Amazing food, fire drinks, and great service every time! If you are from Ohio or NY, you'll fit right in. The owners put their heart into this place and it shows! Decided to meet up with a friend and check out this new spot that's been open for about 5 or 6 weeks. I was so surprised I didn't know this place was here. To be honest it really was The Brightside of my night. The spot was popping with locals and travelers which is rare for this side of town, but it's definitely making a comeback. The service was OnPoint, and the ambience is definitely the kind a place where everybody knows your name. I definitely wanted whiskey, and wasn't sure if I was gonna go on the rocks or an old fashion, but instead, I was really impressed when the bartender recommended a Rob Roy! I moved to Miami a couple years ago and no one ever recommends this drink yet it's a classic and one of my faves. They definitely did it justice. If you've never had one, I definitely suggest you try. Was really hoping to try the Beef On Weck. Unfortunately for us, this stunner was all out, so we split the burger with the house baked buns and tater tots. Personally, I'm a tots fan and these were crispy on the outside and just right on the inside. The burger was full of flavor. Meat was melt in your mouth. It wasn't as "medium" as I prefer but it wasn't a dealbreaker. It was juicy with that grilled taste that ties it all together. I'll be coming back soon to work my way down the menu. So I've been hearing about this place for so long now. I was finally able to make it out here the other day and it did not disappoint! they have street parking in the front and a lot in the back. I found parking right away, but I can only imagine what the place is like for a big game! If you live in the surrounding area, highly suggest ubering. Anyways, as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by one of the staff members and asked to be seated wherever I'd like. Our server was attentive and funny the entire time. Since I went on a Tuesday, they had all day happy hour, which is honestly what brought me to the bar that day--besides the Panther's opener. My friends and I had a couple beers and skinny margaritas. To eat, we grabbed a burger, fries and wings. Everything was good. Although they offer chips, I wish the fries came with the burger, given that it's $18. The ambiance was just as I expected. Every time the Panther's scored a goal, the owner/bar manager would wave a gigantic Panther's flag and play the same roar you hear at the arena. That alone is catchy enough to make patrons want to come back for another game! I recommend this spot for anyone who loves sports and a good, lively ambiance. read more

We have been so excited to try The Brightside for a few weeks now. It did not disappoint! The food was amazing and so fresh. It tastes like homemade food. It is also super affordable and a cool spot to bring your family and friends. You can play Mario Kart on Tuesdays!!We got the fish and chips and bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. Our waiter Manny was so kind and attentive. He was an absolute sweetheart and made sure we had everything we needed. The vibe is your classic American bar and hangout. I'd normally give The Brightside 3 stars which means "OK" on Yelp, as it was worthy of 3 stars when we came here. However, it appears this bar/restaurant is perhaps blitzing Yelp with artificially inflated and possibly fake 5 star reviews which, based on my experience at this bar/restaurant, it's simply not worthy of. Most every review for this place is 5 stars, and there are another 3 pages of 5 star reviews that were hidden / marked not recommended by Yelp's algorithm - which is usually accurate in situations like this. Anyone familiar with how Yelp works, knows it'd be VERY abnormal for nearly every customer to rate a place like The Brightside with a solid 5 stars - especially when even some Michelin-star rated places in Miami don't rate nearly that high on Yelp. Something's really amiss there, and for that reason alone I'm dropping a star and only giving this place 2. As for my experience here, 2 of us arrived, had a seat and a server was there relatively quickly. We started off with the buffalo chicken dip with chips which was good. For drinks, I had the Hang on Sloopy, while the person I was with had the Dancing Nancy. Both were good and refreshing, but neither seemed to contain much alcohol. For our meals I had the beef on weck with tater tots, while he had the burger with fries. We also both ordered mojitos. I've had a similar beef sandwich elsewhere and what I had here at The Brightside was quite good, with the usual kummelweck roll with coarse salt and caraway seeds, though the menu said it'd be served with pickles which I, at least, didn't receive. The burger and fries were good, but the burger tasted like it was made with a frozen patty. The mojitos were pretty bad, lacking sugar or syrup so they were almost bitter, and as with our first round, the mojitos contained little detectable alcohol. Our food was OK, but after 2 mixed drinks each that were either watered down or stingy pours, we decided to pay our bill and go up the street to The Gibson Room where drinks are properly served. Before we left, I went to use the restroom and saw a sign advertising fish and chips. I'd have ordered that if I knew it was available, but it wasn't listed on the menus we were given. The buffalo chicken dip with chips was $15, burger/fries and beef sandwich/tater tots were $20 each (they come with chips; fries or tots are $2 extra). Cocktails were $14 each which would normally be about average for Miami, but what we were served weren't worth that, as they contained little discernible alcohol and the mojitos were badly made. This place has a mix of various memorabilia behind the bar and plenty of screens for showing sports and other programming, though the staff may need training on how to work them, as one of the bartenders kept trying to load things like YouTube TV and Apple TV to show on the screens, which this bar evidently doesn't subscribe to. read more

Our flight from Tampa to Miami was canceled so we had to drive to Miami. After 5 and a half hours in the car we all needed something to eat and alcoholic drinks. We got in just as the kitchen called it a night, but the manager said if we ordered right away that she could accommodate us. Our server / bartender (I think his name was Joseph - sorry if I messed that up) was really genuine and helpful to give us tips on their best cocktails and things to do in town. Everyone ordered something different, but they all loved their food. I ordered the chicken wrap and it was delicious. Fresh greens and veggies and freshly cooked chicken with a nice dressing on the side. Thanks for the hospitality, guys! Some of the best humans we met in Miami. read more

I was extremely excited to give this place a try given both the void of a good local sports bar in the area and the amount of high level reviews. So I decided to stop in with my kid for happy hour. At first glance parking can be deceiving. You can try to find parking on Coral Way but there is a large 30-40 car size parking lot with a convenient entrance in the back. The place is really nice. They have sports decor and TVs all around. Plenty of seating with booths, high tops and bar seating. Very clean and great sports bar vibe. We got there around 6ish. Not too many people yet. They have Happy Hour everyday from 4-7pm which includes $2 off apps, $10 dollar cocktails and $2 off drafts. They have a nice variety of cocktails and about 6 or so beers on tap. We ordered our food and decided to play cards and board games while we waited. They have a great selection of games to entertain kids along with late night semi inebriated adults. As for the food, we had the Pizza Rolls, Chicken Fingers and Fries and the House Specialty Beef on Weck. My heart sank as one after another the dishes were underwhelming. The Pizza Rolls were not hot, tasted pretty bland and the tomato dipping sauce was very average. The Chicken Fingers were ok but the Fries. I couldn't figure out how Fries that looked perfectly seasoned again tasted completely bland. But I feel my biggest disappointment came with the Beef on Weck. I had high hopes for their signature dish. The sandwich again was not hot. The meat looked good and the bun looked homemade but it just was one note. I tried it alone. I tried it with just the horseradish and I tried it with the au jus. Just hoping it would get better. But unfortunately it never did. I found myself reaching more for the tater tots which were an additional $2 and were undercooked. I found myself questioning what happened in the end. Was it just an off night? Was it the time of the day? Either way I would still come back on atmosphere alone. The place has a great vibe. Staff seem super friendly and like I said in the beginning it fills a local sports bar void in the Shenandoah neighborhood. Great place to catch up with friends over some drinks or watch a sporting event. read more
