I wish I knew of this store before! They have all kinds of English goodies here! I especially love some of the candy they carry. I ended up buying some lollies that were amazing. They carry all types of groceries, souvenirs, gifts, etc. It's a little on the pricey side, but that's expected when items are imported. What a great little gem in the middle of Torrance! Perfect place to get tea (of course!), including hard-to-find loose leaf Earl Grey. They have all the important sweets, including Aeros. Lots of biscuits, and Eccles Cakes. Big thumbs up! read more

OK 5 stars, but yes I'm biased...I'm a Brit !!! I used to drive to Santa Monica for a pint in "The King's Head" and then shopping in the little shop connected to it. Don't get me wrong, still go to SM for a pint and a fryup, but when you have a craving and the drive is too much for only a bag of crisps, this is a Godsend. They have the typical things people who aren't British like to buy for their British friends, such as fancy and impractical teapots, books and loud aprons. However more importantly they have crisps, back bacon, sausages, pork pies, fruit pastilles and Mr Kipling goodies. I shop here to support a local business and fellow Brits, however I believe that they may have placed a curse upon my wallet, as I rarely escape here under $50 !! read more

Ride a bike and you find things you have never seen before. I was riding my bike and I noticed a sign that said British Connection and something about gifts so I turned my bike into the parking lot to check this place out. Inside was a very nice couple that I believe are the owners. The woman explained that everything there was from Britain except for a small section of Australian items including Vegemite. They had an assortment of British teas as well as teapots. There was a wall of assorted candies that I never heard of. They had a few Manchester United items and a couple shelves of souvenir items. They also have a freezer with frozen dinners like bangers and mash. The nice lady, I believe her name is Pamela offered me some lemon water and I really needed it after biking 5 miles in this heatwave. Being a British girl I was surprised to find that there was a British store so close to home, I love coming to this place when i get those British cravings. Like fellow yelper Clare I must admit it is a little pricey but what can you do? There are a large selection of snacks, crisps,drinks and chocolates but they also sell many household things like soups, beans and biscuits that you just cant get in any supermarket in Los Angeles. They also have a small selection of frozen goods like cheese, sausage rolls, sausages, bread and bacon that taste totally different from food over here. Just like a taste of home, it keeps me sane. Yelpers should come here and try some of the British fare, its not as bad as you think! read more

My local British goods store oh how I love you! I urge all my fellow locals to support this business instead of shopping the small (and more expensive) selections at cost plus or other corporations. This family run business has the best product for your money and a customer service that can't be compared anywhere else! One of the friendliest stores around! My mother and stepdad are both from the UK so when holidays come around I always stop here for some gifts. :) read more

This is a pretty cool place. It's pretty darn pricey (like $3 for a can of sods pricey) but what should you expect? It's being imported from the UK. They have a lot of really cool things from food/drinks to teapots, bags and puzzles. They also let you have a free copy of the English newspaper which is pretty cool. It appears this is owned by a ma and PA, the ma being extremely friendly and welcoming, the PA seeming a little grumpy, but I didn't experience any disrespect. We wound up getting two meat pies and two Bass Sandrys. The beer was sweet and the meat pies come frozen but we're still spot on. This is the kind of place I'd return to every now and then because it is a bit pricey as I said. Come check it out. It's definitely worth your time. We wanted empire cookies? (I think it's that, my wife keeps trying to get me to try them) but sadly they didn't have it. The lady was really helpful though and even let us browse some cookbooks to see if we can find the recipe for one. read more

The store is absolutely lovely. My husband and I drive past this cute store on Torrance frequently and always mean to visit but had never been inside until Easter Sunday! We were immediately charmed by the fully stocked merchandize and the hardworking Brit, Gemma, that provided excellent customer service. We purchased an authentic and delicious chocolate Cadbury bar and an adorable British post box souvenir. We love London, so this is a great shop to have in our neighborhood. For those Yelpers that are not aware, British food products have little to no preservatives and no GMOs, so their candy bars and food products are delicious and better for you than our American counter parts. read more

If you're jonesing for a taste of back home (like my BF), this place offers everything from crisps, cherry bakewells, baked beans, kidney pies, Cadbury chocolates, and TREACLE tarts ;) They also sell some Union Jack knick-knacks and other souvenirs. Yes, the prices are over-inflated, but whatddya expect? It is true that you can find most of the canned goods and chocolates for a little cheaper at Cost Plus World Market. This is place is run by the nicest people ever! I was planning my wedding reception and wanted special ginger beer for our signature moscow mules. Yes I could have went to Total Wine or Bevmo to get regular ginger beer, but it was my wedding and I had to go big and get the special British stuff! I'm from the OC and when I found The British Connection and saw it was in Torrance, I was a bit discouraged to go so far. But after calling and talking to the sweetest english lady with a British accent I knew I had to check this place out (no joke, I talked on the phone an extra few minutes to listen to someone with a British accent talk!) I got to the place and found the product I wanted and put in an order for 7 cases. The owner and matriarch of the shop, Debbie was so nice! She kept in contact with me throughout the week letting me know when the shipment was coming and going out of her way to help me. When I arrived to pick up my special order of ginger beer, Debbie and her entire family was there waiting to greet me! Once I told Debbie it was for my wedding, she was so excited and genuinely happy to help me! Her daughters loaded my car (which was so nice of them) and Debbie gave me a big hug and wished me well! Went there to pick up some English/Irish bangers. It's a small shop chocked full of whatnots tourist stuff. Over in the corner is a fridge/freezer with pub pies, English bacon and bangers. If you are looking for English goodies, you definitely want to stop by The British Connection in Torrance, CA. I went in today looking for a particular jam that I need to make some cookies and the staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. Of course I found what I needed for my cookies but then I even picked up some unique snacks that not found in America. The store is quite large and not over crowded. I will definitely be back. The owner even told me they are open on Sunday's which is nice so I can stop by anytime. read more

Friendly store keepers! Brilliant little store with an splendid selection of English biscuits to go with your tea. Love their walker crisps and saw some beer flavoured ones too... should have grabbed a bag. But instead, I just picked up a tube of hard-to-find mcvities orange and chocolate flavoured biscuits. We tried the bacon on our most recent trip. Pan fried it and it's really more like ham than what Americans would call "bacon." On my first trip here I spent $61! Such a nice cozy store filled with products from England. From meat pies to PG Tips. They also have souvenirs, but on this trip I stayed on the food side. I bought a few meat pies (the Shepherds Pie is yummy) PG Tips, Baked Beans. I was tempted to buy the Tango Apple soda. Maybe on my next trip. read more

My husband and I visited this store for the first time, and we loved it. We went crazy and bought a bunch of imported snacks, clotted cream, and bangers. It can definitely be pricey, but everything we got was delicious! Not to mention, the owners were super sweet and funny, and yes, they are british! They also carry party decorations, souvenirs, and gifts. Definitely will go back when we have a craving. read more

I could not live without this place. Where else would I get my essential supply of P.G. Tips (if you have to ask what this is you are obvioulsy not British), Baked Beans, Salad Cream, Marmite, Chocolate Digestives, Cadbury's chocolate (the British kind not the American Pale Immitation), and other English supplies that make living here bearable.... The couple that run it are charming and kind. The free newspapers are a great way to assuage homesickness.. the Royal Wedding bunting was outstanding!!! Not to forget Christmas Crackers! Clotted cream is the find here. :) although this place is not an equivalent to Albertsons, Vons or even Seven-Eleven, it my favorite place to buy British or European things without traveling to distance. The first time I stumbled upon it was when a friend of mine told that they sold Clotted Cream here. My mom used to make it for us, but not any more. This place is great. Great people running it plus a great overall experience in the southbay. I love the feeling in the store and everything is so neat and easy to find. This place is hilarious. It's the sort of shop Michael Bluth might have had on "Arrested Development" (god I miss that show) instead of the frozen banana stand - completely random and almost comically quaint. I was picking up some dirty chinese food at The Fortune Cookie across the parking lot and spotted this place in the back corner, Union Jacks flying out front. I couldn't think of anything quintessentially British that I wanted except for Wine Gums, so decided to poke my head in. Lo and behold, there were not only Wine Gums in various sizes, but also all manner of British snacks, sauces, meats, and tschotchkies. There is a whole shelf of mayonnaise-based sauces, and bins of Digestive biscuits like my grandfather used to eat. And there's an entire refrigerator of vacuum sealed hams and hens and meat pies. I don't even know what I would do with half the stuff in there, but I guess there's a customer base b/c they said they've been around for 8 years. So if you're craving something British, check out this little shop in Torrance. The owners are super friendly too. read more

Whoa... Did I just walk into the Tesco express on Camden Road?? This place is awesome! I'm not english, but I lived in London for a spell and man how I've missed my English eats. They had all of my faves, cadbury bars, Time Outs, and McVities Digestives (which I'm enjoying right now with my tea). Kinda wish I'd picked up a bottle of Ribena... Next time I guess. The staff are always cheerful and very helpful, the prices are reasonable, and there is always a giggle when the owners are there. I cannot speak more highly of the quality of the British Connection. Great store and great service! Hard to find British imported foods. Lots of Cadbury candy - my favorite! A few cake and scone mixes, jams, chips, and teas. British baking supplies, and mincemeat pies. Royal family coffee/tea mugs and other memorabilia. My favorite store! The British Connection stocks all kinds of goodies. I have been visiting for years, but after studying abroad in England I frequent this store even more to get my fix!
