting married with half an eyebrow because there was nothing I could do about it. My fiance even NOTICED the botched job without me even having to point it out. He has since requested I do my eyebrows myself from now on. They have zero shape to them, and like I stated before, one of them is a quarter-inch too short. And now, I get to look at the horrible job forever in all of my wedding photos. As far as the other services, the pedicure was great. The polish has yet to chip after a week on the sand in Hawaii and a half marathon. The one somewhat annoying thing about the pedicure was having to listen to the woman complain about her fiance spending money on his 18 wheeler and how he "spent the money without asking," and "bought a new truck without asking," and "that's why we didn't get married LAST summer." Part of what going to the spa is about is for relaxation. Not only was it completely unprofessional to talk about her personal problems, it just wasn't relaxing. The gellish manicure started peeling the day of our wedding. Not a big deal. I'm not used to having long nails, so I was probably hard on them. After we got married, I immediately cut my nails and picked all the polish off that I was told would have to be professionally removed. The polish came off quite easily. Initially, it looked great, but I don't think I'd pay extra for a gellish manicure again. I hesitate to return to Brickhouse. I expected so much more after reading they won "Best Of" in the Inlander. Makes me wonder if all the employees kept making submissions to get the spa ranked that high. It just wasn't that wonderful. read more

The shop is very cute and comfortable. The tech did a pretty decent job on my shellac manicure but failed to remove the prior polish completely. I have small spots of deep red on the outer edges of my nails. I also paid $45, pricier than other manicures I've had, and the tech didn't trim my cuticles. After I was done, the front desk lady reminded me to let them know if polish needed to be removed next time as that adds time to the service, but I had done so when I scheduled the appointment. I did receive a little gift mug and chocolate on my way out with a coupon for a free latte. All in all, I'd rather pay less and just have the nail service done more thoroughly. I wouldn't recommend this place with enthusiasm, but I'd give it another shot. read more
