I grew up in Umatilla- class of 1984. I am back in Umatilla twice a year visiting family and tonight was my first time in The Bridge. I have lived in Las Vegas for 11 years and so coming home is a reality check and a stark contrast to my life there - especially when it comes to Shopping and food options (I will forever be a small-town Umatilla girl at heart) My experience at The Bridge tonight was a WOW!!! surprise. I ordered the vegetarian pizza on cauliflower crust, a huckleberry wheat beer and a blackberry lemonade margarita - THIS PLACE IS LEGIT! I loved the decor and ambiance. My server Kim was AMAZING. What a gem in such an unexpected spot. Stopped here for dinner on a road trip, and I was starving and looking for a burger and a beer. Boy, did I go to the right place. The waitress brought me a cold tap beer immediately and recommended the Beggin' for Bacon burger with truffle oil fries. I went with her recommendation, and she did not steer me wrong. This bad boy (see photo) was a 1/2 lb of beef with bacon mixed in to the patty plus a couple of slices on top. I was in heaven. Their fries are really wonderful, I ate far too many but with a cold beer what can you do? The wait staff was super friendly. She struck up a conversation about the national park on my T-shirt and chatted for a while. Nice. Was in town for work recently and quickly realized that Umatilla (and even Hermiston) have a real lack of quality places to eat. This really seemed like the only decent option in all of Umatilla, and fortunately it did not disappoint. We went there 2 nights in a row! The first night I had a burger and the second night I had pizza, and I'm not sure which I liked better! Their food is great, service was great the first night and admittedly lacked the next, but still a great place overall. Stop over for the night, at the motel next door. This hit the spot. Immediately greeted/seated. Pleasant music in background playing. Karen was attentive and engaging. My daughter and I enjoyed our meal and the wifi, since t-mobile service was non existent here in town. Not to mention, the next morning ordered coffee and a protein box, through the drive through coffee around back of the building. Per my daughter, they protein box was superior to SBux. High praise. We are new to the area and tried the Bridge after driving by it many times, so glad we stopped in. This was the first restaurant that offered our daughter coloring crayons to keep her busy while the adults could socialize. We will definitely be going back again and will take our visitors also. Excellent above and beyond service. They changed the channel on one of the TV's so we could all watch the game from both sides of the table. Our person with dietary restrictions got exactly what they wanted. The food came out hot and delicious. Also the restrooms were clean and well stocked. I ordered a Thai chicken pizza to go, and the girl taking my order was really nice. I go in, and was also greeted with a great attitude as well. I paid for my pizza, walk to my car, and open the box since I was curious to see! The box was made for a 14" pizza. I got a pizza that was around 11-12". Really disappointing. I was wanting to share this with my siblings, but since the slices were so small when we shared we were still hungry. The pizza was alright. And 17$ for this? 17$! You've got to be kidding me. If I ever order food from here again it's because you have an actual fair price for the pizza. I won't be coming back. read more

Stopped for a late dinner and got a bacon burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was juicy, thick and cooked perfectly. The fries are waffle cut and were crispy on the outside but still soft inside. Very good. Our server was busy (Monday night football was on the TVs and there were a few full tables), but she was very nice and attentive. We are in town for work and I bet we'll be back. read more

I'm not impressed! First, the waitress was good and was attentive enough. The food was just terrible. The poutine was a sad, soggy, yucky mess with questionable cheese curds. None of the cheese was even remotely melted, telling me it was never very hot. To their credit, it was taken off of the bill. The shrimp tacos were not good. It was as if the chipotle sauce on the shrimp was fighting against whatever weird flavor was on the slaw. My husband added onion rings which were $10. $10 for onions! Not sure if they have closed up shop. 1:30 on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon and the door is locked and parking lot empty.

My wife and I went there for dinner on 4/27 around 6 I think we sat got our menus and drinks pretty fast ordered our appetizer and food I ordered the steak rare and my wife ordered the chicken Alfredo after our waitress dropped off our food we might have seen her maybe one more time. Now time for the food review remind you I am also a cook/manager at another restaurant when I received my steak sandwich I cut into it to make sure it was cooked right nope it was about a medium to medium-well and no flavor at all it was bland as heck my wife's chicken Alfredo was greasy I guess when I brought up about the steak to the server she didn't even try to make it right if I was in her shoes I would've went and talked to the manager on duty and explain hey he ate all of his sandwich but blah blah blah is there any way we can discount it a little bit nope none of that so probably won't be back at all read more

Stopped in on our way to the Pendleton rodeo. Had the Bacon Burger and it was delicious. Bun was fresh and toasted to perfection. Bacon was crispy but the homemade hamburger patty was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth. Stopped overnight on our way to Idaho camping. Reviews sounded good, so we brought the six of us to try the Bridge Bistro. Lovely rustic decor, greeted immediately and directed to our seats. Two boys under 11 and four adults. We all chose something different. My hubby had the five alarm burger and loved it, the Mac and cheese was a great hit. Poutine was tried for the first time with mixed results (not bad, just different). Hamburgers and oh, the fries- yummo! Service was quick and attentive. Bathrooms clean. Service slow and not attentive. We saw 2 plates in the pass though when we finally got our appetizer after 15 + minutes wait for the appetizer. Then the waitress brought us those 2 plates as our dinner 10 minutes later. I had cold partially raw fries and warm almost hot Cole slaw. I was scared to try the fish. The calaflower bites appetizer had no flavor except the dressing drizzled on it and were served cold. Will NEVER go back. Then the fastest service was from the check to taking the credit card. The first ticket said 37.50 the charged recipt said 38.25. They charge .75 cents to run the cc and don't tell you. It wasn't posted anywhere. Highly advise to try better places in area. read more

First and last time in today. The food is extremely overpriced. Both the taste and quality were poor. We ordered teriyaki burgers, it was the flattest flavor of a burger I've ever eaten. Zero taste. My husband's 15.00 steak sandwich was the size of a McDonald's chicken sandwich, he opted for ketchup with his fries and was given 4 packets of ketchup, again for a $15.00 sandwich on the menu. I had not tried Poutine before and was told The Bridge had really Poutine. I got the cheeseburger poutine and it was good, the fries were very crispy and there were just the right amount of toppings to keep the fries crispy. Would have loved a bit more cheese as the curds were so good! Also got a pizza, it was good, I probably won't get it again. I'm not used to eating so much crust. I recommend them. read more

Riverside is a legend. I'd heard of this across-the-border/river-establishment for years. I'd heard both scary and lustful stories. I was always hesitant of making the 1hr trip down south, but as luck would have it, I recently made a trip to this venue with a female friend. It was sort of a quick trip, but it was interesting to say the least. So, I'd heard that Portland was the strip club capitol of the world, and I think I can vouch for that after hosting my bro's bachelor party: Summer 2010. With that experience, I was intrigued to make a trip across the border. There were rumors of smiles, scars, and shadiness, but what I found was normalcy. On a Saturday night, we approached the Riverside building. There is a restaurant attached, and we thought the place was closed because there was no one in the restaurant, but patrons outside said, "nope, just walk on in." So, there is a cover to get in (atleast on the night we were there); it was something like $5-8. That's a bit weak (there's no cover in Portland), but we're in Umatilla, so it wasn't a shock. I was surprised by a few things when we walked in: the place was packed, and the dancers were pretty good. Yeah, this place was hoppin' on a Saturday night. Because of it's location, I'm sure this venue gets guests from all over eastern Washington (since there is nothing like this on this eastside...and probably including the west side as well. That's just how Washington is). As for the dancers, they definitely had skills. The pole work was above average, and the Saturday night shift included some definite lookers. Because of this, I wondered where they came from. Maybe they were from PDX? Or were they from the Tri-Cities (ummm....nuh huh.) Or could they be from Umatilla (definitely not).
