I've found my new favorite breakfast joint. For as long as I've been coming to The Brogue Inn and eating here, I never once had the chance to try one of their breakfast offerings until recently. Sure, I loved the mushroom swiss burgers, the giant baskets of onion rings, the wide beer selection and everything in between, but I'd had a bad experience years back with the "Ploughman's Breakfast" (an overpriced, underwhelming "dish" of a few sliced meats thrown together on a plate) and swore off them for a long time. Now, I think I've died and gone to Irish heaven. I wasn't planning on stopping here, but having just left a New Year's Levee where the only food options were pretzels and cupcakes, I needed something hearty that hits the spot. When my good friend suggested we check out the Brogue in Port Credit, I couldn't say no, and I quickly found myself poring over the varied menu options. I ended up settling for the "Irish Fry", an absurdly-valued breakfast that can be accurately summarized as "everything but the kitchen sink". Just let this sink in - three eggs, thick and hearty toast, baked beans, black pudding, hashbrowns, two strips of bacon, peameal bacon, sausages, sundried tomatoes, sliced bananas and sliced apples. For $12? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I quickly found myself hitting a wall as the gravity of the food (and all that fried meat) kicked in. Meanwhile, my friend (who used to work at the Brogue and loved the food) settled on a glass of Shiraz and non-chewy calamari with garlic aioli. What a feast! The only thing I know is that I need to come back here soon, like yesterday. 5/5 - doesn't get much better than this!

After Gord and I left the Harp Pub, we stopped in at the Brogue Inn for a drink before we had to catch our GoTrain home (it's just a couple blocks south of the GoTrain station) We'd been there in April 2010 for a friend's birthday party and enjoyed it. As usual, we sat at the bar. The bartender took good care of us. There were quite a few people there. There was a guy enjoying a beer and working ... he had a huge pile of paper in front of him he was going through. It's a fairly big place. There is another room on the side. Alas, we had to leave to catch our 10:43pm GoTrain. It's a comfortable place to have a beer and a bite to eat ... I'd stop in again.

We have been driving by for years and finally stopped in to give it a try. Much bigger and nicer than it appears from the outside. The food was absolutely amazing and the server was quite friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend it for those days when you want a nice meal with a homey atmosphere.

4.5/5! Hands down, my favourite pub in Mississauga! We went for 8pm (party of 5) and had an awesome waitress (who, by the way, is crazy good with orders...wrote absolutely nothing down even if we wanted to make switches). So, drink orders were done first and shortly after we ordered our meals, which arrived within 10 minutes. Here is what was ordered with their reviews: cheesy garlic bread ( four pieces shared between four of us; pretty good) steak (deliciously juicy and prepared on a bed of mashed potatoes, asparagus, and assorted steamed veggies), sweet potato fries (HUGE portion even though it's a side dish and comes with a homemade ranch dip; delicious), chicken wrap with fries (yummy and also huge portion), beef dip with fries (thinly sliced beef on kaiser bread with dip on the side; this was mine and I seriously loved it....I couldn't make it past finishing the sandwich itself but tasted some of the fries and they were delish), and chocolate lava cake (also very yummy and is served warm with a little plate of ice cream and whipped cream). So, the food is amazing but at what cost? Actually, prices were pretty fantastic. For large portions of food, each dish was just over $10 (excluding the sweet potato fries and chocolate lava cake which were about $7). The ambience of the pub was very vintage and authentic, warm and cozy and music level wasn't too loud but that's probably cause we didn't stay too late. Recommend. Find your way there soon :)

    Yes. It tastes that good.

Irish breakfast is a battle of good versus evil. It was a delicious tie. Will do battle again with thick pea-meal bacon and the blood pudding, which I understand can be addictive.

Very nondescript outside facade - no sign telling you what it is other than a small "BSC" (for Bovine Sex Club) painted near the door. Hard to miss though as the exterior is made up a punk rock style sculpture of rusted bikes & other assorted ephemera. The interior is similar, visually. Great sound system & chill vibes pervade throughout. Weirdly the stage is right in the entrance of the club, on your left, with a long bar along the right side, heading back. Great, crowd, great location in cool area with lots of restaurants & plenty of parking - both on the street up to 2 hours & extended parking for a flat-rate of CA$20 (~$14 USD) from 6:00pm until the next morning, just 2 blacks away.

Are the beer cans running out? It's possible. But, it's a dive in the way of the old dives. And the acoustics for bands are... not great. But they are a sign of what once was. Without attempting to try to present a front of a time long gone, The Bovine simply exists today as it once did in that time long ago, before Smokes stickers, before iPhones, back when people would just go to a bar to talk with those they didn't know the morning prior. Bring cash though, unless you're looking to make some big orders, because credit card is a minimum fifty-dollar spend.

Also had the bangers and mash. Mashed were tasty, not like from a box. The beans had a nice taste to it that I cannot pinpoint exactly what the flavour combination was, but it worked well. Went here when there was a live performer. Could get noisy. Some people dance in a small area by the door. The service could be better however.

Myself along with 3 family friends tried this place over the weekend after I had read positive…read morereviews about it and found ourselves in the area. None of us were overly-satisfied with the experience and I doubt any of us would return voluntarily. They do appear to have a nice patio which would seem nice in the summer; however, it's currently facing a construction zone that doesn't appear to be going anywhere soon. It labels itself as an English pub and they've done very nice things with the décor. I especially appreciate the rows of books at the back of the pub. There are numerous flat screen TVs distributed throughout the pub, playing various sports games/races. The servers are friendly and prompt, although, they asked a couple of questions indicating they weren't familiar with the menu. The atmosphere was pleasant and laid back, The menu has "traditional English fare" at traditional English prices. A typical entrée will cost between $12-$15. Their bar menu is more reasonable with beers ranging from $3-6. One friend has a gluten allergy and only had one option to choose from when picking a main. Thankfully, she was somewhat in the mood for salad but when asked how it was, she responded "it's lettuce." Not the best review of a dish I'd ever heard. The rest of us ordered traditional English classics. Two of the members in the party were very curious about the strange aftertaste left by the "bangers" in the bangers and mash. I must admit, I tried it and couldn't label the strange taste either. The fish and chips were decent but slightly over priced. The best part of that dish for me was the coleslaw of which I could have eaten that dressing all day. When time for coffee and dessert, this place lost another star or two. One person in our party wanted decaf (which they didn't have) and the one person who wanted dessert was underwhelmed by the ONE option available, a deep fried mars bar. Those who had regular coffee were satisfied with it's taste. However, the rest of us went to local Tim Hortons to satisfy our coffee and sweet tooth cravings after dinner. All in all, a lot of little things were wrong or missing that gave this place such a low rating. I don't believe any of us will be returning voluntarily in the future.
